Der Autor stellt den experimentellen Ansatz der Fördermaßnahme heraus, erläutert die gewählten quantitativen und qualitativen Analyseverfahren sowie die empirische Methode der teilnehmenden Beobachtung. Er beschreibt den Verlauf des Modellversuchs von der Implementierungsphase über die flankierenden Maßnahmen bis zur Endauswertung. Dabei werden neue statistische und qualitative Ergebnisse zur informationstechnischen Ausstattung von IVS, zur Qualifikation der Mitarbeiter, zu deren Rechercheverhalten, zum Marketing und zu Kooperationsstrukturen sowie zu Wirtschaftlichkeit und Akzeptanz der Online-Nutzung präsentiert. Organizational Semiotics occupies an important niche in the research community of human communication and information systems. It opens up new ways of understanding the functioning of information and information resources in organised behaviour.
