This book constitutes the proceedings of the 16th International Symposium on Algorithmic Game Theory, SAGT 2023, which took place in Egham, UK, in September 2023. The 26 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 59 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: ​computational aspects and efficiency in games; computational social choice; fair division; matching and mechanism design.

This three-volume set, LNCS 12550, 12551, and 12552, constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Theory of Cryptography, TCCC 2020, held in Durham, NC, USA, in November 2020. The total of 71 full papers presented in this three-volume set was carefully reviewed and selected from 167 submissions. Amongst others they cover the following topics: study of known paradigms, approaches, and techniques, directed towards their better understanding and utilization; discovery of new paradigms, approaches and techniques that overcome limitations of the existing ones, formulation and treatment of new cryptographic problems; study of notions of security and relations among them; modeling and analysis of cryptographic algorithms; and study of the complexity assumptions used in cryptography. A basic issue in computer science is the complexity of problems. Computational complexity measures how much time or memory is needed as a function of the input problem size. Descriptive complexity is concerned with problems which may be described in first-order logic. By virtue of the close relationship between logic and relational databses, it turns out that this subject has important applications to databases such as analysing the queries computable in polynomial time, analysing the parallel time needed to compute a query, and the analysis of nondeterministic classes. This book is written as a graduate text and so aims to provide a reasonably self-contained introduction to this subject. The author has provided numerous examples and exercises to further illustrate the ideas presented.

Yuri Gurevich has played a major role in the discovery and development of - plications of mathematical logic to theoretical and practical computer science. His interests have spanned a broad spectrum of subjects, including decision p- cedures, the monadic theory of order, abstract state machines, formal methods, foundations of computer science, security, and much more. In May 2010, Yuri celebrated his 70th birthday. To mark that occasion, on August 22, 2010,a symposium was held in Brno, the Czech Republic, as a sat- lite event of the 35th International Symposium on Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science (MFCS 2010) and of the 19th EACSL Annual Conference on Computer Science Logic (CSL 2010). The meeting received generous support from Microsoft Research. In preparation for this 70th birthday event, we asked Yuri's colleagues (whether or not they were able to attend the symposium) to contribute to a volume in his honor. This book is the result of that e?ort. The collection of articles herein begins with an academic biography, an annotated list of Yuri's publications and reports, and a personaltribute by Jan Van den Bussche. These are followed by 28 technical contributions. These articles – though they cover a broad range of topics – represent only a fraction of Yuri's multiple areas of interest. Each contribution was reviewed by one or two readers. In this regard, the editors wish to thank several anonymous individuals for their assistance.

The Annual International Computing and Combinatorics Conference is an annual forum for exploring research, development, and novel applications of computing and combinatorics. It brings together researchers, professionals and industrial practitioners to interact and exchange knowledge, ideas and progress. Thetopics covermost aspects oftheoreticalcomputer scienceand combinatorics related to computing. The 13th Annual International Computing and Com- natorics Conference (COCOON 2007) was held in Ban?, Alberta during July 16–19, 2007. This was the?rst time that COCOON was held in Canada. We received 165 submissions, among which 11 were withdrawn for various reasons. The remaining 154 submissions under full consideration came from 33 countries and regions: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, R- sia, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the UK, the USA, and the US minor outlying islands. Afterasixweekperiodofcarefulreviewinganddiscussions,theprogramc- mittee accepted 51 submissions for oral presentation at the conference. On May 1, 2004, the world of theoretical computer science su?ered a stunning loss: Shimon Even passed away. Few computer scientists have had as long, s- tained, and in?uential a career as Shimon. Shimon Even was born in Tel-Aviv in 1935. He received a B.Sc. in Elect- cal Engineering from the Technion in 1959, an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Northern Carolina in 1961, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University in 1963. He held positions at the Technion (1964–67 and 1974–2003), Harvard University (1967–69), the Weizmann Institute (1969– 74), and the Tel-Aviv Academic College (2003-04). He visited many universities and research institutes, including Bell Laboratories, Boston University, Cornell, Duke, Lucent Technologies, MIT, Paderborn, Stanford, UC-Berkeley, USC and UT-Dallas. Shimon Even played a major role in establishing computer science education in Israel and led the development of academic programs in two major insti- tions: the Weizmann Institute and the Technion. In 1969 he established at the Weizmann the?rst computer science education program in Israel, and led this program for?ve years. In 1974 he joined the newly formed computer science department at the Technion and shaped its academic development for several decades. These two academic programs turned out to have a lasting impact on the evolution of computer science in Israel.

Crypto'99, the Nineteenth Annual Crypto Conference, was sponsored by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), in cooperation with the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Security and Privacy and the Computer Science Department, University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). The General Chair, Donald Beaver, was responsible for local organization and registration. The Program Committee considered 167 papers and selected 38 for presentation. This year's conference program also included two invited lectures. I was pleased to include in the program UeliM aurer's presentation “Information Theoretic Cryptography” and Martin Hellman's presentation “The Evolution of Public Key Cryptography.” The program also incorporated the traditional Rump Session for informal short presentations of new results, run by Stuart Haber. These proceedings include the revised versions of the 38 papers accepted by the Program Committee. These papers were selected from all the submissions to the conference based on originality, quality, and relevance to the field of cryptology. Revisions were not checked, and the authors bear full responsibility for the contents of their papers.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Concurrency Theory (CONCUR 2000) held in State College, Pennsylvania, USA, during 22-25 August 2000. The purpose of the CONCUR conferences is to bring together researchers, developers, and students in order to advance the theory of concurrency and promote its applications. Interest in this topic is continuously growing, as a consequence of the importance and ubiquity of concurrent systems and their - plications, and of the scienti?c relevance of their foundations. The scope covers all areas of semantics, logics, and veri?cation techniques for concurrent systems. Topics include concurrency related aspects of: models of computation, semantic domains, process algebras, Petri nets, event structures, real-time systems, hybrid systems, decidability, model-checking, veri?cation techniques, re?nement te- niques, term and graph rewriting, distributed programming, logic constraint p- gramming, object-oriented programming, typing systems and algorithms, case studies, tools, and environments for programming and veri?cation. The?rst two CONCUR conferences were held in Amsterdam (NL) in 1990 and 1991. The following ones in Stony Brook (USA), Hildesheim (D), Uppsala (S), Philadelphia (USA), Pisa (I), Warsaw (PL), Nice (F), and Eindhoven (NL). The proceedings have appeared in Springer LNCS, as Volumes 458, 527, 630, 715, 836, 962, 1119, 1243, 1466, and 1664.
