This volume constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 49th International Workshop on Graph-Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science, WG 2023. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Computers and Games, CG 2016, held in Leiden, The Netherlands,in conjunction with the 19th Computer Olympiad and the 22nd World Computer-Chess Championship.The 20 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected of 30 submitted papers. The 20 papers cover a wide range of computer games and many different research topics in four main classes which determined the order of publication: Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) and its enhancements (seven papers), concrete games (seven papers), theoretical aspects and complexity (five papers) and cognition model (one paper). This book constitutes the proceedings of the 23rd International Symposium on Graph Drawing and Network Visualization, GD 2015, held in Los Angeles, Ca, USA, in September 2015. Graph Drawing is concerned with the geometric representation of graphs and constitutes the algorithmic core of Network Visualization. Graph Drawing and Network Visualization are motivated by applications where it is crucial to visually analyze and interact with relational datasets. Examples of such application areas include social sciences, Internet and Web computing, information systems, computational biology, networking, VLSI circuit design, and software engineering. This year the Steering Committee of GD decided to extend the name of the conference from the'International Symposium on Graph Drawing'to the'International Symposium on Graph Drawing and Network Visualization'in order to better emphasize the dual focus of the conference on combinatorial and algorithmic aspects as well as the design of network visualization systems and interfaces.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Workshop on Bayesian and grAphical Models for Biomedical Imaging, BAMBI 2014, held in Cambridge, MA, USA, in September 2014 as a satellite event of the 17th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2014.The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions with a key aspect on probabilistic modeling applied to medical image analysis. The objectives of this workshop compared to other workshops, e.g. machine learning in medical imaging, have a stronger mathematical focus on the foundations of probabilistic modeling and inference. This Festschrift volume is published in honor of Ferran Hurtado on the occasion of his 60th birthday; it contains extended versions of selected communications presented at the XIV Spanish Meeting on Computational Geometry, held at the University of Alcalá, Spain, in June 2011. Ferran Hurtado has played a central role in the Spanish community of Computational Geometry since its very beginning, and the quantity and quality of the international participants in the conference is an indisputable proof of his relevance in the international level. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Thailand-Japan Joint Conference on Computational Geometry and Graphs, TJJCCGG 2012, held in Bangkok, Thailand, in December 2012.The 15 original research papers presented were selected from among six plenary talks, one special public talk and 41 talks by participants from about 20 countries around the world. TJJCCGG 2012 provided a forum for researchers working in computational geometry, graph theory/algorithms and their applications.

The 22 revised full papers presented together with invited talk were carefully reviewed and selected from 60 submissions. The workshop covered areas such as geometric problems, online algorithms, scheduling, algorithmic game theory, and approximation algorithms.

The 16th International Symposium on Graph Drawing (GD 2008) was held in Hersonissos, near Heraklion, Crete, Greece, September 21-24, 2008, and was attended by 91 participants from 19 countries. In response to the call for papers the Program Committee received 83 s- missions,eachdescribing originalresearchand/or a systemdemonstration.Each submissionwasreviewedbyatleastthreeProgramCommitteemembersandthe reviewer's comments were returned to the authors. Following extensive disc- sions, the committee accepted 31 long papers and 8 short papers. In addition, 10 posters were accepted and displayed at the conference site. Each poster was granted a two-page description in the conference proceedings. Two invited speakers, Jesper Tegn´ er from Karolinska Institute (Monday) and Roberto Tamassia from Brown University (Tuesday), gave fascinating talks during the conference. Professor Tegn´ er focused on the challenges and oppor- nities posed by the discovery, analysis, and interpretation of biological networks to information visualization, while Prof. Tamassia showed how graph drawing techniques can be used as an e?ective tool in computer security and pointed to future research directions in this area. Following what is now a tradition, the 15th Annual Graph Drawing Contest was held during the conference, also including a Graph Drawing Challenge to the conference attendees. A report is included in the conference proceedings.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 9th International Workshop on Approximation and Online Algorithms, WAOA 2011, held in Saarbrücken, Germany, in September 2011. The 21 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 48 submissions. The volume also contains an extended abstract of the invited talk of Prof. Klaus Jansen. The Workshop on Approximation and Online Algorithms focuses on the design and analysis of algorithms for online and computationally hard problems. Both kinds of problems have a large number of applications in a wide variety of fields. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Kyoto Conference on Computational Geometry and Graph Theory, KyotoCGGT 2007, held in Kyoto, Japan, in June 2007, in honor of Jin Akiyama and Vašek Chvátal, on the occasion of their 60th birthdays. The 27 full papers and 9 short papers presented together with 2 invited talks, and a report on the symposium's graph drawing contest were carefully selected from 74 initial submissions. All of the current hot topics in graph drawing are addressed here.

The 34th International Workshop on Graph-Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science (WG 2008) took place in Van Mildert College at Durham University, UK, 30 June – 2 July 2008. The approximately 80 participants came from va- ous countries all over the world, among them Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary,Israel, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, UK and the USA. WG 2008 continued the series of 33 previous WG conferences. Since 1975, the WG conference has taken place 21 times in Germany, four times in The Netherlands, twice in Austria as well as once in Italy, Slovakia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, France, Norway and now in the UK. The WG conference traditionally aims at uniting theory and practice by demonstrating how graph-theoretic concepts can be applied to various areas in computer science, or by extracting new problems from applications. The goal is to present recent researchresults and to identify and exploredirections of future research. The continuing interest in the WG conferences was re?ected in the number and quality of submissions; 76 papers were submitted and in an evaluation p- cess with four reports per submission, 30 papers were accepted by the Program Committee for the conference. Due to the high number of submissions and the limited schedule of 3 days, various good papers could not be accepted.
