- Abstract
'The journey of womanhood start from the day the girl child is born. She passes through the phases of childhood, adolescence, youth, elderly and finally to geriasis. The two milestones in her life are menarche and menopause heralding the reproductive period of life. Menopause = Men (month), Pause (to stop) literally means cessation of menses and this follows loss of ovarian activity in women. This is a transition between reproductive and non-reproductive potential. Menopause has achieved greater significance in today's prospective. Life expectancy has gone up to 80 years and women are living around 30 years in postmenopause estrogen depleted state and with it comes all the problems of menopause and geriasis. An Update on Menopause is devised to view the problems of menopause from all the angles and solutions including articles of famous gynecologists.'
