- Abstract
Atlas of Endoscopic Perforator Vein Surgery thoroughly describes the pathophysiology and treatment of venous ulcers - an increasingly common condition. The book describes new surgical treatment which accelerates the healing of formerly intractable venous ulcerations and which can be carried out in a day-care surgical centre thus avoiding the need for hospitalisation. The pathophysiology which explains the success of the procedure is thoroughly treated as is the anatomy of the deranged venous system and how it can be corrected. Various methods of treatment are described and are supplemented by instructions on conservative care before and after the surgical treatment. The text is lavishly illustrated and well supported by numerous colour photographs and line drawings. Results of surgical intervention are detailed and compared to historical data.
