This book presents a study on the influence of selected technological parameters of die casting upon strength and use properties of Al-Si alloy casts produced in die casting. Die Aluminiumdruckgussbranche sieht sich einem sehr hohen Kostendruck durch hohe Energieintensität der Produktion sowie steigende Energie- und Rohstoffpreise ausgesetzt. In dem Verbundforschungsprojekt ProGRess wurden gezielt Lösungen erarbeitet, um unternehmensübergreifend den Energie- und Ressourcenverbrauch signifikant zu senken. Die in der Praxis erprobten Lösungen werden anhand von Fallbeispielen in der Wertschöpfungskette vorgestellt. Die Auswirkungen der vorgeschlagenen Maßnahmen in der Praxis können in einem ganzheitlichen Bewertungsansatz für Produktionsprozessketten verglichen werden.
