This paper deals with the testing of prediction abilities of artificial neural networks. Special attention is paid to computational demands of various types of artificial neural networks and their applicability in model predictive control. in order to provide generally comparable results, the CATS benchmark (Competition on Artificial Time Series) was chosen as the testing method.
