The article examines the legality of the actions of the U.S. government in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorists attacks in relation to new conceptions of law and ethics. It states that after the attack, the government also attacked the conspirators of the bombers in Afghanistan, alleged that some of the conspirators committed war crimes and held them in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. It discusses the establishment of military commissions by the U.S. following the conflict in Afghanistan.
