This paper will explore the extent to which social inequality has lasting effects on the communities and classes and reflects the lack of sustainability in the built urban environment. Innovative techniques for correction and reversal of this imbalance will be explored, with particular emphasis on the implementation of sustainable practices that emphasizeenvironmentally consciousness decision making. Given the importance of sustainability, reuse and adaptability within the urban environment the proposed paper will identify traditional urban practices as well as new green practices that affect how the urban community reacts to social and economic imbalances. Once these sustainable practices are identified, we can then categorize some of the social, infrastructure, and economic issues and begin to apply them to traditional urban infrastructure. With these changes we can begin to understand how the built urban environment affects economic and social imbalance. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
