The article reports that Shotaro Makisumi of Pasadena, California become the world's top speedcuber in January 2006. Makisumi solved a Rubik's Cube faster than any other contestant at this year's International Rubik's Cube Competition held at the San Francisco Exploratorium. A Rubik's Cube is a multicolored plastic cube made of interlocking pieces that can be rotated into a multitude of alignments. Makisumi won the title for having an average speedcubing time of 14.91 seconds after three trials.
