The discussion models the IRI-2012 TEC map over a moderate geomagnetic storm period (5 days) in February 2015 and compares the yield of the models. The models are constructed with the help of cubic Bézier curves and machine learning. In a sense, the comparison of a classical and mechanical approach with a modern and computer-based one is a considerable experience for the paper. The parametric curve approach governs models of piecewise continuous Bézier cubics, while the models employ only the TEC map. The design is separated into curve components at every five-hour curvature point, and each component is handled independently. Instead of the traditional least squares method for finding control points of cubics, it utilizes the mean of every five-hour of the piecewise curves of the TEC data. Accordingly, the prediction error can be controlled at a rate that can compete with the modern network approach. In the network model, 120 hours of the solar wind parameters and the TEC map of the storm are processed. The reliability of the network model is assessed by the (R) correlation coefficient and mean square error. In modeling the TEC map with the classical approach, the mean absolute error is 0.0901% and the correlation coefficient (R) score is 99.9%. Artificial intelligence (AI) has received much attention in the domain of railway traffic planning and management (TPM) from academia and industries. While many promising applications have been reported, there remains a lack of detailed review of the many AI models/algorithms and their uses and adaptations in rail TPM. To fill this gap, this systematic literature review conducts, reports, and synthesizes the state-of-the-art of AI applied in railway TPM from four perspectives, i.e., the intersection between AI research fields (e.g., expert systems, data mining, and adversarial search) and rail TPM, the intersection between AI techniques (e.g., evolutionary computing and machine learning) and rail TPM, the intersection between AI applications (e.g., operations research, scheduling, and planning) and rail TPM, and the intersection between AI related disciplines (e.g., big data analytics and digital twins) and rail TPM. The study evaluates 95 research papers published during 1970–2022. Accordingly, a comprehensive synthesis of each intersection between AI and rail TPM is presented, and the practical roadmap for application of AI in rail TPM is proposed. Furthermore, the study identifies the research gaps and areas that need more investigation. Currently, Customers are struggling to retain their business in today's competitive markets. Thus, the issue of customer churn becomes a significant challenge for the industries. In order to achieve this, it is vital to have an efficient churn prediction system. In this paper, we discuss methods for reducing features using PCA, Autoencoders, LDA, T-SNE, and Xgboost. In this paper, a model for predicting light GBM churn is proposed. The model consists of five steps. The first step is to preprocess the data so that missing and corrupt values can be handled and the data can be scaled. Secondly, implementing a comprehensive feature reduction system based on popular algorithms reduces the features and selects the most suitable one. In the third step, light GBM's hyperparameter is tuned using Bayesian hyperparameter optimization and genetic optimization algorithms. Lastly, interpreting the model and evaluating the impact of the features on model outputs by using the SHAP method, and finally ranking the churners by customer lifetime value. Aside from evaluating and choosing the best feature reduction methods, the proposed method is also evaluated using four famous datasets. It outperforms other ensemble and ML algorithms like AdaBoost, SVM, and decision tree on over seven evaluation metrics: accuracy, area under the curve (AUC), Kappa, Mathews correlation coefficient (MCC), Brier score, F1 score, and EMPC. In light of the evaluation metrics, our model shows a significant improvement in handling imbalanced datasets in churn prediction. The accurate prediction of stock prices is not an easy task. The long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network and the transformer are good machine learning models for times series forecasting. In this paper, we use LSTM and transformer to predict prices of banking stocks in China's A-share market. It is shown that organizing the input data can help get accurate outcomes of the models. In this paper, we first introduce some basic knowledge about LSTM and present prediction results using a standard LSTM model. Then, we show how to organize the input data during the training period and give the comparison results for not only LSTM but also the transformer model. The communication recognition of mobile phone core is a test of the development of machine vision. The size of mobile phone core is very small, so it is difficult to identify small defects. Based on the in-depth study of the algorithm, combined with the actual needs of core identification, this paper improves the algorithm and proposes an intelligent algorithm suitable for core identification. In addition, according to the actual needs of core wire recognition, this paper makes an intelligent analysis of the core wire recognition process. In addition, this paper improves the traditional communication image recognition algorithm and analyzes the data of the recognition algorithm according to the shape and image characteristics of the mobile phone core. Finally, after constructing the functional structure of the system model constructed in this paper, the system model is verified and analyzed, and on this basis, the performance of the improved core recognition algorithm proposed in this paper is verified and analyzed. From the results of online monitoring and recognition, the statistical accuracy of mobile phone core video recognition is about 90%, which has higher accuracy in mobile phone core image recognition than traditional recognition algorithms. Although socially responsible investment (SRI) has developed into an important investment style, only a small number of studies discuss SRI portfolio construction. In view of the overwhelming breakthrough of machine learning in prediction, this paper proposes SRI portfolio construction models by combining a double-screening mechanism considering machine learning prediction and an extended global minimum variance (GMV) model (or extended maximum Sharpe ratio (MSPR) model), which are, respectively, named double-screening socially responsible investment (DSSRI) portfolio models I and II. The proposed models consist of two stages, i.e., stock screening and asset allocation. First, this paper develops a novel double-screening mechanism incorporating environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and return potential criteria to ensure that high-quality stocks with good ESG performance and high-return potential are input into the optimal portfolio. Specifically, to obtain accurate stock return predictions, an extreme learning machine model optimized by the genetic algorithm is employed to predict stock prices. Next, to trade off the financial and ESG objectives of SRI investors, an extended GMV model (or extended MSPR model) considering the ESG factor is introduced to determine the capital allocation proportion of the stocks. We take the A-share market of China as the sample to verify the effectiveness of the proposed models. The empirical results demonstrate that compared with alternative models, the proposed models can yield better annualized return and ESG score performance as well as competitive Sharpe ratio performance. With the concept of sustainable development, enterprises are facing severe challenges in ecological protection and economic development. Approaches to improving effectiveness of the coordinated development strategy must continue to evolve to address uncertainty and hazards that may be encountered in the future. We propose a coordinated development strategy model based on the combination of soft fuzzy and rough set theory and construct its prediction model. For the multistrategy dataset in the paper, parameter for each kind shall be selected through converting the multistrategy data into two prediction datasets. An algorithm transformed by SFRC shall be subject to weighted average for each parameter. Furthermore, we use training methods and soft fuzzy rough sets' learning algorithm to calculate, and the evaluating indicator rough set is constructed with a three-tier model structure. After the final rough set training is completed, test results show that the rough set model which has a higher rating accuracy builds a better completed business performance evaluation. By comparing the prediction effect, both SVM algorithm and multistrategy prediction model for the soft fuzzy rough set in the paper can realize effective prediction for the enterprise's coordinated development strategy. Moreover, the prediction result obtained at the time of adopting boundary to get the expected value is superior to that of giving one fixed threshold. It shows that the prediction performance of the algorithm in the paper is more excellent and represents the advantage of the algorithm prediction performance at the time of adopting boundary to get the expected value. Text classification is the critical content of machine learning, and it is widely applied in information filtering, sentimental analysis, and text review. It is very important to improve the accuracy of classification results, and this is also the main research purpose of researchers in this field in recent years. Feature selection plays an important role in text classification, which has the functions of eliminating irrelevant features, reducing dimensionality, and improving classification accuracy. So, this paper studies the CHI feature selection algorithm, and the main work and innovations are as follows: firstly, this paper analyzed the CHI algorithm's flaws, determined that the introduction of new parameters will be the improvement direction of the CHI algorithm, and thus proposed a new algorithm based on variance and coefficient of variation. Secondly, experiment to verify the effectiveness of the new algorithm. In terms of language, the experiment in this paper includes two text classification systems, which were Chinese and English. In terms of classifiers, two classifier algorithms were used, which included the KNN classifier and the Naive Bayes classifier. In terms of data types, two distribution types of data were used: balanced datasets and unbalanced datasets. Finally, experiment and result analysis. Artificial neural networks have achieved a great success in simulating the information processing mechanism and process of neuron supervised learning, such as classification. However, traditional artificial neurons still have many problems such as slow and difficult training. This paper proposes a new dendrite neuron model (DNM), which combines metaheuristic algorithm and dendrite neuron model effectively. Eight learning algorithms including traditional backpropagation, classic evolutionary algorithms such as biogeography-based optimization, particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithm, population-based incremental learning, competitive swarm optimization, differential evolution, and state-of-the-art jSO algorithm are used for training of dendritic neuron model. The optimal combination of user-defined parameters of model has been systemically investigated, and four different datasets involving classification problem are investigated using proposed DNM. Compared with common machine learning methods such as decision tree, support vector machine, k-nearest neighbor, and artificial neural networks, dendritic neuron model trained by biogeography-based optimization has significant advantages. The idea of a smart city is to connect physical objects or things with sensors, software, electronics, and Internet connectivity for data communication through the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. IoT enhances productivity and efficacy intelligently using remote management, but the risk of security and privacy increases. Cyber threats are advancing day by day, causing insufficient measures of security and confidentiality. As the hackers use the Internet, several IoT vulnerabilities are introduced, demanding new security measures in the IoT devices of the smart city. The threads concerned with IoT need to be reduced for efficient Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs). As a result, machine learning algorithms generate correct outputs from a large and complicated dataset. The output of machine learning could be used to detect anomalies in IoT-network systems. The identification of plant disease is the premise of the prevention of plant disease efficiently and precisely in the complex environment. With the rapid development of the smart farming, the identification of plant disease becomes digitalized and data-driven, enabling advanced decision support, smart analyses, and planning. This paper proposes a mathematical model of plant disease detection and recognition based on deep learning, which improves accuracy, generality, and training efficiency. Firstly, the region proposal network (RPN) is utilized to recognize and localize the leaves in complex surroundings. Then, images segmented based on the results of RPN algorithm contain the feature of symptoms through Chan–Vese (CV) algorithm. Finally, the segmented leaves are input into the transfer learning model and trained by the dataset of diseased leaves under simple background. Furthermore, the model is examined with black rot, bacterial plaque, and rust diseases. The results show that the accuracy of the method is 83.57%, which is better than the traditional method, thus reducing the influence of disease on agricultural production and being favorable to sustainable development of agriculture. Based on Bayesian method, this paper constructs a model for estimating fund performance evaluation, and uses machine learning algorithm to construct a sampler that can sample on the basis of conditional distribution. Sampling is used for stress test, so as to give the closeness of all possible test results and data results. The results show that performance evaluation is affected by many factors, and the resistance to risk plays an important role in the whole performance evaluation. Based on machine learning algorithms, this paper designs a crossborder e-commerce logistics service system recommendation algorithm. First, we introduce the meaning of query recommendation, analyze the mechanism of e-commerce platform shopping search, redesign the query recommendation process on this basis, establish a Markov decision process model for the problem, and solve the optimal recommendation strategy through deep machine learning algorithms. Second, we design a simple calculation example, use Python programming through a simulated shopping environment, give the solution process of the optimal recommendation strategy in the whole process, and prove the feasibility of the algorithm. The sentiment synthesis word vector is used as the input data structure of the text, the convolutional neural network model and the recurrent neural network model in machine learning are independently designed and constructed, and a shunt is proposed. The rule (shunt) realizes the operation of judging the data and inputting the two machine learning networks. The shunt fully realizes the combination of the advantages of the local feature characterization of the convolutional neural network and the timing characteristics of the recurrent neural network and achieves a more efficient and accurate electrical system. This paper investigates whether and how the research reports issued by securities companies affect stock returns from the perspective of investor sentiment in China. By collecting research reports and investor comments from a popular Chinese investor community, i.e., East Money, we derive two indices that represent the information contained in research reports: one is the attention of research reports and the other is the average stock rating given by research reports; then we develop an investor sentiment indicator using the machine learning method. Based on behavioral finance theory, we hypothesize that research reports have a significant effect on stock returns and investor sentiment plays a mediating role in it. The empirical analysis results confirm the above hypotheses. Specifically, the average stock rating given by research reports can better predict future stock returns, and investor sentiment plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between stock rating and stock returns. How to choose suppliers scientifically is an important part of strategic decision-making management of enterprises. Expert evaluation is subjective and uncontrollable; sometimes, there exists biased evaluation, which will lead to controversial or unfair results in supplier selection. To tackle this problem, this paper proposes a novel method that employs machine learning to learn the credibility of expert from historical data, which is converted to weights in evaluation process. We first use the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier to classify the historical evaluation data of experts and calculate the experts' evaluation credibility, then determine the weights of the evaluation experts, finally assemble the weighted evaluation results, and get a preference order of choosing suppliers. The main contribution of this method is that it overcomes the shortcomings of multiple conversions and large loss on evaluation information, maintains the initial evaluation information to the maximum extent, and improves the credibility of evaluation results and the fairness and scientificity of supplier selection. The results show that it is feasible to classify the past evaluation data of the evaluation experts by the SVM classification model, and the expert weights determined on the basis of the evaluation credibility of experts are adjustable. With the progress of society and the rapid development of computer technology, rumors arise on social media, which seriously affects the social economy. How to detect rumors accurately and rapidly has become one hot research topic. In this paper, a new early rumor detection model is proposed. The aim of this model is to increase the efficiency and the accuracy of rumor detection simultaneously. Specifically, in this model, the input data is firstly refined through account filtering and data standardization, then the BiGRU is used to consider the context relationship, and a reinforcement learning algorithm is applied to detection. Experimental results show that compared with other early rumor detection models (e.g., checkpoints), the accuracy of the proposed model is improved by 0.5% with the same speed, which testifies the effectiveness of this model. Users' reviews of items contain a lot of semantic information about their preferences for items. This paper models users' long-term and short-term preferences through aspect-level reviews using a sequential neural recommendation model. Specifically, the model is devised to encode users and items with the aspect-aware representations extracted globally and locally from the user-related and item-related reviews. Given a sequence of neighbor users of a user, we design a hierarchical attention model to capture union-level preferences on sequential patterns, a pointer model to capture individual-level preferences, and a traditional attention model to balance the effects of both union-level and individual-level preferences. Finally, the long-term and short-term preferences are combined into a representation of the user and item profiles. This paper proposes a goal-directed locomotion method for a snake-shaped robot in 3D complex environment based on path-integral reinforcement learning. This method uses a model-free online Q-learning algorithm to evaluate action strategies and optimize decision-making through repeated "exploration-learning-utilization" processes to complete snake-shaped robot goal-directed locomotion in 3D complex environment. The proper locomotion control parameters such as joint angles and screw-drive velocities can be learned by path-integral reinforcement learning, and the learned parameters were successfully transferred to the snake-shaped robot. In the collaborative filtering (CF) recommendation applications, the sparsity of user rating data, the effectiveness of cold start, the strategy of item information neglection, and user profiles construction are critical to both the efficiency and effectiveness of the recommendation algorithm. In order to solve the above problems, a personalized recommendation approach combining semisupervised support vector machine and active learning (AL) is proposed in this paper, which combines the benefits of both TSVM (Transductive Support Vector Machine) and AL. Firstly, a "maximum-minimum segmentation" of version space-based AL strategy is developed to choose the most informative unlabeled samples for human annotation; it aims to choose the least data which is enough to train a high-quality model. And then, an AL-based semisupervised TSVM algorithm is proposed to make full use of the distribution characteristics of unlabeled samples by adding a manifold regularization into objective function, which is helpful to make the proposed algorithm to overcome the traditional drawbacks of TSVM. Furthermore, during the procedure of recommendation model construction, not only user behavior information and item information, but also demographic information is utilized. Due to the benefits of the above design, the quality of unlabeled sample annotation can be improved; meanwhile, both the data sparsity and cold start problems are alleviated. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified based on UCI datasets, and then it is applied to personalized recommendation. With the rapid development of intelligent transportation, intelligent algorithms and path planning have become effective methods to relieve traffic pressure. Intelligent algorithm can realize the priority selection mode in realizing traffic optimization efficiency. In this paper, the antilearning model is used to solve the problem that the gray wolf algorithm falls into local optimization. The positions of different wolves are updated. When falling into local optimization, the current position is optimized to realize global optimization. Partial least squares method has many advantages in multivariate linear regression modeling, but its internal cross-checking method will lead to a sharp reduction of the principal component, thereby reducing the accuracy of the regression equation, and the selection of principal components about the traditional Chinese medicine data is particularly sensitive. This paper proposes a kind of partial least squares method based on deep belief nets. This method mainly uses the deep learning model to extract the upper-level features of the original data, putting the extracted features into the partial least squares model for multiple linear regression and evading the problem that selects the number of principal components, continuously adjusting the model parameters until satisfied well-pleased accuracy condition. Using Dachengqitang experimental data and data sets in the UCI Machine Learning Repository, the experimental results show that the partial least squares analysis method based on deep belief nets has good adaptability to TCM data. Precise and reliable hydrological runoff prediction plays a significant role in the optimal management of hydropower resources. Nevertheless, the hydrological runoff practically possesses a nonlinear dynamics, and constructing appropriate runoff prediction models to deal with the nonlinearity is a challenging task. To overcome this difficulty, this paper proposes a three-stage novel hybrid model, namely, CVS (CEEMDAN-VMD-SVM), by coupling the support vector machine (SVM) with a two-stage signal decomposition methodology, combining complete ensemble empirical decomposition with additive noise (CEEMDAN) and variational mode decomposition (VMD), to obtain inclusive information of the runoff time series. Hydrological runoff data of the Swat River, Pakistan, from 1961 to 2015 were taken for prediction. CEEMDAN decomposes the runoff time series into subcomponents, and VMD performs further decomposition of the high-frequency component obtained after CEEMDAN decomposition to improve the prediction activity. Afterward, the SVM algorithm was applied to the decomposed subcomponents for the prediction purpose. Finally, four statistical indices are utilized to measure the performance of the CVS model compared with other hybrid models including CEEMDAN-VMD-MLP (multilayer perceptron), CEEMDAN-SVM, VMD-SVM, CEEMDAN-MLP, VMD-MLP, SVM, and MLP. The CVS model performs better during the training period by reducing RMSE by 71.28% and 40.06% compared with MLP and CEEDMAD-VMD-SVM models, respectively. However, during the testing period, the error reductions include RMSE by 68.37% and 35.33% compared with MLP and CEEDMAD-VMD-SVM models, respectively. The results highlight that the CVS model outperforms other models in terms of accuracy and error reduction. The research also highlights the superiority of other hybrid models over standalone in predicting the hydrological runoff. This paper presents a new hybrid discriminant analysis method, and this method combines the ideas of linearity and nonlinearity to establish a two-layer discriminant model. The first layer is a linear discriminant model, which is mainly used to determine the distinguishable samples and subsample; the second layer is a nonlinear discriminant model, which is used to determine the subsample type. Numerical experiments on real data sets show that this method performs well compared to other classification algorithms, and its stability is better than the common discriminant models. Multiagent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) is a promising technique for agents learning effective coordinated policy in Multiagent Systems (MASs). In many MASs, interactions between agents are usually sparse, and then a lot of MARL methods were devised for them. These methods divide learning process into independent learning and joint learning in coordinated states to improve traditional joint state-action space learning. However, most of those methods identify coordinated states based on assumptions about domain structure (e.g., dependencies) or agent (e.g., prior individual optimal policy and agent homogeneity). Moreover, situations that current methods cannot deal with still exist. In this paper, a modified approach is proposed to learn where and how to coordinate agents’ behaviors in more general MASs with sparse interactions. Our approach introduces sample grouping and a more accurate metric of model difference degree to identify which states of other agents should be considered in coordinated states, without strong additional assumptions. Ecological balance is one of the most attractive topics in biological, environmental, earth sciences, and so on. However, due to the complexity of ecosystems, it is not easy to find a perfect way to conclusively explain all the potential impacts. In this paper, by considering several important elements, we seek to build a dynamic network model to predict the Earth's health, trying to identify and explain how the human behavior and policies affect the model results. We firstly empirically analyze both the topological properties and time-dependent features of nodes and propose an Earth's health index based on Shannon Entropy. Secondly, we identify the importance of each element by a machine learning approach. Thirdly, we use a spreading model to predict the Earth's health. Finally, we integrate the topological property and the proposed health index to identify the influential nodes in the observed ecological network. Experimental results show that the oceans are the key nodes in affecting the Earth's health, and Big countries are also important nodes in influencing the Earth's health.
