The article discusses the 2009 end-of-term meeting of the Children, Schools and Families Select Committee of the British Parliament. Vernon Coaker, the schools minister, was questioned on the School White Paper and school accountability. The main issue was the department's introduction of a school report card which would give all schools a single grade. This was seen by the committee as conflicting with the mission of the Office of Standards, Children's Education and Skills (OFSTED).
