While creating human being, Allah (God) has given people the ability of speaking to be able to express their feelings, thoughts, desires and needs. As the time passes, human beings started using body language besides verbal language. In the same period, there have been two different ways of expression: one is orally, and the other is bodily. In Arabic language, while talking about expression, first thing considered is verbalization which is related to colloquial language. There are many highly detailed books written about this subject. This paper tries to identify the expression as a body language. According to Cahiz, the expression has five functions including speaking, writing, gesture, the tongue of disposition, and account of hand. The paper mainly interested in gesture, the tongue of disposition and hand account which forms body language. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
