Human–robot cooperative tasks have gained importance with the emergence of robotics and artificial intelligence technology. In interactive reinforcement learning techniques, robots learn target tasks by receiving feedback from an experienced human trainer. However, most interactive reinforcement learning studies require a separate process to integrate the trainer's feedback into the training dataset, making it challenging for robots to learn new tasks from humans in real-time. Furthermore, the types of feedback sentences that trainers can use are limited in previous research. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a robot teaching strategy that uses deep RL via human–robot interaction to learn table balancing tasks interactively. The proposed system employs Deep Q-Network with real-time sentiment feedback delivered through the trainer's speech to learn cooperative tasks. We designed a novel reward function that incorporates sentiment feedback from human speech in real-time during the learning process. The paper presents an improved reward shaping technique based on subdivided feedback levels and shrinking feedback. This function serves as a guide for the robot to engage in natural interactions with humans and enables it to learn the tasks effectively. Proactive identification and the management of disruption risks play a crucial role in the achievement of a global supply chain's aims. Given the velocity and volume by which such disruption events occur, it is impractical to expect supply chain managers to determine the occurrence of such events manually. Given the pressures facing global supply chains due to the COVID-19 crisis, it is important for supply chain managers to proactively identify disruption risks to their supply chains and manage them to either achieve the outcomes or develop plans by which resilience against them can be built. In this paper, we demonstrate how the integration of natural language processing and reinforcement learning, which are fundamental artificial intelligence methods, can be used to assist supply chain risk managers in the timely identification of such disruption events. Finding a more efficient trading strategy has always been one of the main concerns in financial market trading. In order to create trading strategies that lead to higher profits, historical data must be used. Due to a large amount of financial data and various factors affecting them, algorithmic trading and, more recently, artificial intelligence are employed to overcome the decision-making complexity. This paper aims to introduce a new approach using Twin-Delayed DDPG (TD3) and the daily close price to create a trading strategy. As a continuous action space deep reinforcement learning algorithm, in contrast to the discrete ones, the TD3 provides us with both the number of trading shares and the trading positions. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, the comparison results of our approach and other commonly-used algorithms such as technical analysis, reinforcement learning, supervised learning, stochastic strategies, and deterministic strategies are reported. The past decade has witnessed the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially the explosion of deep learning-related connectionist approaches. This study combines traditional literature review, bibliometric methods, and the Science of Science (SciSci) theory to scrutinize the development context of AI in the last decade on AMiner. 4 4 www.aminer.cn , AMiner is an academic mining system, which will be introduced in the following section. With the assistance of AMiner tools and datasets, this paper aims to describe a further explicit context and evolution of AI in the past decade from the development of connectionist approaches. Five aspects of the past decade are highlighted: self-learning and self-coding algorithms, Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) algorithms, reinforcement learning, pre-trained models, and other typical deep learning algorithms, which represent the significant progress of this field. By combining these critical parts, we then summarize the current limitations and corresponding future of AI trends in the next decade and discuss some topics about the next generation of AI. Reducing emissions and energy consumption of autonomous vehicles is critical in the modern era. This paper presents an intelligent energy management system based on Reinforcement Learning (RL) for conventional autonomous vehicles. Furthermore, in order to improve the efficiency, a new exploration strategy is proposed to replace the traditional decayed ε-greedy strategy in the Q-learning algorithm associated with RL. Unlike traditional Q-learning algorithms, the proposed self-adaptive Q-learning (SAQ-learning) can be applied in real-time. The learning capability of the controllers can help the vehicle deal with unknown situations in real-time. Numerical simulations show that compared to other controllers, Q-learning and SAQ-learning controllers can generate the desired engine torque based on the vehicle road power demand and control the air/fuel ratio by changing the throttle angle efficiently in real-time. Also, the proposed real-time SAQ-learning is shown to improve the operational time by 23% compared to standard Q-learning. Developing expert systems that make use of artificial intelligence (AI) to provide predictive analytics as well as targeted recommendations for decision support has been gaining momentum in recent years. Both academia and industry are looking into creating such systems to solve real-world problems and tackle specific challenges. In our work, we investigate the potential application of different machine learning approaches to solutions around competitive cycling. Specifically, we build and evaluate prediction models that are capable of accurately predicting a cyclist's speed and heart rate using sensory information collected during bike rides. In addition, we create a recommendation module that is able to provide real-time action suggestions to cyclists regarding their posture with the goal of improving their overall performance. We achieve this using a combination of model-based reinforcement learning (RL) and deep RL. In particular, we use model-based RL to learn a "simulator" of bike rides using the prediction models and action profiles extracted from sensors placed on the cyclists' back. We then use deep Q-learning in the simulator to extract policies that improve a cyclist's behavior during a bike ride. Our evaluation shows that by recommending specific actions throughout the ride, cyclists can increase their overall average speed with only a minimal impact on their heart rate. Improvement of traffic signal control (TSC) efficiency has been found to lead to improved urban transportation and enhanced quality of life. Recently, the use of reinforcement learning (RL) in various areas of TSC has gained significant traction; thus, we conducted a systematic literature review as a systematic, comprehensive, and reproducible review to dissect all the existing research that applied RL in the network-level TSC domain, called as RL in NTSC or RL-NTSC for brevity. The review only targeted the network-level articles that tested the proposed methods in networks with two or more intersections. This review covers 160 peer-reviewed articles from 30 countries published from 1994 to March 2020. The goal of this study is to provide the research community with statistical and conceptual knowledge, summarize existence evidence, characterize RL applications in NTSC domains, explore all applied methods and major first events in the defined scope, and identify areas for further research based on the explored research problems in current research. We analyzed the extracted data from the included articles in the following seven categories: (i) publication and authors' data, (ii) method identification and analysis, (iii) environment attributes and traffic simulation, (iv) application domains of RL-NTSC, (v) major first events of RL-NTSC and authors' key statements, (vi) code availability, and (vii) evaluation. This paper provides a comprehensive view of the past 26 years of research on applying RL to NTSC. Learning to cooperate among agents has always been an important research topic in artificial intelligence. Multi-agent defense and attack, one of the important issues in multi-agent cooperation, requires multiple agents in the environment to learn effective strategies to achieve their goals. Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithms have natural advantages dealing with continuous control problems especially under situations with dynamic interactions, and have provided new solutions for those long-studied multi-agent cooperation problems. In this paper, we start from deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm and then introduce multi-agent DDPG (MADDPG) to solve the multi-agent defense and attack problem under different situations. We reconstruct the considered environment, redefine the continuous state space, continuous action space, reward functions accordingly, and then apply deep reinforcement learning algorithms to obtain effective decision strategies. Several experiments considering different confrontation scenarios are conducted to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the DRL-based methods. Experimental results show that through learning the agents can make better decisions, and learning with MADDPG achieves superior performance than learning with other DRL-based models, which also explains the importance and necessity of mastering other agents' information.
