The article describes techniques for firefighters who need to help people who are caught in machines, and offers an example scenario involving a man with his arms caught between the rollers of an industrial press, such as a paper press. Tools such as socket wrenches, wedges, and hoists are mentioned, and the psychological aspects of dealing with the scenario are described. Emergency medical response to crush syndrome is also mentioned.
