Frequent flyers have been shown to have a significant impact on airline long-term profitability, so it is becoming increasingly crucial to understand their needs. Objective of this paper is to forecast the next flight of frequent flyers, which will not only improve the customer experience but also assist airlines optimize their ticketing service platforms. In the data preparation phase, we use methods including data transformation and genetic algorithms (GA) to directly extract statistical features or excavate new predictors, which is inspired by the characteristics of the frequent flyers of Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX). We synthesize ensemble models, linear regression models, evolutionary computation models, and fusion models for prediction. The hyperparameters can be optimized by the Tree-structured Parzen Estimator (TPE). After extensive comparison, the model developed with the average fusion strategy obtains the best prediction on the test set with a minimal MSLE of 0.7893. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper intends to propose an integrated hybrid algorithm for training radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) learning. The proposed integrated of particle swarm and genetic algorithm based optimization (IPGO) algorithm is composed of two approaches based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) and genetic algorithm (GA) for gathering both their virtues to improve the learning performance of RBFNN. The diversity of individuals results in higher chance to search in the direction of global optimal instead of being confined to local optimal particularly in problem with higher complexity. The IPGO algorithm with PSO-based and GA-based approaches has shown promising results in some benchmark problems with three continuous test functions. After proposing the algorithm for these problems with result providing its outperforming performance, this paper supplements a practical application case for the papaya milk sales forecasting to expound the superiority of the IPGO algorithm. In addition, model evaluation results of the case have showed that the IPGO algorithm outperforms other algorithms and auto-regressive moving average (ARMA) models in terms of forecasting accuracy and execution time. The paper demonstrates the efficient use of hybrid intelligent systems for solving the classification problem of splice-junction gene sequences. The aim of the study is to obtain classification schemes able to recognize, given a sequence of DNA, the boundaries between exons and introns. Previous attempts to form efficient classifiers for the same problem using intelligent or standard statistical techniques are discussed throughout the paper. The authors propose the use of evolutionary neural logic networks, an advantageous approach for their ability to interpret their structure into expert rules, a desirable feature for field experts. Evolutionary neural logic networks in fact consist an innovative hybrid intelligent methodology, by which evolutionary programming techniques are used for obtaining the best possible topology of a neural logic network. The genetic programming process is guided using a context-free grammar and indirect encoding of the neural logic networks into the genetic programming individuals. Accurate time series forecasting are important for displaying the manner in which the past continues to affect the future and for planning our day to-day activities. In recent years, a large literature has evolved on the use of evolving artificial neural networks (EANN) in many forecasting applications. Evolving neural networks are particularly appealing because of their ability to model an unspecified non-linear relationship between time series variables. In this work, a new approach of a previous Automatic Design of Artificial Neural Networks (ADANN) system applied to forecast time series is tackled. The automatic process to design artificial neural networks is carried out by a genetic algorithm (GA). These new methods, in order to get an accurate forecasting, are related with: shuffling training and validation patterns obtained from time series values and trying to improve the fitness function used in the global learning process (i.e. GA) using a new patterns set called validation II apart of the two used till the moment (i.e. training and validation). The object of this study is to try to improve the final forecasting getting an accurate system. A complex model for evolving the update strategy of a Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO) algorithm is described in this paper. The model is a hybrid technique that combines a Genetic Algorithm (GA) and a PSO algorithm. Each GA chromosome is an array encoding a meaning for updating the particles of the PSO algorithm. The Evolved PSO algorithm is compared to several human-designed PSO algorithms by using ten artificially constructed functions and one real-world problem. Numerical experiments show that the Evolved PSO algorithm performs similarly and sometimes even better than the Standard approaches for the considered problems. This paper deals with the need for generic software development tools in evolutionary computations (EC). These tools will be essential for the next generation of evolutionary algorithms where application designers and researchers will need to mix different combinations of traditional EC (e.g. genetic algorithms, genetic programming, evolutionary strategies, etc.), or to create new variations of these EC, in order to solve complex real world problems. Six basic principles are proposed to guide the development of such tools. These principles are then used to evaluate six freely available, widely used EC software tools. The use of Genetic Algorithms (GAs) to evolve Continuous Time Recurrent Neural Networks (CTRNNs) for locomotion control of a hexapod robot was demonstrated in previous work. Those controllers were shown to be robust to loss of sensory information and other peripheral variations and their operation was explained through qualitative dynamical systems analysis. Although real robot controllers were fielded, our prior methods contained drawbacks limiting the attractiveness of their implementation as real devices. These included centralization of the evolutionary learning algorithms and the inability of those algorithms to evolve effective controllers without inclusion of a priori architectural knowledge. In this paper, we will introduce a generic neuromorphic Evolvable Hardware (EH) learning architecture and show how it can be used to overcome these previous difficulties. We will also introduce a novel modification to previously reported EH methods that improves search efficacy. We will discuss our previous work, introduce relevant concepts from the emerging field of evolvable hardware as well as our chip, and show how it can be used to deliver effective and practical locomotion control. We will focus especially on the integrated systems abilities to self-heal and reconfigure while in service and will examine centralized, decentralized, and hybrid learning configurations.
