This review paper provides a brief review on the development of ideas in the fields of the sea level change of the ECS (East China Sea), the history of the Yangtze River entering the sea and paleochannels in the shelf of the ECS since the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). The paper summarizes two opposite theories about the Yangtze River entering the sea during the LGM. One theory is that the Yangtze River input a lacustrine in the north of Jiangsu province which was defunct in middle Holocene, and the river was once dry. The other was that the Yangtze River still existed and entered into the Okinawa Trough during the LGM, but scholars share different opinions on which course the river ran across and which place the river input the trough. This paper concludes future work is to study the evolution of the Yangtze River and the paleoclimate and the corresponding events as a whole from the view of regional and even global change, and more attention should be paid to the study on mud sediment, the Yangtze River's response to the changes in climate and sea-level, and the channel metamorphosis. Shi, H. and Xing, Y., 2015. The development of rotterdam port enlightenment to the ports of Jiangsu. Rotterdam Port has become a world-class port and the most important port for the continent of Europe. This paper can be divided into four parts. The first part is an introduction to the whole paper. The second part is a general background to port logistics' development and water transportation, and there are also a simple introduction to Rotterdam port and the ports of Jiangsu. It also contains a detailed introduction to the port of Rotterdam and describes the new trends of world ports based on Rotterdam Port's development history. The next part is an analysis of the ports of Jiangsu in comparison with the Rotterdam port by looking at the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Coastal pollution is an undesirable output of cross-border trade. This paper demonstrates coastal aggregate pollution levels as unilateral and multilateral environmental tax changes in differentiated sectors under the assumption of heterogeneity in productivity and monopolistic competition in an open economic circumstance. Coastal economies will accelerate as a result of trade, but pollution levels are also expected to rise. This paper finds that when the government's environmental policy is biased towards unilateral financial sanctions, the environmental pollution will increase, while multilateral financial sanctions will reduce the environmental pollution. In this paper, the emphasis on coastal areas and marine economy is added to the setting of the model, and it is believed that industrial pollution control can be realized by enhancing industrial competitiveness in coastal environmental governance. This paper applies this conclusion to the pollution control of ports in Jiangsu Province, and puts forward feasible environmental policy suggestions in the near future development of port and marine economy. The development of regional economy and strategic decision-making are inseparable from cultural development, and the continuous accumulation and dissemination of marine culture have provided a direction for the development of coastal cities and their industrial planning. Marine culture does not exist by itself but attaches to an entity and reflects through it. Based on the marine culture of Jiangsu Province, China, this paper analyzes the development characteristics of marine culture in Jiangsu Province, and explores landscape design schemes for coastal cities. The research results show that the marine culture industry in Jiangsu Province presents three spatial structures: the scatter structure, the pole-axis structure, and the network structure. The development trend gets more inclined to the alliance regional linkage model and the virtual creative industry park model. In terms of overall planning, detailed planning and design, the landscape design should pay close attention to the role of coastline and skyline. The landscape design in some coastal cities in Jiangsu Province has fully reflected the economic value of coastal cities. Industrial cluster is the phenomenon of the agglomeration of closely linked economic entities in a certain region. The phenomenon of industrial cluster is more and more obvious in the international shipbuilding industry. Cluster analysis has become an important strategic tool for the development of shipbuilding industry in various regions. Industrial clusters have many advantages, such as reducing production costs, strengthening collaborative innovation, creating market brands, and improving market competitiveness, which has been proved to be an efficient form of production organization by many practices at home and abroad. Influenced by the international financial crisis, the international shipping market is in a downturn. Taking Jiangsu shipbuilding industry cluster as an example, this paper constructs a complex network map of shipbuilding industry cluster. Then, this paper quantitatively evaluates the agglomeration degree of shipbuilding industry clusters in coastal areas by using the location entropy coefficient. This paper focuses on the process-based morphodynamic modeling of a mudflat dominated by a long-shore tidal current. The model is schematized as a shore-parallel tidal basin with dimensions similar to the tidal flats near the Wanggang Mouth at the central Jiangsu coast, China. A long-shore tidal current and associated sediment transport are dominant in comparison with their cross-shore components. The mudflat evolution is reproduced for both the case with abundant sediment supply and that with insufficient sediment supply. The simulated flow patterns agree qualitatively with field observations from literature, i.e., involving tidal asymmetry, current directions, and tidal wave features. The analysis of sediment fluxes depicts that deposition occurs from spring tide to neap tide and erosion from neap tide to spring tide. The results show that siltation on intertidal flats is favored by flood dominance, as well as settling and scour lag effects, with less dependence on sediment supply. However, subtidal flats are strongly affected by sediment supply. The simulated double-convex cross-shore profile associated with an abundant sediment supply is qualitatively consistent with field observations. An insufficient sediment supply causes erosion and consequent widening of the subtidal flats. Finally, the practical case with an initial sand seabed is reproduced. The long-shore sediment transport contributes to long-shore variations of cross-shore profiles. Deposition rates increase clearly southward in the area between the lower intertidal and middle subtidal flats when sediment supply is abundant. In contrast, deposition rates increase southward only slightly when sediment supply is insufficient. In addition, stronger sediment supply generates wider intertidal flats. Chinese water resources are abundant yet remain insufficient per capita. Groundwater is thus becoming an important water resource. Taking Jiangsu Province as an example, this paper studies and constructs a sustainable trading mode for a groundwater primary market based on the principle of sustainable development. After examining different uses of groundwater, the study confirms that differentiated trading methods for water rights have been adopted since initial water resources allocation, combining a market mechanism with government regulation, and that the trade mode will promote win–win development of the economy and the environment. The research on the coupling relationship between economic systems and water resources systems has always been a hot topic in the academic field. Due to the characteristics of its own economy and water resources environment, it is particularly necessary to study the coupling mechanism between the economic system and the water resources system in coastal areas. Based on the coupling system perspective, this paper constructs the coupling mechanism model of the economic system and the water resources system. On this basis, the author obtains the following conclusions through the research on Jiangsu coastal areas: (1) There is a complex coupling mechanism between the economic system and the water resources system. When the operation of the two systems conflicts, the water resources system will send a response signal to the economic system. (2) The coupling state between the economic system and the water resource system in Jiangsu coastal area showed a better coordinated situation from 2000 to 2011. From 2012 to 2014, the coupling between the economic system and the water resources system weakened and was in a state of basic coordination. Jiangsu is located in the Yangtze River Delta and many cities represented by Lianyungang and Yangzhou have coastal resources. Therefore, the coastal area of Jiangsu has unique ecological environment conditions, and its future development potential is huge. In order to promote a sustainable future, through the investigation of the ecological development of coastal sports, this paper finds that the current environmental protection status of coastal sports tourism is not optimistic by means of questionnaire survey and expert interview. This is mainly reflected in the low environmental awareness of employees and tourists, and the insufficient environmental protection of facilities in sports. Using PEST model, it can be found that ecological sports projects in Jiangsu coastal area need to be promoted at the administration level, with emphasis on increasing investment in technological innovation and environmental protection training. Accurate identification of the source and transmission mechanism of price fluctuation in an economic zone is not only conducive to maintaining price stability and promoting the healthy development of the regional economy, but also its interaction can reflect the degree of integration of economic development among the main bodies in the region. However, few studies have explored the comprehensive price interaction in the integrated economic zone. Therefore, this paper chose the consumer price index (CPI) data of each province in the Yangtze River Delta economic zone to empirically analyze the CPI interaction cross the economic zone. The results showed that CPI fluctuation in Shanghai has a greater influence on CPI fluctuation in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Shanghai and Jiangsu are each other's Granger causality, and Jiangsu and Zhejiang are each other's Granger causality. The results indicated that Shanghai and Jiangsu have highly integrated industrial and market structures, whereas Zhejiang has a relatively independent industrial and market structure.
