An electronic health (e-health) system, such as a medical cyber-physical system, offers a number of benefits (e.g. inform medical diagnosis). There are, however, a number of considerations in the implementation of the medical cyber-physical system, such as the integrity of medical / healthcare data (e.g. manipulated data can result in misdiagnosis). A number of digital signature schemes have been proposed in recent years to mitigate some of these challenges. However, the security of existing signatures is mostly based on conventional difficult mathematical problems, which are known to be insecure against quantum attacks. In this paper, we propose a certificateless signature scheme, based on NTRU lattice. The latter is based on the difficulty of small integer solutions on the NTRU lattice, and is known to be quantum attack resilience. Security analysis and performance evaluations demonstrate that our proposed scheme achieves significantly reduced communication and computation costs in comparison to two other competing quantum resilience schemes, while being quantum attack resilience. Modern network technology yields new interface for telecare medicine information systems in short TMIS used for patient's healthcare. This system is used to provide healthcare services to patients at their home. It can be observed, telecare medicine information systems generally suffer several attacks as information being transmitted over a public network. Therefore, various authentication and key agreement schemes are proposed for TMIS to ensure secure and authorized patients communication over given public network. However, most of the schemes fail to achieve essential attributes discussed in this article. Although the key attributes of security and efficiency should be achieved in a common framework. This paper proposes construction of an RSA based authentication scheme for authorized access to healthcare services and achieves desirable key attributes of authentication protocols. Due to lack of a central bureaucrat in mobile ad hoc networks, the security of the network becomes serious issue. During malicious attacks, according to the motivation of intruder the severity of the threat varies. It may lead to loss of data, energy or throughput. This paper proposes a lightweight Intruder Node Detection and Isolation Action mechanism (INDIA) using feature extraction, feature optimization and classification techniques. The indirect and direct trust features are extracted from each node and the total trust feature is computed by combining them. The trust features are extracted from each node of MANET and these features are optimized using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm as feature optimization technique. These optimized feature sets are then classified using Neural Networks (NN) classifier which identifies the intruder node. The performance of the proposed methodology is studied in terms of various parameters such as success rate in packet delivery, delay in communication and the amount of energy consumption for identifying and isolating the intruder. In mobile health care monitoring, compression is an essential tool for solving storage and transmission problems. The important issue is able to recover the original signal from the compressed signal. The main purpose of this paper is compressing the ECG signal with no loss of essential data and also encrypting the signal to keep it confidential from everyone, except for physicians. In this paper, mobile processors are used and there is no need for any computers to serve this purpose. After initial preprocessing such as removal of the baseline noise, Gaussian noise, peak detection and determination of heart rate, the ECG signal is compressed. In compression stage, after 3 steps of wavelet transform (db04), thresholding techniques are used. Then, Huffman coding with chaos for compression and encryption of the ECG signal are used. Cryptography is not only a science of applying complex mathematics and logic to design strong methods to hide data called as encryption, but also to retrieve the original data back, called decryption. The purpose of cryptography is to transmit a message between a sender and receiver such that an eavesdropper is unable to comprehend it. To accomplish this, not only we need a strong algorithm, but a strong key and a strong concept for encryption and decryption process. We have introduced a concept of DNA Deep Learning Cryptography which is defined as a technique of concealing data in terms of DNA sequence and deep learning. In the cryptographic technique, each alphabet of a letter is converted into a different combination of the four bases, namely; Adenine (A), Cytosine (C), Guanine (G) and Thymine (T), which make up the human deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Actual implementations with the DNA don't exceed laboratory level and are expensive. To bring DNA computing on a digital level, easy and effective algorithms are proposed in this paper. In the wireless sensor network(WSN) security is a major issue. There are several network security schemes proposed in research. In the network, malicious nodes obstruct the performance of the network. The network can be vulnerable by Sybil attack. When a node illicitly assertions multiple identities or claims fake IDs, the WSN grieves from an attack named Sybil attack. This attack threatens wireless sensor network in data aggregation, synchronizing system, routing, fair resource allocation and misbehavior detection. Henceforth, the research is carried out to prevent the Sybil attack and increase the performance of the network. This paper presents the novel security mechanism and Fujisaki Okamoto algorithm and also application of the work. The paper presents a network coded cooperative communication (NC-CC) enabled wireless hospital sensor network architecture for monitoring health as well as postural activities of a patient. A wearable device, referred as a smartband is interfaced with pulse rate, body temperature sensors and an accelerometer along with wireless protocol services, such as Bluetooth and Radio-Frequency transceiver and Wi-Fi. The energy efficiency of wearable device is improved by embedding a linear acceleration based transmission duty cycling algorithm (NC-DRDC). The real-time demonstration is carried-out in a hospital environment to evaluate the performance characteristics, such as power spectral density, energy consumption, signal to noise ratio, packet delivery ratio and transmission offset. The resource sharing and energy efficiency features of network coding technique are improved by proposing an algorithm referred as network coding based dynamic retransmit/rebroadcast decision control (LA-TDC). From the experimental results, it is observed that the proposed LA-TDC algorithm reduces network traffic and end-to-end delay by an average of 27.8% and 21.6%, respectively than traditional network coded wireless transmission. Medical data are often maintained by different organizations. However, detailed analyses sometimes require these datasets to be integrated without violating patient or commercial privacy. Multiparty Private Set Intersection (MPSI), which is an important privacy-preserving protocol, computes an intersection of multiple private datasets. This approach ensures that only designated parties can identify the intersection. In this paper, we propose a practical MPSI that satisfies the following requirements: The size of the datasets maintained by the different parties is independent of the others, and the computational complexity of the dataset held by each party is independent of the number of parties. Our MPSI is based on the use of an outsourcing provider, who has no knowledge of the data inputs or outputs. This reduces the computational complexity. The performance of the proposed MPSI is evaluated by implementing a prototype on a virtual private network to enable parallel computation in multiple threads. In recent years, many countries have been trying to integrate electronic health data managed by each hospital to offer more efficient healthcare services. Since health data contain sensitive information of patients, there have been much research that present privacy preserving mechanisms. However, existing studies either require a patient to perform various steps to secure the data or restrict the patient to exerting control over the data. In this paper, we propose patient-controlled attribute-based encryption, which enables a patient (a data owner) to control access to the health data and reduces the operational burden for the patient, simultaneously. With our method, the patient has powerful control capability of his/her own health data in that he/she has the final say on the access with time limitation. In addition, our scheme provides emergency medical services which allow the emergency staffs to access the health data without the patient's permission only in the case of emergencies. To enhance the quality of healthcare in the management of chronic disease, telecare medical information systems have increasingly been used. Very recently, Zhang and Qi ( J. Med. Syst. 38(5):47, ), and Zhao ( J. Med. Syst. 38(5):46, ) separately proposed two authentication schemes for telecare medical information systems using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. They claimed that their protocols achieve all security requirements including forward secrecy. However, this paper demonstrates that both Zhang and Qi's scheme, and Zhao's scheme could not provide forward secrecy. To augment the security, we propose an efficient RFID authentication scheme using elliptic curves for healthcare environments. The proposed RFID scheme is secure under common random oracle model. Security and privacy are the first and foremost concerns that should be given special attention when dealing with Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs). As WBAN sensors operate in an unattended environment and carry critical patient health information, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is one of the major attacks in WBAN environment that not only exhausts the available resources but also influence the reliability of information being transmitted. This research work is an extension of our previous work in which a machine learning based attack detection algorithm is proposed to detect DDoS attack in WBAN environment. However, in order to avoid complexity, no consideration was given to the traceback mechanism. During traceback, the challenge lies in reconstructing the attack path leading to identify the attack source. Among existing traceback techniques, Probabilistic Packet Marking (PPM) approach is the most commonly used technique in conventional IP- based networks. However, since marking probability assignment has significant effect on both the convergence time and performance of a scheme, it is not directly applicable in WBAN environment due to high convergence time and overhead on intermediate nodes. Therefore, in this paper we have proposed a new scheme called Efficient Traceback Technique (ETT) based on Dynamic Probability Packet Marking (DPPM) approach and uses MAC header in place of IP header. Instead of using fixed marking probability, the proposed scheme uses variable marking probability based on the number of hops travelled by a packet to reach the target node. Finally, path reconstruction algorithms are proposed to traceback an attacker. Many research works have attempted to introduce passive RFID technology into medical systems to reduce medical errors. However, most of these proposed works focused on identifying patients and objects. If an RFID based medical system is only good for identifying patients and medical objects but not capable of halting any medical process immediately, then it is not possible to prevent medical errors from happening. Our research focuses on a mechanism to detect and to avoid medical harm before it occurs to patients. In this paper, we propose to incorporate multiple-constraints into the authorization scheme and used this scheme as a basis for implementing a medical management system avoiding medical errors to assist medical staff. Specifically, our scheme ensures that a medical operation is if and only if enabled when the constraints are being satisfied that an 'identified patient' is being treated by a 'certified medical staff member' within an 'authorized area'. In practical environments, our authorization scheme can be applied to various healthcare applications, and we develop a prototype system and test it in three applications: X-ray control, specimen collection, and blood transfusion management. The experimental results show that the system can be used to enable X-ray when the X-ray is in authorized location and operated by authorized operator. For the specimen collection and blood transfusion, the logs showing which medical staff has done specimen or blood transfusion on which patient at authorized location are correctly recorded into Hospital Information System (HIS). In this paper, the problem of secure transmission of sensitive contents over the public network Internet is addressed by proposing a novel data hiding method in encrypted images with dual-level security. The secret information is divided into three blocks using a specific pattern, followed by an encryption mechanism based on the three-level encryption algorithm (TLEA). The input image is scrambled using a secret key, and the encrypted sub-message blocks are then embedded in the scrambled image by cyclic18 least significant bit (LSB) substitution method, utilizing LSBs and intermediate LSB planes. Furthermore, the cover image and its planes are rotated at different angles using a secret key prior to embedding, deceiving the attacker during data extraction. The usage of message blocks division, TLEA, image scrambling, and the cyclic18 LSB method results in an advanced security system, maintaining the visual transparency of resultant images and increasing the security of embedded data. In addition, employing various secret keys for image scrambling, data encryption, and data hiding using the cyclic18 LSB method makes the data recovery comparatively more challenging for attackers. Experimental results not only validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework in terms of visual quality and security compared to other state-of-the-art methods, but also suggest its feasibility for secure transmission of diagnostically important keyframes to healthcare centers and gastroenterologists during wireless capsule endoscopy. This paper, proposes a chaotic visual cryptosystem using an empirical mode decomposition (EMD) algorithm for clinical electroencephalography (EEG) signals. The basic design concept is to integrate two-dimensional (2D) chaos-based encryption scramblers, the EMD algorithm, and a 2D block interleaver method to achieve a robust and unpredictable visual encryption mechanism. Energy-intrinsic mode function (IMF) distribution features of the clinical EEG signal are developed for chaotic encryption parameters. The maximum and second maximum energy ratios of the IMFs of a clinical EEG signal to its refereed total energy are used for the starting points of chaotic logistic map types of encrypted chaotic signals in the x and y vectors, respectively. The minimum and second minimum energy ratios of the IMFs of a clinical EEG signal to its refereed total energy are used for the security level parameters of chaotic logistic map types of encrypted chaotic signals in the x and y vectors, respectively. Three EEG database, and seventeen clinical EEG signals were tested, and the average r and mse values are 0.0201 and 4.2626 × 10, respectively, for the original and chaotically-encrypted through EMD clinical EEG signals. The chaotically-encrypted signal cannot be recovered if there is an error in the input parameters, for example, an initial point error of 0.000001 %. Due to the development of information technologies and network technologies, healthcare systems have been employed in many countries. As an important part of healthcare systems, the wireless body area network (WBAN) could bring convenience to both patients and physicians because it could help physicians to monitor patients' physiological values remotely. It is essential to ensure secure communication in WBANs because patients' physiological values are very sensitive. Recently, Liu et al. proposed an efficient authentication scheme for WBANs. Unfortunately, Zhao pointed out that their scheme suffered from the stolen verifier-table attack. To improve security and efficiency, Zhao proposed an anonymous authentication scheme for WBANs. However, Zhao's scheme cannot provide real anonymity because the users' pseudo identities are constant value and the attack could tract the users. In this paper, we propose a new anonymous authentication scheme for WBANs. Security analysis shows that the proposed scheme could overcome weaknesses in previous scheme. Searchable encryption is an important cryptographic primitive that enables privacy-preserving keyword search on encrypted electronic medical records (EMRs) in cloud storage. Efficiency of such searchable encryption in a medical cloud storage system is very crucial as it involves client platforms such as smartphones or tablets that only have constrained computing power and resources. In this paper, we propose an efficient secure-channel free public key encryption with keyword search (SCF-PEKS) scheme that is proven secure in the standard model. We show that our SCF-PEKS scheme is not only secure against chosen keyword and ciphertext attacks (IND-SCF-CKCA), but also secure against keyword guessing attacks (IND-KGA). To provide a search functionality for encrypted data, public key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) has been widely recognized. In actual usage, a PEKS scheme should be employed with a PKE scheme since PEKS itself does not support the decryption of data. Since a naive composition of a PEKS ciphertext and a PKE ciphertext does not provide CCA security, several attempts have been made to integrate PEKS and PKE in a joint CCA manner (PEKS/PKE for short). In this paper, we further extend these works by integrating secure-channel free PEKS (SCF-PEKS) and PKE, which we call SCF-PEKS/PKE, where no secure channel is required to send trapdoors. We give a formal security definition of SCF-PEKS/PKE in a joint CCA manner, and propose a generic construction of SCF-PEKS/PKE based on anonymous identity-based encryption, tag-based encryption, and one-time signature. We also strengthen the current consistency definition according to the secure-channel free property, and show that our construction is strongly consistent if the underlying IBE provides unrestricted strong collision-freeness which is defined in this paper. We also show that such an IBE scheme can be constructed by employing the Abdalla et al. transformations (TCC 2010/J. Cryptology 2018). This paper proposes an innovative image cryptosystem algorithm using the properties of the block encryption, 4D logistic map and DNA systems. Multiple key sequences are generated and pixel substitution is performed by using nonlinear 4D logistic map, then encryption is performed by using DNA rules to ensure that the different blocks are encrypted securely. The results of the experiment indicate that the proposed Non Linear 4D Logistic Map and DNA (NL4DLM_DNA) sequence based algorithm gives better performance, which is analyzed on the basis of security, quality, attack resilience, diffusion and running time as compared to some previous works. For authentication purposes, the identification and verification of a user is done by biometric traits like finger print, face, iris and gait, etc. Among the various traits finger print is mostly used in commercial applications for recognizing user's identity. The other hand based modalities such as vein, and finger knuckle are gaining importance. This paper proposes a methodology for secure biometrics authentication using Finger Knuckle Print (FKP). The texture patterns from finger knuckle are extracted using Gabor with Exception-Maximization (EM) algorithm and the feature vectors from these texture patterns are acquired using Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm. The main focus is to reduce the false rejection rate without increasing the false acceptance rate and to improve the performance over the conventional hand based modalities. Big data has become one of the most imperative technologies for collecting, handling and analysing enormous volumes of data in a high-performance environment. Enterprise healthcare organizations needs high compute power for the large volume of sensitive data, as well as large storage for storing both data and results, preferably in the cloud. However, security and privacy of patient data have become a critical issue that restricts many healthcare services from using cloud services to their optimal level. Therefore, this issue has limited healthcare organizations from migrating patient data to a cloud storage, because the cloud operators have chance to access sensitive data without the owner's permission. This paper proposes an intelligent security system called Intelligent Framework for Healthcare Data Security (IFHDS). IFHDS enables to secure and process large-scale data using column-based approach with less impact on the performance of data processing. The intelligent framework intends masking personal data and to encrypt sensitive data only. The proposed IFHDS splits sensitive data into multiple parts according to sensitivity level, where each part is stored separately over distributed cloud storage. Splitting data based on sensitivity level prevents cloud provider to break complete record of data if succeeds to decrypt part of data. The boom of Internet of Things devices promotes huge volumes of eHealthcare data will be collected and aggregated at eHealthcare provider. With the help of these health data, eHealthcare provider can offer reliable data service (e.g., k-NN query) to doctors for better diagnosis. However, the IT facility in the eHealthcare provider is incompetent with the huge volumes of eHealthcare data, so one popular solution is to deploy a powerful cloud and appoint the cloud to execute the k-NN query service. In this case, since the eHealthcare data are very sensitive yet cloud servers are not fully trusted, directly executing the k-NN query service in the cloud inevitably incurs privacy challenges. Apart from the privacy issues, efficiency issues also need to be taken into consideration because achieving privacy requirement will incur additional computational cost. However, existing focuses on k-NN query do not (fully) consider the data privacy or are inefficient. For instance, the best computational complexity of k-NN query over encrypted eHealthcare data in the cloud is as large as O (k log 3 N) , where N is the total number of data. In this paper, aiming at addressing the privacy and efficiency challenges, we design an efficient and privacy-preserving k-NN query scheme for encrypted outsourced eHealthcare data. Our proposed scheme is characterized by integrating the k d-tree with the homomorphic encryption technique for efficient storing encrypted data in the cloud and processing privacy-preserving k-NN query over encrypted data. Compared with existing works, our proposed scheme is more efficient in terms of privacy-preserving k-NN query. Specifically, our proposed scheme can achieve k-NN computation over encrypted data with O (lk log N) computational complexity, where l and N respectively denote the data dimension and the total number of data. In addition, detailed security analysis shows that our proposed scheme is really privacy-preserving under our security model and performance evaluation also indicates that our proposed scheme is indeed efficient in terms of computational cost. In AES, the total time taken by the architecture while implementing in low power and high-speed circuit is the most important thing that to be considered. Also in AES, implementing S-Boxes consumes the major part of the total time consumed by the entire architecture. In this research paper, we propose a very low-power and high efficient S-Box circuit architecture: a multi-stage modified version of PPRM architecture over composite fields. In this modified S box design, only AND and Hazard transparent XOR gates are used. Because of this architecture dynamic hazards which form the main aspect of power consumption in S box gets eliminated. A low propagation delay of 4.58 ns and occupies 120 slices in the xilinx FPGA device xc6vlx75t-3ff784, while the low propagation delay and slice area is 5.552 ns and 120 respectively for the conventional PPRM architecture. Medical image security is an essential method for secure the sensitive data when computerized images and their relevant patient data are transmitted across public networks. In this paper, the dual encryption procedure is utilized to encrypt the medical images. Initially Blowfish Encryption is considered and then signcryption algorithm is utilized to confirm the encryption model. Internet of Things (IoT) provides the collection of devices in different applications in which Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is placed an crucial role. So, in this paper an application for cross layer protocol design architecture of Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) has been proposed. It replaces the protocol architecture of WBAN (IEEE 802.15.6), WMAN (IEEE 802.16), and 3G, WLAN (IEEE 802.11) or wired networks. The lightweight secure system provides secure data transmission and access control mechanisms by using ECDA-based proxy signature algorithm. The efficiency of the system is implemented using simulation models that were developed using NS-2, and the results obtained shows an optimum solution in terms of delay, PDR, throughput, jitter, packet transmission time, dropping ratio and packet delivery. Wireless body area network (WBAN) provides a medium through which physiological information could be harvested and transmitted to application provider (AP) in real time. We then use this scheme to design a heterogeneous access control protocol. Abstract: This paper will present the application potential of the cognitive approach to data interpretation, with special reference to medical areas.
