In wireless sensor networks, location information is crucial to effectively use the event information recorded by the sensors. However, localizing mobile sensor nodes in resource-constrained networks presents several challenges, including determining the optimal number of anchor nodes, handling mobility, designing a path loss model, considering network topology, and addressing scalability and the number of localized nodes. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a coordinate-based auto-localization algorithm (CALA) with a single anchor node for mobile sensor nodes. The proposed algorithm uses an analytical model to determine the location of the target node by considering a parallel coordinate system and retrieving the original location of the target node by moving it to two different locations. The algorithm uses received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values for distance calculation while considering Rayleigh fading in the path loss model. The proposed algorithm's performance is evaluated using various parameter settings, including mobility, node density, fading, path loss exponent, and different random seed values. The study finds that fading and path loss significantly influence the localization process, leading to an accuracy range of 10 to 30% when measuring distances using RSSI. The proposed method shows a 30% improvement in localization accuracy when the number of nodes increases from 5 to 20, achieving an average localization accuracy of 90% in a network with 20 sensor nodes. Furthermore, the study offers an in-depth investigation of the effect of various random generating situations on localization accuracy. As a significant branch of production scheduling problem, the Flexibility Job Shop Scheduling Problem (FJSP) is a typical NP-hard problem. Most conventional flexible workshop scheduling primarily focuses on performance aspects involving production efficiency such as time and quality. In recent years, due to increased energy costs and environmental pollution, 'low-carbon scheduling' has garnered attention as a new scheduling paradigm among scholars and engineers. This paper investigates a low-carbon flexible Job shop scheduling problem, proposing a Grey Wolf Optimization algorithm (SC-GWO), aiming to minimize the sum of carbon emission costs and makespan costs. This algorithm employs the Grey Wolf Algorithm (GWO) as the fundamental optimization method, adaptively choosing between global and local searches based on the dispersion degree of individuals. Firstly, integrating the Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA), the sinusoidal cosine search mechanism is applied to GWO to enhance its local search capability. Secondly, a new leader selection mechanism is introduced to prevent leaders from falling into local optima, thus improving the algorithm's global exploration capability. Utilizing a nonlinear convergence factor strategy controls the global exploration and local exploitation capabilities in different algorithm stages, enhancing optimization accuracy and accelerating convergence, achieving a dynamic balance between the two. Finally, validation of the SC-GWO algorithm's ability to solve low-carbon scheduling problems in flexible job shop scheduling instances is conducted. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of SC-GWO in solving low-carbon flexible workshop scheduling instances. Comparative experiments against four other advanced algorithms on 22 classic benchmark test functions confirm SC-GWO's better convergence. Through standard test functions like Bandimarte instances applied to solve FJSP, experimental results showcase the excellent optimization performance of SC-GWO. Compared to HGWO and GWO, the makespan time is reduced by 22.25% and 39.27%, respectively. This paper proposes the Love Evolution Algorithm (LEA), a novel evolutionary algorithm inspired by the stimulus–value–role theory. The optimization process of the LEA includes three phases: stimulus, value, and role. Both partners evolve through these phases and benefit from them regardless of the outcome of the relationship. This inspiration is abstracted into mathematical models for global optimization. The efficiency of the LEA is validated through numerical experiments with CEC2017 benchmark functions, outperforming seven metaheuristic algorithms as evidenced by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Friedman test. Further tests using the CEC2022 benchmark functions confirm the competitiveness of the LEA compared to seven state-of-the-art metaheuristics. Lastly, the study extends to real-world problems, demonstrating the performance of the LEA across eight diverse engineering problems. One of the most important strategies used to mitigate the adverse impacts of traffic growth on mobile networks is caching. By caching at the edge, the backhaul traffic load is reduced, and the quality of service for the user is increased. Developing an effective caching algorithm requires accurate prediction of the future popularity of the content, which is a challenging issue. In recent years, deep learning models have achieved high predictive accuracy due to advancements in data availability and increased computing power. In this paper, we present a caching algorithm called the user preference-aware content caching algorithm (UPACA). This algorithm is specifically designed for an edge content delivery platform where users can access content services provided by a remote content provider. UPACA operates in two steps. In the first step, the proposed collaborative filtering-based popularity prediction algorithm (CFPA) is used to predict future content popularities. CFPA utilizes a gated residual variational autoencoder collaborative filtering model to predict users' future preferences and calculate the future popularity of content. This algorithm considers the popularity of the content as well as the number and timing of content requests. Due to the large computational requirements of object detection algorithms, high-resolution remote sensing vehicle detection always involves numerous small objects, high level of background complexity, and challenges in balancing model accuracy and parameter count. The attention mechanism and efficient architecture lightweight-YOLO (AMEA-YOLO) is proposed in this paper. A lightweight network as the backbone network of AMEA-YOLO is designed, and it could maintain model accuracy and ensure good lightweight. FasterNet is employed to accelerate model training speed. The enhanced deep second-order channel attention module (EnhancedSOCA) is utilized to improve the image high-resolution. In addition, a lightweight module is devised to further reduce the model's weight. The implementation of the HardSwish activation function improves model accuracy. Power system operators are faced with the problem of unit commitment belonging to mixed integer programming, which becomes very complicated, as units become large-scale and highly constrained. Because unit commitment problem is a binary problem with commitment and de-commitment, a discrete/binary optimization algorithm with superior performance is required. This paper proposes a novel hybrid binary bat algorithm for unit commitment problem, which consists of two process. To begin with, the proposed binary bat algorithm is applied to determining the commitment schedule of unit commitment problem. Specifically, an improved crossover operator based on exponential-logic-modulo map is proposed to enhance the convergence and maintain the diversity of populations. To prevent the algorithm from falling into a local optimum, a local mutation strategy performs local perturbation. Chaotic map is responsible for updating some parameters to increase the performance of the proposed algorithm. Furthermore, Lambda-iteration method is adopted to solve economic load dispatch in continuous space. Constraint handling is performed using the heuristic constraint produce. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by benchmark functions and test systems. Nowadays, establishing security in data transmission is essential, and it is achieved by cryptography. Encryption of still or video images in specific applications such as Internet of Things, medical and satellite imaging, in applications requiring high-speed encryption, or even in applications where a personal computer is unavailable or cannot be used needs special hardware. In this paper, an image encryption algorithm based on chaos theory named Parallel Chaotic Checksum-based Image Encryption or PCCIE algorithm is proposed that has been able to provide a fast, efficient and secure algorithm with a hardware perspective on the design and parallel system structure. Using high-level synthesis, PCCIE is implemented on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The proposed algorithm using small and independent local image buffers solved FPGA internal memory limitation for encryption of large images. Ultimately, a Hexa-core crypto-processor with single-precision floating-point and fixed-point precision has been designed, capable of encrypting 256 × 256 and Full HD images in 2.13 and 59.52 milliseconds, respectively, at 469 and 16 frames per second. The sparse triangular solver (SpTRSV) is mostly used for scientific and engineering applications. The structured-grid triangular solver of regular dependencies (STRSV) is a special kind of SpTRSV. Some general SpTRSVs that disregards the regularity of the matrix are unsuitable for solving this problem. This paper proposes an efficient parallel algorithm for STRSV on the SW26010 (a kind of China independently designed many-core processors), namely swStructTRSV. The algorithm makes full use of the fine-grained and low latency communication characteristics of the SW26010 to reduce the waiting time for synchronization, maximizes the regularity of access to improve memory access bandwidth, and achieves overlap between memory access and computation simultaneously. Moreover, the idea of the algorithm can be extended to incomplete LU factorization (ILU factorization) because of consistent dependencies. The experimental results on a core group(8 * 8 network composed of 64 cores) of SW26010 show that swStructTRSV can achieve an average speedup of over 30 in the sequential version. swStructTRSV on SW26010 achieves solving speedups of 2.2 and 6.3 over the fast STRSV (fSpTRSV) previously implemented on SW26010 and MKL on Intel Xeon Gold 6132, respectively. swStructTRSV significantly outperforms cuSparse on NVIDIA TITAN RTX in terms of overall execution time. Effective resource allocation is a crucial aspect in improving the performance of visible light communication (VLC)/hybrid WiFi networks. This study presents a dynamic resource allocation algorithm for multiuser scenarios. A fuzzy logic technique is employed to select the network resources with higher scores for communication. In this sense, to ensure fairness in the hybrid VLC-WiFi network, an enhanced proportional fairness (PF) algorithm is utilized. The algorithm considers the access delay and the distance to the access point as users move, striking a reasonable balance between fair allocation of user resources and maximizing system resource utilization. Therefore, to enhance the user experience in real-time scheduling, a compensation factor is introduced to compensate users with higher latency, increasing their priority. A thorough analysis is provided for the throughput, latency, utility value, and fairness models of the VLC-WiFi heterogeneous network system. The algorithm proposed in this paper is simulated and compared with four traditional algorithms, namely the Round-Robin algorithm, maximum carrier to interference ratio (Max C/I) algorithm, modified largest weighted delay first algorithm, and PF algorithm, under different metrics. Simulation results show that the proposed method is effective, and the improved algorithm yields better fairness and higher throughput compared to the conventional algorithm. As the number of frames increases, the fairness index of the proposed algorithm increases the fastest and gradually converges to 1. The throughput of this method is significantly greater than that of previous algorithms, reaching a stable rate of roughly 1.3 Mbps. The suggested algorithm is approximately 150% higher than the throughput achieved by conventional PF algorithms. The algorithm improves user satisfaction in different regions, and the utility value remains around 0.975. The packet loss rate is approximately 75% lower than traditional typical algorithms, and the average latency is approximately 60% lower. Arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) is a meta-heuristic optimization method based on mathematical operators proposed in recent years. Although it has good performance, it can also lead to insufficient local search ability and falling into local optima when solving complex optimization problems. In order to make up for the above shortcomings, the optimization performance of AOA is further improved. This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm based on AOA and particle swarm optimization (PSO) called HAOAPSO. Firstly, a compound opposition-based learning (COBL) strategy is introduced to broaden the scope of finding optimal solutions to help the algorithm better jump out of local optima. Secondly, PSO is combined with AOA that integrates COBL to improve the algorithm's local search ability, so as to improve the overall search efficiency of the algorithm. In addition, experiments are performed on 23 classical benchmark functions with different characteristics and five engineering design optimization problems, and the experimental results of HAOAPSO are compared with those of other well-known optimization algorithms to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. This paper presents a massively parallel approach of the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (PMLFMA) on homegrown many-core SW26010 cluster of China, noted as (SW-PMLFMA), for 3-D electromagnetic scattering problems. In this approach, the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) octree is first partitioned among management processing elements (MPEs) of SW26010 processors following the ternary partitioning scheme using the message passing interface (MPI). Then, the computationally intensive parts of the PMLFMA on each MPI process, matrix filling, aggregation and disaggregation are accelerated by using all the 64 computing processing elements (CPEs) in the same core group of the MPE via the Athread parallel programming model. Different parallelization strategies are designed for many-core accelerators to ensure a high computational throughput. In coincidence with the special characteristic of local Lagrange interpolation, the compressed sparse row (CSR) and the compressed sparse column (CSC) sparse matrix storage format is used for storing interpolation and anterpolation matrices, respectively, together with a specially designed cache mechanism of hybrid dynamic and static buffers using the scratchpad memory (SPM) to improve data access efficiency. The utilization of cloud computing environments is highly popular for carrying out workflow executions due to its ability to provide clients with immediate access to computing resources. Among the various workflow scheduling problems in the cloud, deadline-constrained workflow scheduling has garnered increasing attention in recent years. This paper introduces a hybrid scheduling algorithm known as Partial Critical Path–Ant Colony Optimization (PCP–ACO), which aims to minimize the execution cost of a workflow while ensuring that it meets the user-defined deadline in cloud environments. PCP–ACO is a list scheduling algorithm that combines the PCP heuristic algorithm with the meta-heuristic ACO to achieve faster convergence. The list scheduling algorithm consists of two phases: task ordering and resource selection. In the case of PCP–ACO, the first step involves calculating a topological sort of the workflow tasks to assign priority to each task. Subsequently, the ACO meta-heuristic is employed to allocate the appropriate resource to each task of the workflow, based on their respective sub-deadlines that are computed using the PCP heuristic. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, several experiments were conducted using five real scientific workflows. The results demonstrate that PCP–ACO outperforms the IC-PCP, L-ACO, and HP-GA algorithms in terms of average execution cost, achieving reductions of 19%, 17.3%, and 21.5%, respectively. With the rapid development of network technology, the Internet has brought significant convenience to various sectors of society, holding a prominent position. Due to the unpredictable and severe consequences resulting from malicious attacks, the detection of anomalous network traffic has garnered considerable attention from researchers over the past few decades. Accurately labeling a sufficient amount of network traffic data as a training dataset within a short period of time is a challenging task, given the rapid and massive generation of network traffic data. Furthermore, the proportion of malicious attack traffic is relatively small compared to the overall traffic data, and the distribution of traffic data across different types of malicious attacks also varies significantly. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper presents a novel network anomaly detection algorithm based on semi-supervised learning and adaptive multiclass balancing. Building upon the assumption of consistent distribution between labeled and unlabeled data, this paper introduces the multiclass split balancing strategy and the adaptive confidence threshold function. These innovative approaches aim to tackle the issue of the multiclass imbalanced in traffic data. By leveraging the mutually beneficial relationship between semi-supervised learning and ensemble learning, this paper presents the collaborative rotation forest algorithm. This algorithm is specifically designed to enhance performance of anomaly detection in an environment with label inadequacy. Several comparative experiments conducted on the NSL-KDD, UNSW-NB15, and ToN-IoT demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves significant improvements in performance. Demeanor evidence refers to the authoritative opinions of experts using analytical instruments to collect and interpret the formation of external physiological symptoms of the entire human body. With the development of modern technology, the observation of demeanor has entered a new stage of multimodal quantification. The quantifiable results of demeanor observation with the help of scientific and technological instruments play an important role in judicial work such as search, interrogation, and evidence review. The use of man-made reasoning in the field of legal settling has become increasingly broad. Specialists are giving increasingly more consideration to the securing of modular proof. This paper proposes the development of a component examination model for modular proof examination applications. The technique for this paper is to apply the guileless Bayes strategy, propose a superior information mining calculation, and lay out a model for proof observation and examination. The function of these methods is to systematically explore the basic theoretical issues of demeanor evidence based on the status quo of judicial application of demeanor evidence. Through the prediction of individual demeanor based on data mining algorithm, the evidence analysis model is designed, the neurobiological experiment is carried out, and the demeanor evidence animal stress model is constructed to verify the scientific basis of multidemeanor evidence observation. The experimental results showed that after repeated stimulation of SD rats, the maximum changes in the expression of HSP70 gene and SAA gene were 10.77 and 14.1 respectively, reflecting the high reliability of demeanor evidence biological experiments. The model can improve the accuracy of evidence use, and the correct use of demeanor evidence can realize the true litigation value of intelligent justice and the concept of human rights protection, and promote the construction of intelligent justice. This article delves into the critical realm of modern computer cluster management. It focuses on the effect that the increasing heterogeneity of the clusters has on the workload managers. The proposed schedulers consider node properties instead of job properties to make decisions, which is something not currently done by mainstream scheduling algorithms. In order to increase the knowledge in this topic, this paper proposes two novel algorithms whose main task is to choose the best compute nodes to schedule the incoming jobs. To this effect, they exclusively take into account the properties of the nodes, instead of the common trend of considering the properties of the jobs. The problem of weight degradation is inevitable in particle filtering algorithms, and the resampling approach is an important method to reduce the particle degradation phenomenon. To solve the problem of particle diversity loss in existing resampling methods, this paper proposes a new digital twin-based resampling algorithm to improve the accuracy of particle filter estimation based on the traditional resampling algorithm. The digital twin-based resampling algorithm continuously improves the resampling process through the data interaction between the data model and the physical model, and realizes the real-time correction capability of particle weights that traditional resampling methods do not have. The new algorithm calibration rules are divided according to the size of particle weights, with particles of large weights retained and particles of small weights selectively processed. Compared with the traditional resampling algorithm, the new resampling algorithm reduces the mean square error of the particle filter estimation results by 16.62 % , 16.49 % , and 13.86 % , and improves the computing speed by 7.67 % , 2.25 % , and 7.54 % , respectively, in the simulation experiments of nonlinear systems with univariate unsteady state growth model. Density peaks clustering (DPC) algorithm has been widely applied in many fields due to its innovation and efficiency. However, the original DPC algorithm and many of its variants choose Euclidean distance as local density and relative distance estimations, which affects the clustering performance on some specific shaped datasets, such as manifold datasets. To address the above-mentioned issue, we propose a density peak clustering algorithm with connected local density and punished relative distance (DPC–CLD–PRD). Specifically, the proposed approach computes the distance matrix between data pairs using the flexible connectivity distance metric. Then, it calculates the connected local density of each data point via combining the flexible connectivity distance measure and k-nearest neighbor method. Finally, the punished relative distance of each data point is obtained by introducing a connectivity estimation strategy into the distance optimization process. Identifying the location of the sensor nodes is a challenging aspect of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) in a distributed environment. It is vital to understand where data and events come from when sensor nodes collect data and report on them. This paper uses a nature-inspired Jaya algorithm to estimate the location coordinates of target nodes in a distributed architecture of WSNs. The Jaya algorithm handles the nonlinear optimization problem of node localization in a randomly distributed sensor node configuration. The range-based, Received Signal Strength Indicator method is used for the distance estimation. MATLAB software is used to assess the proposed work, and a comparison is made with the Particle Swarm Optimization, Krill Herd Optimization, and Salp Swarm Algorithm based node localization algorithms in terms of localization error and computation time. Tridiagonal system solver is a basic kernel and has been well-supported in mainstream numerical libraries. The purpose of this paper is to devise an efficient parallel algorithm to solve a large-scale tridiagonal system. Based on the performance analysis of the classic Thomas algorithm and matrix splitting method, we propose a parallel Thomas split (PTS) algorithm. Compared with the matrix splitting method, the PTS algorithm can achieve an acceleration of 10.34 × . Furthermore, we propose a Sunway parallel Thomas split (swPTS) algorithm based on the sw26010pro manycore processor. In the swPTS algorithm, we propose a specific data partitioning scheme to implement MPI+Athread parallelism. In the reduced set of equations, a new reduction approach for the Sunway architecture is proposed. Experiments show that the parallel elimination stage of our swPTS algorithm achieves up to 38.31 × speedup over a PTS algorithm, and overall reaches 5.74 × speedup over a Thomas algorithm. Aiming at the problem that the existing line segment detectors will detect overdense meaningless textures, this paper proposes a fusing contour features optimization method for line segment detector, called CF-Lines. We define a new line segment attribute, called "line segment associate contour(LAC)" attribute, which includes the contour features, the length and the angle of line segment. After using existing algorithms to detect contours and line segments, CF-Lines calculates the LAC of all line segments. When the LAC is greater than the threshold and passes the quantitative verification, the line segment is removed as overdense meaningless texture. Using the YorkUrban and Wireframe datasets, the CF-Lines is tested and compared with original detectors. Experimental results show that CF-Lines performs better than the original detectors in average precision, F-score, average length of line segments and average number of line segments. As the size of graph data grows exponentially, it is usually processed by parallel and distributed computing environment. During parallel processing, the first step is to divide the graph data into many subgraphs and then place them on different computational nodes. However, the existing graph clustering methods cannot adapt to parallel processing or improve computing performance. The main reason is that these methods only focus on the graph data but do not care about the graph's application algorithm. Therefore, this paper addresses a graph clustering method that supports parallel processing by perceiving the application algorithm semantics. We specifically focus on the characteristic of "tight inside and loose outside". Based on this characteristic, we give a new formula for calculating the modularity of the subgraph. In a graph application, graph data and its associated application algorithm are not separated from each other. Thus, we also focus on the execution patterns of the application algorithm. Combining the modularity of a subgraph and execution patterns of an application algorithm, we present the critical concept of semantic serial degree as a new criterion for big graph clustering. Consequently, we propose a graph clustering method that effectively balances the importance between the graph data and its associated application algorithm. By achieving this balance, our approach ensures that the final clustering results are more suitable for parallel and distributed processing. Extended experiments show that our proposed graph clustering method is more general and compatible with traditional clustering methods. Compared with FastUnfolding, a state-of-the-art graph clustering method, the completion times of an application algorithm are significantly reduced due to the help of the proposed graph clustering method. Floorplanning is a crucial part of very large-scale integration (VLSI) physical design flow. It primarily determines the position of the blocks on a chip by considering the area, the total wirelength, etc., in light of several real-world limitations such as delay, price, and chip performance. Adopting B*-tree representation, this paper proposes a novel dual-population adaptive hybrid memetic algorithm called DPAHMA to handle the VLSI floorplanning problem effectively by optimizing the chip area and the total wirelength. Three main ideas are presented in this paper, including new definitions of crossover and mutation operators based on B*-tree encoding that overcome the shortcomings of the existing method, such as overly complicated operations on binary trees and a lack of diversity; a dynamic self-adjusting objective function, namely WeightDS, which is able to find solutions more suitable for the user-specified weight; and a main-auxiliary population mechanism by which a candidate population is introduced to assist the normal population in the global search phase. To make full use of the information obtained by the local search method, the candidate population keeps its high-quality solutions. Channel pruning has recently become a widely used model compression method. However, most existing channel pruning methods only prune to decrease the model size, such as the number of parameters or FLOPs, and hence the decrease in model size does not effectively lead to an improvement in inference performance. To address this problem, this paper proposes a latency-optimized channel pruning method for CNN inference acceleration on GPU platforms by latency stair-step discrimination, two-stage benefit assessment and latency-sharing channel pruning. Compared with recent state-of-the-art model compression methods, it can achieve significant improvements in inference performance with comparable compression rates and model accuracy. The contributions of this paper include the following: first, a three-point latency stair-step discrimination method is proposed for determining the candidate prunable coordinates with the best latency performance adapted to the current hardware. Then, a two-stage benefit assessment method based on interlayer dependencies is proposed for determining the optimal channel pruning rate of each layer in the network. Finally, a latency-sharing channel pruning framework is proposed to accelerate the model pruning adaptation process. The method proposed in this paper can significantly reduce the model inference latency on multiple types of GPU platforms. To verify the effectiveness, we use three general-purpose GPU platforms and two embedded GPU platforms to evaluate the algorithm performance. The experimental results show that for recent state-of-the-art CNNs, the proposed method can achieve a 22.0–6.6% latency reduction and a 1.3 –3.0 inference performance improvement as well as a 1.2–4.3 pruning adaptation speedup with high model accuracy. Collecting and analyzing data from all devices to improve the efficiency of business processes is an important task of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). In the age of data explosion, extensive text data generated by the IIoT have given birth to a variety of text representation methods. The task of text representation is to convert the natural language to a form that computer can understand with retaining the original semantics. However, these methods are difficult to effectively extract the semantic features among words and distinguish polysemy in natural language. Combining the advantages of convolutional neural network (CNN) and variational autoencoder (VAE), this paper proposes an intelligent CNN-VAE text representation algorithm as an advanced learning method for social big data within next-generation IIoT, which help users identify the information collected by sensors and perform further processing. This method employs the convolution layer to capture the local features of the context and uses the variational technique to reconstruct feature space to make it conform to the normal distribution. In addition, the improved word2vec model based on topical word embedding (TWE) is utilized to add topical information to word vectors to distinguish polysemy. This paper takes the social big data as an example to illustrate the way of the proposed algorithm applied in the next-generation IIoT and utilizes Cnews dataset to verify the performance of proposed method with four evaluating metrics (i.e., recall, accuracy, precision, and F1-score). The marine predators algorithm (MPA) is a metaheuristic algorithm for solving optimization problems. MPA divides the whole optimization process into three phases evenly, and each phase corresponds to a different search agent update strategy. Such a setup makes MPA inflexible when facing different optimization problems, which affects the optimization performance. In this paper, we propose a novel modified MPA hybridizing by Q-learning (QMPA), which applies reinforcement learning to the selection of update strategy, and selects the most appropriate position update strategy for search agents in different iteration stages and states. It can effectively compensate for the deficiency of MPA's adaptive ability when facing different optimization problems. The performance of QMPA is tested on classical benchmark functions, the CEC2014 test suite, and engineering problems. In the classical benchmark functions test, QMPA is compared with MPA in 10, 30, and 50 dimensions. QMPA performs better than MPA for seven of the ten functions when the dimension is 10 and 30. The results of dimension 50 show that QMPA outperforms MPA in 5 functions and is close to it in 4 functions. Then, comparing QMPA with algorithms such as grey wolf optimizer, particle swarm optimization, slime mould algorithm, sine cosine algorithm, reptile search algorithm, and aquila optimizer, the results show that QMPA has the best performance on 22 of the total 30 functions in the CEC2014 test suite. Finally, QMPA is tested on two commonly used real-world engineering problems and gives the most optimal results. The deployment of long-term evolution systems in an unauthorized spectrum provided a credible solution to manage accelerating network data traffic. Meanwhile, the distribution of spectrum on unlicensed bands creates severe interaction issues. Therefore, this paper proposed a novel listen-and-talk-based MAC (LAT-MAC) protocol to enhance secondary users' (SUs') access performance by implementing a full-duplex mechanism. The application of full-duplex methods efficiently neglects collision and improves spectrum utilization of unlicensed bands. For cognitive radio networks, utilizing these benefits of a full duplex, the proposed LAT-MAC protocol simultaneously executes transmission processes and spectrum sensing. The cognitive network users sense spectrum utilizing energy detectors. For enhanced energy detection, the type 2 fuzzy cooperative spectrum sensing (T2FCSS) technique is implemented. Moreover, to attain enhanced spectrum sensing performances with the negligence of power-throughput tradeoff and self-interference, the switching algorithm-based cognitive radio network (SA-CRN) is employed. In order to explore potential value of explosively growing data in thermal power unit, this paper proposes a big data mining method based on Hadoop-based Spark cluster-computing framework and algorithms. Firstly, positive and negative balance methods are used to accurately obtain actual net coal consumption, and maximum information coefficient method is used to select all parameters related to optimization objectives. Then, Spark-based Mini-Batch K-means algorithm and Elbow method are constructed to divide whole operating modes. After that, all data are discretized and mapped to corresponding intervals by using Spark-based Elbow method and Mini-Batch K-means algorithm. Finally, Spark-based parallel FP-growth algorithm is used to deeply mine the potential relationships and laws. To verify the proposed method, a 350-MW thermal power unit is taken as a study case. The important conclusions are as follows: (1) the proposed Spark-based Mini-Batch K-means algorithm reduces the calculation time by 57.11% compared with Mini-Batch K-means algorithm, and 85.61% calculation time compared with K-means algorithm. The proposed Spark-based FP-growth algorithm reduces computational time by 32.8% compared with FP-growth algorithm. (2) Strong association rules of whole operating modes are mined, and operating optimization guidance schemes for important parameters are obtained. Take operating mode 1 as an example: if the optimal result can be reasonably applied, it can save 2.942 g coal per kilowatt hour. The salp swarm algorithm (SSA) is a well-known optimization algorithm that is increasingly being utilized to solve many sorts of optimization problems. However, SSA may converge to sub-optimal solutions when it is applied to discrete problems such as the feature selection (FS) problem. This paper presents the enhanced opposition-based learning salp swarm algorithm (EOSSA), which is an improved SSA algorithm for solving the FS problem in intrusion detection systems (IDS). EOSSA incorporates four improvements into the original SSA algorithm. Firstly, the opposition-based learning (OBL) method is used in the initialization step of SSA to boost its population diversity. Secondly, the Elite opposition-based learning (EOBL) is used in the improvement loop of SSA to improve its exploration ability. Third, a variable neighborhood search (VNS) method is used in the improvement loop of SSA to improve its exploration mechanism to improve the local search space. Lastly, the Sigmoid binary transform function is used to convert the continuous candidate solutions produced by SSA into discrete binary solutions. EOSSA was evaluated against eighteen popular optimization algorithms (e.g., improved salp swarm algorithm based on opposition-based learning (ISSA), SSA, particle swarm algorithm (PSO), cuckoo search (CS), bat algorithm (BA), and Harris Hawk Optimization (HHO)) using eleven popular intrusion detection datasets (CICIDS2017, CSE-CIC-IDS2018, CICDDOS2019, CIRA-CIC-DoH, Intrusion detection 2018, UNSW-NB15, NSL-KDD, Phishing Legitimate, Malmem2022, IoT, and LUFlow Network) to Detect IoT Botnet Attacks. Moreover, EOSSA was compared with four machine learning algorithms (Decision Tree (DT), logistic regression (LR), Naive Bayes (NB), and K-Nearest Neighborhood (KNN)). The overall simulation results suggested that the proposed method is superior to the other algorithms in terms of the accuracy and number of selected features. The digital images are widely captured, transmitted, and stored by limited resource devices. Those devices need lightweight encryption (LWE) techniques to protect secret and personal images. Designing LWE algorithms for digital images is challenging due to the large size and high inter-pixel correlations of digital images. This paper presents an image encryption technique based on the Nonlinear feedback shift register (NLFSR) and DNA computation. The image is permuted first using pseudorandom sequence generated by a NLSFR based Key stream generator followed by a substitution of pixel values using DNA computations in cipher block chaining mode. Furthermore, security analysis tests, histograms, correlation, entropy, NPCR, and UACI are used to verify our scheme. The security and performance analysis of the proposed techniques analyses showed their efficacy and resistance to attacks. Cell tracking is currently a powerful tool in a variety of biomedical research topics. Most cell tracking algorithms follow the tracking by detection paradigm. Detection is critical for subsequent tracking. Unfortunately, very accurate detection is not easy due to many factors like densely populated, low contrast, and possible impurities included. Keeping tracking multiple cells across frames suffers many difficulties, as cells may have similar appearance, they may change their shapes, and nearby cells may interact each other. The National Center for Atmospheric Research released a global atmosphere model named Community Atmosphere Model version 5.0 (CAM5), which aimed to provide a global climate simulation for meteorological research. Among them, the cloud microphysics scheme is extremely time-consuming, so developing efficient parallel algorithms faces large-scale and chronic simulation challenges. Due to the wide application of GPU in the fields of science and engineering and the NVIDIA's mature and stable CUDA platform, we ported the code to GPU to accelerate computing. In this paper, by analyzing the parallelism of CAM5 cloud microphysical schemes (CAM5 CMS) in different dimensions, corresponding GPU-based one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) parallel acceleration algorithms are proposed. Among them, the 2D parallel algorithm exploits finer-grained parallelism. In addition, we present a data transfer optimization method between the CPU and GPU to further improve the overall performance. Finally, GPU version of the CAM5 CMS (GPU-CMS) was implemented. The GPU-CMS can obtain a speedup of 141.69 × on a single NVIDIA A100 GPU with I/O transfer. In the case without I/O transfer, compared to the baseline performance on a single Intel Xeon E5-2680 CPU core, the 2D acceleration algorithm obtained a speedup of 48.75 × , 280.11 × , and 507.18 × on a single NVIDIA K20, P100, and A100 GPU, respectively. Isometric Projection (IsoP) is a linear dimensionality reduction method, which provides the best linear approximation to the true isometric embedding of data. However, IsoP and all its variants only consider the one-way mapping from high-dimensional space to low-dimensional space. The projected low-dimensional data may not "represent" the original sample accurately and effectively. In this paper, based on the "encoding-decoding" mechanism, a new IsoP method called IsoP-R (Isometric Projection with Reconstruction) has been proposed. In this method, the conventional projection of IsoP is viewed as the encoding stage, and the decoder is used to reconstruct the original high-dimensional data from the projected low-dimensional data. In this way, our algorithm makes the low-dimensional embedding data "represent" the original data more accurately and effectively. Experiment results on Handwritten Alphadigits, COIL-100, Olivetti Research Laboratory and Georgia Tech face datasets show that the proposed IsoP-R approach better represents the data and achieves much higher recognition accuracy. Business process model and notation (BPMN) is a popular notation used for process modelling mainly due to its high expressiveness. However, BPMN has shortcomings when dealing with specific domains (namely Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points systems), struggling to model activity duration, quality control points, activity effects and monitoring nature. To tackle these limitations, the business process model and notation extended expressiveness (BPMN-E2) was proposed. In this paper, a multiperspective conformance checking algorithm is developed focusing on detecting non-conformity between an event log and a process model, regarding the information provided by the new elements within BPMN-E2. The proposed algorithm follows a two-step approach that starts by converting the model into a directly follows model (annotated with conformance rules), which is then used in a second phase to perform conformance checking effectively. This modular approach allows to apply the proposed algorithm to other process model notations than BPMN-E2. An event log clustering technique was also developed to downsize large-event logs without compromising data relevance. In this way, both the multiperspective algorithm and the log-downsize clustering technique here proposed are a key contribution to improve conformance checking in process modelling, as evinced in the proof-of-concept provided. This paper proposes a new chaotic satellite image encryption algorithm based on a 2D filter and Fisher–Yates shuffling. To reduce the encryption time and increase the security level in the proposed algorithm, the original image is divided into several blocks, and each block is encrypted using the same steps. Firstly, the vector transformation is applied to the original image to obtain a vector that is divided into several vectors where each one consists of 256 pixels. The obtained vector is transformed into a matrix using a matrix transformation. Afterward, the filtering operation generated by the 1D chaotic map is applied to the transformed matrix, where each pixel is filtered using a different mask filter. Then, the rows and the columns of the filtered matrix are scrambled, where the rows are scrambled by the modern Fisher–Yates shuffling and the columns are scrambled by the classical Fisher–Yates shuffling. The two Fisher–Yates shuffling methods are generated by different two 2D hyperchaotic systems. After that, the obtained scrambled matrix is transformed into a vector. Finally, if the storage vector is less than the original vector, the previous steps are repeated until encrypting the remaining next blocks. If not, the storage vector is transformed into a matrix which is considered the final cipher image. The advantages of the proposed algorithm are: Filtering technique has been used in the cryptography field and a different independent filter is used for every single pixel to improve the efficiency of the algorithm. Moreover, the use of Fisher's principle as a permutation technique in the proposed encryption algorithm is an effective manner. The experimental and analysis results show that the proposed algorithm has good performance in terms of a high level of security, large enough key space, tolerance to single event upsets, and low time complexity. Adaptive algorithms are widely used in deep learning because of their fast convergence. Among them, Adam is the most widely used algorithm. However, studies have shown that Adam's generalization ability is weak. AdaX is a variant of Adam, which introduces a novel second-order momentum, modifies the second-order moment of Adam, and has good generalization ability. However, these algorithms may fail to converge due to instability and extreme learning rates during training. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive and momental bound algorithm, called AdaXod, which characterizes of exponentially averaging the learning rate and is particularly useful for training deep neural networks. By setting an adaptively limited learning rate in the AdaX algorithm, the resultant AdaXod can effectively eliminate the problem of excessive learning rate in the later stage of neural networks training and thus results in stable training. We conduct extensive experiments on different datasets and verify the advantages of the AdaXod algorithm by comparing with other advanced adaptive optimization algorithms. A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of an extensive number of low-power sensor nodes to gather information from their environment and monitor physical activities. This makes node localization a crucial aspect in most WSN applications since measurement data is worthless unless the location from where the data is acquired is known precisely. The majority of localization solutions rely on anchor nodes for estimating the node locations with different localization accuracy, complexity, and hence different applicability. But, the cost and complexity in the localization of large-scale WSNs are not significantly reduced. In this paper, a novel Hybridized Dragonfly and Jaya Optimization technique (HyDAJ) is introduced for improving localization accuracy and performance of mobile WSNs. The proposed hybrid technique combines the advantages of Dragonfly algorithm and Jaya algorithm to localize the sensor nodes in a more efficient way and overcomes the limitations of the original algorithm. The hybrid algorithm verifies that all target nodes are precisely localized with higher accuracy. Simulation results reveal that HyDAJ outperforms existing methods under multiple metrics including localization efficiency, mean localization error, computation time, and energy consumption. The back-projection algorithm can adapt to synthetic aperture radar imaging in any mode because of its time-domain imaging characteristics, so it has received increasing attention in scientific research and engineering practice. However, the large enormous of computation of the back-projection algorithm limits its application. Since the back-projection algorithm has a high degree of data parallelism, it is very suitable for GPU parallel processing. The data scale and hardware environment in different application scenarios will result in different bottlenecks which may prevent the back-projection algorithm from performing optimally. Thus, this paper proposes a series of strategies to aid the back-projection algorithm in achieving the best peak performance with any given problem scale on any given platform. A heuristic block strategy is proposed to optimize the peak performance of the back-projection algorithm on servers and miniaturized GPU devices, which can handle the differences in hardware platforms as well as the differences in data scales. To optimize the peak performance of the back-projection algorithm on miniaturized GPU devices, a memory management strategy is proposed by using unified memory and pinned host memory. The method proposed in this paper has achieved an acceleration ratio close to the device's peak performance on servers and miniaturized GPU devices. Safe autonomous driving is the future trend, and achieving it requires precise and real-time simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). Many practitioners are concerned about the performance of LiDAR SLAM algorithms, but there is little research work to evaluate LiDAR SLAM algorithms specifically. This paper evaluates LeGO-LOAM, SC-LeGO-LOAM, LIO-SAM, SC-LIO-SAM, and FAST-LIO2 utilizing the 05-10 sequences from KITTI dataset. The experimental results show that: firstly, there is no significant difference among the absolute trajectory error of the five SLAM algorithms. Secondly, LeGO-LAOM has the smallest relative positional error among the six sequences. Thirdly, FAST-LIO2 has the best real-time performance. This paper presents a hybrid simplified grey wolf optimization algorithm combining with an modified pigeon inspired optimization algorithm. Firstly, a method of population initialization in the restricted area is designed to improve the average fitness of individuals. Then, a decay factor is designed to improve the search accuracy. At the same time, a new search position update formula is designed to balance the global search and local search ability, so as to improve the convergence speed of the algorithm. Furthermore, in order to verify the performance, the convergence, complexity and accuracy of the algorithm are analyzed by using linear difference equations. Finally, the comparison between different meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, the influence of parameters and their application in the path planning of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are tested. It is amenable to an application as a network topology, especially when the node size exceeds several million. This paper presents the following welcome properties of the graph, relating to its structure: (1) vertex transitivity that facilitates the working of an algorithm meant for a "local" context in the global context as well, and (2) an exact formula for the distance metric, which leads to a precise result on the distance-wise vertex distribution of the graph and an exact formula for the average vertex distance. Application with a set of dependent distributed tasks is generally regarded as a direct acyclic graph or an out-tree. Tree-shaped task graphs are widely applied in a variety of computational domains, including electronic structure computations and sparse matrix factorization. Efficient algorithms for tree-shaped task partition and allocation can dominate the performance of heterogeneous computing systems, as most relevant publications have pointed out. This paper presents efficient algorithms for partitioning and allocating tree-shaped tasks on heterogeneous multiprocessor systems with limited memory to improve task-parallel computing. The proposed main algorithm consists of two stages: partition and allocation. During partition, an algorithm is provided for partitioning a task tree into multiple subtrees. It iteratively partitions the subtrees on the critical path of the quotient tree. During allocation, two algorithms are proposed for task allocation to minimize the task tree's execution time. One is to preferentially allocate the largest subtree of the whole tree, and the other is to preferentially allocate the subtree located on the quotient tree's critical path. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms significantly improve the latest works in terms of average makespan, both on randomly generated trees and on a real-world dataset. On a real-world dataset, the average makespan of existing work is approximately 6.28 × 10 8 . However, it is approximately 2.13 × 10 8 for our proposed algorithm. This results in a reduction of 64.33%. On randomly generated trees, the average makespan of existing work is approximately 8973. However, it is approximately 4040 for our proposed algorithm. The performance growth in processors has been continuing toward increasing the number of processing cores on the chip and scaling the feature size of transistors. However, in the nanoera, side effects of the scaling, such as induced heterogeneities in the performance, power, and soft error rate of identically designed cores, prevent the potential performance from being fully utilized. In this paper, we harness the mentioned side effects in shared-memory multicore processors with unknown workloads by a dynamic heuristic scheduling algorithm called HDSAP. HDSAP aims to maximize performance, i.e., the average response time, under power and reliability constraints in presence of induced heterogeneities. In this regard, we use a mathematical model to quantify task to core assignments based on performance variation. We also consider the variation in power to change selected cores when the power constraint is missed. To meet the reliability constraint, we use N-modular redundancy while being aware of the variation in the soft error rate of cores to prevent under/over reliability estimation. To evaluate HDSAP, we run SPLASH benchmark suite on Sniper and MACPat simulators. The attribute-based encryption (ABE) scheme is suitable for access control of ciphertext in cloud computing. Kowalczyk and Wee proposed an adaptively secure attribute-based encryption scheme that supports NC 1 circuits. However, the ciphertext length increases rapidly with the depth of the circuit, resulting in an increase of the computational complexity of the encryption and decryption algorithms. In this paper, to overcome this challenge, a ciphertext-policy ABE scheme that supports circuits with fan-in n is proposed. First, we design new pebble rules for secret sharing in circuits with fan-in n, improving the compactness of the security reduction. Then, the new secret sharing scheme is embedded in the encryption algorithm, which is the key to improving efficiency. Moreover, we prove the adaptive security of the scheme by using a piecewise guessing framework and dual-system encryption. Finally, by comparison analysis, this scheme exhibits a better performance. The intrinsic high parallelism and entanglement characteristics of quantum computing have made quantum image processing techniques a focus of great interest. One of the most widely used techniques in image processing is segmentation, which in one of their most basic forms can be carried out using thresholding algorithms. In this paper, a fault-tolerant quantum dual-threshold algorithm has been proposed. This algorithm has been built using only Clifford+T gates for compatibility with error detection and correction codes. Because fault-tolerant implementation of T gates has a much higher cost than other quantum gates, our focus has been on reducing the number of these gates. This has allowed adding noise tolerance, computational cost reduction, and fault tolerance to the state-of-the-art dual-threshold segmentation circuits. Since the dual-threshold image segmentation involves the comparison operation, as part of this work we have implemented two full comparator circuits. In a cryptosystem, a cipher's security is directly dependent on a key-schedule or key-scheduling algorithm (KSA) or that is used for both encryption and decryption. The random-number-based KSA adds another layer of security and prevents hackers from performing cryptanalysis. Several previous studies have investigated the strength of a cipher's encryption process. The strength evaluation of the key-scheduling process has received less attention that can lead to weaknesses in the overall encryption process. This paper proposes a new framework consisting of cryptographic strength evaluation criteria for random number generators (RNG)-based KSAs. Our framework (CryptoQNRG) evaluates different key-schedules based on pseudorandom and quantum random number generators with a set of tests. There are test suites that compare the strength of KSAs for different block ciphers. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time that a framework is built to compare the strength of KSAs incorporating RNGs and various block ciphers. CryptoQNRG comprises of four tests: Frequency, Bit_Correlation, Bit_Interfold, and Bit_Entropy. The tests are used to explore cryptographic properties such as unpredictability, balance of bits, correlation, confusion, and diffusion in the subkeys generated by the RNG-based KSA. We have evaluated the most common KSAs with different block ciphers and a significant outcome of the proposed framework is the distinction between strong and weak RNG-based KSAs. With the development of current computing technology, workflow applications have become more important in a variety of fields, including research, education, health care, and scientific experimentation. A group of tasks with complicated dependency relationships constitute the workflow applications. It can be difficult to create an acceptable execution sequence while maintaining precedence constraints. Workflow scheduling algorithms (WSA) are gaining more attention from researchers as a real-time concern. Even though a variety of research perspectives have been demonstrated for WSAs, it remains challenging to develop a single coherent algorithm that simultaneously meets a variety of criteria. There is very less research available on WSA in the heterogeneous computing system. Classical scheduling techniques, evolutionary optimisation algorithms, and other methodologies are the available solution to this problem. The workflow scheduling problem is regarded as NP-complete. This problem is constrained by various factors, such as Quality of Service, interdependence between tasks, and user deadlines. In this paper, an efficient meta-heuristic approach named Multi-objective Artificial Algae (MAA) algorithm is presented for scheduling scientific workflows in a hierarchical fog-cloud environment. In the first phase, the algorithm pre-processes scientific workflow and prepares two task lists. In order to speed up execution, bottleneck tasks are executed with high priority. The MAA algorithm is used to schedule tasks in the following stage to reduce execution times, energy consumption and overall costs. In order to effectively use fog resources, the algorithm also utilises the weighted sum-based multi-objective function. The proposed approach is evaluated using five benchmark scientific workflow datasets. To verify the performance, the proposed algorithm's results are compared to those of conventional and specialised WSAs. In comparison to previous methodologies, the average results demonstrate significant improvements of about 43% in execution time, 28% in energy consumption and 10% in total cost without any trade-offs. The results of a parallel implementation of a randomized vector algorithm for solving systems of linear equations are presented in the paper. The solution is represented in the form of a Neumann series. The stochastic method computes this series by sampling only random columns, avoiding multiplication of matrix by matrix and matrix by vector. We consider the case when the matrix is too large to fit in random-access memory (RAM). We use two approaches to solve this problem. In the first approach, the matrix is divided into parts that are distributed among MPI processes and stored in the available RAM of the cluster nodes. In the second approach, the entire matrix is stored on each node's hard drive, loaded into RAM, and processed in parts. Independent Monte Carlo experiments for random column indices are distributed among MPI processes or OpenMP threads for both approaches to matrix storage. Large-scale numerical optimization problems arise from many fields and have applications in both industrial and academic contexts. Finding solutions to such optimization problems efficiently requires algorithms that are able to leverage the increasing parallelism available in modern computing hardware. In this paper, we review previous work on parallelizing algorithms for nonlinear optimization. To introduce the topic, the paper starts by giving an accessible introduction to nonlinear optimization and high-performance computing. This is followed by a survey of previous work on parallelization and utilization of high-performance computing hardware for nonlinear optimization algorithms. Finally, we present a number of optimization software libraries and how they are able to utilize parallel computing today. This study can serve as an introduction point for researchers interested in nonlinear optimization or high-performance computing, as well as provide ideas and inspiration for future work combining these topics. The two-dimension strip packing problem (2DSPP) is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, and it has a wide range of applications. The order in which the rectangles are placed in the strip is the key to solving the 2DSPP. In this paper, the corner increment multi-level scoring strategy and the two-step selection strategy are proposed to make the selection of rectangles more reasonable. The hierarchical construction strategy is used to improve the constructive heuristic algorithm to expand the search space of the rectangle selection. Based on this, this paper proposes a multi-strategy rectangle selection algorithm TSMSA for solving 2DSPP. Comparing experiments with 7 excellent algorithms for solving 2DSPP on 737 instances of the benchmark dataset shows that the instance number of the optimal solution obtained by TSMSA is 1.05~2.9 times that of the other 7 algorithms.
