Plant Propagation Algorithms (PPA) are powerful and flexible solvers for optimisation problems. They are nature-inspired heuristics which can be applied to any optimisation/search problem. There is a growing body of research, mainly experimental, on PPA in the literature. Little, however, has been done on the theoretical front. Given the prominence this algorithm is gaining in terms of performance on benchmark problems as well as practical ones, some theoretical insight into its convergence is needed. In order to model route planning problem for emergency logistics management taking both route timeliness and safety into account, a multiobjective mathematical model is proposed based on the theories of bounded rationality. The route safety is modeled as the product of safety through arcs included in the path. For solving this model, we convert the multiobjective optimization problem into its equivalent deterministic form. We take uncertainty of the weight coefficient for each objective function in actual multiobjective optimization into account. Finally, we develop an easy-to-implement heuristic in order to gain an efficient and feasible solution and its corresponding appropriate vector of weight coefficients quickly. This paper investigates energy efficient power allocation for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-(OFDM-) based cognitive radio (CR) systems with partial intersystem channel state information (CSI) available. The goal is to maximize energy efficiency (EE) while ensuring the minimum rate of secondary user (SU) and keeping the average interference power (AIP) introduced to primary user (PU) within a target probability level. We propose a suboptimal algorithm to solve this optimization problem based on classic water-filling (WF) technique. Moreover, we first address the relation between EE and water level. In order to reduce complexity, a simplified algorithm with closed-form solution is also proposed. This paper proposes a new method, bound alternative direction method (BADM), to address the l p (p ∊ (0, 1)) minimization problems in image deblurring. The approach is to first obtain a bound unconstrained problem through bounding the l p regularizer by a novel majorizer and then, based on a variable splitting, to reformulate the bound unconstrained problem into a constrained one, which is then addressed via an augmented Lagrangian method. The proposed algorithm actually combines the reweighted l 1 minimization method and the alternating direction method of multiples (ADMM) such that it succeeds in extending the application of ADMM to l p minimization problems. The conducted experimental studies demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm for the synthesis l 1 minimization over the state-of-the-art algorithms for the synthesis l 1 minimization on image deblurring. We construct a neural network based on smoothing approximation techniques and projected gradient method to solve a kind of sparse reconstruction problems. Neural network can be implemented by circuits and can be seen as an importantmethod for solving optimization problems, especially large scale problems. Smoothing approximation is an efficient technique for solving nonsmooth optimization problems. We combine these two techniques to overcome the difficulties of the choices of the step size in discrete algorithms and the item in the set-valued map of differential inclusion. In theory, the proposed network can converge to the optimal solution set of the given problem. Furthermore, some numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed network in this paper.
