The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, even if the emergency is over, and we now have enough data to analyze the outbreak over a long timeline. There is evidence that the outbreak alternates periods of high and low infections. Retrospectively, this can help in understanding the nature of an appropriate mathematical model for this dramatic infection. The periodic behavior may be the consequence of time-dependent coefficients related to seasonal effects and specific political actions, or an intrinsic feature of the model. The present paper relies on the assumption that the periodic spikes are an intrinsic feature of the disease, and, as such, it should be properly reflected in the mathematical model. Based on the concept of waning immunity proposed for other pathologies, we introduce a new model with (i) a compartment for weakly immune people subject to immunity booster, represented by a non-linear term; (ii) discrimination between individuals infected/vaccinated for the first time, and individuals already infected/vaccinated, undergoing to new infections/doses. We analyze some preliminary properties of our model, called SIRW2, and provide a proof-of-concept that it is capable of reproducing qualitatively the long-term oscillatory behavior of COVID-19 infection. The COVID-19 outbreak was a major event that greatly impacted the economy and the health systems around the world. Understanding the behavior of the virus and being able to perform long-term and short-term future predictions of the daily new cases is a working field for machine learning methods and mathematical models. This paper compares Verhulst's, Gompertz´s, and SIR models from the point of view of their efficiency to describe the behavior of COVID-19 in Spain. These mathematical models are used to predict the future of the pandemic by first solving the corresponding inverse problems to identify the model parameters in each wave separately, using as observed data the daily cases in the past. The posterior distributions of the model parameters are then inferred via the Metropolis–Hastings algorithm, comparing the robustness of each prediction model and making different representations to visualize the results obtained concerning the posterior distribution of the model parameters and their predictions. The knowledge acquired is used to perform predictions about the evolution of both the daily number of infected cases and the total number of cases during each wave. As a main conclusion, predictive models are incomplete without a corresponding uncertainty analysis of the corresponding inverse problem. The invariance of the output (posterior prediction) with respect to the forward predictive model that is used shows that the methodology shown in this paper can be used to adopt decisions in real practice (public health). A new mathematical model of Coronavirus (2019-nCov) using piecewise hybrid fractional order derivatives is given in this paper. Moreover, in order to be consistent with the physical model problem, a new parameter μ is presented. The boundedness, existence, and positivity of the solutions for the proposed model are discussed. Two improved numerical methods are presented in this paper. The Caputo proportional constant nonstandard modified Euler–Maruyama method is introduced to study the fractional stochastic model, and the Grünwald–Letnikov nonstandard finite difference method is presented to study the hybrid fractional order deterministic model. Bulgaria has the lowest COVID-19 vaccination rate in the European Union and the second-highest COVID-19 mortality rate in the world. That is why we think it is important better to understand the reason for this situation and to analyse the development of the disease over time. In this paper, an extended time-dependent SEIRS model SEIRS-VB is used to investigate the long-term behaviour of the COVID-19 epidemic. This model includes vaccination and vital dynamics. To apply the SEIRS-VB model some numerical simulation tools have been developed and for this reason a family of time-discrete variants are introduced. Suitable inverse problems for the identification of parameters in discrete models are solved. A methodology is proposed for selecting a discrete model from the constructed family, which has the closest parameter values to these in the differential SEIRS-VB model. To validate the studied models, Bulgarian COVID-19 data are used. To obtain all these results for the discrete models a mathematical analysis is carried out to illustrate some biological properties of the differential model SEIRS-VB, such as the non-negativity, boundedness, existence, and uniqueness. Using the next-generation method, the basic reproduction number associated with the model in the autonomous case is defined. The local stability of the disease-free equilibrium point is studied. The aim of this paper is to investigate the qualitative behavior of the COVID-19 pandemic under an initial vaccination program. We constructed a mathematical model based on a nonlinear system of delayed differential equations. The time delay represents the time that the vaccine takes to provide immune protection against SARS-CoV-2. We investigate the impact of transmission rates, vaccination, and time delay on the dynamics of the constructed system. The model was developed for the beginning of the implementation of vaccination programs to control the COVID-19 pandemic. We perform a stability analysis at the equilibrium points and show, using methods of stability analysis for delayed systems, that the system undergoes a Hopf bifurcation. The theoretical results reveal that under some conditions related to the values of the parameters and the basic reproduction number, the system approaches the disease-free equilibrium point, but if the basic reproduction number is larger than one, the system approaches endemic equilibrium and SARS-CoV-2 cannot be eradicated. This paper deals with the mathematical modeling of the second wave of COVID-19 and verifies the current Omicron variant pandemic data in India. We also we discussed such as uniformly bounded of the system, Equilibrium analysis and basic reproduction number R 0 . We calculated the analytic solutions by HPM (homotopy perturbation method) and used Mathematica 12 software for numerical analysis up to 8th order approximation. It checked the error values of the approximation while the system has residual error, absolute error and h curve initial derivation of square error at up to 8th order approximation. The basic reproduction number ranges between 0.8454 and 2.0317 to form numerical simulation, it helps to identify the whole system fluctuations. Finally, our proposed model validated (from real life data) the highly affected five states of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant. The algorithm guidelines are used for international arrivals, with Omicron variant cases updated by the Union Health Ministry in January 2022. In this paper, a mathematical model was developed to simulate SARS-CoV-2 dynamics in infected patients. The model considers both the innate and adaptive immune responses and consists of healthy cells, infected cells, viral load, cytokines, natural killer cells, cytotoxic T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes, plasma cells, and antibody levels. First, a mathematical analysis was performed to discuss the model's equilibrium points and compute the basic reproduction number. The accuracy of such mathematical models may be affected by many sources of uncertainties due to the incomplete representation of the biological process and poorly known parameters. This may strongly limit their performance and prediction skills. A state-of-the-art data assimilation technique, the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF), was then used to enhance the model's behavior by incorporating available data to determine the best possible estimate of the model's state and parameters. The proposed assimilation system was applied on the real viral load datasets of six COVID-19 patients. In this paper, we present an age-structured SEIR model that uses contact patterns to reflect the physical distance measures implemented in Portugal to control the COVID-19 pandemic. By using these matrices and proper estimates for the parameters in the model, we were able to ascertain the impact of mitigation strategies employed in the past. Results show that the March 2020 lockdown had an impact on disease transmission, bringing the effective reproduction number ( R (t) ) below 1. We estimate that there was an increase in the transmission after the initial lift of the measures on 6 May 2020 that resulted in a second wave that was curbed by the October and November measures. December 2020 saw an increase in the transmission reaching an R (t) = 1.45 in early January 2021. Simulations indicate that the lockdown imposed on the 15 January 2021 might reduce the intensive care unit (ICU) demand to below 200 cases in early April if it lasts at least 2 months. In this paper, daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 in different countries are modelled using different mathematical regression models. The curve fitting is used as a prediction tool for modeling both past and upcoming coronavirus waves. According to virus spreading and average annual temperatures, countries under study are classified into three main categories. First category, the first wave of the coronavirus takes about two-year seasons (about 180 days) to complete a viral cycle. Second category, the first wave of the coronavirus takes about one-year season (about 90 days) to complete the first viral cycle with higher virus spreading rate. These countries take stopping periods with low virus spreading rate. Third category, countries that take the highest virus spreading rate and the viral cycle complete without stopping periods. Finally, predictions of different upcoming scenarios are made and compared with actual current smoothed daily confirmed cases in these countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
