Abstract
The article analyzes the poem "Modern Love" by George Meredith. The author examines the conflict between the husband and wife in the poem, stating that previous interpretations do not adequately address the "psychological morbidity." He argues that the poem depicts an abnormal behavior in which the married couple see each other as objects of possession and attempt to dehumanize the other.
