The traditional method for retrieving cloud optical thickness (COT) is carried out through a Look-Up Table (LUT). Researchers must make a series of idealized assumptions and conduct extensive observations and record features in this scenario, consuming considerable resources. The emergence of deep learning effectively addresses the shortcomings of the traditional approach. In this paper, we first propose a daytime (SOZA < 70°) COT retrieval algorithm based on FY-4A AGRI. We establish and train a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model for COT retrieval, CM4CR, with the CALIPSO's COT product spatially and temporally synchronized as the ground truth. Then, a deep learning method extended from video prediction models is adopted to predict COT values based on the retrieval results obtained from CM4CR. The COT prediction model (CPM) consists of an encoder, a predictor, and a decoder. On this basis, we further incorporated a time embedding module to enhance the model's ability to learn from irregular time intervals in the input COT sequence. During the training phase, we employed Charbonnier Loss and Edge Loss to enhance the model's capability to represent COT details. Experiments indicate that our CM4CR outperforms existing COT retrieval methods, with predictions showing better performance across several metrics than other benchmark prediction models. The advent of satellite-borne machine learning hardware accelerators has enabled the onboard processing of payload data using machine learning techniques such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs). A notable example is using a CNN to detect the presence of clouds in the multispectral data captured on Earth observation (EO) missions, whereby only clear sky data are downlinked to conserve bandwidth. However, prior to deployment, new missions that employ new sensors will not have enough representative datasets to train a CNN model, while a model trained solely on data from previous missions will underperform when deployed to process the data on the new missions. This underperformance stems from the domain gap, i.e., differences in the underlying distributions of the data generated by the different sensors in previous and future missions. In this paper, we address the domain gap problem in the context of onboard multispectral cloud detection. Our main contributions lie in formulating new domain adaptation tasks that are motivated by a concrete EO mission, developing a novel algorithm for bandwidth-efficient supervised domain adaptation, and demonstrating test-time adaptation algorithms on space deployable neural network accelerators. Our contributions enable minimal data transmission to be invoked (e.g., only 1% of the weights in ResNet50) to achieve domain adaptation, thereby allowing more sophisticated CNN models to be deployed and updated on satellites without being hampered by domain gap and bandwidth limitations. Hyperspectral unmixing (HU) aims to decompose mixed pixels into a set of endmembers and corresponding abundances. Deep learning-based HU methods are currently a hot research topic, but most existing unmixing methods still rely on per-pixel training or employ convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which overlook the non-local correlations of materials and spectral characteristics. Furthermore, current research mainly focuses on linear mixing models, which limits the feature extraction capability of deep encoders and further improvement in unmixing accuracy. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear unmixing network capable of extracting global spatial-spectral features. The network is designed based on an autoencoder architecture, where a dual-stream CNNs is employed in the encoder to separately extract spectral and local spatial information. The extracted features are then fused together to form a more complete representation of the input data. Subsequently, a linear projection-based multi-head self-attention mechanism is applied to capture global contextual information, allowing for comprehensive spatial information extraction while maintaining lightweight computation. To achieve better reconstruction performance, a model-free nonlinear mixing approach is adopted to enhance the model's universality, with the mixing model learned entirely from the data. Additionally, an initialization method based on endmember bundles is utilized to reduce interference from outliers and noise. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have made considerable advances in hyperspectral image (HSI) classification. However, most CNN-based methods learn features at a single-scale in HSI data, which may be insufficient for multi-scale feature extraction in complex data scenes. To learn the relations among samples in non-grid data, GCNs are employed and combined with CNNs to process HSIs. Nevertheless, most methods based on CNN-GCN may overlook the integration of pixel-wise spectral signatures. In this paper, we propose a pyramid cascaded convolutional neural network with graph convolution (PCCGC) for hyperspectral image classification. It mainly comprises CNN-based and GCN-based subnetworks. Specifically, in the CNN-based subnetwork, a pyramid residual cascaded module and a pyramid convolution cascaded module are employed to extract multiscale spectral and spatial features separately, which can enhance the robustness of the proposed model. Furthermore, an adaptive feature-weighted fusion strategy is utilized to adaptively fuse multiscale spectral and spatial features. In the GCN-based subnetwork, a band selection network (BSNet) is used to learn the spectral signatures in the HSI using nonlinear inter-band dependencies. Then, the spectral-enhanced GCN module is utilized to extract and enhance the important features in the spectral matrix. Subsequently, a mutual-cooperative attention mechanism is constructed to align the spectral signatures between BSNet-based matrix with the spectral-enhanced GCN-based matrix for spectral signature integration. Abundant experiments performed on four widely used real HSI datasets show that our model achieves higher classification accuracy than the fourteen other comparative methods, which shows the superior classification performance of PCCGC over the state-of-the-art methods. The vision transformer (ViT) has demonstrated performance comparable to that of convolutional neural networks (CNN) in the hyperspectral image classification domain. This is achieved by transforming images into sequence data and mining global spectral-spatial information to establish remote dependencies. Nevertheless, both the ViT and CNNs have their own limitations. For instance, a CNN is constrained by the extent of its receptive field, which prevents it from fully exploiting global spatial-spectral features. Conversely, the ViT is prone to excessive distraction during the feature extraction process. To be able to overcome the problem of insufficient feature information extraction caused using by a single paradigm, this paper proposes an MLP-mixer and a graph convolutional enhanced transformer (MGCET), whose network consists of a spatial-spectral extraction block (SSEB), an MLP-mixer, and a graph convolutional enhanced transformer (GCET). First, spatial-spectral features are extracted using SSEB, and then local spatial-spectral features are fused with global spatial-spectral features by the MLP-mixer. Finally, graph convolution is embedded in multi-head self-attention (MHSA) to mine spatial relationships and similarity between pixels, which further improves the modeling capability of the model. Remote sensing (RS) images play an indispensable role in many key fields such as environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, and urban resource management. Traditional deep convolutional neural networks have the problem of limited receptive fields. To address this problem, this paper introduces a hybrid network model that combines the advantages of CNN and Transformer, called MBT-UNet. First, a multi-branch encoder design based on the pyramid vision transformer (PVT) is proposed to effectively capture multi-scale feature information; second, an efficient feature fusion module (FFM) is proposed to optimize the collaboration and integration of features at different scales; finally, in the decoder stage, a multi-scale upsampling module (MSUM) is proposed to further refine the segmentation results and enhance segmentation accuracy. We conduct experiments on the ISPRS Vaihingen dataset, the Potsdam dataset, the LoveDA dataset, and the UAVid dataset. Experimental results show that MBT-UNet surpasses state-of-the-art algorithms in key performance indicators, confirming its superior performance in high-precision remote sensing image segmentation tasks. A skeletal pose estimation method, named RVRU-Pose, is proposed to estimate the skeletal pose of vulnerable road users based on distributed non-coherent mmWave radar. In view of the limitation that existing methods for skeletal pose estimation are only applicable to small scenes, this paper proposes a strategy that combines radar intensity heatmaps and coordinate heatmaps as input to a deep learning network. In addition, we design a multi-resolution data augmentation and training method suitable for radar to achieve target pose estimation for remote and multi-target application scenarios. Experimental results show that RVRU-Pose can achieve better than 2 cm average localization accuracy for different subjects in different scenarios, which is superior in terms of accuracy and time compared to existing state-of-the-art methods for human skeletal pose estimation with radar. As an essential performance parameter of radar, the impact of angular resolution on the estimation accuracy of a skeletal pose is quantitatively analyzed and evaluated in this paper. Utilizing deep learning for semantic segmentation of cropland from remote sensing imagery has become a crucial technique in land surveys. Cropland is highly heterogeneous and fragmented, and existing methods often suffer from inaccurate boundary segmentation. This paper introduces a UNet-like boundary-aware compensation model (BAFormer). Cropland boundaries typically exhibit rapid transformations in pixel values and texture features, often appearing as high-frequency features in remote sensing images. To enhance the recognition of these high-frequency features as represented by cropland boundaries, the proposed BAFormer integrates a Feature Adaptive Mixer (FAM) and develops a Depthwise Large Kernel Multi-Layer Perceptron model (DWLK-MLP) to enrich the global and local cropland boundaries features separately. Specifically, FAM enhances the boundary-aware method by adaptively acquiring high-frequency features through convolution and self-attention advantages, while DWLK-MLP further supplements boundary position information using a large receptive field. The efficacy of BAFormer has been evaluated on datasets including Vaihingen, Potsdam, LoveDA, and Mapcup. It demonstrates high performance, achieving mIoU scores of 84.5%, 87.3%, 53.5%, and 83.1% on these datasets, respectively. The timely and accurate acquisition of information on the distribution of the crop planting structure in the Loess Plateau of eastern Gansu Province, one of the most important agricultural areas in Western China, is crucial for promoting fine management of agriculture and ensuring food security. This study uses multi-temporal high-resolution remote sensing images to determine optimal segmentation scales for various crops, employing the estimation of scale parameter 2 (ESP2) tool and the Ratio of Mean Absolute Deviation to Standard Deviation (RMAS) model. The Canny edge detection algorithm is then applied for multi-scale image segmentation. By incorporating crop phenological factors and using the L1-regularized logistic regression model, we optimized 39 spatial feature factors—including spectral, textural, geometric, and index features. Within a multi-level classification framework, the Random Forest (RF) classifier and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model are used to classify the cropping patterns in four test areas based on the multi-scale segmented images. The results indicate that integrating the Canny edge detection algorithm with the optimal segmentation scales calculated using the ESP2 tool and RMAS model produces crop parcels with more complete boundaries and better separability. Additionally, optimizing spatial features using the L1-regularized logistic regression model, combined with phenological information, enhances classification accuracy. Within the OBIC framework, the RF classifier achieves higher accuracy in classifying cropping patterns. The overall classification accuracies for the four test areas are 91.93%, 94.92%, 89.37%, and 90.68%, respectively. Due to the widespread applications of change detection technology in urban change analysis, environmental monitoring, agricultural surveillance, disaster detection, and other domains, the task of change detection has become one of the primary applications of Earth orbit satellite remote sensing data. However, the analysis of dual-temporal change detection (CD) remains a challenge in high-resolution optical remote sensing images due to the complexities in remote sensing images, such as intricate textures, seasonal variations in imaging time, climatic differences, and significant differences in the sizes of various objects. In this paper, we propose a novel U-shaped architecture for change detection. In the encoding stage, a multi-branch feature extraction module is employed by combining CNN and transformer networks to enhance the network's perception capability for objects of varying sizes. Furthermore, a multi-branch aggregation module is utilized to aggregate features from different branches, providing the network with global attention while preserving detailed information. For dual-temporal features, we introduce a spatiotemporal discrepancy perception module to model the context of dual-temporal images. Particularly noteworthy is the construction of channel attention and token attention modules based on the transformer attention mechanism to facilitate information interaction between multi-level features, thereby enhancing the network's contextual awareness. The need for pedestrian target detection in uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) remote sensing images has become increasingly significant as the technology continues to evolve. UAVs equipped with high-resolution cameras can capture detailed imagery of various scenarios, making them ideal for monitoring and surveillance applications. Pedestrian detection is particularly crucial in scenarios such as traffic monitoring, security surveillance, and disaster response, where the safety and well-being of individuals are paramount. However, pedestrian detection in UAV remote sensing images poses several challenges. Firstly, the small size of pedestrians relative to the overall image, especially at higher altitudes, makes them difficult to detect. Secondly, the varying backgrounds and lighting conditions in remote sensing images can further complicate the task of detection. Traditional object detection methods often struggle to handle these complexities, resulting in decreased detection accuracy and increased false positives. Addressing the aforementioned concerns, this paper proposes a lightweight object detection model that integrates GhostNet and YOLOv5s. Building upon this foundation, we further introduce the SPD-Conv module to the model. With this addition, the aim is to preserve fine-grained features of the images during downsampling, thereby enhancing the model's capability to recognize small-scale objects. Furthermore, the coordinate attention module is introduced to further improve the model's recognition accuracy. In the proposed model, the number of parameters is successfully reduced to 4.77 M, compared with 7.01 M in YOLOv5s, representing a 32% reduction. The mean average precision (mAP) increased from 0.894 to 0.913, reflecting a 1.9% improvement. We have named the proposed model "GSC-YOLO". The new generation of available (i.e., PRISMA, ENMAP, DESIS) and future (i.e., ESA-CHIME, NASA-SBG) spaceborne hyperspectral missions provide unprecedented data for environmental and agricultural monitoring, such as crop trait assessment. This paper focuses on retrieving two crop traits, specifically Chlorophyll and Nitrogen content at the canopy level (CCC and CNC), starting from hyperspectral images acquired during the CHIME-RCS project, exploiting a self-supervised learning (SSL) technique. SSL is a machine learning paradigm that leverages unlabeled data to generate valuable representations for downstream tasks, bridging the gap between unsupervised and supervised learning. The proposed method comprises pre-training and fine-tuning procedures: in the first stage, a de-noising Convolutional Autoencoder is trained using pairs of noisy and clean CHIME-like images; the pre-trained Encoder network is utilized as-is or fine-tuned in the second stage. The paper demonstrates the applicability of this technique in hybrid approach methods that combine Radiative Transfer Modelling (RTM) and Machine Learning Regression Algorithm (MLRA) to set up a retrieval schema able to estimate crop traits from new generation space-born hyperspectral data. The results showcase excellent prediction accuracy for estimating CCC (R2 = 0.8318; RMSE = 0.2490) and CNC (R2 = 0.9186; RMSE = 0.7908) for maize crops from CHIME-like images without requiring further ground data calibration. Earthquake Disaster Assessment (EDA) plays a critical role in earthquake disaster prevention, evacuation, and rescue efforts. Deep learning (DL), which boasts advantages in image processing, signal recognition, and object detection, has facilitated scientific research in EDA. This paper analyses 204 articles through a systematic literature review to investigate the status quo, development, and challenges of DL for EDA. The paper first examines the distribution characteristics and trends of the two categories of EDA assessment objects, including earthquakes and secondary disasters as disaster objects, buildings, infrastructure, and areas as physical objects. Next, this study analyses the application distribution, advantages, and disadvantages of the three types of data (remote sensing data, seismic data, and social media data) mainly involved in these studies. Furthermore, the review identifies the characteristics and application of six commonly used DL models in EDA, including convolutional neural network (CNN), multi-layer perceptron (MLP), recurrent neural network (RNN), generative adversarial network (GAN), transfer learning (TL), and hybrid models. The paper also systematically details the application of DL for EDA at different times (i.e., pre-earthquake stage, during-earthquake stage, post-earthquake stage, and multi-stage). We find that the most extensive research in this field involves using CNNs for image classification to detect and assess building damage resulting from earthquakes. Finally, the paper discusses challenges related to training data and DL models, and identifies opportunities in new data sources, multimodal DL, and new concepts. Multi-class geospatial object detection in high-resolution remote sensing images has significant potential in various domains such as industrial production, military warning, disaster monitoring, and urban planning. However, the traditional process of remote sensing object detection involves several time-consuming steps, including image acquisition, image download, ground processing, and object detection. These steps may not be suitable for tasks with shorter timeliness requirements, such as military warning and disaster monitoring. Additionally, the transmission of massive data from satellites to the ground is limited by bandwidth, resulting in time delays and redundant information, such as cloud coverage images. To address these challenges and achieve efficient utilization of information, this paper proposes a comprehensive on-board multi-class geospatial object detection scheme. The proposed scheme consists of several steps. Firstly, the satellite imagery is sliced, and the PID-Net (Proportional-Integral-Derivative Network) method is employed to detect and filter out cloud-covered tiles. Subsequently, our Manhattan Intersection over Union (MIOU) loss-based YOLO (You Only Look Once) v7-Tiny method is used to detect remote-sensing objects in the remaining tiles. Finally, the detection results are mapped back to the original image, and the truncated NMS (Non-Maximum Suppression) method is utilized to filter out repeated and noisy boxes. To validate the reliability of the scheme, this paper creates a new dataset called DOTA-CD (Dataset for Object Detection in Aerial Images-Cloud Detection). The unique spatial–spectral integration characteristics of hyperspectral imagery (HSI) make it widely applicable in many fields. The spatial–spectral feature fusion-based HSI classification has always been a research hotspot. Typically, classification methods based on spatial–spectral features will select larger neighborhood windows to extract more spatial features for classification. However, this approach can also lead to the problem of non-independent training and testing sets to a certain extent. This paper proposes a spatial shuffle strategy that selects a smaller neighborhood window and randomly shuffles the pixels within the window. This strategy simulates the potential patterns of the pixel distribution in the real world as much as possible. Then, the samples of a three-dimensional HSI cube is transformed into two-dimensional images. Training with a simple CNN model that is not optimized for architecture can still achieve very high classification accuracy, indicating that the proposed method of this paper has considerable performance-improvement potential. Aircraft wake vortices are serious threats to aviation safety. The Pulsed Coherent Doppler Lidar (PCDL) has been widely used in the observation of aircraft wake vortices due to its advantages of high spatial-temporal resolution and high precision. However, the post-processing algorithms require significant computing resources, which cannot achieve the real-time detection of a wake vortex (WV). This paper presents an improved Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method for WV locating and grading based on PCDL data to avoid the influence of unstable ambient wind fields on the localization and classification results of WV. Typical WV cases are selected for analysis, and the WV locating and grading models are validated on different test sets. The consistency of the analytical algorithm and the CNN algorithm is verified. The results indicate that the improved CNN method achieves satisfactory recognition accuracy with higher efficiency and better robustness, especially in the case of strong turbulence, where the CNN method recognizes the wake vortex while the analytical method cannot. The improved CNN method is expected to be applied to optimize the current aircraft spacing criteria, which is promising in terms of aviation safety and economic benefit improvement. Sea surface temperature (SST) is a key parameter in ocean hydrology. Currently, existing SST prediction methods fail to fully utilize the potential spatial correlation between variables. To address this challenge, we propose a spatiotenporal UNet (ST-UNet) model based on the UNet model. In particular, in the encoding phase of ST-UNet, we use parallel convolution with different kernel sizes to efficiently extract spatial features, and use ConvLSTM to capture temporal features based on the utilization of spatial features. Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) module is placed at the bottleneck of the network to further incorporate the multi-scale features, allowing the spatial features to be fully utilized. The final prediction is then generated in the decoding stage using parallel convolution with different kernel sizes similar to the encoding stage. We conducted a series of experiments on the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea SST data set, as well as the South China Sea SST data set, using SST data from the past 35 days to predict SST data for 1, 3, and 7 days in the future. The model was trained using data spanning from 2010 to 2021, with data from 2022 being utilized to assess the model's predictive performance. The experimental results show that the model proposed in this research paper achieves excellent results at different prediction scales in both sea areas, and the model consistently outperforms other methods. Specifically, in the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea sea areas, when the prediction scales are 1, 3, and 7 days, the MAE of ST-UNet outperforms the best results of the other three compared models by 17%, 12%, and 2%, and the MSE by 16%, 18%, and 9%, respectively. In the South China Sea, when the prediction ranges are 1, 3, and 7 days, the MAE of ST-UNet is 27%, 18%, and 3% higher than the best of the other three compared models, and the MSE is 46%, 39%, and 16% higher, respectively. Our results highlight the effectiveness of the ST-UNet model in capturing spatial correlations and accurately predicting SST. The proposed model is expected to improve marine hydrographic studies. Ship detection aims to automatically identify whether there are ships in the images, precisely classifies and localizes them. Regardless of whether utilizing early manually designed methods or deep learning technology, ship detection is dedicated to exploring the inherent characteristics of ships to enhance recall. Nowadays, high-precision ship detection plays a crucial role in civilian and military applications. In order to provide a comprehensive review of ship detection in optical remote-sensing images (SDORSIs), this paper summarizes the challenges as a guide. These challenges include complex marine environments, insufficient discriminative features, large scale variations, dense and rotated distributions, large aspect ratios, and imbalances between positive and negative samples. We meticulously review the improvement methods and conduct a detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of these methods. We compile ship information from common optical remote sensing image datasets and compare algorithm performance. Simultaneously, we compare and analyze the feature extraction capabilities of backbones based on CNNs and Transformer, seeking new directions for the development in SDORSIs. Despite notable advancements achieved on Hyperspectral (HS) pansharpening tasks through deep learning techniques, previous methods are inherently constrained by convolution or self-attention intrinsic defects, leading to limited performance. In this paper, we proposed an Attention-Interactive Dual-Branch Convolutional Neural Network (AIDB-Net) for HS pansharpening. Our model purely consists of convolutional layers and simultaneously inherits the strengths of both convolution and self-attention, especially the modeling of short- and long-range dependencies. Specially, we first extract, tokenize, and align the hyperspectral image (HSI) and panchromatic image (PAN) by Overlapping Patch Embedding Blocks. Then, we specialize a novel Spectral-Spatial Interactive Attention which is able to globally interact and fuse the cross-modality features. The resultant token-global similarity scores can guide the refinement and renewal of the textural details and spectral characteristics within HSI features. By deeply combined these two paradigms, our AIDB-Net significantly improve the pansharpening performance. Moreover, with the acceleration by the convolution inductive bias, our interactive attention can be trained without large scale dataset and achieves competitive time cost with its counterparts. Compared with the state-of-the-art methods, our AIDB-Net makes 5.2%, 3.1%, and 2.2% improvement on PSNR metric on three public datasets, respectively. Several deep learning and transformer models have been recommended in previous research to deal with the classification of hyperspectral images (HSIs). Among them, one of the most innovative is the bidirectional encoder representation from transformers (BERT), which applies a distance-independent approach to capture the global dependency among all pixels in a selected region. However, this model does not consider the local spatial-spectral and spectral sequential relations. In this paper, a dual-dimensional (i.e., spatial and spectral) BERT (the so-called D2BERT) is proposed, which improves the existing BERT model by capturing more global and local dependencies between sequential spectral bands regardless of distance. In the proposed model, two BERT branches work in parallel to investigate relations among pixels and spectral bands, respectively. The despeckling of synthetic aperture radar images using two different convolutional neural network architectures is presented in this paper. The first method presents a novel Siamese convolutional neural network with a dilated convolutional network in each branch. Recently, attention mechanisms have been introduced to convolutional networks to better model and recognize features. Therefore, we propose a novel design for a convolutional neural network using an attention mechanism for an encoder–decoder-type network. The framework consists of a multiscale spatial attention network to improve the modeling of semantic information at different spatial levels and an additional attention mechanism to optimize feature propagation. Both proposed methods are different in design but they provide comparable despeckling results in subjective and objective measurements in terms of correlated speckle noise. The experimental results are evaluated on both synthetically generated speckled images and real SAR images. This paper presents the design of a high-voltage pulse-based radar and a supervised data processing method for soil moisture estimation. The goal of this research was to design a pulse-based radar to detect changes in soil moisture using a cross-hole approach. The pulse-based radar with three transmitting antennas was placed into a 12 m deep hole, and a receiver with three receive antennas was placed into a different hole separated by 100 m from the transmitter. The pulse generator was based on a Marx generator with an LC filter, and for the receiver, the high-frequency data acquisition card was used, which can acquire signals using 3 Gigabytes per second. Used borehole antennas were designed to operate in the wide frequency band to ensure signal propagation through the soil. A deep regression convolutional network is proposed in this paper to estimate volumetric soil moisture using time-sampled signals. A regression convolutional network is extended to three dimensions to model changes in wave propagation between the transmitted and received signals. The training dataset was acquired during the period of 73 days of acquisition between two boreholes separated by 100 m. The soil moisture measurements were acquired at three points 25 m apart to provide ground truth data. Additionally, water was poured into several specially prepared boreholes between transmitter and receiver antennas to acquire additional dataset for training, validation, and testing of convolutional neural networks. In this paper, we address the problem of covariance matrix estimation for radar adaptive detection under non-Gaussian clutter. Traditional model-based estimators may suffer from performance loss due to the mismatch between real data and assumed models. Therefore, we resort to a data-driven deep-learning method and propose a covariance matrix estimation method based on a complex-valued convolutional neural network (CV-CNN). Moreover, a real-valued (RV) network with the same framework as the proposed CV network is also constructed to serve as a natural competitor. The obtained clutter covariance matrix estimation based on the network is applied to the adaptive normalized matched filter (ANMF) detector for performance assessment. The detection results via both simulated and real sea clutter illustrate that the estimator based on CV-CNN outperforms other traditional model-based estimators as well as its RV competitor in terms of probability of detection (PD). Due to the advantages of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), the study of Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) has become a hot topic. Deep learning, especially in the case of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), works in an end-to-end way and has powerful feature-extracting abilities. Thus, researchers in SAR ATR also seek solutions from deep learning. We review the related algorithms with regard to SAR ATR in this paper. We firstly introduce the commonly used datasets and the evaluation metrics. Then, we introduce the algorithms before deep learning. They are template-matching-, machine-learning- and model-based methods. After that, we introduce mainly the SAR ATR methods in the deep-learning era (after 2017); those methods are the core of the paper. The non-CNNs and CNNs, that is, those used in SAR ATR, are summarized at the beginning. We found that researchers tend to design specialized CNN for SAR ATR. Then, the methods to solve the problem raised by limited samples are reviewed. They are data augmentation, Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), electromagnetic simulation, transfer learning, few-shot learning, semi-supervised learning, metric leaning and domain knowledge. After that, the imbalance problem, real-time recognition, polarimetric SAR, complex data and adversarial attack are also reviewed. The principles and problems of them are also introduced. Finally, the future directions are conducted. In this part, we point out that the dataset, CNN architecture designing, knowledge-driven, real-time recognition, explainable and adversarial attack should be considered in the future. Seismic impedance inversion is a vital way of geological interpretation and reservoir investigation from a geophysical perspective. However, it is inevitably an ill-posed problem due to the noise or the band-limited characteristic of seismic data. Artificial neural network have been used to solve nonlinear inverse problems in recent years. This research obtained an acoustic impedance profile by feeding seismic profile and background impedance into a well-trained self-attention U-Net. The U-Net got convergence by appropriate iteration, and the output predicted the impedance profiles in the test. To value the quality of predicted profiles from different perspectives, e.g., correlation, regression, and similarity, we used four kinds of indexes. At the same time, our results were predicted by conventional methods (e.g., deconvolution with recursive inversion, and TV regularization) and a 1D neural network was calculated in contrast. Self-attention U-Net showed to be robust to noise and does not require prior knowledge. Furthermore, spatial continuity is also better than deconvolution, regularization, and 1D deep learning methods in contrast. The U-Net in this paper is a type of full convolutional neural network, so there are no limits to the shape of the input. Based on this, a large impedance profile can be predicted by U-Net, which is trained by a patchy training dataset. In addition, this paper applied the proposed method to the field data obtained by the Ceduna survey without any label. Polarimetric phased array radar (PAR) can achieve high temporal resolutions for improved meteorological observations with digital beamforming (DBF). The Fourier method performs DBF deterministically, and produces antenna radiation patterns with fixed sidelobe levels and angular resolution by pre-computing the beamforming weights based on the geometry of receivers. In contrast, the Capon method performs DBF adaptively in response to the changing environment by computing the beamforming weights from the received signals at multiple channels. However, it becomes computationally expensive as the number of receivers grows. This paper presents computationally efficient adaptive beamforming with an application of convolutional neural networks, named ABCNN. ABCNN is trained with the phase and amplitude of complex-valued time-series IQ signals and the Capon beamforming weights as input and output. ABCNN is tested and evaluated using simulated time-series data from both point targets and weather scatterers for a planar of fully digital PAR architecture. The preliminary results show that ABCNN lowers computation time by a factor of three, compared to the Capon method, for a phased array antenna with 1024 elements, while mitigating the contamination from sidelobes by placing nulls at the location of the clutter. The automatic calculation of sediment maps from hydroacoustic data is of great importance for habitat and sediment mapping as well as monitoring tasks. For this reason, numerous papers have been published that are based on a variety of algorithms and different kinds of input data. However, the current literature lacks comparative studies that investigate the performance of different approaches in depth. Therefore, this study aims to provide recommendations for suitable approaches for the automatic classification of side-scan sonar data that can be applied by agencies and researchers. With random forests, support vector machines, and convolutional neural networks, both traditional machine-learning methods and novel deep learning techniques have been implemented to evaluate their performance regarding the classification of backscatter data from two study sites located in the Sylt Outer Reef in the German Bight. Simple statistical values, textural features, and Weyl coefficients were calculated for different patch sizes as well as levels of quantization and then utilized in the machine-learning algorithms. It is found that large image patches of 32 px size and the combined use of different feature groups lead to the best classification performances. Further, the neural network and support vector machines generated visually more appealing sediment maps than random forests, despite scoring lower overall accuracy. Based on these findings, we recommend classifying side-scan sonar data with image patches of 32 px size and 6-bit quantization either directly in neural networks or with the combined use of multiple feature groups in support vector machines. With the continuous progress of remote sensing image object detection tasks in recent years, researchers in this field have gradually shifted the focus of their research from horizontal object detection to the study of object detection in arbitrary directions. It is worth noting that some properties are different from horizontal object detection during oriented object detection that researchers have yet to notice much. This article presents the design of a straightforward and efficient arbitrary-oriented detection system, leveraging the inherent properties of the orientation task, including the rotation angle and box aspect ratio. In the detection of low aspect ratio objects, the angle is of little importance to the orientation bounding box, and it is even difficult to define the angle information in extreme categories. Conversely, in the detection of objects with high aspect ratios, the angle information plays a crucial role and can have a decisive impact on the quality of the detection results. By exploiting the aspect ratio of different targets, this letter proposes a ratio-balanced angle loss that allows the model to make a better trade-off between low-aspect ratio objects and high-aspect ratio objects. The rotation angle of each oriented object, which we naturally embed into a two-dimensional Euclidean space for regression, thus avoids an overly redundant design and preserving the topological properties of the circular space. Recently, the improvement of detection performance always relies on deeper convolutional layers and complex convolutional structures in remote sensing images, which significantly increases the storage space and computational complexity of the detector. Although previous work has designed various novel lightweight convolutions, when these convolutional structures are applied to remote sensing detection tasks, the inconsistency between features and targets as well as between features and tasks in the detection architecture is often ignored: (1) The features extracted by convolution sliding in a fixed direction make it difficult to effectively model targets with arbitrary direction distribution, which leads to the detector needing more parameters to encode direction information and the network parameters being highly redundant; (2) The detector shares features from the backbone, but the classification task requires rotation-invariant features while the regression task requires rotation-sensitive features. This inconsistency in the task can lead to inefficient convolutional structures. Therefore, this paper proposed a detector that uses the Feature Decoupling for Lightweight Oriented Object Detection (FDLO-Det). Specifically, we constructed a rotational separable convolution that extracts rotational equivariant features while significantly compressing network parameters and computational complexity through highly shared parameters. Next, we introduced an orthogonal polarization transformation module that decomposes rotational equivariant features in both horizontal and vertical orthogonal directions, and used polarization functions to filter out the required features for classification and regression tasks, effectively improving detector performance. Extensive experiments on DOTA, HRSC2016, and UCAS-AOD show that the proposed detector can achieve the best performance and achieve an effective balance between computational complexity and detection accuracy. The precise classification of crop types using hyperspectral remote sensing imaging is an essential application in the field of agriculture, and is of significance for crop yield estimation and growth monitoring. Among the deep learning methods, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are the premier model for hyperspectral image (HSI) classification for their outstanding locally contextual modeling capability, which facilitates spatial and spectral feature extraction. Nevertheless, the existing CNNs have a fixed shape and are limited to observing restricted receptive fields, constituting a simulation difficulty for modeling long-range dependencies. To tackle this challenge, this paper proposed two novel classification frameworks which are both built from multilayer perceptrons (MLPs). Firstly, we put forward a dilation-based MLP (DMLP) model, in which the dilated convolutional layer replaced the ordinary convolution of MLP, enlarging the receptive field without losing resolution and keeping the relative spatial position of pixels unchanged. Secondly, the paper proposes multi-branch residual blocks and DMLP concerning performance feature fusion after principal component analysis (PCA), called DMLPFFN, which makes full use of the multi-level feature information of the HSI. The proposed approaches are carried out on two widely used hyperspectral datasets: Salinas and KSC; and two practical crop hyperspectral datasets: WHU-Hi-LongKou and WHU-Hi-HanChuan. Experimental results show that the proposed methods outshine several state-of-the-art methods, outperforming CNN by 6.81%, 12.45%, 4.38% and 8.84%, and outperforming ResNet by 4.48%, 7.74%, 3.53% and 6.39% on the Salinas, KSC, WHU-Hi-LongKou and WHU-Hi-HanChuan datasets, respectively. Water bodies extraction is important in water resource utilization and flood prevention and mitigation. Remote sensing images contain rich information, but due to the complex spatial background features and noise interference, problems such as inaccurate tributary extraction and inaccurate segmentation occur when extracting water bodies. Recently, using a convolutional neural network (CNN) to extract water bodies is gradually becoming popular. However, the local property of CNN limits the extraction of global information, while Transformer, using a self-attention mechanism, has great potential in modeling global information. This paper proposes the MU-Net, a hybrid MixFormer architecture, as a novel method for automatically extracting water bodies. First, the MixFormer block is embedded into Unet. The combination of CNN and MixFormer is used to model the local spatial detail information and global contextual information of the image to improve the ability of the network to capture semantic features of the water body. Then, the features generated by the encoder are refined by the attention mechanism module to suppress the interference of image background noise and non-water body features, which further improves the accuracy of water body extraction. The experiments show that our method has higher segmentation accuracy and robust performance compared with the mainstream CNN- and Transformer-based semantic segmentation networks. The proposed MU-Net achieves 90.25% and 76.52% IoU on the GID and LoveDA datasets, respectively. The experimental results also validate the potential of MixFormer in water extraction studies. In recent years, the rapid development of deep learning technology has brought new opportunities for specific emitter identification and has greatly improved the performance of radar emitter identification. The most specific emitter identification methods, based on deep learning, have focused more on studying network structures and data preprocessing. However, the data selection and utilization have a significant impact on the emitter recognition efficiency, and the method to adaptively determine the two parameters by a specific recognition model has yet to be studied. This paper proposes a knowledge graph-driven convolutional neural network (KG-1D-CNN) to solve this problem. The relationship network between radar data is modeled via the knowledge graph and uses 1D-CNN as the metric kernel to measure these relationships in the knowledge graph construction process. In the recognition process, a precise dataset is constructed based on the knowledge graph according to the task requirement. The network is designed to recognize target emitter individuals from easy to difficult by the precise dataset. In the experiments, most algorithms achieved good recognition results in the high SNR case (10–15 dB), while only the proposed method could achieve more than a 90% recognition rate in the low SNR case (0–5 dB). The deep-learning-based image super-resolution opens a new direction for the remote sensing field to reconstruct further information and details from captured images. However, most current SR works try to improve the performance by increasing the complexity of the model, which results in significant computational costs and memory consumption. In this paper, we propose a lightweight model named pixel-wise attention residual network for optical remote sensor images, which can effectively solve the super-resolution task of multi-satellite images. The proposed method consists of three modules: the feature extraction module, feature fusion module, and feature mapping module. First, the feature extraction module is responsible for extracting the deep features from the input spatial bands with different spatial resolutions. Second, the feature fusion module with the pixel-wise attention mechanism generates weight coefficients for each pixel on the feature map and fully fuses the deep feature information. Third, the feature mapping module is aimed to maintain the fidelity of the spectrum by adding the fused residual feature map directly to the up-sampled low-resolution images. Compared with existing deep-learning-based methods, the major advantage of our method is that for the first time, the pixel-wise attention mechanism is incorporated in the task of super-resolution fusion of remote sensing images, which effectively improved the performance of the fusion network. The accuracy assessment results show that our method achieved superior performance of the root mean square error, signal-to–reconstruction ratio error, universal image quality index, and peak signal noise ratio compared to competing approaches. The improvements in the signal-to-reconstruction ratio error and peak signal noise ratio are significant, with a respective increase of 0.15 and 0.629 dB for Sentinel-2 data, and 0.196 and 1 dB for Landsat data. Over the years, remote sensing technology has become an important means to obtain accurate agricultural production information, such as crop type distribution, due to its advantages of large coverage and a short observation period. Nowadays, the cooperative use of multi-source remote sensing imagery has become a new development trend in the field of crop classification. In this paper, the polarimetric components of Sentinel-1 (S-1) decomposed by a new model-based decomposition method adapted to dual-polarized SAR data were introduced into crop classification for the first time. Furthermore, a Dual-Channel Convolutional Neural Network (DC-CNN) with feature extraction, feature fusion, and encoder-decoder modules for crop classification based on S-1 and Sentinel-2 (S-2) was constructed. The two branches can learn from each other by sharing parameters so as to effectively integrate the features extracted from multi-source data and obtain a high-precision crop classification map. In the proposed method, firstly, the backscattering components (VV, VH) and polarimetric components (volume scattering, remaining scattering) were obtained from S-1, and the multispectral feature was extracted from S-2. Four candidate combinations of multi-source features were formed with the above features. Following that, the optimal one was found on a trial. Next, the characteristics of optimal combinations were input into the corresponding network branches. In the feature extraction module, the features with strong collaboration ability in multi-source data were learned by parameter sharing, and they were deeply fused in the feature fusion module and encoder-decoder module to obtain more accurate classification results. The experimental results showed that the polarimetric components, which increased the difference between crop categories and reduced the misclassification rate, played an important role in crop classification. Among the four candidate feature combinations, the combination of S-1 and S-2 features had a higher classification accuracy than using a single data source, and the classification accuracy was the highest when two polarimetric components were utilized simultaneously. On the basis of the optimal combination of features, the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified. The classification accuracy of DC-CNN reached 98.40%, with Kappa scoring 0.98 and Macro-F1 scoring 0.98, compared to 2D-CNN (OA reached 94.87%, Kappa scored 0.92, and Macro-F1 scored 0.95), FCN (OA reached 96.27%, Kappa scored 0.94, and Macro-F1 scored 0.96), and SegNet (OA reached 96.90%, Kappa scored 0.95, and Macro-F1 scored 0.97). Recently, CNN-based methods for hyperspectral image super-resolution (HSISR) have achieved outstanding performance. Due to the multi-band property of hyperspectral images, 3D convolutions are natural candidates for extracting spatial–spectral correlations. However, pure 3D CNN models are rare to see, since they are generally considered to be too complex, require large amounts of data to train, and run the risk of overfitting on relatively small-scale hyperspectral datasets. In this paper, we question this common notion and propose Full 3D U-Net (F3DUN), a full 3D CNN model combined with the U-Net architecture. By introducing skip connections, the model becomes deeper and utilizes multi-scale features. Extensive experiments show that F3DUN can achieve state-of-the-art performance on HSISR tasks, indicating the effectiveness of the full 3D CNN on HSISR tasks, thanks to the carefully designed architecture. To further explore the properties of the full 3D CNN model, we develop a 3D/2D mixed model, a popular kind of model prior, called Mixed U-Net (MUN) which shares a similar architecture with F3DUN. Through analysis on F3DUN and MUN, we find that 3D convolutions give the model a larger capacity; that is, the full 3D CNN model can obtain better results than the 3D/2D mixed model with the same number of parameters when it is sufficiently trained. Moreover, experimental results show that the full 3D CNN model could achieve competitive results with the 3D/2D mixed model on a small-scale dataset, suggesting that 3D CNN is less sensitive to data scaling than what people used to believe. Extensive experiments on two benchmark datasets, CAVE and Harvard, demonstrate that our proposed F3DUN exceeds state-of-the-art HSISR methods both quantitatively and qualitatively. Advances in deep learning techniques for remote sensing as well as the increased availability of high-resolution data enable the extraction of more detailed information from aerial images. One promising task is the semantic segmentation of roof segments and their orientation. However, the lack of annotated data is a major barrier for deploying respective models on a large scale. Previous research demonstrated the viability of the deep learning approach for the task, but currently, published datasets are small-scale, manually labeled, and rare. Therefore, this paper extends the state of the art by presenting a novel method for the automated generation of large-scale datasets based on semantic 3D city models. Furthermore, we train a model on a dataset 50 times larger than existing datasets and achieve superior performance while applying it to a wider variety of buildings. We evaluate the approach by comparing networks trained on four dataset configurations, including an existing dataset and our novel large-scale dataset. The results show that the network performance measured as intersection over union can be increased from 0.60 for the existing dataset to 0.70 when the large-scale model is applied on the same region. The large-scale model performs superiorly even when applied to more diverse test samples, achieving 0.635. The novel approach contributes to solving the dataset bottleneck and consequently to improving semantic segmentation of roof segments. With the wideband beamforming approaches, the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) could achieve high azimuth resolution and wide swath. However, the performance of conventional adaptive wideband time-domain beamforming is severely affected as the received signal snapshots are insufficient for adaptive approaches. In this paper, a wideband beamformer using convolutional neural network (CNN) method, namely, frequency constraint wideband beamforming prediction network (WBPNet), is proposed to obtain a satisfactory performance in the circumstances of scanty snapshots. The proposed WBPNet successfully estimates the direction of arrival of interference with scanty snapshots and obtains the optimal weights with effectively null for the interference by utilizing the uniqueness of CNN to extract potential nonlinear features of input information. Meanwhile, the novel beamformer has an undistorted response to the wideband signal of interest. Compared with the conventional time-domain wideband beamforming algorithm, the proposed method can fast obtain adaptive weights because of using few snapshots. Moreover, the proposed WBPNet has a satisfactory performance on wideband beamforming with low computational complexity because it avoids the inverse operation of covariance matrix. Deep reflection seismic data are usually accompanied by large-offset data, and the accurate and rapid identification of the first arrivals of seismic records plays an important role in eliminating the effects of topography and other factors that increase with the increasing offsets. In this paper, we propose a method based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) that can accurately identify the first arrivals of large-offset seismic data. A time window for linear dynamic correction was established to convert the raw seismic data into rectangular images so as to reduce the amount of invalid sample data and improve the training efficiency. In order to enhance the prediction effect of the far-offset first arrivals, we propose the strategy of adjusting the weight of the far-offset data to increase the weight of the far-offset data in the training dataset and, thus, to improve the first arrival accuracy. The manually picked first arrivals are used as labels and the input to the CNNs for training, and the full-offset first arrivals are the output. The travel time tomography velocity is modeled and compared based on the first arrivals obtained through manual picking, industrial software automatic picking, and CNN prediction. The results show that the application of CNNs to large-offset seismic datasets can help researchers to obtain the first arrivals at different offsets, while the inclusion of far-offset weights can effectively improve the modeling depth of the tomography inversion, and the accuracy of the results is high. Global solar photovoltaic capacity has consistently doubled every 18 months over the last two decades, going from 0.3 GW in 2000 to 643 GW in 2019, and is forecast to reach 4240 GW by 2040. However, these numbers are uncertain, and virtually all reporting on deployments lacks a unified source of either information or validation. In this paper, we propose, optimize, and validate a deep learning framework to detect and map solar farms using a state-of-the-art semantic segmentation convolutional neural network applied to satellite imagery. As a final step in the pipeline, we propose a model to estimate the energy generation capacity of the detected solar energy facilities. Objectively, the deep learning model achieved highly competitive performance indicators, including a mean accuracy of 96.87%, and a Jaccard Index (intersection over union of classified pixels) score of 95.5%. Subjectively, it was found to detect spaces between panels producing a segmentation output at a sub-farm level that was better than human labeling. Finally, the detected areas and predicted generation capacities were validated against publicly available data to within an average error of 4.5% Deep learning applied specifically for the detection and mapping of solar farms is an active area of research, and this deep learning capacity evaluation pipeline is one of the first of its kind. We also share an original dataset of overhead solar farm satellite imagery comprising 23,000 images (256 × 256 pixels each), and the corresponding labels upon which the machine learning model was trained. Change detection (CD) is a crucial task in remote sensing (RS) to distinguish surface changes from bitemporal images. Recently, deep learning (DL) based methods have achieved remarkable success for CD. However, the existing methods lack robustness to various kinds of changes in RS images, which suffered from problems of feature misalignment and inefficient supervision. In this paper, a deeply supervised attentive high-resolution network (DSAHRNet) is proposed for remote sensing image change detection. First, we design a spatial-channel attention module to decode change information from bitemporal features. The attention module is able to model spatial-wise and channel-wise contexts. Point cloud filtering is an important prerequisite for three-dimensional surface modeling with high precision based on LiDAR data. To cope with the issues of low filtering accuracy or excessive model complexity in traditional filtering algorithms, this paper proposes a filtering method for LiDAR point cloud based on a multi-scale convolutional neural network incorporated with the attention mechanism. Firstly, a regular image patch centering on each point is constructed based on the elevation information of point clouds. As thus, the point cloud filtering problem is transformed into the image classification problem. Then, considering the ability of multi-scale convolution to extract features at different scales and the potential of the attention mechanism to capture key information in images, a multi-scale convolutional neural network framework is constructed, and the attention mechanism is incorporated to coordinate multi-scale convolution kernel with channel and spatial attention modules. After this, the feature maps of the LiDAR point clouds can be acquired at different scales. For these feature maps, the weights of each channel layer and different spatial regions can be further tuned adaptively, which makes the network training more targeted, thereby improving the model performance for image classification and eventually separating of ground points and non-ground points preferably. Finally, the proposed method is compared with the cloth simulation filtering method (CSF), deep neural network method (DNN), k-nearest neighbor method (KNN), deep convolutional neural network method (DCNN) and scale-irrelevant and terrain-adaptive method (SITA) for the standard ISPRS dataset of point cloud filtering and the filter dataset of Qinghai. Image dehazing is crucial for improving the advanced applications on remote sensing (RS) images. However, collecting paired RS images to train the deep neural networks (DNNs) is scarcely available, and the synthetic datasets may suffer from domain-shift issues. In this paper, we propose a zero-shot RS image dehazing method based on a re-degradation haze imaging model, which directly restores the haze-free image from a single hazy image. Based on layer disentanglement, we design a dehazing framework consisting of three joint sub-modules to disentangle the hazy input image into three components: the atmospheric light, the transmission map, and the recovered haze-free image. We then generate a re-degraded hazy image by mixing up the hazy input image and the recovered haze-free image. By the proposed re-degradation haze imaging model, we theoretically demonstrate that the hazy input and the re-degraded hazy image follow a similar haze imaging model. This finding helps us to train the dehazing network in a zero-shot manner. The dehazing network is optimized to generate outputs that satisfy the relationship between the hazy input image and the re-degraded hazy image in the re-degradation haze imaging model. Therefore, given a hazy RS image, the dehazing network directly infers the haze-free image by minimizing a specific loss function. Using uniform hazy datasets, non-uniform hazy datasets, and real-world hazy images, we conducted comprehensive experiments to show that our method outperforms many state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods in processing uniform or slight/moderate non-uniform RS hazy images. Although the performance of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) tracking has benefited from the successful application of discriminative correlation filters (DCF) and convolutional neural networks (CNNs), UAV tracking under occlusion and deformation remains a challenge. The main dilemma is that challenging scenes, such as occlusion or deformation, are very complex and changeable, making it difficult to obtain training data covering all situations, resulting in trained networks that may be confused by new contexts that differ from historical information. Data-driven strategies are the main direction of current solutions, but gathering large-scale datasets with object instances under various occlusion and deformation conditions is difficult and lacks diversity. This paper proposes an attention-based mask generation network (AMGN) for UAV-specific tracking, which combines the attention mechanism and adversarial learning to improve the tracker's ability to handle occlusion and deformation. After the base CNN extracts the deep features of the candidate region, a series of masks are determined by the spatial attention module and sent to the generator, and the generator discards some features according to these masks to simulate the occlusion and deformation of the object, producing more hard positive samples. The discriminator seeks to distinguish these hard positive samples while guiding mask generation. Such adversarial learning can effectively complement occluded and deformable positive samples in the feature space, allowing to capture more robust features to distinguish objects from backgrounds. Comparative experiments show that our AMGN-based tracker achieves the highest area under curve (AUC) of 0.490 and 0.349, and the highest precision scores of 0.742 and 0.662, on the UAV123 tracking benchmark with partial and full occlusion attributes, respectively. It also achieves the highest AUC of 0.555 and the highest precision score of 0.797 on the DTB70 tracking benchmark with the deformation attribute. Marine activities occupy an important position in human society. The accurate classification of ships is an effective monitoring method. However, traditional image classification has the problem of low classification accuracy, and the corresponding ship dataset also has the problem of long-tail distribution. Aimed at solving these problems, this paper proposes a fine-grained classification method of optical remote sensing ship images based on deep convolution neural network. We use three-level images to extract three-level features for classification. The first-level image is the original image as an auxiliary. The specific position of the ship in the original image is located by the gradient-weighted class activation mapping. The target-level image as the second-level image is obtained by threshold processing the class activation map. The third-level image is the midship position image extracted from the target image. Then we add self-calibrated convolutions to the feature extraction network to enrich the output features. Finally, the class imbalance is solved by reweighting the class-balanced loss function. Experimental results show that we can achieve accuracies of 92.81%, 93.54% and 93.97%, respectively, after applying the proposed method on different datasets. Hyperspectral sharpening has been considered an important topic in many earth observation applications. Many studies have been performed to solve the Visible-Near-Infrared (Vis-NIR) hyperpectral sharpening problem, but there is little research related to hyperspectral sharpening including short-wave infrared (SWIR) bands despite many hyperspectral imaging systems capturing this wavelength range. In this paper, we introduce a novel method to achieve full-spectrum hyperspectral sharpening by fusing the high-resolution (HR) Vis-NIR multispectral image (MSI) and the Vis-NIR-SWIR low-resolution (LR) hyperspectral image (HSI). The novelty of the proposed approach lies in three points. Firstly, our model is designed for sharpening the full-spectrum HSI with high radiometric accuracy. Secondly, unlike most of the big-dataset-driven deep learning models, we only need one LR-HSI and HR-MSI pair for training. In recent years, deep-learning-based hyperspectral image (HSI) classification networks have become one of the most dominant implementations in HSI classification tasks. Among these networks, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and attention-based networks have prevailed over other HSI classification networks. While convolutional neural networks with perceptual fields can effectively extract local features in the spatial dimension of HSI, they are poor at capturing the global and sequential features of spectral–spatial information; networks based on attention mechanisms, for example, Transformer, usually have better ability to capture global features, but are relatively weak in discriminating local features. This paper proposes a fusion network of convolution and Transformer for HSI classification, known as FusionNet, in which convolution and Transformer are fused in both serial and parallel mechanisms to achieve the full utilization of HSI features. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed network has superior classification results compared to previous similar networks, and performs relatively well even on a small amount of training data. In the modern electromagnetic environment, the intra-pulse modulations of radar emitter signals have become more complex. Except for the single-component radar signals, dual-component radar signals have been widely used in the current radar systems. In order to make the radar system have the ability to classify single-component and dual-component intra-pulse modulation at the same period of time accurately, in this paper, we propose a multi-label learning method based on a convolutional neural network and transformer. Firstly, the original single channel sampled sequences are padded with zeros to the same length. Then the padded sequences are converted to frequency-domain sequences that only contain the amplitude information. After that, data normalization is employed to decrease the influence of amplitude. After radar signals preprocessing, a designed model which combines a convolutional neural network and transformer is used to accomplish multi-label classification. The extensive experiments indicate that the proposed method consumes lower computation resources and has higher accuracy than other baseline methods in classifying eight types of single and thirty-six types of dual-component intra-pulse modulation, where the overall accuracy and weighted accuracy are beyond 90%. Hyperspectral Unmixing is the process of decomposing a mixed pixel into its pure materials (endmembers) and estimating their corresponding proportions (abundances). Although linear unmixing models are more common due to their simplicity and flexibility, they suffer from many limitations in real world scenes where interactions between pure materials exist, which paved the way for nonlinear methods to emerge. However, existing methods for nonlinear unmixing require prior knowledge or an assumption about the type of nonlinearity, which can affect the results. This paper introduces a nonlinear method with a novel deep convolutional autoencoder for blind unmixing. The proposed framework consists of a deep encoder of successive small size convolutional filters along with max pooling layers, and a decoder composed of successive 2D and 1D convolutional filters. The output of the decoder is formed of a linear part and an additive non-linear one. The network is trained using the mean squared error loss function. Several experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method using synthetic and real airborne data. Remote sensing image scene classification (RSISC) plays a vital role in remote sensing applications. Recent methods based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have driven the development of RSISC. However, these approaches are not adequate considering the contributions of different features to the global decision. In this paper, triplet-metric-guided multi-scale attention (TMGMA) is proposed to enhance task-related salient features and suppress task-unrelated salient and redundant features. Firstly, we design the multi-scale attention module (MAM) guided by multi-scale feature maps to adaptively emphasize salient features and simultaneously fuse multi-scale and contextual information. Secondly, to capture task-related salient features, we use the triplet metric (TM) to optimize the learning of MAM under the constraint that the distance of the negative pair is supposed to be larger than the distance of the positive pair. Notably, the MAM and TM collaboration can enforce learning a more discriminative model. As such, our TMGMA can avoid the classification confusion caused by only using the attention mechanism and the excessive correction of features caused by only using the metric learning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our TMGMA outperforms the ResNet50 baseline by 0.47% on the UC Merced, 1.46% on the AID, and 1.55% on the NWPU-RESISC45 dataset, respectively, and achieves performance that is competitive with other state-of-the-art methods. Hyperspectral remote sensing image (HSI) include rich spectral information that can be very beneficial for change detection (CD) technology. Due to the existence of many mixed pixels, pixel-wise approaches can lead to considerable errors in the resulting CD map. The spectral unmixing (SU) method is a potential solution to this problem, as it decomposes mixed pixels into a set of fractions of land cover. Subsequently, the CD map is created by comparing the abundance images. However, based only on the abundance images created through the SU method, they are unable to effectively provide detailed change information. Meanwhile, the features of change information cannot be sufficiently extracted by the traditional sub-pixel CD framework, which leads to a poor CD result. To address these problems, this paper presents an integrated CD method based on multi-endmember spectral unmixing, joint matrix and CNN (MSUJMC) for HSI. Three main steps are considered to accomplish this task. First, considering the endmember spectral variability, more reliable endmember abundance information is obtained by multi-endmember spectral unmixing (MSU). Second, the original image features are incorporated with the abundance images using a joint matrix (JM) algorithm to provide more temporal and spatial land cover change information characteristics. Third, to efficiently extract the change features and to better handle the fused multi-source information, the convolutional neural network (CNN) is introduced to realize a high-accuracy CD result. The proposed method has been verified on simulated and real multitemporal HSI datasets, which provide multiple changes. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
