With the advent of the digital information age, new data services such as virtual reality, industrial Internet, and cloud computing have proliferated in recent years. As a result, it increases operator demand for 5G bearer networks by providing features such as high transmission capacity, ultra-long transmission distance, network slicing, and intelligent management and control. Software-defined networking, as a new network architecture, intends to increase network flexibility and agility and can better satisfy the demands of 5G networks for network slicing. Nevertheless, software-defined networking still faces the challenge of network intrusion. We propose an abnormal traffic detection method based on the stacking method and self-attention mechanism, which makes up for the shortcoming of the inability to track long-term dependencies between data samples in ensemble learning. Our method utilizes a self-attention mechanism and a convolutional network to automatically learn long-term associations between traffic samples and provide them to downstream tasks in sample embedding. In addition, we design a novel stacking ensemble method, which computes the sample embedding and the predicted values of the heterogeneous base learner through the fusion module to obtain the final outlier results. This paper conducts experiments on abnormal traffic datasets in the software-defined network environment, calculates precision, recall and F1-score, and compares and analyzes them with other algorithms. The experimental results show that the method designed in this paper achieves 0.9972, 0.9996, and 0.9984 in multiple indicators of precision, recall, and F1-score, respectively, which are better than the comparison methods. Traffic sign detection is an important part of environment-aware technology and has great potential in the field of intelligent transportation. In recent years, deep learning has been widely used in the field of traffic sign detection, achieving excellent performance. Due to the complex traffic environment, recognizing and detecting traffic signs is still a challenging project. In this paper, a model with global feature extraction capabilities and a multi-branch lightweight detection head is proposed to increase the detection accuracy of small traffic signs. First, a global feature extraction module is proposed to enhance the ability of extracting features and capturing the correlation within the features through self-attention mechanism. Second, a new, lightweight parallel decoupled detection head is proposed to suppress redundant features and separate the output of the regression task from the classification task. Finally, we employ a series of data enhancements to enrich the context of the dataset and improve the robustness of the network. We conducted a large number of experiments to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The accuracy of the proposed algorithm is 86.3%, the recall is 82.1%, the mAP@0.5 is 86.5% and the mAP@0.5:0.95 is 65.6% in TT100K dataset, while the number of frames transmitted per second is stable at 73, which meets the requirement of real-time detection. Object detection is a critical technology of environmental perception for autonomous driving vehicle. The Convolutional Neural Network has gradually become a powerful tool in the field of vehicle detection because of its powerful ability of feature extraction. In aiming to reach the balance between speed and accuracy of detection in complex traffic scenarios, this paper proposes an improved lightweight and high-performance vehicle–pedestrian detection algorithm based on the YOLOv4. Firstly, the backbone network CSPDarknet53 is replaced by MobileNetv2 to reduce the number of parameters and raise the capability of feature extraction. Secondly, the method of multi-scale feature fusion is used to realize the information interaction among different feature layers. Finally, a coordinate attention mechanism is added to focus on the region of interest in the image by way of weight adjustment. The experimental results show that this improved model has a great performance in vehicle–pedestrian detection in traffic scenarios. Experimental results on PASCAL VOC datasets show that the improved model's mAP is 85.79% and speed is 35FPS, which has an increase of 4.31% and 16.7% compared to YOLOv4. Furthermore, the improved YOLOv4 model maintains a great balance between detection accuracy and speed on different datasets, indicating that it can be applied to vehicle–pedestrian detection in traffic scenarios. For facing of the problems caused by the YOLOv4 algorithm's insensitivity to small objects and low detection precision in traffic light detection and recognition, the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is investigated in the paper using the shallow feature enhancement mechanism and the bounding box uncertainty prediction mechanism. The shallow feature enhancement mechanism is used to extract features from the network and improve the network's ability to locate small objects and color resolution by merging two shallow features at different stages with the high-level semantic features obtained after two rounds of upsampling. Uncertainty is introduced in the bounding box prediction mechanism to improve the reliability of the prediction of the bounding box by modeling the output coordinates of the prediction bounding box and adding the Gaussian model to calculate the uncertainty of the coordinate information. The LISA traffic light data set is used to perform detection and recognition experiments separately. The Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is shown to have a high effectiveness in enhancing the detection and recognition precision of traffic lights. In the detection experiment, the area under the PR curve value of the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is found to be 97.58%, which represents an increase of 7.09% in comparison to the 90.49% score gained in the Vision for Intelligent Vehicles and Applications Challenge Competition. In the recognition experiment, the mean average precision of the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is 82.15%, which is 2.86% higher than that of the original YOLOv4 algorithm. Reliable cost-effective traffic monitoring stations are a key component of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). While modern surveillance camera systems provide a high amount of data, due to high installation price or invasion of drivers' personal privacy, they are not the right technology. Therefore, in this paper we introduce a traffic flow parameterization system, using a built-in pavement sensing hub of a pair of AMR (anisotropic magneto resistance) magnetic field and MEMS (micro-electromechanical system) accelerometer sensors. In comparison with inductive loops, AMR magnetic sensors are significantly cheaper, have lower installation price and cause less intrusion to the road. The developed system uses magnetic signature to estimate vehicle speed and length. While speed is obtained from the cross-correlation method, a novel vehicle length estimation algorithm based on characterization of the derivative of magnetic signature is presented. The influence of signature filtering, derivative step and threshold parameter on estimated length is investigated. Further, accelerometer sensors are employed to detect when the wheel of vehicle passes directly over the sensor, which cause distorted magnetic signatures. Results show that even distorted signatures can be used for speed estimation, but it must be treated with a more robust method. In terms of small objects in traffic scenes, general object detection algorithms have low detection accuracy, high model complexity, and slow detection speed. To solve the above problems, an improved algorithm (named YOLO-MXANet) is proposed in this paper. Complete-Intersection over Union (CIoU) is utilized to improve loss function for promoting the positioning accuracy of the small object. In order to reduce the complexity of the model, we present a lightweight yet powerful backbone network (named SA-MobileNeXt) that incorporates channel and spatial attention. Our approach can extract expressive features more effectively by applying the Shuffle Channel and Spatial Attention (SCSA) module into the SandGlass Block (SGBlock) module while increasing the parameters by a small number. In addition, the data enhancement method combining Mosaic and Mixup is employed to improve the robustness of the training model. The Multi-scale Feature Enhancement Fusion (MFEF) network is proposed to fuse the extracted features better. In addition, the SiLU activation function is utilized to optimize the Convolution-Batchnorm-Leaky ReLU (CBL) module and the SGBlock module to accelerate the convergence of the model. The ablation experiments on the KITTI dataset show that each improved method is effective. The improved algorithm reduces the complexity and detection speed of the model while improving the object detection accuracy. Express lanes (ELs) implementation is a proven strategy to deal with freeway traffic congestion. Dynamic toll pricing schemes effectively achieve reliable travel time on ELs. The primary inputs for the typical dynamic pricing algorithms are vehicular volumes and speeds derived from the data collected by sensors installed along the ELs. Thus, the operation of dynamic pricing critically depends on the accuracy of data collected by such traffic sensors. However, no previous research has been conducted to explicitly investigate the impact of sensor failures and erroneous sensors' data on toll computations. This research fills this gap by examining the effects of sensor failure and faulty detection scenarios on ELs tolls calculated by a dynamic pricing algorithm. The paper's methodology relies on applying the dynamic toll pricing algorithm implemented in the field and utilizing the fundamental speed-volume relationship to 'simulate' the sensors' reported data. We implemented the methodology in a case study of ELs on Interstate-95 in Southeast Florida. The results have shown that the tolls increase when sensors erroneously report higher than actual traffic demand. Moreover, it has been found that the accuracy of individual sensors and the number of sensors utilized to estimate traffic conditions are critical for accurate toll calculations. The advantages of UAV video in flexibility, traceability, easy-operation, and abundant information make it a popular and powerful aerial tool applied in traffic monitoring in recent years. This paper proposed a systematic approach to detect and track vehicles based on the YOLO v3 model and the deep SORT algorithm for further extracting key traffic parameters. A field experiment was implemented to provide data for model training and validation to ensure the accuracy of the proposed approach. In the experiment, 5400 frame images and 1192 speed points were collected from two test vehicles equipped with high-precision GNSS-RTK and onboard OBD after completion of seven experimental groups with a different height (150 m to 500 m) and operating speed (40 km/h to 90 km/h). The results indicate that the proposed approach exhibits strong robustness and reliability, due to the 90.88% accuracy of object detection and 98.9% precision of tracking vehicle. Moreover, the absolute and relative error of extracted speed falls within ±3 km/h and 2%, respectively. The overall accuracy of the extracted parameters reaches up to 98%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bearings-only target tracking is commonly used in many fields, like air or sea traffic monitoring, tracking a member in a formation, and military applications. When tracking with synchronous passive multisensor systems, each sensor provides a line-of-sight measurement. They are plugged into an iterative least squares algorithm to estimate the unknown target position vector. Instead of using iterative least squares, this paper presents a deep-learning based framework for the bearing-only target tracking process, applicable for any bearings-only target tracking task. As a data-driven method, the proposed deep-learning framework offers several advantages over the traditional iterative least squares. To demonstrate the proposed approach, a scenario of tracking an autonomous underwater vehicle approaching an underwater docking station is considered. There, several passive sensors are mounted near a docking station to enable accurate localization of an approaching autonomous underwater vehicle.
