Extracting high-accuracy landslide areas using deep learning methods from high spatial resolution remote sensing images is a hot topic in current research. However, the existing deep learning algorithms are affected by background noise and landslide scale effects during the extraction process, leading to poor feature extraction effects. To address this issue, this paper proposes an improved mask regions-based convolutional neural network (Mask R-CNN) model to identify the landslide distribution in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) images. The improvement of the model mainly includes three aspects: (1) an attention mechanism of the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) is added to the backbone residual neural network (ResNet). (2) A bottom-up channel is added to the feature pyramidal network (FPN) module. (3) The region proposal network (RPN) is replaced by guided anchoring (GA-RPN). Sanming City, China was selected as the study area for the experiments. The experimental results show that the improved model has a recall of 91.4% and an accuracy of 92.6%, which is 12.9% and 10.9% higher than the original Mask R-CNN model, respectively, indicating that the improved model is more effective in landslide extraction. A landslide is one of the most destructive natural disasters in the world. The accurate modeling and prediction of landslide hazards have been used as some of the vital tools for landslide disaster prevention and control. The purpose of this study was to explore the application of coupling models in landslide susceptibility evaluation. This paper used Weixin County as the research object. First, according to the landslide catalog database constructed, there were 345 landslides in the study area. Twelve environmental factors were selected, including terrain (elevation, slope, slope direction, plane curvature, and profile curvature), geological structure (stratigraphic lithology and distance from fault zone), meteorological hydrology (average annual rainfall and distance to rivers), and land cover (NDVI, land use, and distance to roads). Then, a single model (logistic regression, support vector machine, and random forest) and a coupled model (IV–LR, IV–SVM, IV–RF, FR–LR, FR–SVM, and FR–RF) based on information volume and frequency ratio were constructed, and the accuracy and reliability of the models were compared and analyzed. Finally, the influence of environmental factors on landslide susceptibility under the optimal model was discussed. The results showed that the prediction accuracy of the nine models ranged from 75.2% (LR model) to 94.9% (FR–RF model), and the coupling accuracy was generally higher than that of the single model. Therefore, the coupling model could improve the prediction accuracy of the model to a certain extent. The FR–RF coupling model had the highest accuracy. Under the optimal model FR–RF, distance from the road, NDVI, and land use were the three most important environmental factors, ac-counting for 20.15%, 13.37%, and 9.69%, respectively. Therefore, it was necessary for Weixin County to strengthen the monitoring of mountains near roads and areas with sparse vegetation to prevent landslides caused by human activities and rainfall. This paper aims to monitor the ambient level of particulate matter less than 2.5 μ m (PM 2.5 ) by learning from multi-weather sensors. Over the past decade, China has established a high-density network of automatic weather stations. In contrast, the number of PM monitors is much smaller than the number of weather stations. Since the haze process is closely related to the variation of meteorological parameters, it is possible and promising to calculate the concentration of PM 2.5 by studying the data from weather sensors. Here, we use three machine learning methods, namely multivariate linear regression, multivariate nonlinear regression, and neural network, in order to monitor PM 2.5 by exploring the data of multi-weather sensors. The results show that the multivariate linear regression method has the root mean square error (RMSE) of 24.6756 μ g/m 3 with a correlation coefficient of 0.6281, by referring to the ground truth of PM 2.5 time series data; and the multivariate nonlinear regression method has the RMSE of 24.9191 μ g/m 3 with a correlation coefficient of 0.6184, while the neural network based method has the best performance, of which the RMSE of PM 2.5 estimates is 15.6391 μ g/m 3 with the correlation coefficient of 0.8701. The metro system plays an important role in urban public transit, and the passenger flow forecasting is fundamental to assisting operators establishing an intelligent transport system (ITS). The forecasting results can provide necessary information for travelling decision of travelers and metro operations of managers. In order to investigate the inner characteristics of passenger flow and make a more accurate prediction with less training time, a novel model (i.e., SSA-AWELM), a combination of singular spectrum analysis (SSA) and AdaBoost-weighted extreme learning machine (AWELM), is proposed in this paper. SSA is developed to decompose the original data into three components of trend, periodicity, and residue. AWELM is developed to forecast each component desperately. The three predicted results are summed as the final outcomes. In the experiments, the dataset is collected from the automatic fare collection (AFC) system of Hangzhou metro in China. We extracted three weeks of passenger flow to carry out multistep prediction tests and a comparison analysis. The results indicate that the proposed SSA-AWELM model can reduce both predicted errors and training time. In particular, compared with the prevalent deep-learning model long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network, SSA-AWELM has reduced the testing errors by 22% and saved time by 84%, on average.
