Numerical simulation of polypropylene laminated paper insulation is a serious challenge, as it must take into account the layered structure and presence of longitudinal and radial gaps in the coils of the winded tape for cables with sector-shape conductive cores. Thus far, it has been performed only with serious simplifications. We propose a technique for numerical modeling of electric parameters in this type of insulation by reducing a complex 3D problem to a simplified 2D model that takes into account the main influencing factors. The results of modeling the distribution of electric field strength and current density in insulation are presented, and the influence of the location of gaps between the edges of winded tape on the conductivity of cable insulation is estimated. Analytical expressions are obtained for estimating the electrical resistance of insulation while taking into account the parameters of the butt gap between the insulating tapes. The results of calculations, numerical modeling, and experimentally measured values of electrical resistance are compared, showing that there is a good match. In this paper, a fractional active disturbance rejection control (FADRC) scheme is proposed for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to enhance high-precision positioning and docking control in the presence of ocean current disturbances and model uncertainties. The scheme comprises a double closed-loop fractional-order PI λ D μ controller (DFOPID) and a model-assisted finite-time sliding-mode extended state observer (MFSESO). Among them, DFOPID effectively compensates for non-matching disturbances, while its fractional-order term enhances the dynamic performance and steady-state accuracy of the system. MFSESO contributes to enhancing the estimation accuracy through the integration of sliding-mode technology and model information, ensuring the finite-time convergence of observation errors. Numerical simulations and pool experiments have shown that the proposed control scheme can effectively resist disturbances and successfully complete high-precision tasks in the absence of an accurate model. This underscores the independence of this control scheme on accurate model data of an operational ROV. Meanwhile, it also has the advantages of a simple structure and easy parameter tuning. Autonomous search is an ongoing cycle of sensing, statistical estimation, and motion control with the objective to find and localise targets in a designated search area. Traditionally, the theoretical framework for autonomous search combines sequential Bayesian estimation with information theoretic motion control. This paper formulates autonomous search in the framework of possibility theory. Although the possibilistic formulation is slightly more involved than the traditional method, it provides a means for quantitative modelling and reasoning in the presence of epistemic uncertainty. This feature is demonstrated in the paper in the context of partially known probability of detection, expressed as an interval value. The paper presents an elegant Bayes-like solution to sequential estimation, with the reward function for motion control defined to take into account the epistemic uncertainty. Active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is widely used in airborne optoelectronic stabilization platforms due to its minimal reliance on the mathematical model of the controlled object. The extended state observer (ESO) is the core of ADRC, which treats internal parameter variations and external disturbances as total disturbances, observes the disturbances as extended states, and then compensates them into the control loop to eliminate their effects. However, the ESO can only achieve a precise estimation of constant or slowly varying disturbances. When the disturbance is periodically changing, satisfactory results cannot be obtained. In this paper, a generalized high-order extended state observer (GHOESO) is proposed to achieve the precise estimation of known frequency sinusoidal disturbance signals and improve disturbance suppression levels. Through numerical simulations, a traditional ESO and GHOESO are compared in terms of disturbance observation capability and disturbance suppression ability for single and compound disturbances based on our prior knowledge of disturbance frequency. The effectiveness of the proposed GHOESO method is verified. Finally, the algorithm is applied to an airborne optoelectronic stabilization platform for a 1°/1 Hz swing experiment on a space hexapod swing table. Simple Summary: This paper presents a novel approach to produce virtual contrast enhanced (VCE) images for nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) without the use of contrast agents, which carry certain risks. This model uses pixelwise gradient term to capture the shape and a GAN terms to capture the texture of the real contrast enhanced T1C images With similar accuracy to existing models, our method shows an advantage in reproducing texture closer to the realistic contrast-enhanced images. This paper introduces a novel approach for virtual contrast enhancement (VCE) in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), particularly focusing on nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). Methods: The proposed model, Pixelwise Gradient Model with GAN for Virtual Contrast Enhancement (PGMGVCE), makes use of pixelwise gradient methods with Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to enhance T1-weighted (T1-w) and T2-weighted (T2-w) MRI images. This approach combines the benefits of both modalities to simulate the effects of gadolinium-based contrast agents, thereby reducing associated risks. Various modifications of PGMGVCE, including changing hyperparameters, using normalization methods (z-score, Sigmoid and Tanh) and training the model with T1-w or T2-w images only, were tested to optimize the model's performance. Results: PGMGVCE demonstrated a similar accuracy to the existing model in terms of mean absolute error (MAE) (8.56 ± 0.45 for Li's model; 8.72 ± 0.48 for PGMGVCE), mean square error (MSE) (12.43 ± 0.67 for Li's model; 12.81 ± 0.73 for PGMGVCE) and structural similarity index (SSIM) (0.71 ± 0.08 for Li's model; 0.73 ± 0.12 for PGMGVCE). Based on the classical grid theory and related regulations, a structure model of a fiber-wound composite gas cylinder was designed in this paper. Based on the design results, a finite element model of a fully wound composite cylinder of an aluminum alloy inner liner with a working pressure of 35 MPa was established based on the ABAQUS software, and its stress distribution under working pressure and minimum burst pressure was analyzed. According to engineering experience, the pressure tolerance of composite cylinders can be improved by proper autofrettage pressure before working pressure, so the influence of autofrettage pressure was analyzed in this paper. The optimum autofrettage pressure was selected by setting the autofrettage gradient, and damage analysis was carried out on the cylinder with nominal working pressure of 35 MPa based on the Hashin failure criterion. The results show the initial damage sequence: matrix stretching occurs before the fiber stretching, and the damage generally starts from the spiral-wound layer. The tensile damage first appears in the transition section between the head and the barrel body, and the damage of the spiral-wound layer develops from the inner layer of the wound layer to the outer layer, while the damage of the circumferentially wound layer develops from the outer layer to the inner layer. This paper deals with the analysis of TRIP steel HCT690 deformation behaviour. The mechanical properties and deformation characteristics of the tested material are determined using selected material tests and tests that consider the required stress states used to define the yield criterion boundary condition and subsequent deformation behaviour in the region of severe plastic deformation. The measured data are subsequently implemented in the numerical simulation of sheet metal forming, where they are used as input data for the computational process in the form of a selected material model defining the yield criterion boundary and, furthermore, the material hardening law during deformation of the material. The chosen numerical simulation process corresponds to the sheet metal forming process, including the subsequent spring-back of the material, when the force does not affect the material. Furthermore, the influence of the chosen computational model and selected process parameters on the deformation and spring-back process of the material is evaluated. This study aimed to design and fabricate planar constricted–expanded structures that are integrated into paper-based channels in order to enhance their chaotic advection and improve their mixing performance. Chromatography papers were used to print paper-based microfluidics using a solid-wax printer. Three different constricted–expanded structures—i.e., zigzag, crossed, and curved channels—were designed in order to evaluate their mixing performance in comparison with that of straight channels. A numerical simulation was performed in order to investigate the mixing mechanism, and to examine the ways in which the planar constricted–expanded structures affected the flow patterns. The experimental and numerical results indicated that the proposed structures can successfully mix confluents. The experimental results revealed that the mixing indices (σ) rose from the initial 20.1% (unmixed) to 34.5%, 84.3%, 87.3%, and 92.4% for the straight, zigzag, curved, and cross-shaped channels, respectively. In addition, the numerical calculations showed a reasonable agreement with the experimental results, with a variation in the range of 1.0–11.0%. In this paper, exact periodic wave solutions for the perturbed Boussinesq equation with power law nonlinearity are obtained for different nonlinear strengths n. When n = 1 , the periodic traveling wave solutions can be found by the definition of the Jacobian elliptic function. When n ≥ 1 , we construct a transformation to solve for the power law nonlinearity, and the periodic traveling wave solutions can be obtained by applying the extended trial equation method. In addition, we consider the limiting case where the periodicity of the periodic traveling wave solutions vanishes, and we obtain the soliton solution for n = 1 . This paper presents a First-Order Recurrent Neural Network activated by a wavelet function, in particular a Morlet wavelet, with a fixed set of parameters and capable of identifying multiple chaotic systems. By maintaining a fixed structure for the neural network and using the same activation function, the network can successfully identify the three state variables of several different chaotic systems, including the Chua, PWL-Rössler, Anishchenko–Astakhov, Álvarez-Curiel, Aizawa, and Rucklidge models. The performance of this approach was validated by numerical simulations in which the accuracy of the state estimation was evaluated using the Mean Square Error (MSE) and the coefficient of determination ( r 2 ), which indicates how well the neural network identifies the behavior of the individual oscillators. In contrast to the methods found in the literature, where a neural network is optimized to identify a single system and its application to another model requires recalibration of the neural algorithm parameters, the proposed model uses a fixed set of parameters to efficiently identify seven chaotic systems. These results build on previously published work by the authors and advance the development of robust and generic neural network structures for the identification of multiple chaotic oscillators. Augmented reality (AR) technology has been widely applied across a variety of fields, with head-up displays (HUDs) being one of its prominent uses, offering immersive three-dimensional (3D) experiences and interaction with digital content and the real world. AR-HUDs face challenges such as limited field of view (FOV), small eye-box, bulky form factor, and absence of accommodation cue, often compromising trade-offs between these factors. Recently, optical waveguide based on pupil replication process has attracted increasing attention as an optical element for its compact form factor and exit-pupil expansion. Despite these advantages, current waveguide displays struggle to integrate visual information with real scenes because they do not produce accommodation-capable virtual content. In this paper, we introduce a lensless accommodation-capable holographic system based on a waveguide. Our system aims to expand the eye-box at the optimal viewing distance that provides the maximum FOV. We devised a formalized CGH algorithm based on bold assumption and two constraints and successfully performed numerical observation simulation. In optical experiments, accommodation-capable images with a maximum horizontal FOV of 7.0 degrees were successfully observed within an expanded eye-box of 9.18 mm at an optimal observation distance of 112 mm. Investigating aircraft flight dynamics often requires dynamic wind tunnel testing. This paper proposes a non-contact, off-board instrumentation method using vision-based techniques. The method utilises a sequential process of Harris corner detection, Kanade–Lucas–Tomasi tracking, and quaternions to identify the Euler angles from a pair of cameras, one with a side view and the other with a top view. The method validation involves simulating a 3D CAD model for rotational motion with a single degree-of-freedom. The numerical analysis quantifies the results, while the proposed approach is analysed analytically. This approach results in a 45.41% enhancement in accuracy over an earlier direction cosine matrix method. Specifically, the quaternion-based method achieves root mean square errors of 0.0101 rad/s, 0.0361 rad/s, and 0.0036 rad/s for the dynamic measurements of roll rate, pitch rate, and yaw rate, respectively. Notably, the method exhibits a 98.08% accuracy for the pitch rate. These results highlight the performance of quaternion-based attitude estimation in dynamic wind tunnel testing. Furthermore, an extended Kalman filter is applied to integrate the generated on-board instrumentation data (inertial measurement unit, potentiometer gimbal) and the results of the proposed vision-based method. The extended Kalman filter state estimation achieves root mean square errors of 0.0090 rad/s, 0.0262 rad/s, and 0.0034 rad/s for the dynamic measurements of roll rate, pitch rate, and yaw rate, respectively. This method exhibits an improved accuracy of 98.61% for the estimation of pitch rate, indicating its higher efficiency over the standalone implementation of the direction cosine method for dynamic wind tunnel testing. We explore the dependence of vacuum energy on the boundary conditions for massive scalar fields in (2 + 1)-dimensional spacetimes. We consider the simplest geometrical setup given by a two-dimensional space bounded by two homogeneous parallel wires in order to compare it with the non-perturbative behaviour of the Casimir energy for non-Abelian gauge theories in (2 + 1) dimensions. Our results show the existence of two types of boundary conditions which give rise to two different asymptotic exponential decay regimes of the Casimir energy at large distances. The two families are distinguished by the feature that the boundary conditions involve or not interrelations between the behaviour of the fields at the two boundaries. Non-perturbative numerical simulations and analytical arguments show such an exponential decay for Dirichlet boundary conditions of SU(2) gauge theories. The verification that this behaviour is modified for other types of boundary conditions requires further numerical work. This paper investigates the Hopf-like bifurcation of a fractional tumor-lymphatic model with two time delays. The two time delays are considered as branching parameters, and we analyze their influences on the dynamic properties of the model. Through an examination of the root distribution of the characteristic equation, we derive the properties of the positive steady state and the conditions for the occurrence of Hopf-like bifurcation near the positive equilibrium point. In shield tunneling, the joint is one of the most vulnerable parts of the segmental lining. Opening of the joint reduces the overall stiffness of the ring, leading to structural damage and issues such as water leakage. Currently, the Winkler method is commonly used to calculate structural deformation, simplifying the interaction between segments and soil as radial and tangential Winkler springs. However, when introducing connection springs or reduction factors to simulate the joint stiffness of segments, the challenge lies in determining the reduction coefficient and the stiffness of the springs. Currently, the hyperstatic reflection method cannot simulate the discontinuity effect at the connection of the tunnel segments, while the state space method overlooks the nonlinear interaction between the tunnel and the soil. Therefore, this paper proposes a numerical simulation method considering the interaction between the tunnel and the soil, which is subjected to compression rather than tension, and the discontinuity of the joints between the segments. The model structure and external load are symmetrical, resulting in symmetrical calculation results. This method is based on the soft soil layers and shield tunnel structures of the Shanghai Metro, and the applicability of the model is verified through deformation calculations using three-dimensional laser scanning point clouds of sections from the Shanghai Metro Line 5. When the subgrade reaction coefficient is 5000 k N / m 3 , the model can effectively simulate the deformation of operational tunnels. By adjusting the bending stiffness of individual connection springs, we investigate the influence of bending stiffness reduction on the bending moment, radial displacement, and rotational displacement of the ring. The results indicate that a decrease in joint bending stiffness significantly affects the mechanical response of the ring, and the extent and degree of this influence are correlated with the joint position and the magnitude of joint bending stiffness. One-dimensional fourth-order boundary value problems (BVPs) play a critical role in engineering applications, particularly in the analysis of beams. Current numerical investigations primarily concentrate on homogeneous boundary conditions. In addition to its high precision advantages, the Hermite finite element method (HFEM) is capable of directly computing both the function value and its derivatives. In this paper, both the cubic and quintic HFEM are employed to address two prevalent non-homogeneous fourth-order BVPs. Furthermore, a priori error estimations are established for both BVPs, demonstrating the optimal error convergence order in H 2 semi-norm and L 2 norm. The intricate geometry and thin walls of the motor housing in new energy vehicles render it susceptible to casting defects during conventional casting processes. However, the lost-foam casting process holds a unique advantage in eliminating casting defects and ensuring the strength and air-tightness of thin-walled castings. In this paper, the lost-foam casting process of thin-walled A356 alloy motor housing was simulated using ProCAST software (2016.0). The results indicate that the filling process is stable and exhibits characteristics of diffusive filling. Solidification occurs gradually from thin to thick. Defect positions are accurately predicted. Through analysis of the defect volume range, the optimal process parameter combination is determined to be a pouring temperature of 700 °C, an interfacial heat transfer coefficient of 50, and a sand thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.5. Microscopic analysis of the motor housing fabricated using the process optimized through numerical simulations reveals the absence of defects such as shrinkage at critical locations. The experimental and numerical simulation analysis of a TiAl alloy by laser metal deposition technology is presented in this paper. The research examines the macroscopic morphology, microstructure, and mechanical properties of samples as laser power varies. It also delves into how the temperature field and residual stress evolve under different laser powers. The results reveal that the microstructure of samples is mainly composed of α2-Ti3Al phase and a γ-TiAl phase and that the details of the microstructure are significantly affected by laser power. As laser power increases, coarse lamellar structure content increases, corresponding to a decrease in α2 phase content. The deposited layer hardness ranges from 550 HV to 600 HV, and the average deposition layer hardness decreases with increased laser power. Simulation results predict the molten pool's size, temperature, and residual stresses. A significant increase in the molten pool size is observed when the laser power exceeds 1000 W, and the measured molten pool depths correspond closely to simulation predictions. However, significant tensile stresses are generated in the deposition layer due to high cooling rates, mainly in the x direction. This paper introduces stochastic disturbances into a semi-parametric SEIR model with infectivity in an incubation period. The model combines the randomness of disease transmission and the nonlinearity of transmission rate, providing a flexible framework for more accurate description of the process of infectious disease transmission. On the basis of the discussion of the deterministic model, the stochastic semi-parametric SEIR model is studied. Firstly, we use Lyapunov analysis to prove the existence and uniqueness of global positive solutions for the model. Secondly, the conditions for disease extinction are established, and appropriate stochastic Lyapunov functions are constructed to discuss the asymptotic behavior of the model's solution at the disease-free equilibrium point of the deterministic model. In this paper, we consider a predator-prey diffusion model incorporating hunting cooperation and predator-taxis. Firstly, we establish the global existence of a classical solution for the model in any spatial dimension. Secondly, we analyze the stability/instability caused by predator-taxis, and we observe that predator-taxis play a key role in inducing stability changes. Specifically, if the positive equilibrium is stable for the corresponding reaction-diffusion model, the attractive predator-taxis can further stabilize the system, while the repulsive predator-taxis may lead to a change in spatial stability, if the positive equilibrium is unstable for the corresponding reaction-diffusion model, the attractive predator-taxis makes the model remain unstable, while the repulsive predator-taxis has a stabilizing effect. This paper investigates the effects of high-frequency switching and a high fundamental frequency on the parameters and efficiency of a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drive. We discuss the design and modeling of the PMSM, taking into account these high-frequency effects. The impact of high frequencies is analyzed across three different inverters (IGBT, Fast IGBT, and SiC-MOSFET) and the motor, and we employ theoretical analysis, computer simulations, and experimental tests for validation. Traditional fossil energy sources still dominate the world energy structure. And fully utilizing biomass is a viable approach for energy transition. A bubbling fluidized bed has better heat and mass transfer, while particle agglomeration limits the development of its industrial application. In this paper, two-phase flow characteristics of a bubbling fluidized bed are investigated by combining numerical simulations and fluidized bed gasification experiments. Numerical simulations found that the bed fluidization height reached twice the initial fluidization height at the 0.054 m initial fluidization height with uniform particle distribution. Fluidized bed gasification experiments found that syngas yield increased with increasing temperature. The carbon conversion efficiency reached 79.3% and the effective gas production was 0.64 m3/kg at 850 °C. In addition, when the water vapor concentration reached 15%, the carbon conversion efficiency and effective gas production reached the maximum values of 86.01% and 0.81 m3/kg, respectively. Multi-material additive manufacturing using heterogeneous powders as raw materials is one of the important development directions of metal additive manufacturing technology. The evaporation behavior of heterogeneous powders in the selective laser melting (SLM) process has a significant influence on the accuracy of chemical composition control and the quality of the final product. In this paper, the fusion process of Fe20Mn (80 wt.% Fe and 20 wt.% Mn) heterogeneous powder, Fe and Mn elemental powders, and Fe20Mn pre-alloyed powder is numerically simulated using FLOW-3D® software and partially validated through SLM experimental results. The morphology and the characteristics of the flow field and temperature field in the melt pool for four kinds of powder materials are analyzed. The influence of the elemental evaporation behavior of different powders on the mass loss of the Mn element is discussed. The results show that the excessive accumulation of heat increases the maximum temperature of the melt pool, thus increasing mass loss. The Fe20Mn heterogeneous powder has a wider heat-affected zone and a higher peak value of temperature, nearly 400 K higher than that of the Fe20Mn pre-alloyed powders, which exhibits an intensive evaporation behavior. The mass loss of the Mn element obtained from the SLM experiment for Fe20Mn heterogeneous powders forming parts is more than the Fe20Mn pre-alloyed powders' forming parts for different laser powers, up to 17 wt.% at P = 120 W. This tendency is consistent with the numerical analysis of the effect of evaporation behavior of Fe–Mn heterogeneous powder during the SLM process. This study provides the necessary theoretical reference and process guidance for realizing the precise control of the SLM composition of a heterogeneous powder in multi-material additive manufacturing caused by evaporation behavior. Experimental research and numerical simulations of the structural response to shock waves with pulse durations of hundreds of milliseconds, or even seconds, are extremely challenging. This paper takes typical single-layer and sandwich cylindrical shells as the research objects. The response rules of cylindrical shells under long-duration blast loadings were studied. The results show that when the pulse duration is greater than or equal to 4~5 times the first-order period of the structure, the maximum response of the structure tends to be consistent, that is, the maximum response of the cylindrical shells with different vibration shapes shows a saturation effect as the pulse duration increases. This study established the relationship between the saturation loading time and the inherent characteristics of the structure. It was found that the saturation effect was applicable under the following conditions, including different load waveforms, elastic–plastic deformation of the structure, and the loading object being a sandwich shell. This will help transform the long-duration explosion wave problem into a finite pulse-duration shock wave problem that can be realized by both experiments and numerical simulations. In the age of information technology and the additional computational search tools and software available, this systematic review aimed to identify potential therapeutic targets for obesity, evaluated in silico and subsequently validated in vivo. The systematic review was initially guided by the research question "What therapeutic targets have been used in in silico analysis for the treatment of obesity?" and structured based on the acronym PECo (P, problem; E, exposure; Co, context). The systematic review protocol was formulated and registered in PROSPERO (CRD42022353808) in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items Checklist for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P), and the PRISMA was followed for the systematic review. The studies were selected according to the eligibility criteria, aligned with PECo, in the following databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, BVS, and EMBASE. The search strategy yielded 1142 articles, from which, based on the evaluation criteria, 12 were included in the systematic review. Only seven these articles allowed the identification of both in silico and in vivo reassessed therapeutic targets. Among these targets, five were exclusively experimental, one was exclusively theoretical, and one of the targets presented an experimental portion and a portion obtained by modeling. The predominant methodology used was molecular docking and the most studied target was Human Pancreatic Lipase (HPL) (n = 4). The lack of methodological details resulted in more than 50% of the papers being categorized with an "unclear risk of bias" across eight out of the eleven evaluated criteria. From the current systematic review, it seems evident that integrating in silico methodologies into studies of potential drug targets for the exploration of new therapeutic agents provides an important tool, given the ongoing challenges in controlling obesity. In this paper, we carry out some research on a predator–prey system with maturation delay, a stage structure for generalist predators and a Holling type-II functional response, which has already been proposed. First, for the delayed model, we obtain the conditions for the occurrence of stability switches of the positive equilibrium and possible Hopf bifurcation values owing to the growth of the value of the delay by applying the geometric criterion. It should be pointed out that when we suppose that the characteristic equation has a pair of imaginary roots λ = ± i ω (ω > 0) , we just need to consider i ω (ω > 0) due to the symmetry, which alleviates the computation requirements. During deep-sea mining, heavy metal pollutants can cause contamination in the marine environment. In this paper, the multiphasic coupling model is established to describe the heavy metal migration process during deep-sea mining, which takes the effects of the convection–diffusion, adsorption–desorption, and sedimentation–resuspension of heavy metals in the aquatic environment into full consideration. Due to the advantages of the Lattice Boltzmann method, it is adopted to numerically solve the multiphasic coupling model and achieve the simulation of the heavy metal migration process during deep-sea mining. In addition, taking cadmium as an example, the concentration variations are discussed and analyzed in detail. Based on the established model and Lattice Boltzmann method, the concentration distribution of heavy metals can be accurately described to provide the reasonable bases for the evaluation of marine environmental protection. As industrial modernization advances rapidly, the need for energy becomes increasingly urgent. This paper aims to enhance the current burner design by optimizing the combustion calorific value, minimizing pollutant emissions, and validating the accuracy of the burner model using experimental data from previous studies. The enhanced porous medium burner model is used to investigate the burner's combustion and pollutant emission characteristics at various flow rates, equivalence ratios, combustion orifice sizes, and porosity of porous media. In comparison with the previous model, the combustion traits during ethylene combustion and the emission properties of pollutants under various operational circumstances have been enhanced with the enhanced porous medium burner model. The maximum temperature of ethylene combustion in the enhanced model is 174 k higher than that before the improvement, and the CO emissions are reduced by 31.9%. Motors are widely employed in mechatronic systems, especially in precision multiple degrees of freedom motion systems. In most applications, the dynamic equation between the motor instruction and the actual driving force is simplified as a constant. Subsequently, the static decoupling method can be utilized to design the feedback controller. However, in high-precision mechatronic systems, motor dynamics cannot be neglected, and the static decoupling performance is compromised due to discrepancies between motors. In this paper, a dynamic decoupling method is developed to improve the decoupling performance of the multiple-input multiple-output systems. The effects of transmission delays, motor dynamics, and discrepancies between different motors are taken into consideration in the dynamic decoupling method. Furthermore, a data-driven optimization method is developed to estimate the parameters of the dynamic decoupling controller. The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are demonstrated through numerical simulations. The experimental results show that the dynamic decoupling control method can achieve a 97.75 % performance improvement at least compared to the static decoupling control method. The present paper provides a brief overview of the existing methods for energy separation and an analysis of the possibility of the practical application of the Hartmann–Sprenger effect to provide quasi-isothermal pressure reduction of natural gas at the facilities within a gas transmission system. The recommendations of external authors are analyzed. A variant of a quasi-isothermal pressure regulator is proposed, which assumes the mixing of flows after energy separation. Using a numerical simulation of gas dynamics, it is demonstrated that the position of the resonators can be determined on the basis of calculations of the structure of the underexpanded jet without taking into account the resonator and, accordingly, without the need for time-consuming calculations of the dynamics of the processes. Based on the results of simulating the gas dynamics of two nozzle–resonator pairs installed in a single flow housing, it is shown that, in order to optimize the regulator length, the width of the passage between the two nearest resonators should be greater than or equal to the sum of diameters of the critical sections of the nozzles. The utilisation of numerical process simulation has greatly facilitated the challenging task of liquid composite moulding (LCM) process optimisation, providing ease of solution evaluation at a significantly reduced cost compared to complete reliance on physical prototyping. However, due to the process complexity, such process simulation is still considerably expensive at present. In this paper, cost-saving approaches to minimising the computational cost of simulation-based optimisation for LCM processes are compiled and discussed. Their specific applicability, efficacy, and suitability for various optimisation/moulding scenarios are extensively explored in detail. The comprehensive analysation and assimilation of their operation alongside applicability for the problem domain of interest are accomplished in this paper to further complement and contribute to future simulation-based optimisation capabilities for composite moulding processes. Explosive shock wave protection is an important issue that urgently needs to be solved in the current military and public security safety fields. Non-metallic protective structures have the characteristics of being lightweight and having low secondary damage, making them an important research object in the field of equivalent protection. In this paper, the numerical simulation was performed to investigate the dynamic mechanical response of non-metallic annular protective structures under the internal blast, which were made by the continuous winding of PE fibers. The impact of various charges, the number of fiber layers, and polyurethane foam on the damage to protective structures was analyzed. The numerical results showed that 120 PE fiber layers could protect 50 g TNT equivalent explosives. However, solely increasing the thickness of fiber layers cannot effectively enhance the protection efficiency. By adding polyurethane foam in the inner layer, the stress acting on the fiber could be effectively reduced. A 30 mm thick polyurethane layer can reduce the equivalent stress of the fiber layer by 41.6%. This article considers the deformation behavior of Panda optical fiber using different models of material behavior for the tasks of predicting residual stresses after drawing when cooling from 2000 °C to room temperature (23 °C) and indenting the fiber into an aluminum half-space at different parameters. These studies were conducted for single- and double-layer protective coatings (PCs), at different values of external load and thickness of single-layer PC. This paper determined the fields of residual stresses in the fiber formed during the drawing process. They are taken into account in modeling the fiber performance in the further process of this research. This article investigated two variants of PC behavior. This paper investigates the stabilization of the generalized Lotka–Volterra (GLV) biological model, which is affected by the asymptotically unbounded external disturbances, and presents some new results. Firstly, two stabilizers are proposed for the nominal GLV system. Then, some appropriate filters are designed and applied to asymptotically track the corresponding disturbances. Based on these filters, two disturbance-estimator (DE)-based controllers are presented to cancel the corresponding disturbances. Compared to the existing results, the advantage of this paper is in handling the asymptotically unbounded external disturbances effectively. The dryer is an important part of the paper drying process, and the uniformity of the dryer wall temperature distribution has an important influence on paper production quality and efficiency. In this paper, improving the temperature uniformity of the traditional gas dryer wall is taken as the research goal, and the distribution trend and uniformity of the traditional gas dryer wall temperature are studied and analyzed, and the structural improvement plan is put forward. On the basis of this, in order to further improve the uniformity of the wall temperature of the improved gas dryer, the optimization scheme of applying endothermic coating in the low-temperature area of the inner wall of the dryer is proposed. The numerical simulation and experimental research methods are used to compare and analyze the temperature uniformity of the wall of the improved gas dryer. The results show that the axial uniformity of the wall temperature of the modified gas dryer is significantly improved. Compared with the traditional gas dryer, the temperature difference of the cylinder wall is reduced from 40 °C to 13 °C, the maximum axial temperature difference of the cylinder wall is reduced by 57%, and the temperature uniformity is increased from 66.7% to 89.6%. Compared with the improved gas dryer, after the endothermic coating is applied to the low-temperature area of the inner wall of the dryer, the temperature difference of the cylinder wall is reduced from 13 °C to 7 °C, the maximum axial temperature difference of the cylinder wall is further reduced by 46%, and the temperature uniformity is increased from 89.6% to 94.4%. The urban underlying surface may affect the thunderstorm process. However, current research on this phenomenon is still in its infancy. This paper aimed to analyze the influence of the urban underlying surface on the evolution of thunderstorm organization through ground observation and numerical simulation. The results indicated that when the thunderstorm system with strong synoptic conditions passed through the built-up area of Beijing, it exhibited obvious bifurcation and detour. The dynamic field of near-surface cold pools could serve as diagnostic indicators for understanding how the urban underlying surface affects the thunderstorm process. The large-scale compact-rise clusters in the city center could alter the movement direction and path of the cold pool outflow, thereby influencing the thunderstorm organization process. In addition to the spatial configuration of the building complex, the city size might also be an important factor influencing the thunderstorm process. In this paper, we introduce an ODE system to model the interaction between natural resources and human exploitation in a rich consumeristic society. In this model, the rate of change in population depends on wealth per capita, and the rate of consumption has a quadratic growth with respect to population and wealth. We distinguish between renewable and non-renewable resources, and we introduce a replenishment term for non-renewable resources. We first obtain some information on the asymptotic behavior of wealth and population, then we compute all system equilibria and study their stability when the resource exploitation parameter is low. In the high-temperature mainstream of gas turbines, there is a rim clearance between the rotor and the stator. A rim seal is to prevent the intrusion of high-temperature gas by spraying cool fluid from the inside of the rim clearance to the outside. In the past research on rim seals, the focus was on the overall performance of the sealing structure, and the flow in the disc cavity was studied more, but the high-radius flow was simplified. In recent years, additional research in the field has focused on more complex sealing structures and high-radius flows, such as the interface between the disk cavity and the mainstream. There is more work to be conducted in this area of research. In this paper, the unsteady numerical simulation of the flow in four different rim sealing geometries is carried out by the URANS method. The flow phenomena and the influence of geometry on the flow are studied. The numerical simulation results are validated with the experimental results. It is found that the fluid in the rim sealing obviously presents two distinct forms and confrontations according to the tangential velocity. The flow in the sealing structure presents obvious circumferential non-uniformity. Compared with the single-axial structure, in the single-radial structure, the mixing area is induced by the radial geometry, and more vortex structures are generated, the mixing process is more intense, and the sealing effect is better. In the double-sealing structure, the inner structure plays the role of a barrier, and the cavity geometry between the two layers has a major influence on the sealing performance. Impulsive blind deconvolution (IBD) is a popular method to recover impulsive sources for bearing fault diagnosis. Its underpinnings are in the design of objective functions based on prior knowledge of impulsive sources and a transfer function to describe transmission path influences. However, popular objective functions cannot retain waveform impulsiveness and periodicity cyclostationarity simultaneously, and the single convolution operation of IBD methods is insufficient to describe transmission paths composed of multiple linear and nonlinear units. Inspired by the MaxPooling period modulation intensity (MPMI) and convolutional sparse learning (CSL), an adaptive multi-D-norm-driven sparse unfolding deconvolution network (AMD-SUDN) is proposed in this paper. The core strategy is that one target vector with simultaneous impulsiveness and cyclostationarity is constructed automatically through the MPMI; then, this vector is substituted into the multi D-norm to design objective functions. Moreover, an iterative soft threshold algorithm (ISTA) for the CSL model is derived, and its iterative steps are unfolded into one deconvolution network. The algorithm's performance and the hyperparameter configuration are investigated by a set of numerical simulations. Finally, the proposed AMD-SUDN is applied to detect the impulsive features of bearing faults. Traditional polymer curing techniques present challenges such as a slow processing speed, high energy consumption, and considerable initial investment. Frontal polymerization (FP), a novel approach, transforms monomers into fully cured polymers through a self-sustaining exothermic reaction, which enhances speed, efficiency, and safety. This study focuses on acrylamide hydrogels, synthesized via FP, which hold significant potential for biomedical applications and 3D printing. Heat conduction is critical in FP, particularly due to its influence on the temperature distribution and reaction rate mechanisms, which affect the final properties of polymers. Therefore, a comprehensive analysis of heat conduction and chemical reactions during FP is presented through the establishment of mathematical models and numerical methods. Existing research on FP hydrogel synthesis primarily explores chemical modifications, with limited studies on numerical modeling. By utilizing Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) data on the curing kinetics of polymerizable deep eutectic solvents (DES), this paper employs Malek's model selection method to establish an autocatalytic reaction model for FP synthesis. In addition, the finite element method is used to solve the reaction–diffusion model, examining the temperature evolution and curing degree during synthesis. The results affirm the nth-order autocatalytic model's accuracy in studying acrylamide monomer curing kinetics. Additionally, factors such as trigger temperature and solution initial temperature were found to influence the FP reaction's frontal propagation speed. The model's predictions on acrylamide hydrogel synthesis align with experimental data, filling the gap in numerical modeling for hydrogel FP synthesis and offering insights for future research on numerical models and temperature control in the FP synthesis of high-performance hydrogels. This paper introduces a model-independent passive source localization method, employing asynchronous distributed hydrophones in shallow water. Based on the frequency invariability of the acoustic field, assuming the correct source range information, the warped spectra of received signals at distributed hydrophones exhibit identical shapes. Subsequently, a cost function is formulated to mutually align the warped spectra, with its maximum point indicating the source location. The proposed method can locate the source in two-dimensional horizontal space without requiring either angle- or time-synchronization information. Upper protective layer (UPL) mining is extensively utilised as a pressure relief strategy to prevent outbursts and coal bursts. However, when the excavation height of the protected layer is substantial, the depressurisation efficacy of the protective layer may be diminished. This paper takes the Haishiwan coal mine in China as a case study and explores the stress evolution and influencing factors in the mining of extra-thick coal seam beneath the protective layer through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field observation. The results indicate that increasing the excavation height of the coal seam will lead to the upward development of the collapse zone in the overburden of the goaf, with the "masonry beam" structure formed at a higher position by key strata blocks. The overburden above the masonry beam will be supported by the coal rock masse on both sides of the structure, leading to increased stress on the coal seam near the goaf and eliminating the depressurisation effect of the protective layer. Numerical simulation shows that factors such as faults, protective layers, interlayer spacing, and the height of coal seam excavation significantly affect the stress distribution in the protected layer. With the increase in interlayer spacing and the thickness of coal seam extraction, the stress reduction phenomenon of the UPL gradually decreases, especially with an abnormal stress concentration of the gob-side coal seam. Observations of Surface subsidence and the distribution of mining-induced seismic events corroborate the conclusions of theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. This paper presents the critical egress parameters that influence emergency evacuation in a typical hospital building. A parametric study of a 20-story hospital building is conducted using a computer model "Pathfinder" to simulate the evacuation efficiency and assess the influencing parameters. The main egress parameters that influence the evacuation efficiency, including the location of stairways, number of stairways, location of the fire, exit width, and number of low-speed occupants are varied. Two scenarios are simulated: one being the regular (practice) evacuation drill and the other is the actual fire drill. The result shows that the location of stairways significantly affects the total evacuation time with the optimal stairway arrangement consisting of one stairway outside the core of the building. Similarly, the story level at which the fire occurs is another key parameter with fires at lower levels being critical to dictating the evacuation time in a hospital building. The total evacuation time when the fire occurs between the third and sixth floor is found to be 170 min which is 36% and 15% higher than fires at the top story levels (15–18th floor) and the intermediate story levels (9–12th floor), respectively. This paper numerically analyzes the influence of heat release rate (HRR) and longitudinal ventilation velocity on smoke distribution characteristics in a T-shaped roadway when the fire source was located upstream of the T-junction. The back-layering length, critical ventilation velocity, smoke temperature, and CO concentration in the main and branched roadway were investigated and analyzed. The results showed that the ventilation velocity is the key factor influencing back-layering length, while the effect of HRR on back-layering length is gradually weakened as HRR increases. The critical ventilation velocity in the T-shaped roadway is higher than in a single-tube roadway, and the predicted model of dimensional critical ventilation velocity in a T-shaped bifurcated roadway is proposed. The correlation between average temperature (Z = 1.6 m) (both in the main roadway I and the branched roadway) and ventilation velocity fits the power function, and the variation in average temperature (Z = 1.6 m) according to HRR fits the linear formula. The relation between average concentration of CO (Z = 1.6 m) (both inside the main roadway I and the branched roadway) and longitudinal ventilation velocity follows the power relation, and the variation in average concentration of CO (Z = 1.6 m) according to HRR follows the linear function. This paper concerns a class of coupled competitive neural networks, subject to disturbance and discontinuous activation functions. To realize the fixed-time quasi-bipartite synchronization, an aperiodic intermittent controller is initially designed. Subsequently, by combining the fixed-time stability theory and nonsmooth analysis, several criteria are established to ensure the bipartite synchronization in fixed time. The soliton propagation of the fractional-in-space nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE) is much more complicated than that of the corresponding integer NLSE. The aim of this paper is to discover some novel fractal soliton propagation behaviors (FSPBs) of this fractional-in-space NLSE. Firstly, the exact solution is compared with the present numerical solution, and the validity and accuracy of the present numerical method are verified. Secondly, the effect of fractional derivatives on soliton propagation is explored through the present numerical simulation results. Integrated optical isolators are important building blocks for photonic integrated chips. Despite significant advances in isolators integrated on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platforms, integrated isolators on GaAs-on-insulator platforms are rarely reported. In this paper, two structural designs of optical isolators based on the TM basic mode of GaAs-on-insulator are proposed. The non-reciprocal phase shift (NRPS) of GaAs/Ce:YIG waveguides with different geometric structures are calculated using numerical simulation. The isolators achieve 35 dB isolation bandwidths greater than 53.5 nm and 70 nm at 1550 nm, with total insertion losses of 2.59 dB and 2.25 dB, respectively. A multi-mode interferometric (MMI) coupler suitable for these two structures is proposed. In addition, suitable manufacturing processes are discussed based on the simulated process tolerances. Vibrating flip-flow screens are widely employed in the deep screening processes of coal washing, solid waste treatment, metallurgy, and other fields, playing a crucial role in enhancing product quality and production efficiency. The screen surface and material movement of vibrating flip-flow screens are highly complex, and there is currently insufficient understanding of their screening mechanism, limiting further optimization and application. In this paper, the Discrete Element Method (DEM), Finite Element Method (FEM), and Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) were integrated to establish a numerical coupling model for vibrating flip-flow screens, considering material loads, screen surface deformation, and screen machine dynamics. The Response Surface Method was utilized to analyze the significant impact of relative amplitude, tension amount, amplitude of driving screen frame, vibration frequency, and screen surface inclination on screening efficiency and material velocity. The results indicate that the most significant factor influencing the screening of flip-flow screens is the screen surface inclination. Based on a BP neural network, a five-degree-of-freedom inclination surrogate model for flip-flow screens was established. The whale algorithm was employed for multi-objective optimization of the surrogate model, resulting in a screen surface inclination distribution that meets the requirements of different operating conditions.
