Binary code similarity detection plays a crucial role in various applications within binary security, including vulnerability detection, malicious software analysis, etc. However, existing methods suffer from limited differentiation in binary embedding representations across different compilation environments, lacking dynamic high-level semantics. Moreover, current approaches often neglect multi-level semantic feature extraction, thereby failing to acquire precise semantic information about the binary code. To address these limitations, this paper introduces a novel detection solution called BinBcla. This method employs an enhanced pre-training model to generate instruction embeddings with dynamic semantics for binary functions. Subsequently, multi-feature fusion technique is utilized to extract local semantic information and long-distance global features from the code, respectively, employing self-attention to comprehend the structure information of the code. Finally, an improved cosine similarity method is employed to learn relationships among all elements of the distance vectors, thereby enhancing the model's robustness to new sample functions. Experiments are conducted across different architectures, compilers, and optimization levels. The study of linear codes over local rings, particularly non-chain rings, imposes difficulties that differ from those encountered in codes over chain rings, and this stems from the fact that local non-chain rings are not principal ideal rings. In this paper, we present and successfully establish a new approach for linear codes of any finite length over local rings that are not necessarily chains. The main focus of this study is to produce generating characters, MacWilliams identities and generator matrices for codes over singleton local Frobenius rings of order 32. To do so, we first start by characterizing all singleton local rings of order 32 up to isomorphism. Many different aspects of software system development and verification rely on precise function identification in binary code. Recognition of the source Assembly functions in embedded systems is one of the fundamental challenges in binary program analysis. While numerous approaches assume that the functions are given a priori, correct identification of the functions in binaries remains a great issue. This contribution addresses the problem of uncertainty in binary code in identification of functions, which were optimized during compilation. This paper investigates the difference between debug and optimized functions via modeling of these functions. To do so, we introduce an extensible model-centred hands-on approach for examining similarities between binary functions. The main idea is to model each function using a set of predetermined, experimentally discovered features, and then find a suitable weight vector that could give impact factor to each such a feature. After finding the weight vector, the introduced models of such desired functions can be identified in binary software packages. It means that we reduce the similarity identification problem of the models to a classical version of optimization problems with one optimization criterion. Using our implementation, we found that the proposed approach works smoothly for functions, which contain at least ten Assembly instructions. Our tool guarantees success at a very high level. We propose a successive cancellation list (SCL) encoding and decoding scheme for the Gelfand Pinsker (GP) problem based on the known nested polar coding scheme. It applies SCL encoding for the source coding part, and SCL decoding with a properly defined CRC for the channel coding part. The scheme shows improved performance compared to the existing method. A known issue with nested polar codes for binary dirty paper is the existence of frozen channel code bits that are not frozen in the source code. These bits need to be retransmitted in a second phase of the scheme, thus reducing the rate and increasing the required blocklength. We provide an improved bound on the size of this set, and on its scaling with respect to the blocklength, when the Bhattacharyya parameter of the test channel used for source coding is sufficiently large, or the Bhattacharyya parameter of the channel seen at the decoder is sufficiently small. The result is formulated for an arbitrary binary-input memoryless GP problem, since unlike the previous results, it does not require degradedness of the two channels mentioned above. This paper proposes a novel automotive radar waveform involving the theory behind M-ary frequency shift key (MFSK) radar systems. Along with the MFSK theory, coding schemes are studied to provide a solution to mutual interference. The proposed MFSK waveform consists of frequency increments throughout the range of 76 GHz to 81 GHz with a step value of 1 GHz. Instead of stepping with a fixed frequency, a triangular chirp sequence allows for static and moving objects to be detected. Therefore, automotive radars will improve Doppler estimation and simultaneous range of various targets. In this paper, a binary coding scheme and a combined transform coding scheme used for radar waveform correlation are evaluated in order to provide unique signals. AVs have to perform in an environment with a high number of signals being sent through the automotive radar frequency band. Efficient coding methods are required to increase the number of signals that are generated. Many families of binary nonlinear codes (e.g., Kerdock, Goethals, Delsarte–Goethals, Preparata) can be very simply constructed from linear codes over the Z 4 ring (ring of integers modulo 4), by applying the Gray map to the quaternary symbols. Generalized Kerdock codes represent an extension of classical Kerdock codes to the Z 2 S ring. In this paper, we develop two novel soft-input decoders, designed to exploit the unique structure of these codes. We introduce a novel soft-input ML decoding algorithm and a soft-input soft-output MAP decoding algorithm of generalized Kerdock codes, with a complexity of O (N S log 2 N) , where N is the length of the Z 2 S code, that is, the number of Z 2 S symbols in a codeword. How to model the effect of reflection is crucial for single image reflection removal (SIRR) task. Modern SIRR methods usually simplify the reflection formulation with the assumption of linear combination of a transmission layer and a reflection layer. However, the large variations in image content and the real-world picture-taking conditions often result in far more complex reflection. In this paper, we introduce a new screen-blur combination based on two important factors, namely the intensity and the blurriness of reflection, to better characterize the reflection formulation in SIRR. Specifically, we present Screen-blur Reflection Networks (SRNet), which executes the screen-blur formulation in its network design and adapts to the complex reflection on real scenes. Technically, SRNet consists of three components: a blended image generator, a reflection estimator and a reflection removal module. The image generator exploits the screen-blur combination to synthesize the training blended images. The reflection estimator learns the reflection layer and a blur degree that measures the level of blurriness for reflection. The reflection removal module further uses the blended image, blur degree and reflection layer to filter out the transmission layer in a cascaded manner. Superior results on three different SIRR methods are reported when generating the training data on the principle of the screen-blur combination. Binary codes have a special place in coding theory since they are one of the most commonly used in practice. There are classes of codes specific only to the binary case. One such class is self-complementary codes. Self-complementary linear codes are binary codes that, together with any vector, contain its complement as well. This paper is about binary linear self-complementary codes. A natural goal in coding theory is to find a linear code with a given length n and dimension k such that the minimum distance d is maximal. Codes with these properties are called optimal. Another important issue is classifying the optimal codes, i.e., finding exactly one representative of each equivalence class. In some sense, the classification problem is more general than the minimum distance bounds problem. In this work, we summarize the classification results for self-complementary codes with the maximum possible minimum distance and a length of up to 20. In visual indoor positioning systems, the method of constructing a visual map by point-by-point sampling is widely used due to its characteristics of clear static images and simple coordinate calculation. However, too small a sampling interval will cause image redundancy, while too large a sampling interval will lead to the absence of any scene images, which will result in worse positioning efficiency and inferior positioning accuracy. As a result, this paper proposed a visual map construction method based on pre-sampled image features matching, according to the epipolar geometry of adjacent position images, to determine the optimal sampling spacing within the constraints and effectively control the database size while ensuring the integrity of the image information. In addition, in order to realize the rapid retrieval of the visual map and reduce the positioning error caused by the time overhead, an image retrieval method based on deep hashing was also designed in this paper. This method used a convolutional neural network to extract image features to construct the semantic similarity structure to guide the generation of hash code. Based on the log-cosh function, this paper proposed a loss function whose function curve was smooth and not affected by outliers, and then integrated it into the deep network to optimize parameters, for fast and accurate image retrieval. Experiments on the FLICKR25K dataset and the visual map proved that the method proposed in this paper could achieve sub-second image retrieval with guaranteed accuracy, thereby demonstrating its promising performance. Nested linear coding is a widely used technique in wireless communication systems for improving both security and reliability. Some parameters, such as the relative generalized Hamming weight and the relative dimension/length profile, can be used to characterize the performance of nested linear codes. In addition, the rank properties of generator and parity-check matrices can also precisely characterize their security performance. Despite this, finding optimal nested linear secrecy codes remains a challenge in the finite-blocklength regime, often requiring brute-force search methods. This paper investigates the properties of nested linear codes, introduces a new representation of the relative generalized Hamming weight, and proposes a novel method for finding the best nested linear secrecy code for the binary erasure wiretap channel by working from the worst nested linear secrecy code in the dual space. The feature graph (Q-H graph) is the best way to intuitively and quantitatively reflect all features of the ventilation network. In this paper, an optimized adaptive genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the problem that rectangular blocks are cut in the process of drawing a Q-H diagram of a three-dimensional ventilation network. The algorithm adopts binary coding based on node sorting and mixed genetic coding based on integer coding. The formulas for calculating the adaptive crossover rate and mutation rate are designed, which can effectively generate new individuals and get rid of the search for local optimal values, ensuring the global optimal solution. Matlab was used to test the optimization effect of the Q-H graph; the results show that, for a complex ventilation network, the improved adaptive genetic algorithm can make the Q-H graph significantly reduce the number of rectangular pieces, which is divided, and make the Q-H graph have better effect to draw clearly and intuitively. The new type of multi-temporal global land use data with multiple classes is able to provide information on both the different land covers and their temporal changes; furthermore, it is able to contribute to many applications, such as those involving global climate and Earth ecosystem analyses. However, the current accuracy assessment methods have two limitations regarding multi-temporal land cover data that have multiple classes. First, multi-temporal land cover uses data from multiple phases, which is time-consuming and inefficient if evaluated one by one. Secondly, the conversion between different land cover classes increases the complexity of the sample stratification, and the assessments with different types of land cover suffer from inefficient sample stratification. In this paper, we propose a spatiotemporal stratified sampling method for stratifying the multi-temporal GlobeLand30 products for China. The changed and unchanged types of each class of data in the three periods are used to obtain a reasonable stratification. Then, the strata labels are simplified by using binary coding, i.e., a 1 or 0 representing a specified class or a nonspecified class, to improve the efficiency of the stratification. Additionally, the stratified sample size is determined by the combination of proportional allocation and empirical evaluation. The experimental results show that spatiotemporal stratified sampling is beneficial for increasing the sample size of the "change" strata for multi-temporal data and can evaluate not only the accuracy and area of the data in a single data but also the accuracy and area of the data in a multi-period change type and an unchanged type. Remote sensing (RS) cross-modal text–image retrieval has great application value in many fields such as military and civilian. Existing methods utilize the deep network to project the images and texts into a common space and measure the similarity. However, the majority of those methods only utilize the inter-modality information between different modalities, which ignores the rich semantic information within the specific modality. In addition, due to the complexity of the RS images, there exists a lot of interference relation information within the extracted representation from the original features. In this paper, we propose a jointly guided deep network for fine-grained cross-modal RS text–image retrieval. First, we capture the fine-grained semantic information within the specific modality and then guide the learning of another modality of representation, which can make full use of the intra- and inter-modality information. Second, to filter out the interference information within the representation extracted from the two modalities of data, we propose an interference filtration module based on the gated mechanism. According to our experimental results, significant improvements in terms of retrieval tasks can be achieved compared with state-of-the-art algorithms. We study the probability of an undetected error for general q-ary codes. We give upper and lower bounds on this quantity, by the Linear Programming and the Polynomial methods, as a function of the length, size, and minimum distance. The number-theoretic code is a class of codes defined by single or multiple congruences. These codes are mainly used for correcting insertion and deletion errors, and for correcting asymmetric errors. This paper presents a formula for a generalization of the complete weight enumerator for the number-theoretic codes. This formula allows us to derive the weight enumerators and cardinalities for the number-theoretic codes. As a special case, this paper provides the Hamming weight enumerators and cardinalities of the non-binary Tenengolts’ codes, correcting single insertion or deletion. The traditional pointer instrument recognition scheme is implemented in three steps, which is cumbersome and inefficient. So it is difficult to apply to the industrial production of real-time monitoring. Based on the improvement of the CSL coding method and the setting of the pre-cache mechanism, an intelligent reading recognition technology of the YOLOv5 pointer instrument is proposed in this paper, which realizes the rapid positioning and reading recognition of the pointer instrument. The problem of angle interaction in rotating target detection is eliminated, the complexity of image preprocessing is avoided, and the problems of poor adaptability of Hough detection are solved in this strategy. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional algorithm, the algorithm in this paper can effectively identify the angle of the pointer instrument, has high detection efficiency and strong adaptability, and has broad application prospects. This paper reveals the hidden dangers of reverse data modifications on distributed software with network synchronization, during the era of 5G, which may occur in more important domains, such as telemedicine and automatic driving. We used pseudo-codes to formally elaborate the distributed software architectures and design patterns. It is necessary to deal with three challenges for the modification of binary code and data in the distributed software architectures: (1) the base virtual addresses of software objects are changed frequently for safety; (2) prior knowledge of the reverse is not considered; (3) system memory values of some target objects are changed with extreme speed. For this purpose, a novel reverse modification method for binary code and data is proposed. According to the knowledge-based rules, our method can manipulate physical data, sight data, animation data, etc., while the game synchronization mechanism cannot detect the changes. The implementation details of our method are presented using high-level programming languages (C++) and low-level programming languages (assembly), based on multiple snippets, so that readers can understand both the overall distributed software developments and the corresponding reverse processes. In particular, two network games are used for the demonstrations in this paper. The demonstration results show that our proposed methodology is efficient (as proved by formulas and practices) to manipulate the codes and data of distributed software using a synchronization mechanism. High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) has a higher coding efficiency, its encoding performance must be increased to keep up with the expanding number of multimedia applications. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel Rectified Linear Unit-Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory-based Tree Social Relations Optimization (ReLU-BiLSTM-based TSRO) method to enhance the quality of video transmission. The significant objective of our proposed method aims in enhancing the standards of entropy encoding process in HEVC. Here, context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) framework which is prevalent and an improved form of entropy coding model is utilized in HEVC standards. In addition to this, the performances of the proposed method are determined by evaluating various measures such as mean square error, cumulative distribution factor, compression ratio, peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and bit error rate. Finally, the proposed method is examined with five different sequences of video from football, tennis, garden, mobile and coastguard. The performances of the proposed method are compared with various approaches, and the result analysis shows that the proposed method attained minimum mean square error (MSE) loss with maximum PSNR rate. Many metrics exist for the evaluation of binary classifiers, all with their particular advantages and shortcomings. Recently, an "Efficiency Index" (EI) for the evaluation of classifiers has been proposed, based on the consistency (or matching) and contradiction (or mismatching) of outcomes. This metric and its confidence intervals are easy to calculate from the base data in a 2 × 2 contingency table, and their values can be qualitatively and semi-quantitatively categorised. For medical tests, in which context the Efficiency Index was originally proposed, it facilitates the communication of risk (of the correct diagnosis versus misdiagnosis) to both clinicians and patients. Variants of the Efficiency Index (balanced, unbiased) which take into account disease prevalence and test cut-offs have also been described. The objectives of the current paper were firstly to extend the EI construct to other formulations (balanced level, quality), and secondly to explore the utility of the EI and all four of its variants when applied to the dataset of a large prospective test accuracy study of a cognitive screening instrument. This paper analyses the design of a healthy interior environment using big data intelligence. The application of big data intelligence in the design of healthy interior environments is necessary because the traditional interior design approaches consume a lot of energy and other problems. Benefited by its strong ability of computation and analytics, artificial intelligence can well improve a series of problems in the field of interior design. The proposal summarizes the sources, classifications, and expressions of behavioral data in interior spaces, carries out analysis and research on behavioral data from two aspects: display space and supermarket space, summarizes the interior methods based on behavioral data, and analyses the visualization application of behavioral data in different interior scenes, to explore the application value of behavioral data in interior design. In contrast to it is the unconscious behavioral response, the biggest characteristic of which is that it is regulated by the behavioral subject's physiological factors or habits of the behavior issuer. In this paper, we convert the layout recommendation problem of a space into a functional classification problem of segmented segments and household segments on a plane. The scene layout features are extracted by binary coding, the abstraction of the cross features between the vector segments is achieved by using a word embedding algorithm, the feature matrix is reduced in dimensionality, and finally, the segmentation network model and the layout network model are constructed, respectively, by using a bidirectional LSTM. Linear codes generated by component functions of perfect nonlinear (PN for short) and almost perfect nonlinear (APN for short) functions and the first-order Reed-Muller codes have been an object of intensive study in coding theory. The objective of this paper is to investigate some binary shortened codes of two families of linear codes from APN functions and some $p$ -ary shortened codes associated with PN functions. The weight distributions of these shortened codes and the parameters of their duals are determined. The parameters of these binary codes and $p$ -ary codes are flexible. Many of the codes presented in this paper are optimal or almost optimal. The results of this paper show that the shortening technique is very promising for constructing good codes. Template security and privacy is of utmost significance while designing a biometric system. Several biometric template protection systems have been presented in the past, but none of them have succeeded in striking a compromise between matching performance and security. This paper proposes a hybrid template protection technique for a multibiometric system based on deep binarization and secure hashing. The technique is employed at different stages of multibiometric fusion. In particular, the proposed technique of multibiometric fusion for template protection is tested using face and electrocardiogram (ECG) biometrics. The pre-trained deep CNN model utilizes transfer learning to analyze both the biometrics and prepare multimodal templates at different stages of biometric fusion e.g. sensors, features, and matchers. The templates obtained from different states of fusion are mapped to their corresponding classes, which are represented as binary codes that are unique and randomly generated. The binary codes are further encrypted for noninvertibility using a cryptographic hash, and thus the information of fused templates is hidden. Finally, hash codes are used to perform matching. The evaluation of the proposed technique using database for face (Multi-PIE) and ECG (PTB) biometrics reports high accuracy satisfying the requirements of unlinkability, cancelability, and irreversibility for template protection. In recent years, researchers have studied various methods for transferring data in a network-separated environment, and the most representative method is the use of inaudible frequency signals like ultrasonic waves. This method has the advantage of being able to transfer data without other people noticing, but it has the disadvantage that speakers must exist. In a laboratory or company, external speakers may not be attached to each computer. Therefore, this paper presents a new covert channel attack that transfers data using internal speakers on the computer's motherboard. The internal speaker can also produce a sound of the desired frequency, and, therefore, data can be transferred using high frequency sounds. We encode data into Morse code or binary code and transfer it. Then we record it using a smartphone. At this time, the location of the smartphone can be any distance within 1.5 m when the length per bit is longer than 50 ms, such as on the computer body or on the desk. Data are obtained by analyzing the recorded file. Our results show that data is transferred from a network-separated computer using an internal speaker with 20 bits/s in maximum. Binary code similarity detection (BCSD) plays a big role in the process of binary application security test. It can be applied in several fields, such as software plagiarism detection, malware analysis, vulnerability detection. Most research is based on recurrent neural networks, which is difficult to get the overall or long-distance semantic information of functions. Besides, exiting works simply extract high-level semantic features, lacking in-depth investigations on the potential mechanisms for fusing low-level and high-level semantic features. In this paper we propose a multi-semantic feature fusion attention network (MFFA-Net) for BCSD. MFFA-Net contains two critical modules: semantic feature fusion (SFF) and attention feature fusion (AFF). The SFF module concatenates multiple semantic features to represent the semantics of the function, which helps to obtain the overall semantic information of the function. The AFF module is designed to find useful information from various features, which assigns an attention matrix to research the relationship between features. In order to evaluate the proposed method, we made extensive experiments on two datasets. MFFA-Net can achieve a high degree of AUC at 99.6% and 98.3% respectively on the two datasets. This paper considers three kinds of quasi-cyclic codes of index two with one generator or two generators and their applications in quantum code construction. In accordance with the algebraic structure of linear codes, we determine the lower bounds of the symplectic weights of these quasi-cyclic codes. Quasi-cyclic codes with the dual-containing property enable the construction of quantum codes. Defining the coefficient symmetric polynomials of the generator polynomials gives a concise condition for the dual-containing of the quasi-cyclic codes. The lower bound results can significantly reduce the scope of the search for a larger minimum distance of quasi-cyclic codes. With these algebraic results and computer supports, we obtain classical quasi-cyclic codes with better parameters and some new quantum codes under the symplectic construction. Online hashing is a valid storage and online retrieval scheme, which is meeting the rapid increase in data in the optical-sensor network and the real-time processing needs of users in the era of big data. Existing online-hashing algorithms rely on data tags excessively to construct the hash function, and ignore the mining of the structural features of the data itself, resulting in a serious loss of the image-streaming features and the reduction in retrieval accuracy. In this paper, an online hashing model that fuses global and local dual semantics is proposed. First, to preserve the local features of the streaming data, an anchor hash model, which is based on the idea of manifold learning, is constructed. Second, a global similarity matrix, which is used to constrain hash codes is built by the balanced similarity between the newly arrived data and previous data, which makes hash codes retain global data features as much as possible. Then, under a unified framework, an online hash model that integrates global and local dual semantics is learned, and an effective discrete binary-optimization solution is proposed. A large number of experiments on three datasets, including CIFAR10, MNIST and Places205, show that our proposed algorithm improves the efficiency of image retrieval effectively, compared with several existing advanced online-hashing algorithms. A new road map for design is emerging out of interdisciplinary research across biology and design. Whilst in the second part of the twentieth century, the emergence of the digital realm altered and radically challenged conventional design and manufacturing processes, the beginning of the twenty-first century marks a strong shift towards the amalgamation of the binary code (1s and 0s) with biological systems. With advances in synthetic biology, we can now 'biofabricate' like Nature does. By tinkering and altering the DNA code or the environment of growth of living organisms, we can effectively 'design' and grow new biomaterials. The role of design is shifting from working with inanimate matter such as plastic and metals to making with animate living entities such as mycelium, yeast and bacteria. This paradigm shift promises to open up new possibilities for biofabricating future intelligent materials as well as for engaging with new sustainable processes. This paper examines strategies and tools for designing with living systems and proposes a framework for design to engage with our future bio-materiality. From biofabrication experiments to synthetic biology propositions, the paper will investigate a series of design artifacts that explores strategies such as co-designing with natural organisms or actuating a new synthetic nature and develop a critique of how biodesign can help shifting towards the crafting of a future sustainable intelligent bio-materiality. This paper presents a lossless image compression method with a fast decoding time and flexible adjustment of coder parameters affecting its implementation complexity. A comparison of several approaches for computing non-MMSE prediction coefficients with different levels of complexity was made. The data modeling stage of the proposed codec was based on linear (calculated by the non-MMSE method) and non-linear (complemented by a context-dependent constant component removal block) predictions. Prediction error coding uses a two-stage compression: an adaptive Golomb code and a binary arithmetic code. Parameter estimation is extremely important for a radar jammer. With binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signals widely applied in radar systems, estimating the parameters of BPSK signals has attracted increasing attention. However, the BPSK signal is difficult to be processed by traditional time frequency analysis methods due to its phase jumping and abrupt discontinuity features which makes it difficult to extract PN (PN) codes of the BPSK signal. To solve this problem, a two-step PN codes estimation method based on sparse recovery is introduced in this paper. The proposed method first pretreats the BPSK signal by estimating its center frequency and converting it to zero intermediate frequency (ZIF). The pretreatment transforms phase jumps of the BPSK signal into the level jumps of the ZIF signal. By nonconvex sparsity promoting regularization, the level jumps of the ZIF signal are extracted through an iterative algorithm. Its effectiveness is verified by numeric simulations and semiphysical tests. This paper presents a low-area 8-bit flash ADC that consumes low power. The flash ADC includes four main blocks—an analog multiplexer (MUX), a comparator, an encoder, and an SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) block. The MUX allows the selection between eight analog inputs. The comparator block contains a TIQ (Threshold Inverter Quantization) comparator, a control circuit, and a proposed architecture of a Double-Tail (DT) comparator. The advantage of using the DT comparator is to reduce the number of comparators by half, which helps reduce the design area. The SPI block can provide a simple way for the ADC to interface with microcontrollers. This mixed-signal circuitry is designed and simulated using 180 nm CMOS technology. The 8-bit flash ADC only employs 128 comparators. The applied input clock is 80 MHz, with the input voltage ranging from 0.6 V to 1.8 V. The comparator block outputs 127 bits of thermometer code and sends them to the encoder, which exports the seven least significant bits (LSB) of the binary code. The most significant bit (MSB) is decided by only one DT comparator. The design consumes 2.81 mW of power on average. The total area of the layout is 0.088 mm2. The binary quadratic-residue codes and the punctured Reed-Muller codes ${\mathcal {R}}_{2}((m-1)/2, m))$ are two families of binary cyclic codes with parameters $[n, (n+1)/2, d \geq \sqrt {n}]$. These two families of binary cyclic codes are interesting partly due to the fact that their minimum distances have a square-root bound. The objective of this paper is to construct two families of binary cyclic codes of length $2^{m}-1$ and dimension near $2^{m-1}$ with good minimum distances. When $m \geq 3$ is odd, the codes become a family of duadic codes with parameters $[2^{m}-1, 2^{m-1}, d]$ , where $d \geq 2^{(m-1)/2}+1$ if $m \equiv 3 \pmod {4}$ and $d \geq 2^{(m-1)/2}+3$ if $m \equiv 1 \pmod {4}$. Binary code similarity measurement is a popular research area in binary analysis with the recent development of deep learning-based models. Current state-of-the-art methods often use the pre-trained language model (PTLM) to embed instructions into basic blocks as representations of nodes within a control flow graph (CFG). These methods will then use the graph neural network (GNN) to embed the whole CFG and measure the binary similarities between these code embeddings. However, these methods almost directly treat the assembly code as a natural language text and ignore its code-specific features when training PTLM. Moreover, They barely consider the direction of edges in the CFG or consider it less efficient. The weaknesses of the above approaches may limit the performances of previous methods. In this paper, we propose a novel method called function similarity using code-specific PPTs and order-sensitive GNN (FUSION). Since the similarity of binary codes is a symmetric/asymmetric problem, we were guided by the ideas of symmetry and asymmetry in our research. They measure the binary function similarity with two code-specific PTLM training strategies and an order-sensitive GNN, which, respectively, alleviate the aforementioned weaknesses. The exact solution of the NP-hard (nondeterministic polynomial-time hard) maximum cut problem is important in many applications across, for example, physics, chemistry, neuroscience, and circuit layout—which is also due to its equivalence to the unconstrained binary quadratic optimization problem. Leading solution methods are based on linear or semidefinite programming and require the separation of the so-called odd-cycle inequalities. In their groundbreaking research, F. Barahona and A. R. Mahjoub have given an informal description of a polynomial-time algorithm for this problem. As pointed out recently, however, additional effort is necessary to guarantee that the inequalities obtained correspond to facets of the cut polytope. In this paper, we shed more light on a so enhanced separation procedure and investigate experimentally how it performs in comparison with an ideal setting where one could even employ the sparsest, most violated, or geometrically most promising facet-defining odd-cycle inequalities. Summary of Contribution: This paper aims at a better capability to solve binary quadratic optimization or maximum cut problems and their various applications using integer programming techniques. To this end, the paper describes enhancements to a well-known algorithm for the central separation problem arising in this context; it is demonstrated experimentally that these enhancements are worthwhile from a computational point of view. The linear relaxations of the aforementioned problems are typically solved using fewer iterations and cutting planes than with a nonenhanced approach. Boolean functions with high algebraic immunity are important cryptographic primitives in some stream ciphers. In this paper, two methodologies for constructing minimal binary codes from sets, Boolean functions and vectorial Boolean functions with high algebraic immunity, are proposed. More precisely, a general construction of new minimal codes using minimal codes contained in Reed-Muller codes and sets without nonzero low degree annihilators is presented. The other construction allows us to yield minimal codes from certain subcodes of Reed-Muller codes and vectorial Boolean functions with high algebraic immunity. Via these general constructions, infinite families of minimal binary linear codes of dimension $m$ and length less than or equal to $m(m+1)/2$ are obtained. Besides, a lower bound on the minimum distance of the proposed minimal linear codes is established. Conjectures and open problems are also presented. The results of this paper show that Boolean functions with high algebraic immunity have nice applications in several fields additionally to symmetric cryptography, such as coding theory and secret sharing schemes. This paper evaluates the practically achievable best error performance obtained from a dimmable visible light communication (VLC) system that conveys information using binary modulations, such as on-off keying (OOK). As compared to previous studies that address the ideal performance of dimmable VLC systems only over reliable channels with arbitrarily small error probability, this paper presents the best achievable error probability of various configurations with the dimming targets, signal quality, and data rate. The numerical results establish the ultimate decoding error performance targeted for dimmable VLC systems and are expected to provide a practical guideline for the enhanced VLC system design. Two general constructions of linear codes with functions over finite fields have been extensively studied in the literature. The first one is given by C(ƒ) = {Tr(aƒ(x) + bx)x∈Fqm*: a, b ∈ Fqm}, where q is a prime power, Fqm* = Fqm \ {0}, Tr is the trace function from Fqm to Fq, and ƒ(x) is a function from Fqm to Fqm with ƒ(0) = 0. Almost bent functions, quadratic functions and some monomials on F2m were used in the first construction, and many families of binary linear codes with few weights were obtained in the literature. This paper studies some punctured codes of these binary codes. Several families of binary linear codes with few weights and new parameters are obtained in this paper. In this paper, we apply two-to-one functions over F2n in two generic constructions of binary linear codes. We consider two-to-one functions in two forms: (1) generalized quadratic functions; and (2) (x2t + x)e with gcd (t, n) = gcd(e, 2n−1) = 1. Based on the study of the Walsh transforms of those functions or their variants, we present many classes of linear codes with few nonzero weights, including one weight, three weights, four weights, and five weights. The weight distributions of the proposed codes with one weight and with three weights are determined. In addition, we discuss the minimum distance of the dual of the constructed codes and show that some of them achieve the sphere packing bound. Nowadays, the resistance against algebraic attacks and fast algebraic attacks are considered as an important cryptographic property for Boolean functions used in stream ciphers. Both attacks are very powerful analysis concepts and can be applied to symmetric cryptographic algorithms used in stream ciphers. The notion of algebraic immunity has received wide attention since it is a powerful tool to measure the resistance of a Boolean function to standard algebraic attacks. Nevertheless, an algebraic tool to handle the resistance to fast algebraic attacks is not clearly identified in the literature. In the current paper, we propose a new parameter to measure a Boolean function’s resistance to fast algebraic attack. We also introduce the notion of fast immunity profile and show that it informs both on the resistance to standard and fast algebraic attacks. Further, we evaluate our parameter for two secondary constructions of Boolean functions. Moreover, A coding-theory approach to the characterization of perfect algebraic immune functions is presented. Via this characterization, infinite families of binary linear complementary dual codes (or LCD codes for short) are obtained from perfect algebraic immune functions. Some of the binary LCD codes presented in this paper are optimal. These binary LCD codes have applications in armoring implementations against so-called side-channel attacks (SCA) and fault non-invasive attacks, in addition to their applications in communication and data storage systems. Symbol-pair codes were introduced by Cassuto and Blaum in 2010 to protect pair errors in symbol-pair read channels. Recently Yaakobi, Bruck and Siegel (2016) generalized this notion to b-symbol codes in order to consider consecutive b errors for a prescribed integer b ≥ 2, and they gave constructions and decoding algorithms. Cyclic codes were considered by various authors as candidates for symbol-pair codes and they established minimum distance bounds on (certain) cyclic codes. In this paper we use algebraic curves over finite fields in order to obtain tight lower and upper bounds on b-symbol Hamming weights of arbitrary cyclic codes over Fq. Here b ≥ 2 is an arbitrary prescribed positive integer and Fq is an arbitrary finite field. We also present a stability theorem for an arbitrary cyclic code C of dimension k and length n: the b-symbol Hamming weight enumerator of C is the same as the k-symbol Hamming weight enumerator of C if k ≤ b ≤ n−1. It is essential to estimate the sleep quality and diagnose the clinical stages in time and at home, because they are closely related to and important causes of chronic diseases and daily life dysfunctions. However, the existing "gold-standard" sensing machine for diagnosis (Polysomnography (PSG) with Electroencephalogram (EEG) measurements) is almost infeasible to deploy at home in a "ubiquitous" manner. In addition, it is costly to train clinicians for the diagnosis of sleep conditions. In this paper, we proposed a novel technical and systematic attempt to tackle the previous barriers: first, we proposed to monitor and sense the sleep conditions using the infrared (IR) camera videos synchronized with the EEG signal; second, we proposed a novel cross-modal retrieval system termed as Cross-modal Contrastive Hashing Retrieval (CCHR) to build the relationship between EEG and IR videos, retrieving the most relevant EEG signal given an infrared video. Specifically, the CCHR is novel in the following two perspectives. Firstly, to eliminate the large cross-modal semantic gap between EEG and IR data, we designed a novel joint cross-modal representation learning strategy using a memory-enhanced hard-negative mining design under the framework of contrastive learning. Secondly, as the sleep monitoring data are large-scale (8 h long for each subject), a novel contrastive hashing module is proposed to transform the joint cross-modal features to the discriminative binary hash codes, enabling the efficient storage and inference. Extensive experiments on our collected cross-modal sleep condition dataset validated that the proposed CCHR achieves superior performances compared with existing cross-modal hashing methods. A $\mathbb {Z}_{2^{s}}$ -linear code is a binary code (not necessarily linear) which is the Gray map image of a $\mathbb {Z}_{2^{s}}$ -additive code. We consider $\mathbb {Z}_{2^{s}}$ -additive simplex codes of type $\alpha $ and $\beta $ , which are a generalization over $\mathbb {Z}_{2^{s}}$ of the binary simplex codes. These codes are related to the $\mathbb {Z}_{2^{s}}$ -additive Hadamard codes. In this paper, we use this relationship to find a linear subcode of the corresponding $\mathbb {Z}_{2^{s}}$ -linear codes, called kernel, and a representation of these codes as cosets of this kernel. Blaum–Roth Codes are binary maximum distance separable (MDS) array codes over the binary quotient ring F 2 [ x ] / (M p (x)) , where M p (x) = 1 + x + ⋯ + x p − 1 , and p is a prime number. Two existing all-erasure decoding methods for Blaum–Roth codes are the syndrome-based decoding method and the interpolation-based decoding method. In this paper, we propose a modified syndrome-based decoding method and a modified interpolation-based decoding method that have lower decoding complexity than the syndrome-based decoding method and the interpolation-based decoding method, respectively. Recently, the construction of Narain CFT from a certain class of quantum error correcting codes has been discovered. In particular, the spectral gap of Narain CFT corresponds to the binary distance of the code, not the genuine Hamming distance. In this paper, we show that the binary distance is identical to the so-called EPC distance of the boolean function uniquely associated with the quantum code. Therefore, seeking Narain CFT with large spectral gap can be addressed by getting a boolean function with high EPC distance. Furthermore, this problem can be undertaken by finding lower Peak-to-Average Power ratio (PAR) with respect to the binary truth table of the boolean function. Though this is neither sufficient nor necessary condition for high EPC distance, we construct some examples of relatively high EPC distances referring to the constructions for lower PAR. We consider binary integer programming problems with the min-max regret objective function under interval objective coefficients. We propose a heuristic framework, the iterated dual substitution (iDS) algorithm, which iteratively invokes a dual substitution heuristic and excludes from the search space any solution already checked in previous iterations. In iDS, we use a best scenario–based lemma to improve performance. We apply iDS to four typical combinatorial optimization problems: the knapsack problem, the multidimensional knapsack problem, the generalized assignment problem, and the set covering problem. For the multidimensional knapsack problem, we compare the iDS approach with two algorithms widely used for problems with the min-max regret criterion: a fixed-scenario approach, and a branch-and-cut approach. The results of computational experiments on a broad set of benchmark instances show that the proposed iDS approach performs best on most tested instances. For the knapsack problem, the generalized assignment problem, and the set covering problem, we compare iDS with state-of-the-art results. The iDS algorithm successfully updates best-known records for a number of benchmark instances. In this paper, we focus on decoding nonbinary low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes in Galois fields of characteristic two via the proximal alternating direction method of multipliers (proximal-ADMM). By exploiting Flanagan/Constant-Weighting embedding techniques and the decomposition technique based on three-variables parity-check equations, two efficient proximal-ADMM decoders for nonbinary LDPC codes are proposed. We show that both of them are theoretically guaranteed convergent to some stationary point of the decoding model and either of their computational complexities in each proximal-ADMM iteration scales linearly with LDPC code’s length and the size of the considered Galois field. Moreover, the decoder based on the Constant-Weight embedding technique satisfies the favorable property of codeword symmetry. In this paper, we propose a novel surface reconstruction method for unoriented points by establishing and solving a nonlinear equation system. By treating normals as unknown parameters and imposing the conditions that the implicit field is constant and its gradients parallel to the normals on the input point cloud, we establish a nonlinear equation system involving the oriented normals. To simplify the system, we transform it into a 0-1 integer programming problem solely focusing on orientation by incorporating inconsistent oriented normal information through PCA. We solve the simplified problem using flipping-based iterative algorithms and propose two novel criteria for flipping based on theoretical analysis. Extensive experiments on renowned datasets demonstrate that our flipping-based method with wavelet surface reconstruction achieves state-of-the-art results in orientation and reconstruction. Furthermore, it exhibits linear computational and storage complexity by leveraging the orthogonality and compact support properties of wavelet bases. Session-based recommendations (SBR) aim to predict the user's next choice of items based on historical data. It is hard to access the interaction information between users and we can only analyze the user's behavioral preferences based on the current session characteristics, which makes the recommendation task in this field quite challenging. Recently, considerable research has grown up around the theme of SBR. Previous works apply attention mechanisms and Graph Neural Networks (GNN) to achieve remarkable results. However, these methods ignore two main points: one is losing sight of the specific position of items in the session; the other is to drive global preference with local preference without considering the offset of the target preference among items in the session. This paper proposes a Global Target Preference Attention Network (GTPAN) Model with position information for the session-based recommendation. We introduce a position-aware embedding module to eliminate the effect of position missing. Considering that each item in the session is potentially rich in latent information of target preference, we use a target preference attention layer to learn the target preference vector of the session. Extensive experiments on three real datasets show that the proposed GTPAN model outperforms state-of-the-art session-based recommendation methods, especially on datasets with long sessions.
