Abstract

The article reports on the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action by the United Nations Security Council's permanent members, the European Union, Germany and Iran in Vienna, Austria on July 14, 2104. Topics discussed include Iran's demand to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes since it signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, Chinese president Xi Jinping's declaration that Iran was a strategic partner and sanctions imposed by European Union on Iran.
