Abstract
It is important to investigate the effect of wind power plants on electric power system operation when the wind power energy proportion is increasing in Lithuania. In this paper, the dependence of frequency and cross-border power interchange deviations on wind power plants' operation in the Lithuanian electric power system is presented; the most suitable load frequency control algorithms and the composition of power plants participating in control are proposed. Abstract
Currently many developed mathematical models of electrical power systems (EPS) are designed for calculation of short transient processes lasting about ten minutes, however, in these models load and frequency control algorithms, load variations and wind farm operation generally aren't fully estimated, and the models that estimate these factors are designed for inaccurate calculations. In the paper, a mathematical model of an electrical power system in which wind power farms operate is presented. It enables to analyse long transient processes while estimating wind power plants operation, load variation and various load and frequency control algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
