This paper analyzes how the journalistic discourse becomes a stage for the discussions between different points of view about the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil when using the voice of science, supported by scientific knowledge, and the voice of the idiot, when combats the former voice. Our corpus consists of five headlines and five leads about the theme, published on the website of the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo between March 20 and 24, 2020. The dialogical relations analysis showed that journalistic discourse comes to be a bivocalization in the scientific discourse, expressing the voice of science diffusely; creates an arena of discussions between the voice of science and the voice of the idiot, bringing anti-science valuations when bivocalizes itself with the Bolsonarist discourse; and discredits the voice of the idiot, standing off from it through the quoted speech, as well as producing the effects of meaning over the Covid-19. The following paper is a summary of a research developed as a masters degree dissertation, which analyzes how two online newspapers from the state of Minas Gerais - Brazil, O Tempo and Estado de Minas create the image of teenage criminal offenders in their news through the lexical choices for the naming of these underage offenders. The research was performed using the semiolinguistics theory of Patrick Charaudeau, through the analysis of three hundred and twenty (320) news articles published by the newspapers in the period from april to september 2015, year in which PEC 171/1993 (law project regarding the lowering of criminal responsibility in Brazil) was discussed. It was observed that the way in which the newspapers build the image of an offender teenager influences the readers to support the reduction of criminal responsibility age. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper approaches the Brazilian cis-straight-military dictatorship (1964-1988) as represented in the homosexual newspaper Lampião da Esquina (Corner Lampion, 1978-1981), reflecting on the representation of sexual policies adopted by the Brazilian dictatorial regime of 1964. The objective is to present the socio-political profile of the literary column published in that newspaper, in order to demonstrate the relevance of researches on newspaper literature in dictatorial governments. First, I contextualize the creation of Lampion, presenting it as a possible rupture of the established canon through its literary column, since it tensioned the "universal" reference regime: cis-straight, urban, bourgeois, Christian, white man. Then, I analyze the particularities of literary texts published in newspapers, aiming to highlight their heterogeneity and analytical-interpretative specificity. After a detailed description of its literary column, I interpret the historicity and the ethical-aesthetic sensitivity that constitute these texts as the LGBT+ resistance to the dictatorial regime, since the relation between dictatorship and "homosexualities", I believe, should be read with a theoretical-conceptual foundation capable of showing the intensification, by the regime, of the symbolic practices of production of bodies in reference to cis-heteronormativity. Using the analytical framework of the socio-economic, political and cultural development, based on the Political Economy of Communication, this paper describes, discusses and identifies tendencies of the Brazilian market besides presenting the efforts that newspaper companies are doing in order to find a new business plan that allows the survival and sustainability of journalism on the print platform. Based on empirical data is also looking to establish connections and analogies which justify what is happening with the Brazilian journalism in the print platform because both popular papers and the free newspapers are growing across the country. "To win the peasantry for the revolution". The Portuguese Communist Party and the process of organization of the Northern peasantry (1974-1975). This study scrutinizes the organization of the Northern peasantry promoted by the Portuguese Communist Party during the Carnation Revolution. Based on the review of the party press and newspapers, this paper suggests a path by which several organizational proposals (comissões camponesas, Movimento Livre de Agricultores, Ligas, movimentos) developed by the party before the permanent blockade opposed to that work, appeared, coexisted, and disappeared. In spite of the fast turns and some hesitation, that trajectory suggests a continuity regarding the underlying objective: the construction of a regional mass front. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There is a prominent subject in contemporary journalism. A growing set of stories deal, under the rubric of "services", with the issue of quality of life, discussing the well-being in current societies. Facing this context, this article aims at refl ecting on this topic through the lenses of magazine journalism. The paper sheds light on the way this type of information simultaneously responds to certain social demands and nurtures them. The discussion addresses historical questions and focuses on the dialogue between social issues and journalistic production, thus disclosing features of the magazine. It conceives of magazines as a specifi c medium of communication, which elaborates, through segmented publications, an editorial construct in consonance with a contemporary model of well-being.
