The aim of this paper is to show the conception of university in the French philosopher Jean François Lyotard. This theoretical construct has its reason for being in itself, but at the same time, allows us to seize the process of change of the knowledge in goods in the context in which the contradiction modernity/post-modernity has its first and predominant pole at the end of the XIX century, is weakening due to the movement of capital, giving, finally, its antithetical to their predominance in the 1950s. The consequences for science and the university are profound: the science becomes a force of capitalist production as the university becomes an institution similar to enterprise capitalist state or not.
