The article is devoted to A.R. Esayan, the founder of the Chair of Informatics at Tula Pedagogical Institute. The paper examines the influence of Professor A.R. Esayan's methodological legacy on the training of modern IT teacher. The article reveals some aspects of his influence on the "Computational methods" course: the development of students' algorithmic culture; the study of CMS capabilities; the use of recursive algorithms in problem solving.
