The article discusses the 48th Annual Rare Books and Manuscripts (RBMS) Preconference held in Baltimore, Maryland from June 19 to June 22, 2007. The topic of the conference was the storage and collection of ephemera. Ephemera includes handbills, broadsides, and circulars. The preconference featured six plenary sessions, 12 short papers, and nine seminars focused on different aspects of ephemera in libraries, museums, and archives. The keynote address was given by Michael Twyman, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading, England. The article also discusses each plenary session from the preconference.
