Accurate prediction of sea level height is critically important for the government in assessing sea level risk in coastal areas. However, due to the nonlinear, time-varying and highly uncertain characteristics of sea level change data, sea level prediction is challenging. To improve the accuracy of sea level prediction, this paper uses a new swarm intelligence algorithm named the sparrow search algorithm (SSA), which can imitate the foraging behavior and antipredation behavior of sparrows, to determine optimal solutions. To avoid the algorithm falling into a local optimal situation, this paper integrates the sine–cosine algorithm and the Cauchy variation strategy into the SSA to obtain an algorithm named the SCSSA. The SCSSA is used to optimize the parameter values of the CNN-BiLSTM (convolutional neural network combined with bidirectional long short-term memory neural network) model; finally, a combined neural network model (named SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM) is proposed. In this paper, the time series data of seven tidal stations located in coastal China are used for experimental analysis. First, the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model is compared with the CNN-BiLSTM model to predict the time series data of SHANWEI Station. With respect to the training and test sets of data, the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model outperforms the other models on all the evaluation metrics. In addition, the remaining six tide station datasets and five neural network models, including the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model, are used to further study the performance of the proposed prediction model. Four evaluation indices including the root mean squared error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and coefficient of determination (R2) are adopted. For six stations, the RMSE, MAE, MAPE and R2 of SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model are ranged from 20.9217 ~ 27.8427 mm, 9.4770 ~ 17.8603 mm, 0.1322% ~ 0.2482% and 0.9119 ~ 0.9759, respectively. The experimental analysis results show that the SCSSA-CNN-BiLSTM model makes effective predictions at all stations, and the prediction performance is better than that of the other models. Even though the combination of SCSSA algorithm may increase the complexity of the model, indeed the proposed model is a new prediction method with good accuracy and robustness for predicting sea level change. Intelligent forecasting of economic indexes has been an important demand for sustainable management of smart cities. Existing methods for this purpose were mostly established upon the basis of economic mechanism. Econometric models are the most general technical means in this area. However, in era of digital economy, increasing amount of big data has brought great change to traditional production. It is becoming more difficult for conventional technological forecasting methods to deal with multi-dimensional economic indexes. To deal with such challenge, this paper introduces the artificial intelligence algorithms to implement automatic information processing, and proposes a deep neural network-based intelligent forecasting method for multi-dimensional economic indexes in smart cities. Specifically, a deep neural network with three-layer structure is developed as the backbone methodology. For empirical analysis, the real-world data from "Chengdu–Chongqing Economic Circle" in China from 2012 to 2022 are selected as the main simulation scenario. Four major indexes are selected as the main research object: gross product (GDP), per capita GDP, GDP growth rate and the proportion of tertiary industry in GDP. The experimental results show that the proposal can well deal with such forecasting problem from a data-driven perspective, with a proper forecasting effect on historical data. Based on the integrated model of Super-SBM model, spatial Durbin model (SDM) and Grey neural network model, this paper analyzes the panel data of various provinces in China from multiple angles and dimensions. It was found that there were significant differences in eco-efficiency between organic rice production and conventional rice production. The response of organic rice to climate change, the spatial distribution of ecological and economic benefits and the impact on carbon emission were analyzed. The results showed that organic rice planting not only had higher economic benefits, but also showed a rising trend of ecological benefits and a positive feedback effect. This finding highlights the importance of organic rice farming in reducing carbon emissions. Organic rice farming effectively reduces greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide and methane, by improving soil management and reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides. This has important implications for mitigating climate change and promoting soil health and biodiversity. With the acceleration of urbanization, the increase of organic rice planting area shows the trend of organic rice gradually replacing traditional rice cultivation, further highlighting the potential of organic agriculture in emission reduction, environmental protection and sustainable agricultural production. To this end, it is recommended that the Government implement a diversified support strategy to encourage technological innovation, provide guidance and training, and raise public awareness and demand for organic products. At the same time, private sector participation is stimulated to support the development of organic rice cultivation through a public-private partnership model. Through these measures, further promote organic rice cultivation, achieve the dual goals of economic benefits and environmental benefits, and effectively promote the realization of double carbon emission reduction targets. Many colleges in China have adopted the policy of recruiting students by academic subject categories in order to optimize the talent training mode. To solve the problems in major selection after enrollment, this paper has designed an intelligent algorithm model for recommending college majors. Compared with existing methods for assigning college majors, the model uses deep neural networks and clustering algorithms to simulate complex calculations in the human brain. It uses historical learning data from senior students or graduates to predict the future grades of freshmen, judge their adaptability to various college majors, reduce human interference in the college major selection process, recommend the most suitable college major to students. In the new normal period, the trend changes and adjustments of the environment such as international trade, production capacity, labor supply and resource constraints have put forward new requirements for China's industrial development, which have brought new challenges and given new opportunities. In the new normal stage where economic growth continues to decline, industrial growth is still an important support for economic growth. The advancement of industrial technology is the main driving force for improving the total factor productivity of the industrial industry. Therefore, the most important thing to promote industrial growth is to upgrade the level of industrial technology. In response to the above-mentioned problems, this paper analyzed the relationship between industrial technology and industrial output in the new normal environment by using the BP neural network (BPNN) algorithm. The connection between the two has been found, which provided a clear direction for the functional adjustment of economic law. Experimental studies have shown that there is a positive relationship between industrial technological progress and industrial output. When other conditions are the same, and when the non-new normal is selected, industrial output increases by about 0.36% for every 1% increase in industrial technological progress. When choosing to be in the new normal, industrial technological progress has a higher impact on industrial output. Most data collected during routine monitoring of railway station buildings are categorized as in good health, with only a small percentage of samples corresponding to a damaged state. Standard deep neural networks (DNNs) process target samples regarded as normal samples. When typical DNNs are confronted with imbalanced samples, namely, samples with a low proportion of abnormal samples (e.g., damaged stage), this can lead to a high rate of misdiagnosis. To solve this problem, this paper suggests a novel damage monitoring model for railway station buildings, called cluster-based undersampling and Siamese artificial neural network. In this model, normal samples are undersampled based on clustering, and the clustering center and damage samples are combined in a training dataset to reduce the imbalanced rate of damage samples. SANN maps the original space to a feature space where imbalanced damage states are easier to distinguish. Based on SANN, a data-pair selection strategy based on a feedback mechanism is designed to sufficiently mine sample characteristics. A loss function that combines similarity calculation and multi-classification cross-entropy is proposed to improve the representation and classification performance of the model. Six popular algorithms are compared through experiments based on the actual monitoring datasets obtained at the Shijiazhuang Railway Station in China. For different imbalance ratios, the proposed model displayed the highest performance in all indicators. The recall rate for certain imbalanced classifications increased by over 30% compared to the baseline method, verifying the effectiveness and superiority of the model in identifying imbalanced damage states. Purpose: It is an indispensable part of airworthiness certification to evaluate the fuel tank flammability exposure time for transport aircraft. There are many factors and complex coupling relationships affecting the fuel tank flammability exposure time. The current work not only lacks a comprehensive analysis of these factors but also lacks the significance of each factor, the interaction relationship and the prediction method of flammability exposure time. The lack of research in these aspects seriously restricts the smooth development of the airworthiness forensics work of domestic large aircraft. This paper aims to clarify the internal relationship between user input parameters and predict the flammability exposure time of fuel tanks for transport aircraft. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the requirements of airworthiness certification for large aircraft, an in-depth analysis of the Monte Carlo flammability evaluation source procedures specified in China Civil Aviation Regulation/FAR25 airworthiness regulations was made, the internal relationship between factors affecting the fuel tank flammability exposure time was clarified and the significant effects and interactions of input parameters in the Monte Carlo evaluation model were studied using the response surface method. And the BP artificial neural network training samples with high significance factors were used to establish the prediction model of flammability exposure time. Findings: The input parameters in the Monte Carlo program directly or indirectly affect the fuel tank flammability exposure time by means of the influence on the flammability limit or fuel temperature. Among the factors affecting flammability exposure time, the cruising Mach number, balance temperature difference and maximum range are the most significant, and they are all positively correlated with flammability exposure time. Although there are interactions among all factors, the degree of influence on flammability exposure time is not the same. The interaction between maximum range and equilibrium temperature difference is more significant than other factors. The prediction model of flammability exposure time based on multifactor interaction and BP neural network has good accuracy and can be applied to the prediction of fuel tank flammability exposure time. Originality/value: The flammability exposure time prediction model was established based on multifactor interaction and BP neural network. The organic pollution of lake water can cause a tremendous threat to the water ecosystem and human health. The COD Mn is one of the crucial indicators of lake water quality and is commonly utilized to gauge the extent of organic pollution in lake water. Therefore, this paper selected COD Mn as the research object and used the water quality monitoring data of Changdang Lake in China and its upstream and downstream to predict the COD Mn concentration in the lake. In order to study the spatial relationship between the lake and upstream and downstream water quality, reflect the joint action of multiple water quality factors in prediction and the interaction between different feature factors. This study combined the XGBoost feature filtering algorithm, maximum mutual information coefficient (MIC), and improved recurrent neural network (GRU) and proposes a hybrid model called XGB-MIC-GRU. The model first used XGBoost to screen and extract the relative importance of water quality characteristics and used the Shapley addition extension (SHAP) method to explain XGBoost feature extraction. Then, the correlation between the lake and the upstream and downstream water quality is calculated through MIC analysis. Finally, the selected water quality factor characteristics and spatial characteristics are input into the GRU model for prediction. The experimental results showed that water temperature, total phosphorus, and total nitrogen are the most important to COD Mn , and the upstream US1 and downstream DS1 and DS2 stations are the most closely related to the concentration of COD Mn in the lake. By comparing the prediction effect of the model in different time steps, the best 16-time steps related data were selected to predict the value of the next time. MAE, RMSE, and R2 of the model are 0.10, 0.13, and 0.96, respectively. The model has better prediction accuracy and correlation error than the traditional SVR and GPR. The proposed mixed model can accurately predict the concentration of COD Mn in the lake. It can assist decision-makers in timely implementation of effective measures to safeguard the lake ecosystem. In recent years, sustainable digital economy development goals have received increasing attention because of the serious influence environment with the development of the rapid economy. Meanwhile, Multiple Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods are efficient ways to measure sustainable developments, which can controls environmental pollution and protects sustainability improvement. However, assessment results are unconvincing by using the common MCDM methods because various areas that caused pollution conditions are inconsistent. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to design an interpretable MCDM method with uncertain weights for various areas evaluation. In particular, MCDM can be used to evaluate environmental sustainability development efficiently, and deep neural networks can supply credible weights to MCDM. Interpretability is used to understand key factors in the decision-making process. Referring to the national policy and urgent areas from central areas in China, six areas are conducted to assess the sustainable digital economy problem, which could be interpreted as demonstrating the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach. Microseismic technology has been widely used in geological hazard monitoring. However, the effective identification and classification of microseismic events in mines have always been a challenge in hazard monitoring. In this paper, a new method combining the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) algorithm and artificial neural network is proposed for the classification and identification of microseismic waveforms. This is the first study to explore such a model in the microseismic monitoring of coal mines. The data for this study were collected from a coal mine in northern China. A total of 2768 microseismic events and 2435 non-microseismic events were manually selected from a large amount of data. Firstly, the microseismic waveform reconstruction was performed using the 4th to 8th Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) obtained by the EMD algorithm. Secondly, the peak factor, clearance factor, impulse factor, kurtosis, skewness, and waveform factor of each reconstructed microseismic waveform were used as features. Subsequently, the convolutional neural network (CNN) was used to classify microseismic events. Among them, data from 3600 microseismic events were used as the training set, and data from 1603 microseismic events were used as the test set. Finally, the original waveform data were used as input and compared with the classification results processed with the EMD algorithm. The classification methods of the BP neural network and Radial Basis Function (RBF) neural network were used for verification. The results of the processed features showed a significant increase in accuracy. The classification accuracy of CNN, BP neural network, and RBF neural network are 97.37%, 91.99%, and 94.23%, respectively. The results show that the utilization of the feature processing technique and CNN algorithm in this study demonstrates superior efficacy in microseismic event classification, which can be used in practice. • The EMD algorithm and ANN was constructed to classify microseismic waveforms. • Six features of the reconstructed waveform were selected as the classification basis. • The EMD algorithm was used to make the six waveform characteristics more significant.
