Abstract
Information about a paper on various mental disorders discussed at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in San Diego, California is presented. It examines how old people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) abide with memory processing. Results of the study show that people with PTSD have lesser capacity to function well mentally because of the malfunctioning of their brain's right frontal cortex.
Information about a paper on the role of natural brain chemical endocannabinoids discussed at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in San Diego, California is presented. Topics include endocannabinoids' function and effect on a person and its association to anxiety disorders and epilepsy. These chemicals regulate many biologic process. If malfunctioned, they will cause neuronal activity to work improperly that may lead to brain disorders.
Information about a paper on various mental disorders discussed at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in San Diego, California is presented. It reveals that changes in the levels of specific immune molecules, which are members of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I family, are sufficient to cause cellular and behavioral symptoms of autism and schizophrenia. MHC class I can be helpful to the health but can also endanger neurons during viral infection.
