This article presents humorous commentaries on news briefs on literary matters in the wider culture in the United Kingdom. Rapper MC Harvey and singer Pete Doherty extol the virtues of reading in somewhat dubious fashions. Paul Streitz, a member of the USA Shakespeare Fellowship, is presenting his "paradigms" about the Bard at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, which include speculating about the many identities of the playwright. The news paper Bookseller attributes new meaning to the word "trial" by using it as a verb.
