Binary code similarity detection plays a crucial role in various applications within binary security, including vulnerability detection, malicious software analysis, etc. However, existing methods suffer from limited differentiation in binary embedding representations across different compilation environments, lacking dynamic high-level semantics. Moreover, current approaches often neglect multi-level semantic feature extraction, thereby failing to acquire precise semantic information about the binary code. To address these limitations, this paper introduces a novel detection solution called BinBcla. This method employs an enhanced pre-training model to generate instruction embeddings with dynamic semantics for binary functions. Subsequently, multi-feature fusion technique is utilized to extract local semantic information and long-distance global features from the code, respectively, employing self-attention to comprehend the structure information of the code. Finally, an improved cosine similarity method is employed to learn relationships among all elements of the distance vectors, thereby enhancing the model's robustness to new sample functions. Experiments are conducted across different architectures, compilers, and optimization levels. With the widespread of multicore systems, automatic parallelization becomes more pronounced, particularly for legacy programs, where the source code is not generally available. An essential operation in any parallelization system is detecting data dependence among parallelization candidate instructions. Conducting dependence analysis at the binary-level is more challenging than that at the source-level due to the much lower semantics of the binary code. In this paper, we consider using the elaborate 'static' analysis of abstract interpretation, for the first time, at runtime for data dependence detection. Specifically, our system interprets instructions at a hot region, while at the same time, collect programs semantics for seen program points, thereby conducting abstract interpretation analysis dynamically. The analysis is guaranteed to be correct as long as execution does not exit the region prematurely. Moreover, successive hot region re-entries will resume previous analysis, albeit much faster in case no major change in the program semantics. Such approach provides for more rigorous analysis than other simple dynamic analysis which would typically miss parallelization opportunities. The proposed approach also does not require any hardware support, availability of the source code, as well as any code re-compilation. To study the performance and accuracy of our approach, we have extended the Padrone dynamic code modification framework, and conduct an initial study on a set of PolyBench kernels and selected programs from SPEC CPU. The olfactory system faces the difficult task of identifying an enormous variety of odors independent of their intensity. Primacy coding, where the odor identity is encoded by the receptor types that respond earliest, might provide a compact and informative representation that can be interpreted efficiently by the brain. In this paper, we analyze the information transmitted by a simple model of primacy coding using numerical simulations and statistical descriptions. We show that the encoded information depends strongly on the number of receptor types included in the primacy representation, but only weakly on the size of the receptor repertoire. The representation is independent of the odor intensity and the transmitted information is useful to perform typical olfactory tasks with close to experimentally measured performance. Interestingly, we find situations in which a smaller receptor repertoire is advantageous for discriminating odors. The model also suggests that overly sensitive receptor types could dominate the entire response and make the whole array useless, which allows us to predict how receptor arrays need to adapt to stay useful during environmental changes. Taken together, we show that primacy coding is more useful than simple binary and normalized coding, essentially because the sparsity of the odor representations is independent of the odor statistics, in contrast to the alternatives. Primacy coding thus provides an efficient odor representation that is independent of the odor intensity and might thus help to identify odors in the olfactory cortex. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
