Death is an inevitable part of life and highly relevant to information management: its approach often requires preparation, and its occurrence often demands a response. Many works in information science have acknowledged so much, and yet death is rarely a focused topic, appearing instead sporadically and disconnected across research. As a result there is no introduction to, overview of, or synthesis across studies on death and information. We therefore conducted an extensive literature search and reviewed nearly 300 scholarly publications at the intersection of death and information (and data) management. Covering seven topics in total, we review two groups of work directly engaging information management in relation to death (digital possessions, inheritance, and legacy; information behavior, needs, and practices around death), three engaging death and technology that require information and its management (death and the Internet, thanatosensitive design and technology‐augmented death practices, and the digital afterlife and digital immortality), and two reflecting the ethical and legal dimensions unique to death and information. We then integrate the collective findings to summarize the landscape of death‐related information research, outline remaining challenges for individuals, families, institutions, and society, and identify promising directions for future information science research. Objectives: Information professionals have supported medical providers, administrators and decision-makers, and guideline creators in the COVID-19 response. Searching COVID-19 literature presented new challenges, including the volume and heterogeneity of literature and the proliferation of new information sources, and exposed existing issues in metadata and publishing. An expert panel developed best practices, including recommendations, elaborations, and examples, for searching during public health emergencies. Methods: Project directors and advisors developed core elements from experience and literature. Experts, identified by affiliation with evidence synthesis groups, COVID-19 search experience, and nomination, responded to an online survey to reach consensus on core elements. Expert participants provided written responses to guiding questions. A synthesis of responses provided the foundation for focus group discussions. A writing group then drafted the best practices into a statement. Experts reviewed the statement prior to dissemination. Results: Twelve information professionals contributed to best practice recommendations on six elements: core resources, search strategies, publication types, transparency and reproducibility, collaboration, and conducting research. Underlying principles across recommendations include timeliness, openness, balance, preparedness, and responsiveness. Conclusions: The authors and experts anticipate the recommendations for searching for evidence during public health emergencies will help information specialists, librarians, evidence synthesis groups, researchers, and decision-makers respond to future public health emergencies, including but not limited to disease outbreaks. The recommendations complement existing guidance by addressing concerns specific to emergency response. The statement is intended as a living document. Background and Objective: It is necessary to study the emerging trends and areas of knowledge and to predict the direction of future research on the concept of health literacy in order to promote community health. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of mapping research knowledge in the field of health literacy and showing the structure of knowledge and their evolution over time. Materials and Methods: This scientometrics research was conducted using Co-word analysis technique includes the steps include: Data retrieval, Data analysis and Mapping and Visualization Papers from the MEDLINE database during (1970-2018) retrieved and analyzed. The bibliographic data analyzed using the visualization of similarities technique by text-mining and visualization techniques of VOS viewer. Results: A total of 7,429 documents, growth of scientific publications related to the field of health literacy has been increased rapidly over the past 10 years and continues to grow in recent years. The stronger studies were mainly conducted at research institutions of higher education in the Canada and United States. Four Core authors groups with a higher influence were identified. The keyword of “communication”, “depression”, “health education”, and “internet” had respectively the highest frequency. The results of cluster analysis identified and categorized them into three major clusters. Health literacy field had a close relationship with the lifestyle dimensions, health information technology, mental health literacy and chronic diseases. Conclusions: Given the interdisciplinary nature of health literacy the areas of education, health, Information Communication Technology (ICT) science, and mental health will help the cooperation of experts in these areas to enrich scientific research and make them more applicable. Automatic Term Extraction (ATE) systems have been studied for many decades as, among other things, one of the most important tools for tasks such as information retrieval, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and others. The interest in this topic has even increased in recent years given the support and improvement of the new neural approaches. In this article, we present a follow-up on the discussions about the pipeline that allows extracting key terms from medical reports, presented at MDTT 2022, and analyze the very last papers about ATE in a systematic review fashion. We analyzed the journal and conference papers published in 2022 (and partially in 2023) about ATE and cluster them into subtopics according to the focus of the papers for a better presentation. In the context of the new era, teachers and students in colleges and universities, as well as the general public, rely more on the Internet and social media to obtain news, express their opinions, and share information, and the dissemination of public opinion events in colleges and universities is not only related to the physical and mental health of teachers and students but also to the reform and development of colleges and universities. In this study, we took campus public opinion events as the main research object in which we selected three recent campus public opinion events to be analyzed. The public opinion data used in the research was collected from Weibo social media platforms. Firstly, we analyzed the dissemination cycle and regional dissemination patterns of a college food safety public opinion hot event through the popularity and regional distribution of public opinion data, thus revealing its formation and evolution patterns. Secondly, the LDA topic mining method is used to mine the themes of the three hot public opinion events, and then analyze the hot factors of the dissemination of each public opinion event from the massive public opinion data. This is crucial for the management department to grasp the dynamics of public opinion. Then, we used the SKEP sentiment classification method to analyze the emotional factors of the public opinion data of the three events to obtain the overall public opinion sentiment situation of the events. Finally, based on the characteristics of time, region, and gender, the evolution and diffusion rules of public topics and emotional distribution under different types of events are analyzed. The precision of the analyses associated with this paper may be limited to the effects of current mainstream as well as state-of-the-art analytical models. The analysis methods and conclusions in this paper provide a scientific theoretical basis and improvement measures for campus public opinion management, which helps to enhance the level of campus public opinion management and safeguard campus stability and public order. The revolution of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Web of Things (WoT) has brought new opportunities and challenges for the information retrieval (IR) field. The exponential number of interconnected physical objects and real-time data acquisition requires new approaches and architectures for IR systems. Research and prototypes can be crucial in designing and developing new systems and refining architectures for IR in the WoT. This paper proposes a unified and holistic approach for IR in the WoT, called IR.WoT. The proposed system contemplates the critical indexing, scoring, and presentation stages applied to some smart cities' use cases and scenarios. Overall, this paper describes the research, architecture, and vision for advancing the field of IR in the WoT and addresses some of the remaining challenges and opportunities in this exciting area. The article also describes the design considerations, cloud implementation, and experimentation based on a simulated collection of synthetic XML documents with technical efficiency measures. The experimentation results show promising outcomes, whereas further studies are required to improve IR.WoT effectiveness, considering the WoT dynamic characteristics and, more importantly, the heterogeneity and divergence of WoT modeling proposals in the IR domain. This paper focused on the point-of-interest (POI) recommendation task. Recently, graph representation learning-based POI recommendation models have gained significant attention due to the powerful modeling capacity of graph structural data. Despite their effectiveness, we have found that recent methods struggle to effectively utilize information from POIs that have not been checked in, which could limit their performance. Hence, in this paper, we proposed a new model, named the multi-contextual graph contrastive learning (MCGCL) model, which introduces the contrastive learning into graph representation learning-based methods. First, MCGCL extracts interactions between POIs under different contextual factors from user check-in records using predefined graph structure information. Next, it samples important POI sets from different contextual factors using a random walk-based method. Then, it introduces a new contrastive learning loss that incorporates contextual information into traditional contrastive learning to enhance its ability to capture contextual information. Finally, MCGCL employs a graph neural network (GNN) model to learn representations of users and POIs. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of MCGCL on the POI recommendation task compared to representative POI recommendation approaches. This paper presents a method for developing a malware ontology structure by detecting malware instances on Twitter. The ontology represents a semi-automatic classifier fed by the data extracted from tweets. In particular, the automatic part of the presented methodology relies on a pattern-based approach to detect trigger expressions leading to new information about malware, whilst the manual one covers the evaluation of the results by domain-experts, who also validate the reliability of the semantic relationships within the ontology framework. We present preliminary results on the application of our methodology to tweets extracted from MalwareBazaar database showing how the documents’ collection analysis, through Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, can support the knowledge retrieval and documents’ classification procedures for building early warning system of detected malware. Scientific papers published in journals or conferences, also considered academic publications, are the manifestation of scientific research achievements. Lots of scientific papers published in digital form bring new challenges for academic evaluation and information retrieval. Therefore, research on the ranking method of scientific papers is significant for the management and evaluation of academic resources. In this paper, we first identify internal and external factors for evaluating scientific papers and propose a publication ranking method based on an analysis of a heterogeneous academic network. We use four types of metadata (i.e., author, venue (journal or conference), topic, and title) as vertexes for creating the network; in there, the topics are trained by the SentenceLDA algorithm with the metadata of the abstract. We then use the Gibbs sampling method to create a heterogeneous academic network and apply the ConNetClus algorithm to calculate the probability value of publication ranking. To evaluate the significance of the method proposed in this paper, we compare the ranking results with BM25, PageRank, etc., and homogeneous networks in MAP and NDCG. This paper analyses the nexus between record-keeping and political advocacy in the late colonial Busoga which formed one of eastern ethno-geographical regions of the Uganda Protectorate. It illustrates the vexed position of the Abataka Abasoga attempting to build and use archival knowledge while the colonial government moved against the indigenous use of archival records as a tool of anti-colonial defiance. By weaving together archival materials with secondary sources, the paper reveals the precarious position of Ugandan archival records as denoted by the subsequent regimes' involvement in the management of documentary materials. Ultimately, the example shows how the ruling regimes' interests have been central in determining the nature of information made available for future preservation and its accessibility for use by both the political elite and reading publics. Methods: GPDMiner is a text mining platform that utilizes advanced information retrieval techniques. It operates by searching PubMed for specific queries, extracting and analyzing information relevant to the biomedical field. This system is designed to discern and illustrate relationships between biomedical entities obtained from automated information extraction. Results: The implementation of GPDMiner demonstrates its efficacy in navigating the extensive corpus of biomedical literature. It efficiently retrieves, extracts, and analyzes information, highlighting significant connections between genes, proteins, and diseases. The platform also allows users to save their analytical outcomes in various formats, including Excel and images. Conclusion: GPDMiner offers a notable additional functionality among the array of text mining tools available for the biomedical field. This tool presents an effective solution for researchers to navigate and extract relevant information from the vast unstructured texts found in biomedical literature, thereby providing distinctive capabilities that set it apart from existing methodologies. Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) is used in every domain, especially in the healthcare system it plays a very important role in our life and made our life easier by providing various facilities in every area. These gathered data are extorted to centralized processing and computational power. Centralization can lead to a single point of failure, data modification, snooping, security, and privacy evasion. Blockchain can resolve such issues by providing decentralized computational power and better storage capacity for IoT data. Therefore, integrating IoT and blockchain technologies can be an intelligent way to implement a decentralized IoT-based smart healthcare system. Background: The emergence of the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022 has garnered substantial attention across diverse disciplines. Despite widespread adoption in various sectors, the exploration of its application in libraries, especially within the medical domain, remains limited. Aims/Objectives: Many areas of interest remain unexplored like ChatGPT in medical libraries and this review aims to synthesise what is currently known about it to identify gaps and stimulate further research. Methods: Employing Cooper's integrative review method, this study involves a comprehensive analysis of existing literature on ChatGPT and its potential implementations within library contexts. Results: A systematic literature search across various databases yielded 166 papers, with 30 excluded for irrelevance. After abstract reviews and methodological assessments, 136 articles were selected. Critical Appraisal Skills Programme qualitative checklist further narrowed down to 29 papers, forming the basis for the present study. The literature analysis reveals diverse applications of ChatGPT in medical libraries, including aiding users in finding relevant medical information, answering queries, providing recommendations and facilitating access to resources. Potential challenges and ethical considerations associated with ChatGPT in this context are also highlighted. Conclusion: Positioned as a review, our study elucidates the applications of ChatGPT in medical libraries and discusses relevant considerations. The integration of ChatGPT into medical library services holds promise for enhancing information retrieval and user experience, benefiting library users and the broader medical community. In the context of academic expert finding, this paper investigates and compares the performance of information retrieval (IR) and machine learning (ML) methods, including deep learning, to approach the problem of identifying academic figures who are experts in different domains when a potential user requests their expertise. IR-based methods construct multifaceted textual profiles for each expert by clustering information from their scientific publications. Several methods fully tailored for this problem are presented in this paper. In contrast, ML-based methods treat expert finding as a classification task, training automatic text classifiers using publications authored by experts. By comparing these approaches, we contribute to a deeper understanding of academic-expert-finding techniques and their applicability in knowledge discovery. These methods are tested with two large datasets from the biomedical field: PMSC-UGR and CORD-19. Spatial similarity provides an important basis for geographic information processing and is widely applied in multi-source data fusion and update, data retrieval and query, and cartographic generalization. To address the shape description and similarity measurement of polygon entities, this study presents a new hierarchical shape description approach and examines its application in similarity measurement of polygon entities. Using the rotation and segmentation methods, we first constructed a hierarchical shape description model for target polygon entities, followed by measurement of global and hierarchical shape description of polygon entities, respectively, using the farthest-point-distance and geometric feature description methods. Finally, we constructed a comprehensive similarity measurement model through a weighted integration of position, size, direction, and shape. The hierarchical shape description approach proposed in this paper can be applied to the shape similarity measurement of polygon elements, similarity measurement after spatial object simplification, and multi-scale polygon entity matching. The experimental results showed that the hierarchical shape description approach and similarity measurement model are able to effectively measure spatial similarity between different polygon entities, and have obtained good application results. A persistent challenge in tasks involving large-scale dynamical systems, such as state estimation and error reduction, revolves around processing the collected measurements. Frequently, these data suffer from the curse of dimensionality, leading to increased computational demands in data processing methodologies. Recent scholarly investigations have underscored the utility of delineating collective states and dynamics via moment-based representations. These representations serve as a form of sufficient statistics for encapsulating collective characteristics, while simultaneously permitting the retrieval of individual data points. In this paper, we reshape the Kalman filter methodology, aiming its application in the moment domain of an ensemble system and developing the basis for moment ensemble noise filtering. The moment system is defined with respect to the normalized Legendre polynomials, and it is shown that its orthogonal basis structure introduces unique benefits for the application of Kalman filter for both i.i.d. and universal Gaussian disturbances. The proposed method thrives from the reduction in problem dimension, which is unbounded within the state-space representation, and can achieve significantly smaller values when converted to the truncated moment-space. Furthermore, the robustness of moment data toward outliers and localized inaccuracies is an additional positive aspect of this approach. The methodology is applied for an ensemble of harmonic oscillators and units following aircraft dynamics, with results showcasing a reduction in both cumulative absolute error and covariance with reduced calculation cost due to the realization of operations within the moment framework conceived. Cosmological simulations serve as invaluable tools for understanding the Universe. However, the technical complexity and substantial computational resources required to generate such simulations often limit their accessibility within the broader research community. Notable exceptions exist, but most are not suited for simultaneously studying the physics of galaxy formation and cosmic reionization during the first billion years of cosmic history. This is especially relevant now that a fleet of advanced observatories (e.g. James Webb Space Telescope, Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope , SPHEREx, ELT, SKA) will soon provide an holistic picture of this defining epoch. To bridge this gap, we publicly release all simulation outputs and post-processing products generated within the thesan simulation project at www.thesan-project.com. This project focuses on the z ≥ 5.5 Universe, combining a radiation-hydrodynamics solver (arepo-rt), a well-tested galaxy formation model (IllustrisTNG) and cosmic dust physics to provide a comprehensive view of the Epoch of Reionization. The thesan suite includes 16 distinct simulations, each varying in volume, resolution, and underlying physical models. This paper outlines the unique features of these new simulations, the production and detailed format of the wide range of derived data products, and the process for data retrieval. Finally, as a case study, we compare our simulation data with a number of recent observations from the James Webb Space Telescope , affirming the accuracy and applicability of thesan. Scoring rules are a popular method for aggregating rankings; they are frequently used in many settings, including social choice, information retrieval and sports. Scoring rules are parametrized by a vector of weights (the scoring vectors), one for each position, and declare as winner the candidate that maximizes the score obtained when summing up the weights corresponding to the position of each voter. It is well known that properly setting the weights is a crucial task, as different candidates can win with different scoring vectors. In this paper, we provide several methods to identify the winner considering all possible weights. We first propose VolumetricTop, a rule that ranks alternatives based on the hyper-polytope representing the set of weights that give the alternative the highest score, and provide a detailed analysis of the rule from the point-of-view of social choice theory. In order to overcome some of its limitations, we then propose two other methods: Volumetric-runoff, a rule that iteratively eliminates the alternative associated with the smallest region until a winner is found, and Volumetric-tournament, where alternatives are matched in pairwise comparisons; we provide several insights about these rules. Stance detection is a crucial task in natural language processing and social computing, focusing on classifying expressed attitudes towards specific targets based on the input text. Conventional methods predominantly view stance detection as a task of target-oriented, sentence-level text classification. On popular social media platforms like Twitter, users often express their opinions through hashtags in addition to textual content within tweets. However, current methods primarily treat hashtags as data retrieval labels, neglecting to effectively utilize the semantic information they carry. In this paper, we propose a large language model knowledge-enhanced stance detection framework (LKESD) for stance detection. LKESD contains three main components: an instruction-prompted background knowledge acquisition module (IPBKA) that retrieves background knowledge of hashtags by providing handcrafted prompts to large language models (LLMs); a graph convolutional feature-enhancement module (GCFEM) is designed to extract the semantic representations of words that frequently co-occur with hashtags in the dataset by leveraging textual associations; an a knowledge fusion network (KFN) is proposed to selectively integrate graph representations and LLM features using a prompt-tuning framework. Extensive experimental results on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that our LKESD method outperforms 2.7% on all setups over compared methods, validating its effectiveness in stance detection tasks. For the autonomous and intelligent operation of robots in unknown environments, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is essential. Since the proposal of visual odometry, the use of visual odometry in the mapping process has greatly advanced the development of pure visual SLAM techniques. However, the main challenges in current monocular odometry algorithms are the poor generalization of traditional methods and the low interpretability of deep learning-based methods. This paper presented a hybrid self-supervised visual monocular odometry framework that combined geometric principles and multi-frame temporal information. Moreover, a post-odometry optimization module was proposed. By using image synthesis techniques to insert synthetic views between the two frames undergoing pose estimation, more accurate inter-frame pose estimation was achieved. Compared to other public monocular algorithms, the proposed approach showed reduced average errors in various scene sequences, with a translation error of 2.211 % and a rotation error of 0.418 ∘ / 100 m. With the help of the proposed optimizer, the precision of the odometry algorithm was further improved, with a relative decrease of approximately 10 % intranslation error and 15 % in rotation error. Public clouds favor sharing of storage resources, in which many tenants acquire bandwidth and storage capacity from a shared storage pool. To provide high availability, data are often encoded to provide fault tolerance with low storage costs. Regarding this, efficiently organizing an encoded storage system for shared I/Os is critical for application performance. This is usually hard to achieve as different applications have different stripe configurations and fault tolerance levels. In this paper, we first study the block trace from the Alibaba cloud, and find that I/O patterns of modern applications prefer the resource sharing scheme. Based on this, we propose a globally shared resource paradigm for encoded storage system in the public cloud. The globally shared resource paradigm can provide balanced load and fault tolerance for numerous disk pool sizes and arbitrary application stripe configurations. Furthermore, we demonstrate with two case studies that our theory can help address the device-specific problems of HDD and SSD RAID arrays with slight modifications: comparing the existing resource partition and resource sharing methods, our theory can promote the rebuild speed of the HDD RAID arrays by 2.5 ×, and reduce the P99 tail latency of the SSD arrays by up to two orders of magnitude. The appearance and wide use of memory hardware bring significant changes to the conventional vertical memory hierarchy that fails to handle contentions for shared hardware resources and expensive data movements. To deal with these problems, existing schemes have to rely on inefficient scheduling strategies that also cause extra temporal, spatial and bandwidth overheads. Based on the insights that the shared hardware resources trend to be uniformly and hierarchically offered to the requests for co-located applications in memory systems, we present an efficient abstraction of memory hierarchies, called Label, which is used to establish the connection between the application layer and underlying hardware layer. Based on labels, our paper proposes LaMem, a labeled, resource-isolated and cross-tiered memory system by leveraging the way-based partitioning technique for shared resources to guarantee QoS demands of applications, while supporting fast and low-overhead cache repartitioning technique. Besides, we customize LaMem for the learned index that fundamentally replaces storage structures with computation models as a case study to verify the applicability of LaMem. There are two mainstream strategies for image-text matching at present. The one, termed as joint embedding learning, aims to model the semantic information of both image and sentence in a shared feature subspace, which facilitates the measurement of semantic similarity but only focuses on global alignment relationship. To explore the local semantic relationship more fully, the other one, termed as metric learning, aims to learn a complex similarity function to directly output score of each image-text pair. However, it significantly suffers from more computation burden at retrieval stage. In this paper, we propose a hierarchically joint embedding model to incorporate the local semantic relationship into a joint embedding learning framework. The proposed method learns the shared local and global embedding spaces simultaneously, and models the joint local embedding space with respect to specific local similarity labels which are easy to access from the lexical information of corpus. Unlike the methods based on metric learning, we can prepare the fixed representations of both images and sentences by concatenating the normalized local and global representations, which makes it feasible to perform the efficient retrieval. And experiments show that the proposed model can achieve competitive performance when compared to the existing joint embedding learning models on two publicly available datasets Flickr30k and MS-COCO. Similarity of point patterns is critical to geographic information retrieval. Many methods depend on measuring the similarity between point patterns within the spatial database. However, previous researches mainly focus on point density which is only one aspect of point patterns. A point distribution can be complex by its numerous alignments of point groups, which usually imply different geographical meanings in reality. In this paper, we propose a new method that uses image analysis techniques to comprehensively consider the characteristics of a point pattern. Specifically, given a set of point datasets falling in the same region, our method first generates the point intensity surfaces to transform the original vector space to raster space; then, the method constructs a matrix to describe all the pattern-related information. Finally, the point pattern similarity is calculated by decomposing this matrix into the lower-order representation and the factorized basis features. Due to the use of matrix decomposition, the proposed method has the merits that it can eliminate noises from the original data and assess the similarity of two patterns with emphasis on their major features. As one of the classic tasks in information retrieval, the core of image retrieval is to identify the images sharing similar features with a query image, aiming to enable users to find the required information from a large number of images conveniently. Street view image retrieval, in particular, finds extensive applications in many fields, such as improvements to navigation and mapping services, formulation of urban development planning scheme, and analysis of historical evolution of buildings. However, the intricate foreground and background details in street view images, coupled with a lack of attribute annotations, render it among the most challenging issues in practical applications. Current image retrieval research mainly uses the visual model that is completely dependent on the image visual features, and the multimodal learning model that necessitates additional data sources (e.g., annotated text). Yet, creating annotated datasets is expensive, and street view images, which contain a large amount of scene texts themselves, are often unannotated. Therefore, this paper proposes a deep unsupervised learning algorithm that combines visual and text features from image data for improving the accuracy of street view image retrieval. Specifically, we employ text detection algorithms to identify scene text, utilize the Pyramidal Histogram of Characters encoding predictor model to extract text information from images, deploy deep convolutional neural networks for visual feature extraction, and incorporate a contrastive learning module for image retrieval. Upon testing across three street view image datasets, the results demonstrate that our model holds certain advantages over the state‐of‐the‐art multimodal models pre‐trained on extensive datasets, characterized by fewer parameters and lower floating point operations. Feedback can be powerful, but its effects are dependent on what students do. There has been intensive research in recent years under the banner of 'feedback literacy' to understand how to help students make the most of feedback. Although there are instruments to measure feedback literacy, they largely measure perceptions and orientations rather than what learners actually do. This paper documents the development and validation of the Feedback Literacy Behaviour Scale (FLBS), which is a self-report instrument intended to measure students' feedback behaviours. A framework for feedback literacy was constructed with five factors: Seek Feedback information (SF), Make Sense of information (MS), Use Feedback information (UF), Provide Feedback information (PF), and Manage Affect (MA). An initial set of 45 questions were reviewed in an iterative process by feedback experts, resulting in 39 questions that were trialled with 350 student participants from four countries. Our final survey of 24 questions was generally supported by confirmatory factor and Rasch analyses, and has acceptable test-retest reliability. The extraction of effective classification features from high-dimensional hyperspectral images, impeded by the scarcity of labeled samples and uneven sample distribution, represents a formidable challenge within hyperspectral image classification. Traditional few-shot learning methods confront the dual dilemma of limited annotated samples and the necessity for deeper, more effective features from complex hyperspectral data, often resulting in suboptimal outcomes. The prohibitive cost of sample annotation further exacerbates the challenge, making it difficult to rely on a scant number of annotated samples for effective feature extraction. Prevailing high-accuracy algorithms require abundant annotated samples and falter in deriving deep, discriminative features from limited data, compromising classification performance for complex substances. This paper advocates for an integration of advanced spectral–spatial feature extraction with meta-transfer learning to address the classification of hyperspectral signals amidst insufficient labeled samples. Initially trained on a source domain dataset with ample labels, the model undergoes transference to a target domain with minimal samples, utilizing dense connection blocks and tree-dimensional convolutional residual connections to enhance feature extraction and maximize spatial and spectral information retrieval. This approach, validated on three diverse hyperspectral datasets—IP, UP, and Salinas—significantly surpasses existing classification algorithms and small-sample techniques in accuracy, demonstrating its applicability to high-dimensional signal classification under label constraints. This paper studies binary reverse multi-delimiter (RMD) data compression codes. RMD codes have a range of useful properties, such as unique decodability, completeness, universality, synchronizability, recognition using a finite automaton, and the ability for rapid data retrieval within an encoded file. The authors have constructed a simple monotonic mapping from the set of non-negative integers to the codeword set. Based on this mapping, they have developed a fast byte-aligned decoding algorithm. Computer experiments demonstrate that we can decode RMD codes nearly as quickly as the SCDC code and several times faster than the Fibonacci code. Compared to known codes of a similar type, RMD codes exhibit a better compression ratio for natural language texts (more than four times closer to the entropy bound than SCDC). Additionally, the paper describes a technology for preprocessing natural language texts, which, combined with encoding using RMD codes, enhances the efficiency of powerful modern archivers. With the rapid development of remote sensing technology, remote sensing products have found increasingly widespread applications across various fields. Nevertheless, as the volume of remote sensing image data continues to grow, traditional data retrieval techniques have encountered several challenges such as substantial query results, data overlap, and variations in data quality. Users need to manually browse and filter a large number of remote sensing datasets, which is a cumbersome and inefficient process. In order to cope with these problems of traditional remote sensing image retrieval methods, this paper proposes a remote sensing image retrieval algorithm for dense data (DD-RSIRA). The algorithm establishes evaluation metrics based on factors like imaging time, cloud coverage, and image coverage. The algorithm utilizes the global grids to create an ensemble coverage relation between images and grids. A locally optimal initial solution is obtained by a greedy algorithm, and then a local search is performed to search for the optimal solution by combining the strategies of weighted gain-loss scheme and novel mechanism. Ultimately, it achieves an optimal coverage of remote sensing images within the region of interest. In this paper, it is shown that the method obtains a smaller number of datasets with lower redundancy and higher data utilization and ensures the data quality to a certain extent in order to accurately meet the requirements of the regional coverage of remote sensing images. We present in this paper a public data release of an unprecedentedly large set of core-collapse supernova (CCSN) neutrino emission models, comprising 100 detailed 2D axisymmetric radiation-hydrodynamic simulations evolved out to as late as ∼5 s post-bounce and spanning an extensive range of massive-star progenitors. The motivation for this paper is to provide a physically and numerically uniform benchmark data set to the broader neutrino detection community to help it characterize and optimize subsurface facilities for what is likely to be a once-in-a-lifetime galactic supernova burst event. With this release, we hope to (1) help the international experiment and modelling communities more efficiently optimize the retrieval of physical information about the next galactic CCSN, (2) facilitate the better understanding of core-collapse theory and modelling among interested experimentalists, and (3) help further integrate the broader supernova neutrino community. Background: Chloroquine (CQ) is an antimalarial drug that was first synthesized by Hans Andersag, a German scientist, in 1934. Chloroquine has been widely researched and used over the years. The rapid development in the fields of modern science and technology has also contributed to the increase in interest in chloroquine. Hence, it is necessary to comprehensively summarize the research trends to understand the breakthroughs made in the field. Methods: The required data was compiled by analyzing the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. The search period for studying global research trends in chloroquine research was set from 2012 to 2021 to ensure a comprehensive analysis over an extended timeframe. Data retrieval was performed on April 4, 2022, focusing on articles and reviews published in English. The retrieval words were: (TS = (chloroquine)) OR (TS = (aralen)). A total of 1,091 reviews and 7,259 articles were retrieved and analyzed. The data obtained from WoSCC was captured and analyzed using VOS viewer (version 1.6.16) and Citesspace (version 5.8.R5). Results: The number of literature reports on chloroquine published in the past 10 years has shown an annual increase. Among the countries, the United States has contributed the highest number of papers and ranks first in terms of both H-index and citation count. The League of European Research Universities is one of the largest research-focused university networks, and Malaria Journal stands out as a prominent journal publishing articles relevant to the field of study. A paper authored by Gautret and Philippe in 2020 achieved the highest citation score globally. The biosynthesis of chloroquine, mechanisms of drug resistance, and drug combinations are receiving growing attention. Conclusion: The research area of chloroquine has been significantly influenced by the American and China. The progress of chloroquine research is further propelled by fruitful collaborations among various countries. Researchers have extensively studied the anti-malarial effect, drug resistance mechanism, and autophagy of chloroquine for the development of a treatment method for COVID-19 based on chloroquine. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate how the enrichment of medical documents' index terms by their comments improves the relevance and novelty of the top-ranked results retrieved by an NLP system. Design/methodology/approach: A semi-experimental pre-test and post-test research was designed to compare NLP-based indexes before and after being expanded by the comment terms. The experiments were conducted on a test collection of 13,957 documents commented by F1000-Prime reviewers. They were indexed at title, abstract, body and full-text levels. In total, 100 seed documents were randomly selected and served as queries. The textual similarity of the documents and queries was calculated using Lucene-more-like-this function and evaluated by the semantic similarity of their MeSH. The results novelty was measured using maximal marginal relevance and evaluated by their MeSH novelties. Normalized discounted cumulative gain was used to compare the basic and expanded indexes' precisions at 10, 20 and 50 top ranks. Findings: The relevance and novelty of the results ranked at the top precision points was improved after expanding the indexes by the comment terms. The finding implies that meta-texts are effective in representing their mother documents, by adding dynamic elements to their rather static contents. It also provides further evidence about the merits of the application of social intelligence and collective wisdom reflected in the actions and reactions of users in tackling the challenges faced by NLP-based systems. The Earth Cloud, Aerosol and Radiation Explorer mission (EarthCARE) is a multi-instrument cloud–aerosol–radiation process study mission embarking a high spectral resolution lidar, a cloud profiling radar, a multi-spectral imager, and a three-view broadband radiometer. An important aspect of the EarthCARE mission is its focus on instrument synergy. Many L2 products are the result of L1 inputs from one or more instruments. Since no existing complete observational proxy data sets comprised of co-located and co-temporal "EarthCARE-like" data exists, it has been necessary to create synthetic data sets for the testing and development of various retrieval algorithms and the data processing chain. Given the synergistic nature of the processing chain, it is important that the test data are physically consistent across the various instruments. Within the EarthCARE project, a version of the EarthCARE simulator multi-instrument framework (ECSIM) has been used to create unified realistic test data frames. These simulations have been driven using high-resolution atmospheric model data (described in a companion paper). In this paper, the methods used to create the test data scenes are described.
