This paper refutes the common objection against pantheistic models of divinity that they are valueless or bereft of ethics due to the ambiguous model of God they espouse, arguing instead that pantheism can be construed as an inherently ethical model of divinity. It addresses common assumptions about omnibenevolent deities and the values they do or do not inspire. It then discusses the values that are arguably both immanent and inherent in nature itself. Hegemonic practices of memorialization rely on narratives of heroic, morally untainted resistance, which cast traitors as the aberrant "other." This paper draws on Simone de Beauvoir's The Ethics of Ambiguity and historical and sociological accounts of betrayal to trouble this binary and construct a framework for memorializing betrayal in its ambiguity—in relation to the everyday reality of tragic dilemmas that resisters face. I show how attentiveness to the ambiguity of betrayal can help rethink heroic resistance myths beyond the exclusionary logic pitting moral purity against the depravity of treason—and warn against the reproduction of systematic practices of othering in the new political order. Currently, network real-time kinematic (NRTK) technology is one of the primary approaches used to achieve real-time dynamic high-precision positioning, and virtual reference station (VRS) technology, with its high accuracy and compatibility, has become the most important type of network RTK solution. The key to its successful implementation lies in correctly fixing integer ambiguities and extracting spatially correlated errors. This paper first introduces real-time data processing flow on the VRS server side. Subsequently, an improved ionosphere-weighted VRS approach is proposed based on single-differenced observations of GPS, GAL, and BDS. With the prerequisite of ensuring estimable integer properties of ambiguities, it directly estimates the single-differenced ionospheric delay and tropospheric delay between reference stations, reducing the double-differenced (DD) observation noise introduced by conventional models and accelerating the system initialization speed. Based on this, we provide an equation for generating virtual observations directly based on single-differenced atmospheric corrections without specifying the pivot satellite. This further simplifies the calculation process and enhances the efficiency of the solution. Using Australian CORS data for testing and analysis, and employing the approach proposed in this paper, the average initialization time on the server side was 40 epochs, and the average number of available satellites reached 23 (with an elevation greater than 20°). Two positioning modes, 'Continuous' (CONT) and 'Instantaneous' (INST), were employed to evaluate VRS user positioning accuracy, and the distance covered between the user and the master station was between 20 and 50 km. In CONT mode, the average positioning errors in the E/N/U directions were 0.67/0.82/1.98 cm, respectively, with an average success fixed rate of 98.76% (errors in all three directions were within 10 cm). In INST mode, the average positioning errors in the E/N/U directions were 1.29/1.29/2.13 cm, respectively, with an average success fixed rate of 89.56%. The experiments in this study demonstrate that the proposed approach facilitates efficient ambiguity resolution (AR) and atmospheric parameter extraction on the server side, thus enabling users to achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy instantly. Blockchain-based applications are becoming more and more widespread in business operations. In view of the shortcomings of existing enterprise blockchain evaluation methods, this paper proposes a multi-source heterogeneous blockchain data quality evaluation model for enterprise business activities, so as to achieve efficient evaluation of business activity information consistency, credibility and value. This paper proposes a multi-source heterogeneous blockchain data quality assessment method for enterprise business activities, aiming at the problems that most of the data in enterprise business activities come from different data sources, information representation is inconsistent, information ambiguity between the same block chain is serious, and it is difficult to evaluate the consistency, credibility and value of information. The method firstly proposes an entity information representation method based on the Representation learning for fusing entity category information (CEKGRL) model, which introduces the triad structure of related entities in blockchain, then associates them with enterprise business activity categories, and carries out similarity calculation through contextual information to achieve blockchain information consistency assessment. After that, a trustworthiness characterization method is proposed based on information sources, information comments, and information contents, to obtain the trustworthiness assessment of the business. Finally, based on the information trustworthiness characterization, a value assessment method is introduced to assess the total value of business activity information in the blockchain, and a blockchain quality assessment model is constructed. The experimental results show that the proposed model has great advantages over existing methods in assessing inter-block consistency, intra-block activity information trustworthiness and the value of blockchain. This paper is part of a special section devoted to an interdisciplinary exploration of vulnerability, assessing the theoretical elaborations of the concept, its uses, its political significance, and methodological issues in studying it. By foregrounding feminist and phenomenological philosophical methods that center on lived experience, the paper elaborates a multidimensional theoretical framework for understanding vulnerability as a complex experience and concept. It advances a pluralist understanding of vulnerability, seeking to connect dimensions of the concept that may be fragmented and focusing on its relational nature. Such a non-dualist approach entails that the political and ethical conclusions that can be drawn about vulnerability are complex and thus require critical analysis, especially of how vulnerability becomes a matter of political rhetoric, rather than straightforward prescription. Finally, in light of its complexity and ambiguity, adequate and socially just theorizing about and application of the concept of vulnerability requires more thoroughgoing interdisciplinary collaboration. The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) can be utilized for long-distance and high-precision time transmission. With the ongoing development of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and the rapidly changing geometric relationships between them, the convergence rate of ambiguity parameters in Precise Point Positioning (PPP) algorithms has increased, enabling fast and reliable time transfer. In this paper, GPS is used as an experimental case, the LEO satellite constellation is designed, and simulated LEO observation data are generated. Then, using the GPS observation data provided by IGS, a LEO-enhanced PPP model is established. The LEO-augmented PPP model is employed to facilitate faster and more reliable high-precision time transfer. The application of the LEO-augmented PPP model to time transfer is examined and discussed through experimental examples. These examples show multiple types of time transfer links, and the experimental outcomes are uniform. GPS + LEO is compared with exclusive GPS time transfer schemes. The clock offset of the time transfer link for the GPS + LEO scheme converges more swiftly, meaning that the time required for the clock offset to reach a stable level is the briefest. In this paper, standard deviation is employed to assess stability, and Allan deviation is utilized to assess frequency stability. The results show that the clock offset stability and frequency stability achieved by the GPS + LEO scheme are superior within the convergence time range. Controlled experiments with different numbers of satellites for LEO enhancement indicate that time transfer performance can be improved by increasing the number of satellites. As a result, augmenting GPS tracking data with LEO observations enhances the time transfer service compared to GPS alone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractThe present paper is the last of a series of three papers, constituting a whole project of translation and commentary composed of translated extracts from the “Catalogo no. 2 – Le madri di tutte noi”, published by the Milan Women’s Bookstore in 1982. The idea for the project was conceived by Silvia Niccolai and Angela Condello, who selected the extracts and provided the written commentaries on the original texts. The Yellow Catalogue, in which we find collective discussions, pages of personal diaries and, overall, the enterprise of a group of women debating over their literary symbolic mothers (who to read? And why?), is an interesting example of a political use of literature. After four decades from its publication, it still proposes inspiring and fresh suggestions for feminist political action and critique, while representing an interesting occasion for researching the philosophical roots of feminism. In particular, the debate on the literary “mothers,” i.e. on the female authors that can contribute to the formation of a feminine symbolic, shows the kind of concerns of difference feminism in Italy (especially during the Seventies). The text offers, in other words, the opportunity to enter a world that nowadays – with the new, varied streams of feminism and the battles over the neutralization of sexual identity – is less frequent, and nevertheless we find it important in order to understand the social, political and cultural power of feminism. The project is composed like follows: Paper No. 1, In search of a feminine symbolic, by Angela Condello, already published on Law& Literature and Paper No. 2, From Novels to the Figures, themes and strategies for a political practice. Quantum information mobilizes the description of quantum systems, their states, and their behavior. Since a measurement postulate introduced by von Neumann in 1932, if a quantum system has been prepared in two different mixed states represented by the same density operator ρ , these preparations are said to have led to the same mixture. For more than 50 years, there has been a lack of consensus about this postulate. In a 2011 article, considering variances of spin components, Fratini and Hayrapetyan tried to show that this postulate is unjustified. The aim of the present paper is to discuss major points in this 2011 article and in their reply to a 2012 paper by Bodor and Diosi claiming that their analysis was irrelevant. Facing some ambiguities or inconsistencies in the 2011 paper and in the reply, we first try to guess their aim, establish results useful in this context, and finally discuss the use or misuse of several concepts implied in this debate. Many regions or countries seek to transition to a low-carbon economy, but there is ambiguity about how carbon emissions change with economic growth. This paper captures characteristics of carbon emissions in China using the Tapio Method. To detect driving factors of carbon emissions in economic growth, we adopt the Log-Mean Divisia Index decomposition method. The results of the paper are as follows: (1) Economic growth in most regions of China has outpaced the growth rate of carbon emissions, showing the characteristics of decoupling. (2) Metropolitan cities have a greater impact on the level of decoupling in neighboring provinces and municipalities. (3) The decoupling of carbon emissions from economic growth is caused by declining energy intensity in China. (4) The energy mix and industrial structure have little impact on the growth rate of carbon emissions. In addition, some policy implications are summarized according to the findings of this paper. Purpose: Social inclusion of people living with serious mental illness is widely promoted. However, only limited consideration has been given to the meanings of social inclusion within different settings and the ways in which it is envisioned, negotiated, and practised. In this paper, we explore meanings and practises of social inclusion from the perspectives of people living with serious mental illness and their families in Ghana and Palestine and how this is shaped by differing political and socio-cultural contexts. Methods: This paper draws on comparative ethnographic research including participant observation and interviews with people living with mental illness and family members in Ghana and the occupied Palestinian territory. Data were triangulated and analysed using thematic analysis. Results: Participants described experiences of social inclusion and participation within communities, home and family life, friendships and social life, and work and livelihoods. This revealed how such experiences were variously shaped by differing political contexts and socio-cultural norms and expectations within the two settings. These in turn intersected with aspects such as gender roles, age, and socio-economic status. Aspirations for inclusion included greater awareness and understanding within society, accompanied by opportunities and support for meaningful inclusion at the political as well as community level. Conclusion: Findings point to the value of a contextual understanding of social inclusion, taking account of the impact of the wider socio-cultural, political, and economic environment. They also point to the need for an intersectoral approach, beyond communities and mental health services, to provide meaningful opportunities and support for social inclusion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to compare 19th-century Latin American novels about piracy with 20th-century novels about drug trafficking in order to demonstrate that organized crime creates its own sovereignty juxtaposed with state sovereignty and that both pirates and drug traffickers are constantly renegotiating their relationship with the state. The literary corpus from the 19th century includes El filibustero (1864), by Mexican writer Eligio Ancona, and Los piratas en Cartagena (1886), by Colombian writer Soledad Acosta de Samper; from the 20th century, Contrabando (1991), by Mexican writer Víctor Hugo Rascón Banda, and La Virgen de los Sicarios (1994), by Colombian writer Fernando Vallejo. This paper is divided into two sections; the first section deals with the relationship between pirates and drug traffickers and the State. It discusses the attitudes of the writers towards the State and the implications of the State actors in the illegal business. The second section discusses the existence of juxtaposed sovereignties represented through the creation of the social imaginary of piracy and drug trafficking. Drawing on historical and political resources on piracy and drug trafficking, this paper aims to create an interdisciplinary environment to discuss organized crime in literature and its political influence on society. This paper defends the claim that if a person P exists, there can be true positive comparisons between P's existence and P's never having existed at all in terms of what is better or worse for P. If correct, this view will have significant implications for various fundamental issues in population ethics. I try to show how arguments to the contrary fail to take note of a general ambiguity in comparisons when compared alternatives contain their own different standards (or, in the case of non‐existence, a lack thereof) on which to base these comparisons. After having answered arguments against the possibility of making positive comparisons, the paper develops a positive account of how to make existence/non‐existence comparisons in terms of personal value whilst accepting that a person's non‐existence fails to make any contact with the relevant categories of personal value. The guiding idea is the following: When some item satisfies some relevant standard, we can, I argue, infer that it satisfies this standard better than something that fails to satisfy this standard (be this failure due to empirical or conceptual reasons). The issue positions of political actors are often ambiguous, resulting in uncertainty on the part of voters. Such ambiguity constitutes a challenge to representation, as it prevents voters from getting a clear understanding of parties' positions. Ironically, despite growing interest in the concept, the concept itself is remarkably ambiguous: different studies use different conceptualisations of ambiguity, which hampers theory integration. This paper proposes a three-dimensional conceptualization of ambiguity: party positions are ambiguous to the extent that parties deemphasize them, remain vague or are inconsistent on them. A review of 103 studies establishes the prevalence of these three dimensions in the literature, shows that most studies focus on a single dimension, and reveals lacunae in the current research on ambiguity. Based on the three-dimensional conceptualisation, the paper then develops a preliminary framework on the causes of ambiguity, outlines key gaps in the literature and suggests promising avenues of theory development. Some of the extreme space weather events like the geomagnetic storm of 17–18 March 2015 have produced dramatic effects on low-latitude ionosphere as reported in various studies. Similarly, some of the extreme storms are studied to emphasize the anomalous deviations in ionospheric delay; however, the effects of excess ionospheric delay on GPS-based positioning are rarely reported from India. This paper presents a robust analysis including estimation of GPS receiver position during 6 major geomagnetic storms using dual frequency GPS signals in L1 and L2 bands. Epoch-wise solution estimates are computed using precise orbit SP3 files for satellite orbit and clock corrections and receiver specific differential code biases are obtained from IGS-CODE center. A range domain Kalman filter has also been developed to smooth the 30 s sampled code pseudorange using carrier phase data and resolve the initial ambiguity. Then, the precise positioning residuals are estimated in two different cases of ionospheric corrected and ionospheric uncorrected error models. We then compare the results with ionospheric corrected position estimates to finally obtain the effect of excess daytime ionospheric variations during main phase of some extreme geomagnetic storms. Results from 5 GPS receivers located within 77°–80° E longitude sector are obtained for two 2-hour windows covering local noon during 6 storms including the St. Patrick's Day storm. The effect of severity of the storms and their impact on static precise positioning are brought out by comparing the results with performance on a quiet day. It is found that the magnitude of error in estimated altitude exhibits maximum deviations due to ionospheric variations during storms, and the dip latitude of station is important in terms of magnitude of ionospheric error in positioning over the equatorial ionization anomaly region. Seafloor geodetic observation technology is a pivotal method for capturing plate boundary earthquakes and related phenomena. Currently, this task is performed by Global Navigation Satellite System-Acoustic ranging (GNSS-A), a technique that integrates GNSS observations with acoustic ranging. This method involves measuring the round-trip travel time of an acoustic signal between a surface platform and a preinstalled seafloor station, which is then converted into a distance for positioning. While the horizontal positioning accuracy can reach the centimeter level, the vertical accuracy tends to be loser. Recent research has revealed that equipment-dependent distortion of sound waves causes problems for accurate travel time identification, leading to a decrease in vertical component accuracy. In this paper, we conducted an analysis of distortion tendencies using water tank test data and quantitatively identified differences in distortion magnitude related to instruments, angle dependence, and directional dependence attributed to the sea surface platform. We proposed a new identification algorithm, Acoustic Ambiguity Reduction (AAR) method, using a catalog of distortions for each device, and improved the observational capabilities of the vertical component. Requirements form the basis for defining software systems' obligations and tasks. Testable requirements help prevent failures, reduce maintenance costs, and make it easier to perform acceptance tests. However, despite the importance of measuring and quantifying requirements testability, no automatic approach for measuring requirements testability has been proposed based on the requirements smells, which are at odds with the requirements testability. This paper presents a mathematical model to evaluate and rank the natural language requirements testability based on an extensive set of nine requirements smells, detected automatically, and acceptance test efforts determined by requirement length and its application domain. Most of the smells stem from uncountable adjectives, context-sensitive, and ambiguous words. A comprehensive dictionary is required to detect such words. We offer a neural word embedding technique to generate such a dictionary automatically. Using the dictionary, we could automatically detect Polysemy smell (domain-specific ambiguity) for the first time in 10 application domains. Our empirical study on nearly 1000 software requirements from six well-known industrial and academic projects demonstrates that the proposed smell detection approach outperforms Smella, a state-of-the-art tool, in detecting requirements smells. The Precision and Recall of smell detection are improved with an average of 0.03 and 0.33, respectively, compared to the state-of-the-art. The proposed requirement testability model measures the testability of 985 requirements with a mean absolute error of 0.12 and a mean squared error of 0.03, demonstrating the model's potential for practical use. Dynamical system models typically involve numerous input parameters whose "effects" and orthogonality need to be quantified through sensitivity analysis, to identify inputs contributing the greatest uncertainty. Whilst prior art has compared total-order estimators' role in recovering "true" effects, assessing their ability to recover robust parameter orthogonality for use in identifiability metrics has not been investigated. In this paper, we perform: (i) an assessment using a different class of numerical models representing the cardiovascular system, (ii) a wider evaluation of sampling methodologies and their interactions with estimators, (iii) an investigation of the consequences of permuting estimators and sampling methodologies on input parameter orthogonality, (iv) a study of sample convergence through resampling, and (v) an assessment of whether positive outcomes are sustained when model input dimensionality increases. Our results indicate that Jansen or Janon estimators display efficient convergence with minimum uncertainty when coupled with Sobol and the lattice rule sampling methods, making them prime choices for calculating parameter orthogonality and influence. This study reveals that global sensitivity analysis is convergence driven. Unconverged indices are subject to error and therefore the true influence or orthogonality of the input parameters are not recovered. This investigation importantly clarifies the interactions of the estimator and the sampling methodology by reducing the associated ambiguities, defining novel practices for modelling in the life sciences. Author summary: In order to gain new insight into a biological system, one often uses mathematical models to predict possible responses from the system. One vital step when using such models is to gain knowledge of the uncertainty associated with the model responses, for any input changes. Utilising two non-linear and stiff cardiovascular models as test cases, we investigate the effects of different choices made when quantifying the uncertainty of mathematical models. Leveraging efficient solving of the mathematical model, we show that in order to truly quantify the effects of inputs on a set of outputs, one must ensure converged estimates of the inputs' influence. Our detailed study provides a robust workflow of good modelling practice for biological systems, thus ensuring a true interpretation of the uncertainty associated with model inputs. Under rainy conditions, atmospheric settling particles have significant depolarization effects on radar waves and thus affect the target detection performance. This paper establishes an extended target detection model for fully polarized radar under complex rainy conditions and proposes two polarization and waveform optimization methods by taking into account the transmission effect of rainfall. If the rainfall information is known, the polarization and waveform for transmitting and receiving are optimized by maximizing the system Signal-to-Clutter/Noise Ratio (SCNR). While the rainfall information is absent, the optimal transmitting polarization and waveform are obtained by directly compensating the transmission effect from non-rainfall optimization results using fully polarized radar observation parameters. Using measured data from the T-72 tank, The experimental results verify the effectiveness and robustness of the two methods in real scenarios and 4 dB on the improvement of SCNR can be achieved. Named Entity Recognition (NER) is a fundamental task that aids in the completion of other tasks such as text understanding, information retrieval and question answering in Natural Language Processing (NLP). In recent years, the use of a mix of character-word structure and dictionary information for Chinese NER has been demonstrated to be effective. As a representative of hybrid models, Lattice-LSTM has obtained better benchmarking results in several publicly available Chinese NER datasets. However, Lattice-LSTM does not address the issue of long-distance entities or the detection of several entities with the same character. At the same time, the ambiguity of entity boundary information also leads to a decrease in the accuracy of embedding NER. This paper proposes ELCA: Enhanced Boundary Location for Chinese Named Entity Recognition Via Contextual Association, a method that solves the problem of long-distance dependent entities by using sentence-level position information. At the same time, it uses adaptive word convolution to overcome the problem of several entities sharing the same character. Bryson of Heraclea and Polyxenus have received little attention from scholars. Sources on these philosophers are few and difficult to interpret. However, they present interesting dialectical arguments that concern some of Plato's and Aristotle's most important theoretical elaborations: Bryson's arguments on the issue of semantic ambiguity were explicitly discussed by Aristotle, and Polyxenus is credited with a particular version of the Third Man argument. My purpose in this paper is to reconstruct the historical background of these two philosophers and to analyze the philosophical implications of the arguments that the ancient tradition ascribes to them. The positioning performance of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network real-time kinematic (NRTK) depends on regional atmospheric error modeling. Under normal atmospheric conditions, NRTK positioning provides high accuracy and rapid initialization. However, fluctuations in atmospheric conditions can lead to poor atmospheric error modeling, resulting in significant atmospheric biases that affect the positioning accuracy, initialization speed, and reliability of NRTK positioning. Consequently, this decreases the efficiency of NRTK operations. In response to these challenges, this paper proposes a fast and reliable NRTK positioning method based on sequential ambiguity resolution (SAR) of multi-frequency combined observations. This method processes observations from extra-wide-lane (EWL), wide-lane (WL), and narrow-lane (NL) measurements; performs sequential AR using the LAMBDA algorithm; and subsequently constrains other parameters using fixed ambiguities. Ultimately, this method achieves high precision, rapid initialization, and reliable positioning. Experimental analysis was conducted using Continuous Operating Reference Station (CORS) data, with baseline lengths ranging from 88 km to 110 km. The results showed that the proposed algorithm offers positioning accuracy comparable to conventional algorithms in conventional NRTK positioning and has higher fixed rate and positioning accuracy in single-epoch positioning. On two datasets, the proposed algorithm demonstrated over 30% improvement in time to first fix (TTFF) compared to conventional algorithms. It provides higher precision in suboptimal positioning solutions when conventional NRTK algorithms fail to achieve fixed solutions during the initialization phase. In order to address the problems of range ambiguity and azimuth ambiguity in the wide-swath imaging of synthetic aperture radar (SAR), this paper proposes a multi-beam SAR two-dimensional ambiguity suppression method based on azimuth phase coding (APC). The scheme employs an elevation simultaneous multi-beam transmission system with azimuth under-sampling, transmitting different APC waveforms to various range-ambiguous sub-regions. After receiving the echoes, the azimuth digital beamforming (DBF) is used to separate the APC waveform echoes with multi-order Doppler ambiguity, achieving azimuth reconstruction and range ambiguity suppression simultaneously. Finally, the elevation nulling DBF is used to further suppress range ambiguity and obtain the SAR wide-swath image. The superiority of this scheme is reflected in the following aspects: the azimuth DBF simultaneously suppresses azimuth and range ambiguity, the influence of height fluctuations on the ability to suppress range ambiguity is weakened, the use of elevation nulling DBF further enhances the level of range ambiguity suppression, and different range sub-regions can adopt different range resolutions and working modes. True benevolence is, most fundamentally, a desire that the world be better. It is natural and common, however, to frame thinking about benevolence indirectly, in terms of a desire to make a difference to how good the world is. This would be an innocuous shift if desires to make a difference were extensionally equivalent to desires that the world be better. This paper shows that at least on some common ways of making a "desire to make a difference" precise, this extensional equivalence fails. Where it fails, "difference-making preferences" run counter to the ideals of benevolence. Purpose: This paper aims to investigate the relationship between prospective teachers' cultural profiles and service quality expectations in a pedagogical training program in Greece. Design/methodology/approach: Using the EppekQual scale and an alternative Hofstede's cultural scale, 113 prospective teachers in a Greek training program were surveyed. The study uses descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple regression, validating measurements through confirmatory factor analysis. Findings: Prospective teachers exhibit a low-power orientation and a preference for feminine values. Rejecting hierarchy correlates with quality expectations, especially in the curriculum dimension, emphasizing student-centric education. A positive correlation with acceptance/avoidance of uncertainty is observed, notably in learning outcomes and administrative services. The cultural aversion to ambiguity shapes individuals' prioritization of all quality dimensions. A realistic long-term perspective correlates positively with expectations in learning outcomes, aligning with Greek culture's emphasis on security. Contrary to expectations, a predilection for feminine values positively impacts service quality expectations, particularly in curriculum, learning outcomes and academic staff dimensions. The hypothesis related to individualism/collectivism is not substantiated, indicating a negative association with the curriculum dimension. Practical implications: Tailoring program designs to embrace student-centric and collaborative learning environments is recommended. In this paper we investigate the dynamics of a duopoly game with ambiguity aversion regarding uncertainty in demand and constant expectations concerning competitor production. The focus is on an asymmetric Cournot game where players engage in robust optimization and have different beliefs about the possible realizations of the random parameters of the price function. The players' ambiguity aversion introduces multiple equilibria and instability that otherwise would not be present. With the capability for single-receiver AR (Ambiguity Resolution), real-time GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) satellite integer clock has been the research hotspot of GNSS community in the past decade. Robust ambiguity datum is one prerequisite for high-quality integer clock. In this paper, with undifferenced AR model derived, a robust ambiguity datum definition method is proposed to isolate the signal biases from the integer ambiguity. Firstly, based on the ambiguity graph, the ambiguity datum is selected with the minimum spanning tree algorithm. Secondly, the ambiguity datum is transferred to the subsequent epochs through signal bias connection. Moreover, additional datum ambiguities are introduced to accommodate the arising of receiver and satellite in real-time circumstance. With the combination of ambiguity graph and signal bias, the efficient definition and smooth transition of ambiguity datum are assured for the real-time processing. To validate the approach, simulated real-time integer clock estimation for GPS/Galileo/BDS-3 satellites are conducted with one-month (January 2022) data from about 100 global IGS (International GNSS Service) network stations. Experiments show that the proposed robust ambiguity datum can produce accurate real-time integer clock. The average WL (Wide-Lane) and NL (Narrow-Lane) fixed rates exceed 99 % and 95 %, respectively, for most of the GPS/Galileo satellites. While comparable WL fixed rate is achieved for the BDS-3 satellites, the NL fixed rate is about 5 % lower as a result of poor orbit quality and imperfect measurement model. With eclipsing satellites excluded, the standard deviations between real-time integer clock and post-processed reference clock reach 0.018 ns and 0.016 ns for the GPS and Galileo constellations, respectively, which are 28 % and 24 % smaller than those of corresponding float clocks. In contrast, the standard deviations of float and integer clocks are similar for the BDS-3 constellation. Further improvements on the background models, including unconservative force modeling, satellite attitude modeling and antenna calibration are required to achieve ultimate accuracy, especially for the BDS-3 satellites. Autoethnography—a combination of autobiography and ethnography—focuses on the intersection of personal experiences and the culture in which they take place and is considered a viable method for exploring human experiences. The Russo-Ukrainian war has resulted in millions of forcibly displaced asylum-seeking refugees facing ambiguous loss. Whereas much is known about refugees' support needs, little is known about the needs and experiences of the humanitarian delegation members (HDM) who assist them. Through a debrief-based co-autoethnographic account of a female HDM who supported Ukrainian refugee mothers and children on the Polish borders, we explored the lived experiences involved in such a mission. Specifically, we conducted a transnational dyadic autoethnography debrief-based co-autoethnography which included both verbal and photo-based debriefing (eight 2-hour sessions) alongside a reflexive (10-day) field diary analysis. Content analysis revealed cognitive dilemmas, emotional struggles, and practical adaptations occurring within the HDM's three identity-related domains: personal, professional (psychologist), and ethnic. The methodology presented and demonstrated in this paper enhances our theoretical understanding of the challenges faced by HDMs and may contribute to better future design of HDM training. Over the last decade, the digital twin (DT) concept has effectively revolutionized conventional bridge monitoring and management. Despite their overall success, current bridge DTs encounter conceptual ambiguities, hindering their inherent potential for practical implementation. Moreover, intelligent decision support models have not been properly considered as a component of the bridge DTs framework to enhance the reliability of decisions for asset maintenance. Therefore, this paper conducts a scientometric analysis and a comprehensive state-of-the-art review, exploring current bridge DT research trends and architectures and introducing an enhanced conceptual framework for bridge DTs. The aim of this work is to understand the retraction phenomenon in the arts and humanities domain through an analysis of the retraction notices—formal documents stating and describing the retraction of a particular publication. The retractions and the corresponding notices are identified using the data provided by Retraction Watch. Our methodology for the analysis combines a metadata analysis and a content analysis (mainly performed using a topic modelling process) of the retraction notices. Considering 343 cases of retraction, we found that many retraction notices are neither identifiable nor findable. In addition, these were not always separated from the original papers, introducing ambiguity in understanding how these notices were perceived by the community (i.e. cited). Also, we noticed that there is no systematic way to write a retraction notice. Indeed, some retraction notices presented a complete discussion of the reasons for retraction, while others tended to be more direct and succinct. We have also reported many notices having similar text while addressing different retractions. There is rapidly developing interest in legal coding, the development of machine-consumable code representations of legal rules. However, interpretive ambiguities inherent in legal rules make it challenging to directly translate law into code. Interpretive ambiguities pose challenges for legal coders, who must determine the extent to which they disambiguate rules, as well as the interpretive methods applied. Similar interpretive issues have been historically addressed in the field of legal translation. This paper argues that a legal translation framework, known as the principle of fidelity, can be used to better understand and resolve interpretive ambiguities inherent in the legal coding process. Three models of fidelity prominently discussed in legal translation literature are adapted and applied to legal coding. This paper explores how leadership is addressed within Australia's National Children's Education and Care Workforce Strategy (ACECQA, 2021). The Workforce Strategy has been widely welcomed, arriving at a time of unprecedented workforce pressures in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector. Yet, on close examination there appears an absence of focus on leaders as a distinct group within the ECEC workforce. Considering leadership is unequivocally central to retaining and sustaining early childhood educators, this absence of focus is noteworthy. First, the paper unpacks what is currently known about ECEC leadership. Then, how leadership in the policies under consideration is constructed as a problem in relation to quality and capability. Next, silences and ambiguities in how the strategy addresses the retention of leaders and their wellbeing is discussed. This is common in the space sector when individuals of different academic or practitioner backgrounds discuss "commercial" topics. In English, as in other languages, the word "space" is often followed by words such as "industry," "industry segment," "industrial base," "market," "ecosystem" and others. The practice of casually using words with ambiguous meanings may often be appropriate for informal discussion if it facilitates the communication and exchange of ideas and all parties generally understand the implications of the casual usage. This practice, however, is problematic for detailed and analytical applications requiring precision and order of thought. Grounded in contemporary organization theory and economic practice, this paper provides background discussions of different levels of analysis that characterize embedded hierarchical social systems of organizations as they pertain to space. This paper then recommends a hierarchical taxonomy for defining specific terms that describe organizations and activities within the space domain for use by practitioners, analysts and academics requiring more precise language to communicate their market analysis ideas. Increasingly, competing discourses shape tensions between the role of the contemporary university and the global markets in which universities must exist. This paper draws on the examination of interviews with nine education academics in Australia to illuminate the construction of ‘global’ in the production of the global graduate (GG). Discourse analysis is used to explore how, against the backdrop of COVID 19, participants construct different identities variously related to current and future orientations for the GG. This paper uses two big ‘D’ discourses – efficiency as centralised imperative and boundless productivity – to explore knowledge production and accountabilities, neoliberalism, internationalisation and the construction of marketised universities operating in global knowledge economies. We conclude, the GG is an elusive notion, which draws mobile and multiple positionings to reveal unsettled and often ambiguous constructions of ‘university’ and ‘teacher’, with related tensions for the role and identity of education academics. This paper aims to evaluate the quality of groundwater resources used for irrigation purposes using a Mamdani-type fuzzy inference system (MFIS). The MFIS is used to resolve ambiguities and uncertainties in economic, social, and natural systems and also facilitates the capture of expert knowledge in ways similar to human reasoning and thought processes. In this study, 20 groundwater samples were collected from various locations within the Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu, India, between January 2016 and December 2019. These samples underwent physical and chemical analyses to assess the suitability of the collected water resources for irrigation. The analysis utilizes the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System, which combines values of Electrical Conductivity (EC) and Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR). Additionally, methods from the US Salinity Laboratory Staff were also employed. Ultimately, the groundwater quality in Mayiladuthurai is graded for irrigation use by this method. The results indicate that the MFIS reduces imprecision and uncertainty in data handling through the fuzzy membership function. The comparison of irrigation suitability results clearly demonstrates that the proposed MFIS method offers an improved assessment of the irrigation water quality level of the studied groundwater resources. Athanasius continues, unsurprisingly, the venerable tradition of Christological exegesis – identifying, that is, the mysterious man with the Word of God incarnaturus – but seems to reinforce the inherited Christophanic exegesis by taking advantage of a textual ambiguity that only occurs in the LXX text. This paper offers a systematic and doxographical reconstruction of the phenomena of delay and lateness in Martin Heidegger's thought between 1919 and 1930. In the first section, we trace the ambiguities that permeate the nominalization and formalization of delay in order to thematize immediately after the disruptive structure of four modes of delay understood as constitutive within Heidegger's early work. We account for the way in which delay carries an illuminating potential that phenomenologically ensures the evidencing of the constituent dimension. In the second section, we descend to the immanent transformations of Heidegger's philosophy in order to account for two possibilities of philosophy's self-understanding on the basis of delay and lateness, precisely from two modes of relation with the constituent dimension of the appearing: on the one hand, a mode marked by crepuscular lateness, and on the other hand, an executive mode based on auroral delay. In the urban canyon environment, the integer ambiguity is hard to be fixed completely mainly because of the multipath effects, hence partial ambiguity resolution (PAR) is developed. This paper systematically introduces a new model-driven PAR method considering elevation and C/N0. Firstly, the theory of partial ambiguity resolution, the elevation-C/N0 function, and the proposed elevation-C/N0 PAR method are deduced in detail. Secondly, the proposed elevation-C/N0 method is applied in the static and dynamic experiments. The performances of the proposed method are compared with the full ambiguity resolution method, traditional elevation-dependent method, and C/N0-dependent method. Comparisons indicate that the proposed elevation-C/N0 method outperforms other methods. Observed individual behavior in the presence of ambiguity shows insufficient responsiveness to changes in subjective likelihoods. Despite being integral to theoretical models and relevant in many domains, evidence on the causes and determining factors of such likelihood insensitive behavior is scarce. This paper investigates the role of beliefs in the form of ambiguity perception – the extent to which a decision-maker has difficulties assigning a single probability to each possible event – as a potential determinant. Using an experiment, I elicit measures of ambiguity perception and likelihood insensitivity and exogenously vary the level of perceived ambiguity. The results provide strong support for a perception-based explanation of likelihood insensitivity. The two measures are highly correlated at the individual level, and exogenously increasing ambiguity perception increases insensitivity, suggesting a causal relationship. In this paper, we consider a continuous-time version of a reinsurance chain, which is sequentially formed by n+1 companies, with the first company being the primary insurer and the rest being reinsurers. Because of possible model misspecification, all companies are ambiguous about the original risk of the primary insurer. We model each reinsurance contracting problem as a Stackelberg game, in which the assuming reinsurer acts as the leader while the ceding company is the follower. Reinsurance is priced using the mean-variance premium principle and all companies are risk neutral under their own beliefs. We obtain equilibrium indemnities, premium loadings, and distortions in closed form, all of which are proportional to the original risk, with the corresponding proportions decreasing along the chain. We also show that the reinsurance chain with ambiguity aversions in increasing order is optimal from the perspectives of both selfish individual companies and an unselfish central planner. In the context of "dual carbon" objectives, ESG investment concept has received wide attention. In this paper, based on stochastic systems and stakeholder theory, we analyze the interest requirements of subject stakeholders and investigate the agency conflict and coordination problems in the system. Combining with the contract theory, we construct a continuous-time principal-agent model with ambiguity aversion under ESG rating Knightian uncertainty. By the method of stochastic calculus in multiple priors, we derive the HJB equation for the optimal dynamic contract value function based on ESG rating Knightian uncertainty under incentive compatibility conditions. Then, for different ESG rating levels, through numerical simulation, we discuss the impact of the Knightian uncertainty degree of ESG rating on the optimal contract. The study shows that as the Knightian uncertainty degree of ESG rating increases, companies are more inclined to green development and the maximum expected return of principals decreases. In this paper, we propose an innovative approach for transforming 2D human pose estimation into 3D models using Single Input–Single Output (SISO) Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radar technology. This method addresses the significant challenge of reconstructing 3D human poses from 1D radar signals, a task traditionally hindered by low spatial resolution and complex inverse problems. The difficulty is further exacerbated by the ambiguity in 3D pose reconstruction, as multiple 3D poses may correspond to similar 2D projections. Our solution, termed the Radar PoseLifter network, leverages the micro-Doppler signatures inherent in 1D radar echoes to effectively convert 2D pose information into 3D structures. The network is specifically designed to handle the long-range dependencies present in sequences of 2D poses. It employs a fully convolutional architecture, enhanced with a dilated temporal convolutions network, for efficient data processing. We rigorously evaluated the Radar PoseLifter network using the HPSUR dataset, which includes a diverse range of human movements. This dataset comprises data from five individuals with varying physical characteristics, performing a variety of actions. Our experimental results demonstrate the method's robustness and accuracy in estimating complex human poses, highlighting its effectiveness. This research contributes significantly to the advancement of human motion capture using radar technology. It presents a viable solution for applications where precision and reliability in motion capture are paramount. In this paper, the possibility of improving target detection performance in passive bistatic radar by exploiting a frequency agile (FA) signal is investigated, namely frequency agile signal-based passive bistatic radar (FAPBR) coherent integration. Since the carrier frequency of each pulse signal is agile, FAPBR coherent integration suffers from the problems of random range and Doppler phase fluctuations. To tackle these challenges, a novel FA signal coherent integration target detection scheme for PBR is proposed. In particular, the phase quadratic difference principle is presented for eliminating Doppler phase hopping. Then, frequency rearrangement is adopted to compensate for random range phase fluctuation while obtaining the high-range-resolution profiles (HRRPs) of the detecting target. Further, we innovatively present a sliding-range ambiguity decoupling (S-RAD) method to remove the range ambiguity effect in the case of the high pulse repetition frequency (HPRF). Compared with the existing methods, the proposed method can effectively mitigate Doppler phase hopping without requiring prior target velocity information, offering improved coherent integration performance in frequency agile signals with reduced computational complexity. Moreover, it successfully corrects the range ambiguity issue caused by HPRF. Finally, a series of simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The traditional authoritative, obtrusive narrator, also known as the Thackeray-type narrator, has been excluded from the narratological study of consciousness representations, partly because scholars have a stereotypical view that such a narrator avoids descriptions of a character's inside view, and partly because they dislike narratorial presence in the representations of figural consciousness. Taking Thackeray's Vanity Fair as a typical example, this paper revisits these views and reconsiders the presentation of consciousness in terms of narratorial performance of narrative authority. With attention to the degrees of the reader's involvement, it investigates how the narrator modulates various narrative techniques (psycho-narration, free indirect thought, narrated perception) to present the minds of the worldly male characters, how each technique functions in different narrative contexts through the interaction between the narratorial voice and figural consciousness, and how the narrator's internal evaluation is subtly embedded in the immediate representations of consciousness to create intentional ambiguity. This paper discusses using ground-based imagery to determine the attitude of a flying projectile assuming prior knowledge of its external geometry. It presents a segmentation-based approach to follow the object and evaluates it quantitatively with simulated data and qualitatively with both simulated and real data. Two experimental cases are considered: One assumes reliable target distance measurement from an auxiliary range sensor, while the other assumes no range information. The results show that in the case of an unknown projectile–camera distance, with projectile dimensions of 1.378 m and 0.08 m in length and diameter, the estimated distance, in-plane location, and pitch angle accuracies are about 50 m, 0.15 m, and 6 degrees, respectively. Yaw angle estimation is ambiguous. In the second case, assuming that the projectile–camera distance is known resolves the ambiguity of yaw estimation, resulting in accuracies of about 0.15 m, 3 degrees, and 20 degrees for in-plane location, pitch, and yaw angles, respectively.
