Quantum error correction lies at the heart of building reliable quantum information processing systems. Stabilizer codes, a fundamental class of quantum errorcorrecting codes, play a pivotal role in mitigating the adverse effects of noise and decoherence in quantum systems. This paper introduces a novel construction of quantum stabilizer codes using Hadamard difference sets, an elegant mathematical concept derived from combinatorial design theory. In this paper, the construction of the quantum stabilizer codes over non- cyclic Hadamard difference sets with parameters (4m²,2m²-m, m²-m), where m is a positive integer is discussed. Firstly, the parity check matrices are constructed from the Circulant permutation matrices with the help of Hadamard difference sets and then, the Symplectic inner product condition for Hadamard difference sets over binary operation for parity check matrices are obtained to affirm the commutative condition for Stabilizer operators which is vital for the error detection. For application, we constructed a Hadamard difference sets with parameters (16,6,2) for m = 2 of ordered pair of the group Z2 Z8 × (non-cyclic group) and quantum stabilizer codes are obtained by parity-check matrix. Our goal of this paper is to find a construction of all ℓ-quasi-cyclic self-dual codes over a finite field $ {\mathbb F}_q $ F q of length $ m\ell $ mℓ for every positive even integer ℓ. In this paper, we study the case where $ x^m-1 $ x m − 1 has an arbitrary number of irreducible factors in $ {\mathbb F}_q [x] $ F q [ x ] ; in the previous studies, only some special cases where $ x^m-1 $ x m − 1 has exactly two or three irreducible factors in $ {\mathbb F}_q [x] $ F q [ x ] , were studied. Firstly, the binary code case is completed: for any even positive integer ℓ, every binary ℓ-quasi-cyclic self-dual code can be obtained by our construction. Secondly, we work on the q-ary code cases for an odd prime power q. We find an explicit method for construction of all ℓ-quasi-cyclic self-dual codes over $ {\mathbb F}_q $ F q of length $ m\ell $ mℓ for any even positive integer ℓ, where we require that $ q \equiv 1 \pmod {4} $ q ≡ 1 (mod 4) if the index $ \ell \ge 6 $ ℓ ≥ 6. The problem of classifying constacyclic codes over a finite field, both the Hamming distance and the algebraic structure, is an interesting problem in algebraic coding theory. For the repeated-root constacyclic codes of length n p s over p m , where p is a prime number and p does not divide n , the problem has been solved completely for all n ≤ 6 and partially for n = 7 , 8. In this paper, we solve the problem for n = 9 and all primes p different from 3 and 1 9. In particular, we characterize the Hamming distance of all repeated-root constacyclic codes of length 9 p s over p m . In this paper, we study the structure of the skew polynomial ring R = ( p + u p) [ x ; ] and its quotient ring R n = R / 〈 x n − 1 〉 , where p is an odd prime number, u 2 = 0 , and (u) = − u. We give an explicit structure of the ideals in R and R n and propose an algorithm to characterize them. We identify the structure of prime, maximal, and primary ideals in these rings. There are various metrics for researching error-correcting codes. Especially, high-density data storage system gives the existence of inconsistency for the reading and writing process. The symbol-pair metric is motivated for outputs that have overlapping pairs of symbols in a certain channel. The Rosenbloom–Tsfasman (RT) metric is introduced since there exists a problem that is related to transmission over several parallel communication channels with some channels not available for the transmission. In this paper, we determine the minimum symbol-pair weight and RT weight of repeated-root cyclic codes over R = F p m [ u ] / ⟨ u 4 ⟩ of length n = p k . In this paper, we construct a class of Z 4 Z 4 Z 4 -additive cyclic codes generated by 3-tuples of polynomials. We discuss their algebraic structure and show that generator matrices can be constructed for all codes in this class. We study asymptotic properties of this class of codes by using a Bernoulli random variable. Moreover, let 0 < δ < 1 be a real number such that the entropy h 4 ((k + l + t) δ 6) < 1 4 , we show that the relative minimum distance converges to δ and the rate of the random codes converges to 1 k + l + t , where k, l, and t are pairwise co-prime positive odd integers. The fundamental aim of this research is to analyze the configuration of 픽4R submodules, skew cyclic codes over 픽4R and establish their connection with DNA codes, where 픽4 is a field of order 4 and R = 픽4 + u픽4 + v픽4 + w픽4 with u2 = u, v2 = v, w2 = w, uv = vu = 0, vw = wv = 0, wu = uw = 0 is a finite ring. Cyclotomic cosets are intrinsically linked with the design and construction of classical cyclic codes whose properties can be inferred from the coset structures. This paper proposes some new quantum variations of cyclotomic cosets for cyclic stabiliser construction. These variations are governed by several parameters which are devoted to designing the two essential parts: the error part and the position part of these cosets. Criteria on these cosets in generating additive cyclic stabiliser are extensively studied, followed by actual implementation on stabiliser codes construction of several selected classes of length. CSS-T codes were recently introduced as quantum error-correcting codes that respect a transversal gate. A CSS-T code depends on a CSS-T pair, which is a pair of binary codes (C 1 , C 2) such that C 1 contains C 2 , C 2 is even, and the shortening of the dual of C 1 with respect to the support of each codeword of C 2 is self-dual. In this paper, we give new conditions to guarantee that a pair of binary codes (C 1 , C 2) is a CSS-T pair. We define the poset of CSS-T pairs and determine the minimal and maximal elements of the poset. We provide a propagation rule for nondegenerate CSS-T codes. We apply some main results to Reed–Muller, cyclic and extended cyclic codes. We characterize CSS-T pairs of cyclic codes in terms of the defining cyclotomic cosets. In this paper, we study linear codes invariant under a cyclic endomorphism T , called T -cyclic codes. Since every cyclic endomorphism can be represented by a cyclic matrix with respect to a given basis, all of these matrices are similar. For simplicity we restrict ourselves to linear codes invariant under the right multiplication by a cyclic matrix M , that we call M -cyclic codes, and when M is the companion matrix C f of a given nonzero polynomial f (x) we call them f -cyclic codes. The similarity relation between matrices helps us find connections between M -cyclic codes and f -cyclic codes, where f (x) is the minimal polynomial of M. The class of M -cyclic codes contains cyclic codes and their various generalizations such as constacyclic codes, right and left polycyclic codes, monomial codes, and others. As common in the study of cyclic codes and their generalizations, we make use of the one-to-one correspondence between M -cyclic codes and ideals of the polynomial ring R f : = q [ x ] / 〈 f (x) 〉 , where f (x) is the minimal polynomial of M. This correspondence leads to some basic characterizations of these codes such as generator and parity check polynomials among others. Next, we study the duality of these codes, where we show that the b -dual of an M -cyclic code is an M ∗ -cyclic code, where M ∗ is the adjoint matrix of M with respect to b , and we explore some important results on the duality of these codes. In this paper, we present a construction of quantum error-correcting codes (QECCs) codes and entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting (EAQECCs) using Euclidean hulls and sums of cyclic codes of length n over a family of ring R s = F q + v 1 F q + v 2 F q + ⋯ + v s F q , where q is an odd prime power and v i 2 = v i , v i v j = v j v i = 0 , for i , j = 1 , 2 , 3 , ⋯ , s and i ≠ j . The study delves into various aspects of this construction. We explore the generator polynomials, the dimension of both Euclidean hulls and the sums of cyclic codes over the ring R s . Further, we determine several new QECCs and EAQECCs. An $(r, \delta)$ -locally repairable code ($(r, \delta)$ -LRC for short) was introduced by Prakash et al. for tolerating multiple failed nodes in distributed storage systems, which was a generalization of the concept of $r$ -LRCs produced by Gopalan et al.. An $(r, \delta)$ -LRC is said to be optimal if it achieves the Singleton-like bound. Recently, Chen et al. generalized the construction of cyclic $r$ -LRCs proposed by Tamo et al. , and constructed several classes of optimal $(r, \delta)$ -LRCs of length $n$ for $n\, |\, (q-1)$ or $n\,|\, (q+1)$ , respectively in terms of a union of the set of zeros controlling the minimum distance and the set of zeros ensuring the locality. Following the work of , , this paper first characterizes $(r, \delta)$ -locality of a cyclic code via its zeros. Then we construct several classes of optimal cyclic $(r, \delta)$ -LRCs of length $n$ for $n\, |\, (q-1)$ or $n\,|\, (q+1)$ , respectively from the product of two sets of zeros. Our constructions include all optimal cyclic $(r,\delta)$ -LRCs proposed in , , and our method seems more convenient to obtain optimal cyclic $(r, \delta)$ -LRCs with flexible parameters. Let p be an odd prime with p ≠ 5 . In this paper, we first provide the structures of repeated-root cyclic codes of length 10 p s over finite fields F p m . We then give two methods of constructing good quantum error-correcting (QEC) codes from repeated-root cyclic codes of length 10 p s over finite fields F p m . By means of the dimensions of repeated-root cyclic codes of length 10 p s over finite fields F p m , we exhibit an effective manner for constructing new EAQEC codes. We show that the usage of these methods brings us many good QEC and EQAEC codes having these advantages: (1) the parameters of our QEC and EQAEC codes are different from all the previous constructions; (2) for repeated-root cyclic codes, our methods allows for easily calculating the dimensions of QEC and EQAEC codes, and the numbers c of pre-shared maximally entangled states of EAQEC codes. Let p be an odd prime and m and s positive integers, with m even. Let further F p m be the finite field of p m elements and R = F p m + u F p m ( u 2 = 0 ). Then R is a finite chain ring of p 2 m elements, and there is a Gray map from R N onto F p m 2 N which preserves distance and orthogonality, for any positive integer N. It is an interesting approach to obtain self-dual codes of length 2N over F p m by constructing self-dual codes of length N over R. In particular, it has been shown that one of the key problems in constructing self-dual repeated-root cyclic codes over R is to find an effective way to present precisely Hermitian self-dual cyclic codes of length p s over R. But so far, only the number of these codes has been determined in literature. In this paper, we give an efficient way of constructing all distinct Hermitian self-dual cyclic codes of length p s over R by using column vectors of Kronecker products of matrices with specific types. In this paper, δ -dual codes over finite commutative semi-simple rings are defined as a generalization of dual codes over finite commutative semi-simple rings. Some properties of δ -dual codes are given. We present necessary and sufficient conditions for a λ -constacyclic code of length n to be δ -self-dual, δ -self-orthogonal, δ -dual-containing, δ -LCD over finite commutative semi-simple rings. We also study the δ -dual of skew Θ - λ -constacyclic codes over finite commutative semi-simple rings. This research paper discusses the construction of novel and better quantum codes from the direct product of t -copies of ring R (discussed in Section 2), using cyclic codes over R by employing the CSS construction technique. Here, we present an overview of the structure and essential properties of a ring R. Furthermore, we analyze the distance-preserving nature of the Gray map in Subsection 2.1. Here, we also investigate maximum distance separable (MDS) codes by using the concept of quantum singleton defect (QSD), which indicates the overall quality of codes. This paper is devoted to the research of the isomorphic multidimensional cyclic structure and multidimensional phase structure of the cyclic random process (CRP) and to its formation method, which enables a rigorous formalization of intuitive ideas concerning cyclic stochastic motion. The fundamental properties of the cyclic random process and analytical dependencies between the multidimensional cyclic structure, multidimensional phase structure and rhythm structure of the CRP have been established. This work shows that the CRP is able to take into account the cyclicity of multidimensional distribution functions of cyclic signals as well as the variability in the rhythm of the investigated signals. A subclass of the CRP is the periodic random process, which allows for the use of classical processing methods of cyclic signals with a regular rhythm. Based on a series of experiments, significant advantages of the CRP as a mathematical model of electrocardiographic signals (ECG) compared to the periodic random process are shown. Cryptology is a part of mathematics as encryption and decryption. The purpose of encryption is to make information incomprehensible when it is in the hands of unauthorized people. The receiver can decrypt the message that encrypted by the sender with helping of the key. The important point is that the key cannot be decrypted by other people. One Time Pad method solves this problem. The key is used only once each encryption in this method. So, the key becomes harder to guess. If the key is solved by unauthorized people, the message cannot be solved. Because of with each decryption, many meaningful messages are obtained. Every cyclic shift in a cyclic code constructs a new key and in each encryption is used the new key. Many keys are generated thanks to cyclic codes. This paper presents some results on 1-generator quasi-cyclic (QC) codes and their duals over finite fields. We have explicitly obtained a set of generators for the dual of a 1-generator QC code C from the generator of C, for some restricted cases. From the form of the generators of the dual code C ⊥ , we have derived upper bounds on the minimum distance of C ⊥ . For their applications in constructing quantum codes, we have presented some criteria for 1-generator QC codes to be self-orthogonal or self-dual. The dimension of Euclidean hull for a linear code is an important quantity to determine the parameters of an entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting (EAQEC, for short) code. In this paper, we study the Euclidean hull of a cyclic code over finite non-chain rings Z 4 + v Z 4 , where v 2 = v . We provide a method of constructing EAQEC codes by means of our results. In this paper, we introduce F q 2 -double cyclic codes of length n = r + s , where F q 2 is the Galois field of q 2 elements, q is a power of a prime integer p and r, s are positive integers. We determine the generator polynomials for any F q 2 -double cyclic code. For any F q 2 -double cyclic code C , we will define the Euclidean dual code C ⊥ based on the Euclidean inner product and the Hermitian dual code C ⊥ H based on the Hermitian inner product. We will construct a relationship between C ⊥ and C ⊥ H and then find the generator polynomials for the Hermitian dual code C ⊥ H. As an application of our work, we will present examples of optimal parameter linear codes over the finite field F 4 and also examples of optimal quantum codes that were derived from F 4 -double cyclic codes using the Hermitian inner product. The inverse analysis of the intercepted signals to reconstruct the communication scheme used by the transmitter is a key problem in the non‐cooperative context. In this paper, the problem of blind reconstruction of cyclic codes and self‐synchronous scramblers is considered. There is no existing solution to this problem. To solve this problem, a joint blind reconstruction method for cyclic codes and self‐synchronous scramblers is proposed in this paper. A lemma is proposed and proved theoretically that the maximum common factor of the inverse polynomial of the polynomial form of the dual vectors of the self‐synchronous scrambled bit matrix is the product of the parity polynomial of the cyclic code and the feedback polynomial of the self‐synchronous scrambler. Using this lemma, the joint blind reconstruction of the cyclic code and the self‐synchronous scrambler is completed. Finally, a Gaussian elimination based on random column exchange and soft information (GERCESI) method is proposed, which can apply the proposed method to a noisy environment. Simulations prove that the fault‐tolerance performance of the GERCESI method proposed in this paper is at least 0.5 dB higher than that of the GJETP method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we are interested in linear codes invariant under the (σ , δ) -action of a given matrix M , that we call (M , σ , δ) -skew codes. Various subclasses of these codes, depending on the (σ , δ) -cyclical property of M , are derived. In particular, we distinguish between three fundamental types: (M , σ , δ) -cyclic, (M , σ , δ) -quasi-cyclic and (M , σ , δ) -multi-cyclic. These different subclasses allow us to obtain some of the well known types of linear codes as special cases depending on the choice of M. We observe that the (σ , δ) -similarity in M n (F q ) gives rise to various relations between these codes. As common in the study of cyclic codes and their generalizations, we use the skew polynomial ring F q [ x , σ , δ ] to study (M , σ , δ) -skew codes. As an application of the theory developed here, we construct some optimal linear codes and MDS codes over different alphabets with additional desirable properties such as self orthogonality and linear complementary duality (LCD). In this paper, cyclic codes over F q 2 m of lengths 2 (q 2 m - 1) and q 2 m - 1 r (q - 1) are considered, where r ∣ (q + 1) and r ≠ q + 1 . Based on the Hermitian construction, the q 2 -ary images of these cyclic codes are employed to construct quantum codes. Hermitian dual-containing codes are an important class of linear codes which have important applications in the construction of quantum codes. Let G be a p -group for some prime p. Recall that the Hughes subgroup of G is the subgroup generated by all of the elements of G with order not equal to p. In this paper, we prove that if the Hughes subgroup of G is cyclic, then G has exponent p or is cyclic or is dihedral. A class of optimal three-weight [ q k - 1 , k + 1 , q k - 1 (q - 1) - 1 ] cyclic codes over I F q , with k ≥ 2 , achieving the Griesmer bound, was presented by Heng and Yue (IEEE Trans Inf Theory 62(8):4501–4513, 2016. https://doi.org/10.1109/TIT.2016.2550029). In this paper we study some of the subfield codes of this class of optimal cyclic codes when k = 2 . The weight distributions of the subfield codes are settled. It turns out that some of these codes are optimal and others have the best known parameters. The duals of the subfield codes are also investigated and found to be almost optimal with respect to the sphere-packing bound. In addition, the covering structure for the studied subfield codes is determined. Some of these codes are found to have the important property that any nonzero codeword is minimal, which is a desirable property that is useful in the design of a secret sharing scheme based on a linear code. Moreover, a specific example of a secret sharing scheme based on one of these subfield codes is given. Finally, a class of optimal two-weight linear codes over I F q , achieving the Griesmer bound, whose duals are almost optimal with respect to the sphere-packing bound is presented. A verifiable multi-secret sharing (VMSS) scheme addresses various security issues, helping in cheating detection and cheater identification. The dimension of the intersection of a given pair of cyclic codes over a finite field 픽q is represented by ℓ. In this paper, we propose a VMSS scheme based on an ℓ-intersection pair of cyclic codes. The proposed scheme is very useful for sharing a large number of secrets. If p is the number of secrets in a threshold (t,n) scheme, then for p > t, the computational complexity and the public values required in the reconstruction phase are much less compared to many existing schemes in the literature. Overall, the proposed scheme comprises nearly all the features, like being verifiable, testing participants’ integrity, checking Verifier frauds, and most importantly, it is of multi-use type. We consider G to be a finite group and p as a prime number. We fix ψ to be an irreducible character of G with its restriction to all p-regular elements of G and ψ 0 to be an irreducible Brauer character. The main aim of this paper is to describe and investigate the relationship between cyclic anchor group of ψ and the defect group of a p-block which contains ψ. Our methods are to study and generalize some facts for the cyclic defect groups of a p-block B to the case of a cyclic anchor group of irreducible characters which belong to B. In this paper, we develop a theory for constructing cyclic codes of odd length over the ring R = ℤ 4 + u ℤ 4 + v ℤ 4 , where u 2 = v 2 = u v = v u = 0 , which plays an important role in DNA computing. A direct link between the elements of R and the 6 4 codons used in the amino acids of the living organisms is established. Then, we investigate reversible cyclic codes and reversible complement cyclic codes of odd length over R. Moreover, we give some properties of binary images of the codons under the Gray map. Thanks to supramolecular interactions of macrocyclic compounds with their guest ions or molecules, macrocycles have found wide applications in molecular and chiral recognition, separation, transportation, molecular machines, and so on. Photoswitchable macrocycles are especially appealing and attracting more and more interest because the embedded molecular photoswitch enables dynamic control of molecular shape, conformation, and different properties by light, a non‐invasive, remote and highly tunable stimulus. With available photochromic compounds, various photoswitchable macrocycles have been developed. In this review paper, we describe the recently reported photoswitchable macrocyclic compounds, with a focus on the control of the macrocyclic structure, dynamic, photo or thermal isomerization, as well as their applications on encapsulation and release of ionic or aromatic species, on the reversible modulation of chemical, biological, electronic, fluorescent and chiroptical properties by light. Entanglement-assisted quantum-error-correcting (EAQEC) codes are quantum codes which use entanglement as a resource. These codes can provide better error correction than the (entanglement unassisted) codes derived from the traditional stabilizer formalism. In this paper, we provide a general method to construct EAQEC codes from cyclic codes. Afterwards, the method is applied to Reed–Solomon codes, BCH codes, and general cyclic codes. We use the Euclidean and Hermitian construction of EAQEC codes. Three families have been created: two families of EAQEC codes are maximal distance separable (MDS), and one is almost MDS or almost near MDS. Linear codes achieving or nearly achieving the Singleton bound are interesting in both theory and practice. The objective of this paper is to construct several infinite families of MDS, near MDS and almost MDS codes from some special cyclic subgroups of ${\mathbb {F}}_{q^{2}}^{*}$. To this end, the augmentation and extension techniques are used. The codes in this paper have flexible parameters and their lengths could be large. Aging tower cranes face an elevated risk of failure, primarily due to structural fatigue and deterioration. Surprisingly, the degradation of aging-induced lifting capacity (LC) remains an unexplored domain. In response to this research gap, this paper introduces a digital twin-driven (DTD) framework and model to predict the degraded LC of aging tower cranes. This framework combines theoretical and numerical analysis of fatigue and degradation behavior in tower cranes with real-time vibration data obtained during cyclic load scenarios on the actual cranes. Machine learning (ML) techniques are employed to develop a model that accurately predicts the degraded LC caused by aging. A scaled-down tower crane prototype is adopted as a demonstrative case to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the DTD framework. The DTD model predicts the degraded LC of the prototype with high accuracy, achieving a mean-square error (MSE) of 0.2253 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.9973. The predicted degraded load charts of the tested tower crane for each decade of usage from 0 to 70 years are also presented to assist crane operators in applying safe loads, preventing unexpected failures and damages, and enhancing workplace monitoring and safety. This study helps monitor the safety conditions of tower cranes that are aging and susceptible to structural fatigue and deterioration, facilitates the prediction of the deterioration of complex machines and systems in the construction industry with real-time data, and highlights the potential of DTD approaches in improving efficiency, safety, and decision-making. This paper explores how energy piles interact under imbalanced and balanced daily temperature cycles and a range of monotonic thermal loads, combining field experiments and numerical simulations on two bored energy piles with a spacing of 3.5 m. Monotonic heating and cooling loads were simulated for temperature changes of |ΔT| = 5°C, 10°C, 15°C, and 20°C. Balanced, cooling-oriented imbalanced, and heating-oriented imbalanced thermal cycles were simulated between 0°C and 40°C with heating-to-cooling time ratios of 12:12, 16:8, and 8:16, respectively. One of the two energy piles' axial and radial thermomechanical responses was investigated during single- and dual-pile operations. Soil temperature changes between the piles were greater for dual-pile operation, leading to increased thermal interaction, particularly for higher magnitudes of monotonic thermal loads. However, dual-pile operation did not alter the ground temperatures near the edge of the piles for the pile spacing considered. They remained similar for single- and dual-pile operations for the setting investigated in this paper. As a result, the pile temperatures, axial and radial thermal stresses, and thermal stress rates were similar for all single- and dual-pile operations simulations. Cyclic temperatures, particularly balanced cyclic loads, induced lower thermal effects in the piles and soil than in other cases. Overall, the results from this study provide validated insights into the situations where thermal interaction and different temperatures typical of heat pumps should be considered in designing groups of energy piles. Linear complementary dual codes (LCD codes for short) are an important subclass of linear codes which have nice applications in communication systems, cryptography, consumer electronics and information protection. In the literature, it has been proved that an [ n , k , d ] Euclidean LCD code over F q with q > 3 exists if there is an [ n , k , d ] linear code over F q , where q is a prime power. However, the existence of binary and ternary Euclidean LCD codes has not been totally characterized. Hence it is interesting to construct binary and ternary Euclidean LCD codes with new parameters. In this paper, we construct new families of binary and ternary leading-systematic Euclidean LCD codes from some special functions including semibent functions, quadratic functions, almost bent functions, and planar functions. These LCD codes are not constructed directly from such functions, but come from some self-orthogonal codes constructed with such functions. The classical way of extending an [ n , k , d ] linear code C is to add an overall parity-check coordinate to each codeword of the linear code C. This extended code, denoted by C ‾ (− 1) and called the standardly extended code of C , is a linear code with parameters [ n + 1 , k , d ¯ ] , where d ¯ = d or d ¯ = d + 1. This is one of the two extending techniques for linear codes in the literature. The standardly extended codes of some families of binary linear codes have been studied to some extent. However, not much is known about the standardly extended codes of nonbinary codes. For example, the minimum distances of the standardly extended codes of the nonbinary Hamming codes remain open for over 70 years. The first objective of this paper is to introduce the nonstandardly extended codes of a linear code and develop some general theory for this type of extended linear codes. The second objective is to study this type of extended codes of a number of families of linear codes, including cyclic codes and nonbinary Hamming codes. Four families of distance-optimal or dimension-optimal linear codes are obtained with this extending technique. In this paper, we use a novel approach to describe generator polynomials of quasi-cyclic (QC) and generalized QC (GQC) codes over finite fields. Our study of QC- and GQC-codes will be general and not only restricted to one-generator codes. We prove that generator polynomials of QC-codes and GQC-codes are unique. Further, we use our results to obtain an expression for the dimensions of QC-codes and GQC-codes. In this paper, we use the CSS and Steane's constructions to establish quantum error-correcting codes (briefly, QEC codes) from cyclic codes of length 3 p s over F p m . We obtain several new classes of QEC codes in the sense that their parameters are different from all the previous constructions. Among them, we identify all quantum MDS (briefly, qMDS) codes, i.e., optimal quantum codes with respect to the quantum Singleton bound. In addition, we construct quantum synchronizable codes (briefly, QSCs) from cyclic codes of length 3 p s over F p m . Furthermore, we give many new QSCs to enrich the variety of available QSCs. The Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) codes are a well-studied subclass of cyclic codes that have found numerous applications in error correction and notably in quantum information processing. They are widely used in data storage and communication systems. A subclass of attractive BCH codes is the narrow-sense BCH codes over the Galois field ${\mathrm {GF}}(q)$ with length $q+1$ , which are closely related to the action of the projective general linear group of degree two on the projective line. Despite its interest, not much is known about this class of BCH codes. This paper aims to study some of the codes within this class and specifically narrow-sense antiprimitive BCH codes (these codes are also linear complementary duals (LCD) codes that have interesting practical recent applications in cryptography, among other benefits). We shall use tools and combine arguments from algebraic coding theory, combinatorial designs, and group theory (group actions, representation theory of finite groups, etc.) to investigate narrow-sense antiprimitive BCH Codes and extend results from the recent literature. Notably, the dimension, the minimum distance of some $q$ -ary BCH codes with length $q+1$ , and their duals are determined in this paper. The dual codes of the narrow-sense antiprimitive BCH codes derived in this paper include almost MDS codes. Furthermore, the classification of ${\mathrm {PGL}}(2, p^{m})$ -invariant codes over ${\mathrm {GF}}(p^{h})$ is completed. As an application of this result, the $p$ -ranks of all incidence structures invariant under the projective general linear group ${\mathrm {PGL}}(2, p^{m})$ are determined. Furthermore, infinite families of narrow-sense BCH codes admitting a 3-transitive automorphism group are obtained. Via these BCH codes, a coding-theory approach to constructing the Witt spherical geometry designs is presented. It is well-known that cyclic codes have efficient encoding and decoding algorithms. In recent years, antiprimitive BCH codes have attracted a lot of attention. The objective of this paper is to study BCH codes of this type over finite fields and analyse their parameters. Some lower bounds on the minimum distance of antiprimitive BCH codes are given. The BCH codes presented in this paper have good parameters in general, containing many optimal linear codes. In the current paper, we study skew cyclic codes over the ring S : = F 2 × (F 2 + v F 2) with v 2 = v . We investigate the structural properties of skew cyclic codes over the ring S . Also, we describe the dual codes of skew cyclic codes with respect to the Euclidean inner product and the Hermitian inner product. Furthermore, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a skew cyclic code over S to contain its dual. Using these results, we show that binary quantum error-correcting codes as well as entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting codes can be constructed from skew cyclic codes over S . In this paper, we first generalize the complementary pair of codes over finite fields to an l-linear complementary pair (l-LCP) of codes. Then two criteria of l-LCP of codes over finite fields are obtained. We especially investigate l-LCP of constacyclic codes. When C and D are all λ -constacyclic codes, we obtain a characterization of (C, D) to be l-LCP of codes. When C and D are cyclic and negacyclic codes, we give a sufficient condition of (C, D) to be l-LCP of codes. As an application, by means of the l-LCP of codes over finite fields, we exhibit two methods of constructing entanglement-assisted quantum error correcting (EAQEC) codes. The construction for self-dual cyclic codes of length p k over the Galois ring GR (p 2 , m) is the key to construct self-dual cyclic codes of length p k n over the integer residue class ring Z p 2 for any positive integer n satisfying gcd (p , n) = 1 . So far, existing literature has only determined the number of these self-dual cyclic codes (Des Codes Cryptogr 63:105–112, 2012). In this paper, we give an efficient construction for all distinct self-dual cyclic codes of length p k over GR (p 2 , m) by using column vectors of Kronecker products of matrices with specific types. Entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting (EAQEC) codes are a significant extension of quantum error-correcting codes. It has been found that an EAQEC code can be constructed by an arbitrary classical linear code if the encoder and the decoder share the entangled state c in advance. In this paper, we construct two families of q-ary entanglement-assisted quantum maximum-distance-separable (EAQMDS) codes. This construction produces new EAQMDS codes with variable parameters with respect to the minimum distance d and the number c of maximally entangled states. This paper considers three kinds of quasi-cyclic codes of index two with one generator or two generators and their applications in quantum code construction. In accordance with the algebraic structure of linear codes, we determine the lower bounds of the symplectic weights of these quasi-cyclic codes. Quasi-cyclic codes with the dual-containing property enable the construction of quantum codes. Defining the coefficient symmetric polynomials of the generator polynomials gives a concise condition for the dual-containing of the quasi-cyclic codes. The lower bound results can significantly reduce the scope of the search for a larger minimum distance of quasi-cyclic codes. With these algebraic results and computer supports, we obtain classical quasi-cyclic codes with better parameters and some new quantum codes under the symplectic construction.
