Renewable energy, such as wind power and photovoltaic power, has uncertain and intermittent characteristics and zero marginal cost characteristics. The traditional power market mechanism is difficult to adapt to the new power system with a high proportion of renewable energy, and the original market system needs to be reformed. This paper discusses the application of a VCG auction mechanism in the electricity market, proposes a two-stage VCG market-clearing model based on the VCG mechanism, including the day-ahead market and the real-time market, and discusses the nature of the VCG mechanism. In order to address the discrepancy between the actual output of stochastic generator sets in the real-time market and their pre-scheduled output in the day-ahead market due to prediction deviations, a method for calculating punitive costs is proposed. A reallocation method based on market entities' contributing factors to budget imbalance is proposed to address the issue of budget imbalance under the VCG mechanism, in order to achieve revenue and expenditure balance. Through an example, the incentive compatibility characteristics of the VCG mechanism are verified, the problems of the locational marginal pricing (LMP) mechanism in the stochastic electricity market with a high proportion of renewable energy are analyzed, the electricity prices of the LMP mechanism and the VCG mechanism under different renewable energy proportions are compared, and the redistribution of the budget imbalance of the VCG mechanism is analyzed. We report an innovative synthetic strategy for the generation of polysubstituted indoles from indolines, aryldiazonium salts, and azoles. The methodology encompasses an electrophilic substitution reaction affording C5-indoline intermediates which undergo an iodine-mediated oxidative transformation coupled with C–H functionalization to yield the indole derivatives. Hierarchical porous carbon exhibits enormous application potential in the field of energy storage. In this paper, we develop a facile method to prepare hierarchical porous carbon (HPC) derived from wood powder and using KMnO4 as the activator. The optimized HPC‐600 samples possess the large specific surface area with hierarchical porous structure and massive oxygen–containing functional groups. The HPC‐600 electrode shows a specific capacitance of 362.7 F g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 and a capacitance retention of 101.5 % after 10, 000 cycles. In addition, the assembled HPC‐600//HPC‐600 symmetric supercapacitor delivers an energy density of 18.4 Wh kg−1 at a power density of 600 W kg−1. Let π be an automorphic representation of a quasi-split unitary group of even rank with respect to E / F such that π is ordinary above p with respect to the Siegel parabolic subgroup. We construct the cyclotomic p -adic L -function of π , and a certain generating series of Selmer classes of special cycles on Shimura varieties. We show, under some conditions, that if the vanishing order of the p -adic L -function is 1, then our generating series is modular and yields explicit nonzero classes (called Selmer theta lifts) in the Selmer group of the Galois representation of E associated with π ; in particular, the rank of this Selmer group is at least 1. In fact, we prove a precise formula relating the p -adic heights of Selmer theta lifts to the derivative of the p -adic L -function. In parallel to Perrin-Riou's p -adic analogue of the Gross–Zagier formula, our formula is the p -adic analogue of the arithmetic inner product formula recently established by Chao Li and the second author. Semiconductor photocatalysis holds great promise as a method for addressing the issue of antibiotic pollution in water. However, the wide band gap and low carrier separation rate present significant challenges that restrict the water purification efficiency of photocatalytic materials. In this study, a novel TiO 2-x /TiN@C heterojunction was prepared through a typical hydrothermal synthesis and carbon thermal reduction approach, which was utilized for the photocatalytic degradation of levofloxacin (LEV) antibiotics. TiO 2-x contains various titanium oxides, including TiO 2 , Ti 2 O 3 , and Ti 3 O 5 , and possesses a narrow band gap, enabling efficient absorption of visible light. The visible light absorption ability is further enhanced when it forms a heterojunction with plasmonic titanium nitride, which exhibits good carrier separation ability. The results demonstrated that the degradation efficiency of TiO 2-x /TiN@C for levofloxacin under visible light irradiation was significantly superior to that of TiO 2-x @C and TiN without a heterostructure. Characterization tests and mechanistic analysis have revealed that the coupling of the heterostructure with localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) enhances photocatalytic activity. Additionally, the combination of photocatalysis with advanced oxidation methods has exhibited excellent catalytic degradation performance. The difference in work functions between CoS and MoS 2 induces an electron polarization effect, creating dual built-in electric fields at the hierarchical interfaces. This effectively modulates the adsorption behavior of catalytic intermediates, thereby reducing the energy barrier for catalytic reactions. The optimized catalyst exhibits outstanding electrocatalytic performance for both the hydrogen evolution reaction and the sulfur oxidation reaction. Remarkably, in the assembled electrocatalytic coupling system, it only requires a cell voltage of 0.528 V at 10 mA cm−2 and maintains long-term durability for over 168 h. The electrocatalytic urea oxidation reaction (UOR) provides a promising alternative pathway for oxygen evolution in water electrolysis due to its lower thermodynamic barriers. Developing efficient nonprecious metal UOR catalysts is important. Rational design of heterogeneous structures to regulate the morphology and electronic structure is an effective method to improve the activity of electrocatalysts. Herein, a unique heterostructure of ultrathin NiCo-LDH supported by FeNiCoS4 was constructed for the UOR via a facile hydrothermal followed by electrodeposition process. The electrode exhibits superior activity and stability in a solution of 1 M KOH containing 0.33 M urea, with a potential of 1.366 V at 50 mA cm−2 and excellent durability over 48 h. The outstanding performance is attributed to the high conductivity of FeNiCoS4, ultrathin NiCo-LDH and the strong interface interaction between the two components, regulating the local electronic structure of the active metals. Aims. Building on conservation of resources theory, our study investigates how inclusive human resource management (IHRM) promotes nurses' innovative behavior through job crafting and further examines the moderating role of shared leadership. Background. Nurses' involvement in innovation is essential to improve nursing care delivery and accommodate changing medical environments, especially in the face of crisis events like the COVID-19 outbreak. However, knowledge about the relationship between human resource management and nurses' innovative behavior remains scarce. Methods. We collected three-wave data from 338 on-duty registered nurses at four public hospitals in China from November 2022 to January 2023. We used SPSS 22 to conduct hierarchical regressions to test our hypotheses. Results. IHRM positively predicted innovative behavior of nurses with the mediating role of job crafting. In addition, we found that IHRM was more effective in promoting job crafting and subsequent innovative behavior when nurses perceived high levels of shared leadership. Conclusion. IHRM initiated by the organization and shared leadership style are two collaborative approaches to facilitating nurses' job crafting, thereby responding to the imperative need to foster nurses' innovative behavior. The present study emphasizes the important roles of IHRM and shared leadership in promoting nurses' job crafting and subsequent innovative behavior, providing theoretical and practical implications for nursing management in the current dynamic and challenging environment. [Display omitted] Two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures offer new platforms for exploring novel physics and diverse applications ranging from electronics and photonics to optoelectronics at the nanoscale. The studies to date have largely focused on transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) based samples prepared by mechanical exfoliation method, therefore it is of significant interests to study high-quality vdW heterostructures using novel materials prepared by a versatile method. Here, we report a two-step vapor phase growth process for the creation of high-quality vdW heterostructures based on perovskites and TMDCs, such as 2D Cs 3 Bi 2 I 9 /MoSe 2 , with a large lattice mismatch. Supported by experimental and theoretical investigations, we discover that the Cs 3 Bi 2 I 9 /MoSe 2 vdW heterostructure possesses hybrid band alignments consisting of type-I and type-II heterojunctions because of the existence of defect energy levels in Cs 3 Bi 2 I 9. More importantly, we demonstrate that the type-II heterojunction in the Cs 3 Bi 2 I 9 /MoSe 2 vdW heterostructure not only shows a higher interlayer exciton density, but also exhibits a longer interlayer exciton lifetime than traditional 2D TMDCs based type-II heterostructures. We attribute this phenomenon to the reduced overlap of electron and hole wavefunctions caused by the large lattice mismatch. Our work demonstrates that it is possible to directly grow high-quality vdW heterostructures based on entirely different materials which provide promising platforms for exploring novel physics and cutting-edge applications, such as optoelectronics, valleytronics, and high-temperature superfluidity. Highlights Fiber‐reinforced polymers composites (FRPs) are widely used in the industrial field, but their failure mechanism in extreme environments is usually unclear. In this work, the effect of high‐temperature, high‐pressure and H2S/CO2 extreme environment, similar to oil and gas field conditions, on raw fibers and unidirectional FRPs was investigated. The results showed that the glass fibers (GFs) suffered extensive degradation with the presence of metal sulfides in the precipitate, whereas basalt fibers (BFs) showed localized degradation. The flexural modulus of glass fiber reinforced polymer composite (GFRP) after degradation decreased by 28.8% compared to 25.6% for the basalt fiber reinforced polymer composite (BFRP). The interlaminar shear strength and flexural strength of the BFRP decreased by 20.3% and 24.7% respectively. In contrast, the GFRP had a reduction of 55.2% in flexural strength after degradation. Finite element method (FEM) analysis showed that the GFRP exhibited severe cohesive interface damage, while the primary failure mode of BFRP remained essentially unchanged with a combination of fiber damage and cohesive interface damage. This study confirms the superior degradation resistance of BF/BFRP over GF/GFRP in the simulated environment and highlights its promising application potential in oil and gas field service. Filament winding was used to fabricate the GFRP and BFRP. Revealed distinct surface morphology changes in GFs and BFs under simulated oil and gas field conditions. Superior degradation resistance of BFRP over GFRP was found in the extreme environment. Demonstrated superior chemical stability and mechanical properties of BFRP over GFRP. BACKGROUND: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a common heritable heart disease. Although HCM has been reported to be associated with many variants of genes involved in sarcomeric protein biomechanics, pathogenic genes have not been identified in patients with partial HCM. FARS2 (the mitochondrial phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase), a type of mitochondrial aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase, plays a role in the mitochondrial translation machinery. Several variants of FARS2 have been suggested to cause neurological disorders; however, FARS2-associated diseases involving other organs have not been reported. We identified FARS2 as a potential novel pathogenic gene in cardiomyopathy and investigated its effects on mitochondrial homeostasis and the cardiomyopathy phenotype. METHODS: FARS2 variants in patients with HCM were identified using whole-exome sequencing, Sanger sequencing, molecular docking analyses, and cell model investigation. Fars2 conditional mutant (p.R415L) or knockout mice, fars2 -knockdown zebrafish, and Fars2 -knockdown neonatal rat ventricular myocytes were engineered to construct FARS2 deficiency models both in vivo and in vitro. The effects of FARS2 and its role in mitochondrial homeostasis were subsequently evaluated using RNA sequencing and mitochondrial functional analyses. Myocardial tissues from patients were used for further verification. RESULTS: We identified 7 unreported FARS2 variants in patients with HCM. Heart-specific Fars2 -deficient mice presented cardiac hypertrophy, left ventricular dilation, progressive heart failure accompanied by myocardial and mitochondrial dysfunction, and a short life span. Heterozygous cardiac-specific Fars2 R415L mice displayed a tendency to cardiac hypertrophy at age 4 weeks, accompanied by myocardial dysfunction. In addition, fars2 -knockdown zebrafish presented pericardial edema and heart failure. FARS2 deficiency impaired mitochondrial homeostasis by directly blocking the aminoacylation of mt-tRNAPhe and inhibiting the synthesis of mitochondrial proteins, ultimately contributing to an imbalanced mitochondrial quality control system by accelerating mitochondrial hyperfragmentation and disrupting mitochondrion-related autophagy. Interfering with the mitochondrial quality control system using adeno-associated virus 9 or specific inhibitors mitigated the cardiac and mitochondrial dysfunction triggered by FARS2 deficiency by restoring mitochondrial homeostasis. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings unveil the previously unrecognized role of FARS2 in heart and mitochondrial homeostasis. Previous studies have documented negative associations between somatic symptoms and remission of major depressive disorder (MDD). However, the correlations of specific somatic symptoms with remission remain uncertain. We aimed to explore the associations between specific somatic symptoms and remission focusing on sex differences among patients with MDD. We used data from patients with MDD in the Depression Cohort in China. At baseline, total somatic symptoms were evaluated using the 28-item Somatic Symptoms Inventory and were categorized into pain, autonomic, energy, and central nervous system (CNS) symptoms. To measure remission of MDD, depressive symptoms were evaluated using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 after 3 months of treatment. We ultimately included 634 patients. Compared with quartile 1 of total somatic symptom scores, the full-adjusted ORs (95% CIs) for remission from quartile 2 to quartile 4 were 0.52 (0.30, 0.90), 0.44 (0.23, 0.83), and 0.36 (0.17, 0.75), respectively (P -value for trend = 0.005). The restricted cubic spline showed no non-linear associations between total somatic symptoms with remission (P -value for non-linear = 0.238). Pain, autonomic, and CNS symptoms showed similar results. Sex-stratified analysis showed that total somatic symptoms, pain symptoms, and autonomic symptoms were negatively correlated with remission in females, whereas CNS symptoms were negatively associated with remission in males. Our findings indicate that specific somatic symptoms exert differential effects on remission of MDD. Therapeutic interventions that target pain, autonomic, and CNS symptoms may increase the probability of remission. Aims: Primary mucoepidermoid carcinomas (MECs) of the sinonasal tract and nasopharynx are rare entities that represent a diagnostic challenge, especially in biopsy samples. Herein, we present a case series of MECs of the sinonasal and skull base and its mimics to evaluate the clinicopathological and molecular characteristics in order to avoid misdiagnosis. Methods: We reviewed the pathology records of patients diagnosed from 2014 to 2022. Thirty MECs were consecutively diagnosed during that period. Results: Based on morphological and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analyses, 30 tumors originally diagnosed as MECs were separated into MAML2 fusion-positive (7 cases) and MAML2 fusion-negative groups (23 cases), in which 14 tumors were positive for the EWSR1::ATF1 fusion; these tumors were reclassified to have hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC). The remaining nine MAML2 FISH negative cases were reconfirmed as squamous cell carcinoma (SCC, 3 cases) which showed keratinization and high Ki-67 expression; DEK::AFF2 carcinomas (2 cases), in which DEK gene rearrangement was detected by FISH; and MECs as previously described (4 cases) with typical morphological features. Including 7 MAML2 rearrangements tumors, 11 MEC cases had a male-to-female ratio of 4.5:1, and 6 tumors arose from the nasopharyngeal region, while 5 tumors arose from the sinonasal region. The prognosis of this series of salivary gland-type MECs was favorable. Conclusions: Our study confirmed that HCCC runs the risk of being misdiagnosed as MEC in the sinonasal tract and nasopharynx, particularly with biopsy specimens. Objectives: To explore the feasibility of pretreatment nonenhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in predicting insufficient biochemical response to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) in patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). Methods: From January 2009 to April 2022, consecutive PBC patients who were treated with UDCA and underwent nonenhanced MRI within 30 days before treatment were retrospectively enrolled. All MR images were independently evaluated by two blinded radiologists. Uni- and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to develop a predictive model for 12-month insufficient biochemical response. Model performances were evaluated by computing the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), sensitivity, and specificity. Results: A total of 74 patients (50.6 ± 11.9 years; 62 females) were included. Three pretreatment MRI features, including hepatomegaly (odds ratio [OR]: 4.580; p = 0.011), periportal hyperintensity on T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) (OR: 4.795, p = 0.008), and narrowing of the bile ducts (OR: 3.491; p = 0.027) were associated with 12-month insufficient biochemical response in the multivariable analysis. A predictive model based on the above indicators had an AUC of 0.781, sensitivity of 85.4%, and specificity of 61.5% for predicting insufficient biochemical response. Conclusions: A noninvasive model based on three pretreatment MRI features could accurately predict 12-month insufficient biochemical response to UDCA in patients with PBC. Early identification of PBC patients at increased risk for insufficient response can facilitate the timely initiation of additional treatment. Clinical relevance statement: A noninvasive predictive model constructed by incorporating three pretreatment MRI features may help identify patients with primary biliary cholangitis at high risk of insufficient biochemical response to ursodeoxycholic acid and facilitate the timely initiation of additional treatment. To investigate the impact of baseline painful physical symptoms (PPS) on subsequent first-episode major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults with subthreshold depressive symptoms, including subgroup analyses to assess whether the associations differ in individuals with and without physical diseases. A total of 2343 adults with subthreshold depressive symptoms were recruited at 34 primary health care centers. PPS were measured at baseline. First-episode MDD during follow-up was diagnosed by professional psychiatrists using the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview. Baseline PPS showed independent impacts on first-episode MDD in adults with subthreshold depressive symptoms without physical diseases, but not in those with physical diseases. A non-linear association (P < 0.001) was observed between PPS burden and the risk of first-episode MDD. The HR s for first-episode MDD exhibited a rapidly increasing trend between PPS burden scores of 10–16, and maintained consistently high when scores exceeded 16. The analyses for specific PPS revealed that headache, neck pain, and heart or chest pain were independently associated with first-episode MDD in participants without physical diseases, the HR s were 1.57 (1.15–2.36), 1.53 (1.02–2.30), and 1.69 (1.14–2.50), respectively. Further network analysis demonstrated that heart or chest pain serves as a bridge symptom among the seven specific PPS and first-episode MDD in those without physical diseases. PPS burden and heart or chest pain may be significant indicators for first-episode MDD in adults with subthreshold depressive symptoms without physical diseases. Autoimmune factors play an important role in premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). Human amniotic epithelial stem cells (hAESCs) have recently shown promising treatment effects on chemotherapy-induced POI. However, the therapeutic efficacy and underlying mechanisms of hAESCs in autoimmune POI remain to be investigated. In this study, we showed for the first time that intravenous transplantation of hAESCs could reside in the ovary of zona pellucida 3 peptide (pZP3) induced autoimmune POI mice model for at least 4 weeks. hAESCs could improve ovarian function and fertility, alleviate inflammation and reduce apoptosis of granulosa cells (GCs) in autoimmune POI mice. The transcriptome analysis of mice ovaries and in vitro co-cultivation experiments suggest that activation of the AKT and ERK pathways may be the key mechanism in the therapeutic effect of hAESCs. • Silicon nanowires were in-situ grown on basalt fibers via chemical vapor deposition. • Tensile force of basalt fiber monofilament was enhanced by 19.0% after modification. • Interfacial shear strength between basalt fiber and epoxy was increased by 18.5%. In this work, the interface interaction between basalt fiber (BF) and epoxy resin (EP) is improved using the in-situ growth of polysiloxane nanowires (SiNWs) on the BF surface. First, the pristine BFs were treated by piranha solution to obtain numerous active hydroxyl groups. Subsequently, the hydrolysis of ethyl trichlorosilane (ETCS) under varying humidity facilitated the formation of self-assembled silanols, resulting in the stable one-dimensional nanostructure on the BF through chemical vapor deposition (CVD) for different durations. The results show the significance of both the humidity level during ETCS hydrolysis and deposition time in achieving the in-situ growth of SiNWs on BF. Furthermore, the effects of surface modification on BF strength and BF-EP interface adhesion were investigated. At a relative humidity of 62% and a deposition time of 4 h, the tensile force of BF monofilament and interfacial shear strength (IFSS) between BF and EP were enhanced by 19.0% and 18.5% respectively.
