Abstract: The article presents a study on the function of viral FLICE inhibitory protein (vFLIP) encoded by Rhesus monkey rhadinovirus (RRV). The study showed that RRV vFLIP inhibits apoptosis induced by tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) and cycloheximide. The vFLIP protects cells against apoptosis by enhancing autophagosome formation to extend cell survival.
