The current paper examines whether the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership could positively impact climate action by analysing its provisions and, linkages of regional and global value chains, trade and carbon dioxide emissions embedded in trade along production chains of the countries that are party to it. It finds that while CPTPP includes provisions that can impact climate action, it is not clear yet whether these have made any impact. Further, empirical analysis confirms that higher global value chain linkages and trade openness leads to lower exports of carbon di-oxide emissions. Lastly, the paper finds the CPTPP countries have been relatively high exporters of CO2 emissions compared to similar other country groups. The paper argues the agreement should include flexible measures in future balancing interests of other issues with climate action, and accounting for differences between countries and sectors, future shocks and, global value chain specificities. The impact of Climate migration in South Asia will lead to geographies of dispossession of land and create 'spaces of exception' and 'spaces of exclusion'. Such dispossession will create new 'global souls'[climate Refugees] and new social-cultural geographies of identity determined and organised on the basic of catastrophic climatic events. The momentous rejoinder to climate change will require sacrifices, strong regional Institutions with accurate governance and cooperation across borders. Hitherto, the land management policies of the State in South Asia have failed in supporting the commons and the livelihoods options of the citizens and non-citizens alike. With emerging discourse of climate change new land management policies are indispensable that will further demand committed leadership and powerful regulation. The goal of this paper is to analyses the relevance of Bhoodan movement as an institution to govern the common property management and the use of natural resources in a sustainable way. It is a process of receiving land as a gift, distribution of land to landless and plans for construction and management of land. This paper will further look into how this concept can be used inter-state or intra-state within South Asia as 'geographies of repossession'towards climate displaced community? Can this be applied to Climate refugees and understand that whether it would be able to provide land and dignity to millions who will be crossing edge in search of protected lands and livelihood?. The global community proposes to takes measures for combating climate change. The United Nations initiated a process that brought together experienced negotiators to discuss the twin solution of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the new environment in the Copenhagen summit. However, the competing goals and lack of trust resulted in a failure to reach a mutual beneficial agreement between nation-states. This paper examines the negotiation process and where it failed in streamlining issues, facilitating communication, creating equity and promoting transparency. The paper argues that the negotiation process underwent capitalization, and the approach needs to be reformed with inclusion of environmental consciousness instead of rationalization. This paper assessed the influence of Nigerian media on public knowledge of climate change. This work acknowledges that public understanding of climate change is a prerequisite to taking voluntary action to mitigate its effects. The work therefore sought to ascertain the specific ways in which Nigerian media reportage of climate change had influenced public knowledge of the subject matter. A survey was conducted in Abuja, Enugu, Ikeja and Port Harcourt. Editors of four newspapers in Nigeria were interviewed. Results indicated that the mass media did not rank the highest as sources of information for the audience on climate change, and they (media) did not significantly influence public knowledge of climate change. This finding differed from results of studies in the US. Respondents linked climate change to changes in weather patterns. This study recommended that opinion polls are necessary to see where audience interests lies as well as how much media views influence public understanding in terms of communication effectiveness.
