The respiratory disease of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has wreaked havoc on the economy of every nation by infecting and killing millions of people. This deadly disease has taken a toll on the life of the entire human race, and an exact cure for it is still not developed. Thus, the control and cure of this disease mainly depend on restricting its transmission rate through early detection. The detection of coronavirus infection facilitates the isolation and exclusive care of infected patients. This research paper proposes a novel data mining system that combines the ensemble feature selection method and machine learning classifier for the effective identification of COVID-19 infection. Different feature selection approaches including chi-square test, recursive feature elimination (RFE), genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm optimization (PSO), and random forest are evaluated for their effectiveness in enhancing the classification accuracy of the machine learning classifiers. The classifiers that are considered in this research work are decision tree, naïve Bayes, K -nearest neighbor (KNN), multilayer perceptron (MLP), and support vector machine (SVM). Two COVID-19 datasets were used for testing from which the best features supporting the dataset were extracted by the proposed system. Breast cancer is a cancer disease that seriously threatens women's health and occupies the first place in female cancer mortality. At present, the incidence rate of breast cancer in China is the first in the world and is on the rise. In view of the serious harm of breast cancer to life and health, researchers and institutions are making unremitting efforts to find a perfect diagnosis and treatment plan. With the improvement of computer performance and machine learning levels, intelligent algorithms have been able to replace human behavior and judgment in some fields. The traditional breast cancer diagnosis process requires medical experts to observe patient data repeatedly. In this case, the algorithm technology is used to quickly feedback a high probability reference result to doctors, which is particularly important to increase the diagnosis efficiency and reduce the burden of doctors. In order to improve the accuracy of existing breast cancer recognition methods, this paper proposes and implements a scheme based on a whale optimization algorithm to iteratively adjust the key parameters of the support vector machine to improve the accuracy of breast cancer recognition. In order to verify the performance of the WOA-SVM algorithm, this paper uses the Wisconsin breast cancer data in the UCI database for performance verification experiments. This paper employs machine learning algorithms to detect tax evasion and analyzes tax data. With the development of commercial businesses, traditional algorithms are not appropriate for solving the tax evasion detection problem. Hence, other algorithms with acceptable speed, precision, analysis, and data decisions must be used. In the case of assets and tax assessment, the integration of machine learning models with meta-heuristic algorithms increases accuracy due to optimal parameters. In this paper, intelligent machine learning algorithms are used to solve tax evasion detection. This research uses an improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) algorithm to improve the multilayer perceptron neural network by finding the optimal weight and improving support vector machine (SVM) classifiers with optimal parameters. The IPSO-MLP and IPSO-SVM models using the IPSO algorithm are used as new models for tax evasion detection. Our proposed system applies the dataset collected from the general administration of tax affairs of West Azerbaijan province of Iran with 1500 samples for the tax evasion detection problem. The evaluations show that the IPSO-MLP model has a higher accuracy rate than the IPSO-SVM model and logistic regression. Moreover, the IPSO-MLP model has higher accuracy than SVM, Naive Bayes, k-nearest neighbor, C5.0 decision tree, and AdaBoost. Diabetes is one of the alarming issues in today's era. It is a chronic disease that may cause many health-related problems. It is a group of syndrome that results in too much sugar in the blood. Diabetes's chronic hyperglycemia has been linked to long-term damage, organ breakdown, and organ failure, notably in the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and veins. Machine learning has quickly advanced, and it is now used in many facets of medical health. The goal of this research is to create a model with the highest level of accuracy that can predict a patient's chance of developing diabetes. This paper proposes a novel architecture for predicting diabetes patients using the K-means clustering technique and support vector machine (SVM). The features extracted from K-means are then classified using an SVM classifier. A publicly available dataset, namely, the Pima Indians Diabetes Database, is tested using this approach. Accuracy of 98.7% is noted on the used dataset. On this dataset, the combined method performs better than the conventional SVM-based classification. SVM is one of the most widely used machine learning algorithms that enables efficient statistical learning with a very limited number of samples. Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the significant common neurological disorders of the current age that causes uncontrollable movements like shaking, stiffness, and difficulty. The early clinical diagnosis of this disease is essential for preventing the progression of PD. Hence, an innovative method is proposed here based on combining the crow search algorithm and decision tree (CSADT) for the early PD diagnosis. This approach is used on four crucial Parkinson's datasets, including meander, spiral, voice, and speech-Sakar. Using the presented method, PD is effectively diagnosed by evaluating each dataset's critical features and extracting the primary practical outcomes. The used algorithm was compared with other machine learning algorithms of k-nearest neighbor (KNN), support vector machine (SVM), naive Baye (NB), multilayer perceptron (MLP), decision tree (DT), random tree, logistic regression, support vector machine of radial base functions (SVM of RBFs), and combined classifier in terms of accuracy, recall, and combination measure F1. The analytical results emphasize the used algorithm's superiority over the other selected ones. The proposed model yields nearly 100% accuracy through various trials on the datasets. Notably, a high detection speed achieved the lowest detection time of 2.6 seconds. Hospital information system (HIS) can provide a full range of information support for various hospital business activities and information collection, processing, and transmission, helping medical service providers. And HIS can reduce medical service costs and improve work efficiency, greatly reducing errors in diagnosis and treatment. Although the advantages of using the HIS are obvious, there are still some challenges in its use, the most prominent being how to make the medical staff use HIS effectively. Based on this background, this paper uses machine learning (ML) technology to predict and analyze the satisfaction of HIS use in hospitals and completes the following work: firstly, introduce the situation and development trend of HIS construction at home and abroad and provide theoretical basis for model design. The related development technologies are discussed and studied in detail. Second, the ML algorithm is used to provide a prediction strategy. The support vector machine (SVM) can handle small data sets well, and this study applies the AdaBoost technique to improve the model's generalization ability and accuracy. Lastly, a diversity metric is included to guarantee that the basic learner has good variety in order to increase the algorithm's performance. In China, the application of corpus in language teaching, especially in English and American literature teaching, is still in the preliminary research stage, and there are various shortcomings, which have not been paid due attention by front-line educators. Constructing English and American literature corpus according to certain principles can effectively promote English and American literature teaching. The research of this paper is devoted to how to automatically build a corpus of English and American literature. In the process of keyword extraction, key phrases and keywords are effectively combined. The similarity between atomic events is calculated by the TextRank algorithm, and then the first N sentences with high similarity are selected and sorted. Based on ML (machine learning) text classification method, a combined classifier based on SVM (support vector machine) and NB (Naive Bayes) is proposed. The experimental results show that, from the point of view of accuracy and recall, the classification effect of the combined algorithm proposed in this paper is the best among the three methods. The best classification results of accuracy, recall, and F value are 0.87, 0.9, and 0.89, respectively. Fatal diseases like cancer, dementia, and diabetes are very dangerous. This leads to fear of death if these are not diagnosed at early stages. Computer science uses biomedical studies to diagnose cancer, dementia, and diabetes. With the advancement of machine learning, there are various techniques which are accessible to predict and prognosis these diseases based on different datasets. These datasets varied (image datasets and CSV datasets) around the world. So, there is a need for some machine learning classifiers to predict cancer, dementia, and diabetes in a human. In this paper, we used a multifactorial genetic inheritance disorder dataset to predict cancer, dementia, and diabetes. Several studies used different machine learning classifiers to predict cancer, dementia, and diabetes separately with the help of different types of datasets. So, in this paper, multiclass classification proposed methodology used support vector machine (SVM) and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) machine learning techniques to predict three diseases and compared these techniques based on accuracy. Simulation results have shown that the proposed model of SVM and KNN for prediction of dementia, cancer, and diabetes from multifactorial genetic inheritance disorder achieved 92.8% and 92.5%, 92.8% and 91.2% accuracy during training and testing, respectively. So, it is observed that proposed SVM-based dementia, cancer, and diabetes from multifactorial genetic inheritance disorder prediction (MGIDP) give attractive results as compared with the proposed model of KNN. This paper proposed a Bayesian optimized extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) model to recognize small-scale faults across coalbeds using reduced seismic attributes. Firstly, the seismic attributes of the mining area were preprocessed to remove abnormal samples and high-noise samples. Secondly, chi-square bins were performed for each feature of the processed attributes. The weight of evidence (WOE) was calculated in each container, and each element's information value (IV) was obtained to characterize the importance of each feature. Features with low information values are reduced to remove high-noise attributes. Thirdly, the reduced attributes are decomposed by variational modal decomposition (VMD) to obtain new features. Finally, the optimized XGBoost model and traditional methods were constructed to identify and locate faults across coalbeds. Here, the Bayesian-optimized XGBoost objective function was used to balance the training weights of asymmetric examples. As the Bayesian optimization algorithm quickly falls into local optimums, it does not easily balance the "exploit" and "explore" approaches. Therefore, this paper proposed an adaptive balance factor change algorithm to overcome this shortcoming. Comparing the identification outcomes, the optimized XGBoost model has a higher prediction accuracy than the BP neural network, support vector machines (SVMs), K-means clustering, extreme learning machines (ELMs), and random forests (RFs). Scientific risk assessment is an important guarantee for the healthy development of an enterprise. With the continuous development and maturity of machine learning technology, it has played an important role in the field of data prediction and risk assessment. This paper conducts research on the application of machine learning technology in enterprise risk assessment. According to the existing literature, this paper uses three machine learning algorithms, i.e., random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), and AdaBoost, to evaluate enterprise risk. In the specific implementation, the enterprise's risk assessment indexes are first established, which comprehensively describe the various risks faced by the enterprise through a number of parameters. Then, the three types of machine learning algorithms are trained based on historical data to build a risk assessment model. Finally, for a set of risk indicators obtained under current conditions, the risk index is output through the risk assessment model. In the experiment, some actual data are used to analyze and verify the method, and the results show that the proposed three types of machine learning algorithms can effectively evaluate enterprise risks. This paper studies the problem of Sanda from the following two aspects. First, we try to apply two deep learning algorithms, graphical neural network and recurrent neural network, to the boxing movement recognition task and compare the effects with quadratic discriminant analysis and support vector machine. By comparing and analyzing the influence of different network structures on the deep learning algorithm, it is concluded that recurrent neural network has more practical application advantages than graph neural network in network structure parameter tuning. This paper represents the recognition of group activity in public areas, considering personal actions and interactions between people from the field of computer vision. Modeling the interaction relationships between multiple people is essential for recognizing group activity in the video scene. In artificial intelligence applications, identifying group activities based on human interaction is often a challenging task. This paper proposed a model that formulates a group action context (GAC) descriptor. The descriptor was developed by integrating the focal person action descriptor and interaction joint context descriptor of nearby people in the video frame. The model used an efficient optimization principle based on machine learning to learn the discriminative interaction context relations between multiple persons. The proposed novel group action context descriptor is classified by support vector machine (SVM) to recognize group activity. The proposed technique effectiveness is evaluated for group activity recognition by performing experiments on a publicly available collective activity dataset. The proposed approach infers a group action class when multiple persons are together in the video sequence, especially when the interaction between people is confusing. The overall group action recognition model is interrelated with a baseline model to estimate the performance of interaction context information. In ordinary credit card datasets, there are far fewer fraudulent transactions than ordinary transactions. In dealing with the credit card imbalance problem, the ideal solution must have low bias and low variance. The paper aims to provide an in-depth experimental investigation of the effect of using a hybrid data-point approach to resolve the class misclassification problem in imbalanced credit card datasets. The goal of the research was to use a novel technique to manage unbalanced datasets to improve the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms in detecting fraud or anomalous patterns in huge volumes of financial transaction records where the class distribution was imbalanced. The paper proposed using random forest and a hybrid data-point approach combining feature selection with Near Miss-based undersampling technique. We assessed the proposed method on two imbalanced credit card datasets, namely, the European Credit Card dataset and the UCI Credit Card dataset. The experimental results were reported using performance matrices. We compared the classification results of logistic regression, support vector machine, decision tree, and random forest before and after using our approach. The findings showed that the proposed approach improved the predictive accuracy of the logistic regression, support vector machine, decision tree, and random forest algorithms in credit card datasets. Damage induced by a low-velocity impact can reduce the stability and reliability of structures. In this study, a novel low-velocity impact region identification method based on the spectral peak frequency (SPF) and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed to identify the low-velocity impact regions on a steel cantilever beam. A low-velocity impact region identification system of the cantilever beam is established by applying fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, and only 2 sensors are used in this system. The power spectral density functions of the impact response signal are smoothed using the linear weighting method to remove pseudospectral peak frequencies, and then, SPFs are extracted as the features. For 25 low-velocity impact regions with dimensions of 30 mm × 10 mm, the results show that the recognition rate obtained by the proposed method is 100% and the feature vector consisting of the first two SPFs with the largest amplitude has the highest recognition rate. Through the comparative study, it is found that the recognition rate of SVM is higher than that of the probabilistic neural network (PNN) and extreme learning machine (ELM) for low-velocity impact area recognition of cantilever beams. Diabetes is one of the biggest health problems that affect millions of people across the world. Uncontrolled diabetes can increase the risk of heart attack, cancer, kidney damage, blindness, and other illnesses. Researchers are motivated to create a Machine Learning methodology that can predict diabetes in the future. Exploiting Machine Learning Algorithms (MLA) is essential if healthcare professionals are able to identify diseases more effectively. In order to improve the medical diagnosis of diabetes this research explored and contrasts various MLA that can identify diabetes risk early. The research includes the analysis on real datasets such as a clinical dataset gathered from a doctor in the Indian district of Bandipora in the years April 2021–Feb2022. In this paper, we discussed both psychological issues together with personality traits for predicting the best human capital that is mentally healthy and strong. In this research, we replace the traditional methods of research used in the past for judging the mental health of the society, with the latest artificial intelligence techniques to predict these components for attaining the best human capital. In the past, researchers have point out major flaws in predicting psychological issue and addressing a right solution to the human resource working in organizations of the world. In order to give solution to these issues, we used five different psychological issues pertinent to human beings for accurate prediction of human resource personality that effect the overall performance of the employee. In this regard, a sample of 500 data has been collected to train and test on computer through python for selecting the best model that will outperform all the other models. We used supervised AI techniques like support vector machine linear, support vector machine radial basis function, decision tree model, logistic regression, and neural networks. Results proved that psychological issue data from employee of different organizations are better means for predicting the overall performance based on personality traits than using either of them alone. Heart disease is among the leading causes of mortality globally. Predicting cardiovascular disease is a major difficulty in clinical data analysis. AI has been demonstrated to be powerful in deciding and anticipating an enormous measure of information created by the health domain. We provide a unique method for finding essential traits employing machine learning approaches in this paper, which enhances the effectiveness of identifying heart diseases. Decision tree (DT), support vector machine (SVM), artificial neural network (ANN), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) are the classification techniques used to create the proposed system. Ensemble stacking integrates the four classification models to create a single best-fit predictive model using logistic regression. Many explorations have been directed at the identification of cardiac infection; however, the exactness of the outcomes is poor. Accordingly, to further enhance the efficiency, Moth-Flame Optimization (MFO) algorithm is proposed. The feature selection strategies are used to improve the classification accuracy while shortening the execution time of the classification system. Medical data are used to assess the probability of heart disease based on BP, age, gender, chest ache, cholesterol, blood sugar, and other variables. Accurate identification of lithology is the basis and key process of fine logging interpretation and evaluation. However, reservoirs formed by different sedimentary environments and tectonic movements generally have the characteristics of complex and diverse lithology and strong heterogeneity, which brings great difficulty to the identification of reservoir lithology. This paper proposes an automatic identification technology for lithology logging based on the GWO-SVM algorithm model. The technology is actually applied, and the results are compared with the results of the support vector machine cross-validation optimization model, PNN (probabilistic neural network) model, and ELM (extreme learning machine) model. In the farming industry, the Internet of Things (IoT) is crucial for boosting utility. Innovative agriculture practices and medical informatics have the potential to increase crop yield while using the same amount of input. Individuals can benefit from the Internet of Things in various ways. The intelligent farms require the creation of an IoT-based infrastructure based on sensors, actuators, embedded systems, and a network connection. The agriculture sector will gain new advantages from machine learning and IoT data analytics in terms of improving crop output quantity and quality to fulfill rising food demand. This paper described an intelligent medical informatics farming system with predictive data analytics on sensing parameters, utilizing a supervised machine learning approach in an intelligent agricultural system. The four essential components of the proposed approach are the cloud layer, fog layer, edge layer, and sensor layer. The primary goal is to enhance production and provide organic farming by adjusting farming conditions as per plant needs that are considered in experimentation. The use of machine learning on acquired sensor data from a prototype embedded model is investigated for regulating the actuators in the system. Then, an analytics and decision-making system was built at the fog layer, employing two supervised machine learning approaches including classification and regression algorithms using a support vector machine (SVM) and artificial neural network (ANN) for effective computation over the cloud layer. Historic and protected buildings are increasingly valued due to their valuable historical and cultural value. The assessment of the safety state of historic buildings has received more attention. Emerging machine learning algorithms, with their excellent computational performance, provide new ideas and new means to solve practical problems in various fields. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for assessing the safety state of historic buildings based on machine learning techniques. Firstly, based on the analysis of the characteristics of historical buildings and common security problems, the application of wireless sensor networks to the security monitoring of historical buildings is proposed in order to improve the automation of monitoring. Then, in order to improve the accuracy of the assessment, a combination of kernel canonical correlation analysis (KCCA) and support vector machine (SVM) is used to establish the security monitoring model. The experimental results show that by choosing a suitable KCCA function, the redundant features of the data can be reduced while the comprehensiveness of the building structure identification features can be retained, thus effectively improving the prediction accuracy of the SVM. The deep learning methods for various disease prediction tasks have become very effective and even surpass human experts. However, the lack of interpretability and medical expertise limits its clinical application. This paper combines knowledge representation learning and deep learning methods, and a disease prediction model is constructed. The model initially constructs the relationship graph between the physical indicator and the test value based on the normal range of human physical examination index. And the human physical examination index for testing value by knowledge representation learning model is encoded. Then, the patient physical examination data is represented as a vector and input into a deep learning model built with self-attention mechanism and convolutional neural network to implement disease prediction. The experimental results show that the model which is used in diabetes prediction yields an accuracy of 97.18% and the recall of 87.55%, which outperforms other machine learning methods (e.g., lasso, ridge, support vector machine, random forest, and XGBoost). Compared with the best performing random forest method, the recall is increased by 5.34%, respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of medical knowledge into deep learning through knowledge representation learning can be used in diabetes prediction for the purpose of early detection and assisting diagnosis. Objective. Internet of Things (IoT) integrates several technologies where devices learn from the experience of each other thereby reducing human-intervened likely errors. Modern technologies like IoT and machine learning enable the conventional to patient-specific approach transition in healthcare. In conventional approach, the biggest challenge faced by healthcare professionals is to predict a disease by observing the symptoms, monitoring the remote area patient, and also attending to the patient all the time after being hospitalised. IoT provides real-time data, makes decision-making smarter, and provides far superior analytics, and all these to help improve the quality of healthcare. The main objective of the work was to create an IoT-based automated system using machine learning models for symptom-based COVID-19 prognosis. Methods. Comparative analysis of predictive microbiology of COVID-19 from case symptoms using various machine learning classifiers like logistics regression, k-nearest neighbor, support vector machine, random forest, decision trees, Naïve Bayes, and gradient booster is reported here. For the sake of the validation and verification of the models, performance of each model based on the retrieved cloud-stored data was measured for accuracy. Results. From the accuracy plot, it was concluded that k-NN was more accurate (97.97%) followed by decision tree (97.79), support vector machine (97.42), logistics regression (96.50), random forest (90.66), gradient boosting classifier (87.77), and Naïve Bayes (73.50) in COVID-19 prognosis. Churn rate describes the rate at which customers abandon a product or service. Identifying churn-risk customers is essential for telecom sectors to retain old customers and maintain a higher competitive advantage. The purpose of this paper is to explore an effective method for detecting the risk of customer churn in telecom sectors through comparing the advanced machine learning methods and their optimization algorithms. Based on two different telecom datasets, Mutual Information classifier was firstly utilized to select the most critical features relevant to customer churn. Next, the controlled-ratio undersampling strategy was employed to balance both minority and majority classes. Key hyperparameter optimization algorithms of Grid Search, Random Search, and Genetic Algorithms were then combined to fit the three promising machine learning models-Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, and K-nearest neighbors into the customer churn prediction problem. Six evaluation metrics-Accuracy, Recall, Precision, AUC, F1-score and Mean Absolute Error, were last used to evaluate the performance of the proposed models. The experimental results have revealed that the RF algorithm optimized by Grid Search based on a low-ratio undersampling strategy (RF-GS-LR) outperformed other models in extracting hidden information and understanding future churning behaviors of customers on both datasets, with the maximum accuracy of 99% and 95% on the applied dataset 1-2 respectively. From simple commercial relations to complex online transactions at this stage, it not only highlights the progress of science and technology, but also indirectly explains the diversified evolution of marketing methods and means. In marketing, database marketing has been favored by more marketers with its low cost and high efficiency and has become the "rookie" in marketing in recent years. However, as a kind of prediction and ferry, database marketing tends to be applied after simple data analysis in unpredictable market and in practice. In contrast, database marketing combined with machine learning algorithms has always been a depression in the marketing field. Therefore, this paper takes e-commerce as the research object and carries out database marketing research based on machine learning algorithm from four stages: theoretical preparation, status analysis, model construction, and results application. Firstly, the connotation, advantages, and specific operation procedures of database marketing are discussed. At the same time, four excellent machine learning algorithms including logistic regression, random forest, support vector machine, and gradient boosted decision tree (GBDT) are selected to explain the basic principles and algorithm introduction, respectively, laying a theoretical foundation for the model training chapter. Secondly, it analyzes the current situation of e-commerce from the distribution of marketing objects, the proportion of marketing channels, and the composition of marketing methods and finds new marketing ideas based on the main problems existing at the present stage of database marketing using machine learning algorithm. Thirdly, on the premise of marketing ideas, data acquisition, data processing, and positive and negative sample setting. The median grain size of rock is the main basis for the identification of sedimentary facies, and the variation of the median grain size of rock can be used to obtain the stratum sedimentary rhythm and thus to classify the flow unit. Therefore, the median grain size of rock is an extremely important parameter for reservoir evaluation. However, there is no petrophysical method that can directly evaluate the median grain size of rock in the logging data. The predecessors used natural gamma logging data to calculate the median rock grain size (Md) based on linear and statistical analysis for medium-high porosity and permeability sandstone reservoirs work. However, for low-permeability sandstone reservoirs, the error in the fitted median grain size of rock using linear multiple regression methods is too large for the calculated results to be applied. Therefore, the calculation of the median grain size of low-permeability sandstone reservoirs is a difficult problem to be solved. In this paper, the sensitivity logging parameters of median rock grain size are optimized for low permeability sandstone reservoirs using principal component analysis obtained the grain size direction correlation curves (DEN, CNL,GR, and RD) in the study area, and the corresponding loss and activation functions are selected based on the learning characteristics of the nonlinear mapping of the logging data and the BP neural network to ensure that overfitting occurs. The best model was obtained by using decision tree, support vector machine, shallow and deep neural networks to model the median rock grain size and predict neighboring wells, and a comparative analysis showed that for the problem of predicting the median rock grain size in low-permeability sandstone reservoirs, the deep neural network improved significantly over the shallow one and was much stronger than other machine learning methods. The best model obtained a coefficient of determination ( R 2 ) of 0.9831. Machine learning of median grain size from conventional logging data was systematically carried out through conventional logging sensitivity curve optimization, algorithm modeling, network parameter optimization, median grain size prediction, and validation, and the relative error in its quantitative prediction met application requirements. This method takes into account the nonlinear mapping relationship between the logging data and the fitting of small sample data and provides a systematic way of thinking for the logging curve to predict the grain size of low-permeability sandstone. Prediction of tunnel surrounding rock deformation is important for tunnel construction safety evaluation. In this paper, machine learning algorithms are used to carry out a comparative study of the surrounding rock deformation prediction. The applications of Gaussian process regression (GPR), support vector machine (SVM), and long short-term memory network (LSTM) in the prediction of surrounding rock deformation sequences are compared and analyzed. The actual data of a diversion tunnel in a southwest region are used as an example to evaluate and compare the single-step prediction model and multistep prediction model established by the above algorithm. The results show that the machine learning algorithm has good operation effect on the prediction of surrounding rock deformation. This paper aims to explore the Painting Classification in art teaching under Machine Learning. Based on Emotional Semantics and Machine Learning, the Emotional Semantics of the traditional image are expounded. Firstly, Emotional Semantics are applied to figure painting in art teaching. Then, the convolutional sparse automatic encoder model is introduced in Painting Classification. Finally, the accuracies of the Painting Classification of the Support Vector Machine classifier (SVMC) and that of the Naive Bayes classifier are compared, and the relevant conclusions are drawn. The accuracy of Painting Classification is positively correlated with the scale of painting. After analysis, the painting set is classified in a ratio of 2 : 1, with 2/3 as training set and 1/3 as test set, which is conducive to the good accuracy of classification. In Machine Learning, proper whitening can improve the accuracy of Painting Classification to a certain extent. However, when the whitening treatment coefficient is selected, it cannot be too large, and the average pooling is more accurate than maximum pooling. After the comparison of the new SVMC, the Naive Bayes classifier, and the convolutional sparse automatic encoder, the convolutional sparse automatic encoder has the highest accuracy of Painting Classification. Brain tumors are difficult to treat and cause substantial fatalities worldwide. Medical professionals visually analyze the images and mark out the tumor regions to identify brain tumors, which is time-consuming and prone to error. Researchers have proposed automated methods in recent years to detect brain tumors early. These approaches, however, encounter difficulties due to their low accuracy and large false-positive values. An efficient tumor identification and classification approach is required to extract robust features and perform accurate disease classification. This paper proposes a novel multiclass brain tumor classification method based on deep feature fusion. The MR images are preprocessed using min-max normalization, and then extensive data augmentation is applied to MR images to overcome the lack of data problem. The deep CNN features obtained from transfer learned architectures such as AlexNet, GoogLeNet, and ResNet18 are fused to build a single feature vector and then loaded into Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) to predict the final output. The novel feature vector contains more information than the independent vectors, boosting the proposed method's classification performance. The proposed framework is trained and evaluated on 15,320 Magnetic Resonance Images (MRIs). The study shows that the fused feature vector performs better than the individual vectors. Moreover, the proposed technique performed better than the existing systems and achieved accuracy of 99.7%; hence, it can be used in clinical setup to classify brain tumors from MRIs. Breast cancer is a dangerous disease with a high morbidity and mortality rate. One of the most important aspects in breast cancer treatment is getting an accurate diagnosis. Machine-learning (ML) and deep learning techniques can help doctors in making diagnosis decisions. This paper proposed the optimized deep recurrent neural network (RNN) model based on RNN and the Keras–Tuner optimization technique for breast cancer diagnosis. The optimized deep RNN consists of the input layer, five hidden layers, five dropout layers, and the output layer. In each hidden layer, we optimized the number of neurons and rate values of the dropout layer. Three feature-selection methods have been used to select the most important features from the database. Five regular ML models, namely decision tree (DT), support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), naive Bayes (NB), and K-nearest neighbor algorithm (KNN) were compared with the optimized deep RNN. The regular ML models and the optimized deep RNN have been applied the selected features. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a widespread disease among people. It is related to various serious risks like cardiovascular disease, heightened risk, and end-stage renal disease, which can be feasibly avoidable by early detection and treatment of people in danger of this disease. The machine learning algorithm is a source of significant assistance for medical scientists to diagnose the disease accurately in its outset stage. Recently, Big Data platforms are integrated with machine learning algorithms to add value to healthcare. Therefore, this paper proposes hybrid machine learning techniques that include feature selection methods and machine learning classification algorithms based on big data platforms (Apache Spark) that were used to detect chronic kidney disease (CKD). The feature selection techniques, namely, Relief-F and chi-squared feature selection method, were applied to select the important features. Six machine learning classification algorithms were used in this research: decision tree (DT), logistic regression (LR), Naive Bayes (NB), Random Forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), and Gradient-Boosted Trees (GBT Classifier) as ensemble learning algorithms. Four methods of evaluation, namely, accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-measure, were applied to validate the results. For each algorithm, the results of cross-validation and the testing results have been computed based on full features, the features selected by Relief-F, and the features selected by chi-squared feature selection method. The results showed that SVM, DT, and GBT Classifiers with the selected features had achieved the best performance at 100% accuracy. Emotion recognition is one of the trending research fields. It is involved in several applications. Its most interesting applications include robotic vision and interactive robotic communication. Human emotions can be detected using both speech and visual modalities. Facial expressions can be considered as ideal means for detecting the persons' emotions. This paper presents a real-time approach for implementing emotion detection and deploying it in the robotic vision applications. The proposed approach consists of four phases: preprocessing, key point generation, key point selection and angular encoding, and classification. The main idea is to generate key points using MediaPipe face mesh algorithm, which is based on real-time deep learning. In addition, the generated key points are encoded using a sequence of carefully designed mesh generator and angular encoding modules. Furthermore, feature decomposition is performed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). This phase is deployed to enhance the accuracy of emotion detection. Finally, the decomposed features are enrolled into a Machine Learning (ML) technique that depends on a Support Vector Machine (SVM), k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Naïve Bayes (NB), Logistic Regression (LR), or Random Forest (RF) classifier. Moreover, we deploy a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) as an efficient deep neural network technique. The presented techniques are evaluated on different datasets with different evaluation metrics. The main aim of this work is the determination of aromaticity in biochar from easier accessible parameters (e.g., elemental composition). To this end, two machine learning models, including adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and least-squares support vector machine (LSSVM), were used to predict this constant form 98 dataset gathered from earlier reported sources. The outputs of the statistical parameters showed that the LSSVM model has the ability to estimate the target parameter with R-squared values of 0.986 and a mean relative error of 3.821 for the overall dataset. Also, by analyzing the sensitivity on the input parameters, it was shown that the carbon percentage has the greatest effect on the target values, and a high focus should be placed on this parameter. Finally, by comparing the methods proposed in this paper with other models published in previous studies, our model has shown higher accuracy in predicting the target parameter. Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is one of the major health issues known to society and has a higher mortality rate. The clinical factors with computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance image (MRI), and electroencephalography (EEG) data were used to evaluate the performance of the developed method. In this paper, various methods such as statistical analysis, logistic regression, machine learning, and deep learning methods were used in the prediction and detection of SAH which are reviewed. The advantages and limitations of SAH prediction and risk assessment methods are also being reviewed. Most of the existing methods were evaluated on the collected dataset for the SAH prediction. In some researches, deep learning methods were applied, which resulted in higher performance in the prediction process. EEG data were applied in the existing methods for the prediction process, and these methods demonstrated higher performance. Aiming at the influence of different working conditions on recognition accuracy in remote sensing image recognition, this paper adopts hierarchical strategy to construct a network. Firstly, in order to establish the classification relationship between different samples, labeled samples are used for classification. A Logistic-T-distribution-Sparrow Search Algorithm-Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LOG-T-SSA-LSSVM) classification network is proposed. LOG-T-SSA algorithm is used to optimize parameters in LSSVM to establish a better network to achieve accurate classification between sample sets and then identify according to different categories. Through UCI dataset test, the accuracy of LOG-T-SSA-LSSVM network classification is significantly improved compared with that of contrast network. The autoencoder is integrated with Extreme Learning Machine, and the autoencoder is used to realize data compression. The advantages of Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) network, such as less training parameters, fast learning speed, and strong generalization ability, are fully utilized to realize efficient and supervised recognition. Experiments verify that the autoencoder-extreme learning machine (AE-ELM) network has a good recognition effect when the sigmoid activation function is selected and the number of hidden layer neurons are 2000. Finally, after image recognition under different working conditions, it is proved that the recognition accuracy of AE-ELM based on LOG-T-SSA-LSSVM classification is significantly improved compared with traditional ELM network and Particle Swarm Optimization-Extreme Learning Machine (PSO-ELM) network. The diagnosis of new diseases is a challenging problem. In the early stage of the emergence of new diseases, there are few case samples; this may lead to the low accuracy of intelligent diagnosis. Because of the advantages of support vector machine (SVM) in dealing with small sample problems, it is selected for the intelligent diagnosis method. The standard SVM diagnosis model updating needs to retrain all samples. It costs huge storage and calculation costs and is difficult to adapt to the changing reality. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a new disease diagnosis method based on Fuzzy SVM incremental learning. According to SVM theory, the support vector set and boundary sample set related to the SVM diagnosis model are extracted. Only these sample sets are considered in incremental learning to ensure the accuracy and reduce the cost of calculation and storage. To reduce the impact of noise points caused by the reduction of training samples, FSVM is used to update the diagnosis model, and the generalization is improved. The simulation results on the banana dataset show that the proposed method can improve the classification accuracy from 86.4% to 90.4%. Finally, the method is applied in COVID-19's diagnostic. The diagnostic accuracy reaches 98.2% as the traditional SVM only gets 84%. With the increase of the number of case samples, the model is updated. Short-term prediction of traffic variables aims at providing information for travelers before commencing their trips. In this paper, machine learning methods consisting of long short-term memory (LSTM), random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) are employed to predict traffic state, categorized into A to C for segments of a rural road network. Since the temporal variation of rural road traffic is irregular, the performance of applied algorithms varies among different time intervals. To find the most precise prediction for each time interval for segments, several ensemble methods, including voting methods and ordinal logit (OL) model, are utilized to ensemble predictions of four machine learning algorithms. The Karaj-Chalus rural road traffic data was used as a case study to show how to implement it. As there are many influential features on traffic state, the genetic algorithm (GA) has been used to identify 25 of 32 features, which are the most influential on models' fitness. Results show that the OL model as an ensemble learning model outperforms machine learning models, and its accuracy is equal to 80.03 percent. How to choose suppliers scientifically is an important part of strategic decision-making management of enterprises. Expert evaluation is subjective and uncontrollable; sometimes, there exists biased evaluation, which will lead to controversial or unfair results in supplier selection. To tackle this problem, this paper proposes a novel method that employs machine learning to learn the credibility of expert from historical data, which is converted to weights in evaluation process. We first use the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier to classify the historical evaluation data of experts and calculate the experts' evaluation credibility, then determine the weights of the evaluation experts, finally assemble the weighted evaluation results, and get a preference order of choosing suppliers. The main contribution of this method is that it overcomes the shortcomings of multiple conversions and large loss on evaluation information, maintains the initial evaluation information to the maximum extent, and improves the credibility of evaluation results and the fairness and scientificity of supplier selection. The results show that it is feasible to classify the past evaluation data of the evaluation experts by the SVM classification model, and the expert weights determined on the basis of the evaluation credibility of experts are adjustable. Public health and its related facilities are crucial for thriving cities and societies. The optimum utilization of health resources saves money and time, but above all, it saves precious lives. It has become even more evident in the present as the pandemic has overstretched the existing medical resources. Specific to patient appointment scheduling, the casual attitude of missing medical appointments (no-show-ups) may cause severe damage to a patient's health. In this paper, with the help of machine learning, we analyze six million plus patient appointment records to predict a patient's behaviors/characteristics by using ten different machine learning algorithms. For this purpose, we first extracted meaningful features from raw data using data cleaning. We applied Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE), Adaptive Synthetic Sampling Method (Adasyn), and random undersampling (RUS) to balance our data. After balancing, we applied ten different machine learning algorithms, namely, random forest classifier, decision tree, logistic regression, XG Boost, gradient boosting, Adaboost Classifier, Naive Bayes, stochastic gradient descent, multilayer perceptron, and Support Vector Machine. We analyzed these results with the help of six different metrics, i.e., recall, accuracy, precision, F1-score, area under the curve, and mean square error. Our study has achieved 94% recall, 86% accuracy, 83% precision, 87% F1-score, 92% area under the curve, and 0.106 minimum mean square error. Effectiveness of presented data cleaning and feature selection is confirmed by better results in all training algorithms. Notably, recall is greater than 75%, accuracy is greater than 73%, F1-score is more significant than 75%, MSE is lesser than 0.26, and AUC is greater than 74%. Early detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression is crucial for proper disease management. Most studies concentrate on neuroimaging data analysis of baseline visits only. They ignore the fact that AD is a chronic disease and patient's data are naturally longitudinal. In addition, there are no studies that examine the effect of dementia medicines on the behavior of the disease. In this paper, we propose a machine learning-based architecture for early progression detection of AD based on multimodal data of AD drugs and cognitive scores data. We compare the performance of five popular machine learning techniques including support vector machine, random forest, logistic regression, decision tree, and K-nearest neighbor to predict AD progression after 2.5 years. Extensive experiments are performed using an ADNI dataset of 1036 subjects. The cross-validation performance of most algorithms has been improved by fusing the drugs and cognitive scores data. Unconventional resources have recently gained a lot of attention, and as a consequence, there has been an increase in research interest in predicting total organic carbon (TOC) as a crucial quality indicator. TOC is commonly measured experimentally; however, due to sampling restrictions, obtaining continuous data on TOC is difficult. Therefore, different empirical correlations for TOC have been presented. However, there are concerns about the generalization and accuracy of these correlations. In this paper, different machine learning (ML) techniques were utilized to develop models that predict TOC from well logs, including formation resistivity (FR), spontaneous potential (SP), sonic transit time (Δt), bulk density (RHOB), neutron porosity (CNP), gamma ray (GR), and spectrum logs of thorium (Th), uranium (Ur), and potassium (K). Over 1250 data points from the Devonian Duvernay shale were utilized to create and validate the model. These datasets were obtained from three wells; the first was used to train the models, while the data sets from the other two wells were utilized to test and validate them. Support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), and decision tree (DT) were the ML approaches tested, and their predictions were contrasted with three empirical correlations. Various AI methods' parameters were tested to assure the best possible accuracy in terms of correlation coefficient (R) and average absolute percentage error (AAPE) between the actual and predicted TOC. The three ML methods yielded good matches; however, the RF-based model has the best performance. The RF model was able to predict the TOC for the different datasets with R values range between 0.93 and 0.99 and AAPE values less than 14%. For decades, machine learning techniques have been used to process Amharic texts. The potential application of deep learning on Amharic document classification has not been exploited due to a lack of language resources. In this paper, we present a deep learning model for Amharic news document classification. The proposed model uses fastText to generate text vectors to represent semantic meaning of texts and solve the problem of traditional methods. The text vectors matrix is then fed into the embedding layer of a convolutional neural network (CNN), which automatically extracts features. We conduct experiments on a data set with six news categories, and our approach produced a classification accuracy of 93.79%. We compared our method to well-known machine learning algorithms such as support vector machine (SVM), multilayer perceptron (MLP), decision tree (DT), XGBoost (XGB), and random forest (RF) and achieved good results. This paper presents a method for pixel-wise classification applied for the first time on hippocampus histological images. The goal is achieved by representing pixels in a 14-D vector, composed of grey-level information and moment invariants. Then, several popular machine learning models are used to categorize them, and multiple metrics are computed to evaluate the performance of the different models. The multilayer perceptron, random forest, support vector machine, and radial basis function networks were compared, achieving the multilayer perceptron model the highest result on accuracy metric, AUC, and F 1 score with highly satisfactory results for substituting a manual classification task, due to an expert opinion in the hippocampus histological images. Accuracy is a key index of human gait recognition. In this paper, we propose an improved gait recognition algorithm, which combines multiple feature combination and artificial bee colony for optimizing the support vector machine (ABC-SVM). Firstly, considering the complexity characteristics of surface electromyography (sEMG) signals, four types of features are extracted from the denoised sEMG signals, including the time-domain features of integral of absolute value (IAV), variance (VAR), and number of zero-crossing (ZC) points, frequency-domain features of mean power frequency (MPF) and median frequency (MF), and wavelet features and fuzzy entropy features. Secondly, the classifiers of SVM, linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and extreme learning machine (ELM) are employed to recognize the gait with obtained features, including singe-class features, multiple combination features, and optimized features of dimension reduction by principal component analysis (PCA). Thirdly, the penalty coefficient and kernel function parameter of the SVM classifier are optimized by the ABC algorithm, and the influence of different features and classifiers on the recognition results is studied. Finally, the feature samples selected to construct the SVM classifier are trained and recognized. Results show that the classification performance of the ABC-SVM classifier is significantly better than that of the nonoptimized SVM classifier, and the average recognition rate is increased by 3.18%. In addition, the combined feature samples (time-domain, frequency-domain, wavelet, and fuzzy entropy features) not only improve the gait classification accuracy but also enhance the recognition stability.
