What Is Known and Objective: The present study compared the efficacy and safety of low‐dose febuxostat versus allopurinol in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients complicated with hyperuricemia (HUA). Methods: In this double‐centre, randomized, controlled study, 120 CKD patients complicated with HUA were recruited and randomly assigned to low‐dose febuxostat group (20 mg/day) or allopurinol group (200 mg/day) at 1:1 ratio. The serum creatinine (Scr), serum uric acid (SUA), and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were measured at baseline (M0), month (M) 1, M3, and M6. Besides, the drug‐related adverse events (AEs) were recorded. The primary outcome was the proportion of patients showing a > 10% decline in eGFR from M0 to M6. Results: The eGFR level was increased at M6, but similar at M0, M1 and M3 in febuxostat group compared with allopurinol group. Notably, the proportion of patients with >10% decline in eGFR from M0 to M6 was decreased in febuxostat group compared with allopurinol group. However, there was no difference of Scr, SUA at M0, M1, M3 and M6 between febuxostat group and allopurinol group. Moreover, there was no difference of drug‐related AEs between febuxostat group and allopurinol group. Further subgroup analysis exhibited that low‐dose febuxostat presented superior effect on attenuating eGFR decline and lowering SUA level compared with allopurinol in CKD stage 3 subgroup, but not in CKD stage 2 subgroup. Conclusion: Low‐dose febuxostat may exhibit a superior renal‐protective effect, non‐inferior SUA lowering ability and safety profile compared with allopurinol in CKD patients complicated with HUA. Objective: Evidence demonstrates that the immune microenvironment is extensively associated with chemotherapy response of ovarian cancer (OV). Herein, this study is aimed at establishing a cisplatin response prediction model for OV on the basis of immune genes.Methods: The expression profiles of cisplatin-sensitive and cisplatin-resistant OV specimens were integrated from multiple public datasets. The abundance scores of 22 immune cells were estimated with CIBERSORT algorithm. Differentially expressed immune genes (DEGs) were determined between cisplatin-sensitive and cisplatin-resistant groups. Thereafter, a cisplatin response model was constructed based on prognostic DEGs with logistic regression analysis. The prediction performance was validated in independent cohorts. The possible relationships between the model and immunotherapy were then assessed.Results: Treg scores were significantly decreased in cisplatin-resistant than cisplatin-sensitive OV specimens, with the opposite results for naïve B cells and activated dendritic cells. Fourteen prognostic DEGs were identified and used to develop a cisplatin-response model. The response scores, estimated by the model, showed favorable performance in discriminating cisplatin-response and nonresponse samples. The response scores also presented significantly negative correlations with three well-known cisplatin-resistant pathways and a positive correlation with the expression of CD274 (PD-L1). Moreover, the decreased CD27 expression was observed in cisplatin-resistant groups, and OV specimens with higher CD27 expressions were more sensitive to cisplatin treatment.Conclusion: Altogether, our findings proposed a cisplatin response prediction model and identified CD27 that might be involved in cisplatin resistance. Although, acupoint specificity is regarded as the core of scientific issues in electroacupuncture (EA), the difference of EA on treating functional dyspepsia (FD) at different acupoints is unclear. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the different therapeutic effects of EA at lower extremity or abdominal acupoints on the mucosal integrity and lower-inflammatory response in FD. The intragastric administration of iodoacetamide (IA) was performed in 48 rats to establish the FD model. These rats were randomly divided into the control group, the model group and the six EA groups receiving stimulation at the lower extremity (ST36, ST37, and ST39) or abdominal acupoints (ST25, CV4, and CV12) separately. The open-field test (OFT) was measured after 8 weeks of IA, and gastric emptying was evaluated after 10 days of the EA treatment. The local inflammation markers of CD45, eosinophil major basic protein (EMBP), and the tight junction proteins ZO1 and Claudin3 were assessed by immunofluorescence in all groups. Western blot analysis showed that the EMBP and Occludin1 levels in the duodenal. EA at lower extremity acupoint ST36 could improve the gastric emptying. EA at lower extremity acupoints reduced the immunoreactivity of EMBP, but the CD45 was reregulated by the ST37 and ST39 acupoints. The lower extremity acupoints also ameliorated FD-tight junction protein in the expression of Claudin3 and ZO1. However, only the ST36 suppressed the expression of EMBP and recovered the expression of Occludin1. Similarly, the effect of EA at abdominal acupoints was not obvious either in facilitating gastric motility or in improving inflammatory and mucosal injury. EA at lower extremity and abdominal acupoints with the same stimulation parameters had different therapeutic effects in gastric emptying, intestinal mucosal integrity, and inflammation response, thus proving the specificity of acupoints. Background. Postprandial distress syndrome (PDS) is accompanied by a high incidence of mood disorder. Acupuncture is an effective method in relieving dyspepsia symptoms; however, the impact of psychological status on acupuncture for PDS remains mysterious. Methods. This secondary analysis of a multicenter, randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the influence of anxiety and depression on acupuncture for PDS. 138 patients received the same acupuncture treatment and were followed up until week 16. The 2 primary outcomes were the response rate based on overall treatment effect and the elimination rate of all 3 cardinal symptoms after 4 weeks of treatment. Results. Of 114 patients, 31 were anxiety patients and 83 were nonanxiety patients or 32 were depressive patients and 82 were nondepressive patients. The response rate and elimination rate at week 4 were 77.4% and 9.7% in anxiety patients versus 84.3% and 27.7% in nonanxiety patients, respectively (P = 0.388; P = 0.041). No significant difference was noted in the response rate (P = 0.552) and elimination rate (P = 0.254) at week 4 between nondepressive and depressive patients. There was no significant intergroup difference in the response rate and elimination rate between non-mood-disorder and mood disorder patients (P > 0.05) during the 12-week post-treatment follow-up, except for the response rate at week 8 (P < 0.05). Conclusion. The effect of acupuncture on response rate was similar for both non-mood-disorder and mood disorder patients. Synthetic aperture Radar (SAR) uses the relative movement of the Radar and the target to pick up echoes of the detected area and image it. In contrast to optical imaging, SAR imaging systems are not affected by weather and time and can detect targets in harsh conditions. Therefore, the SAR image has important application value in military and civilian purposes. This paper introduces the classification of Gaussian process. Gaussian process classification is a probabilistic classification algorithm based on Bass frame. This is a complete probability expression. Based on Gaussian process and SAR data, Gaussian process classification algorithm for SAR images is studied in this paper. In this paper, we introduce the basic principle of Gaussian process, briefly analyze the basic theory of classification and the characteristics of SAR images, provide the evaluation index system of image classification, and give the SAR classification model of Gaussian process. Taking Laplace approximation as an example, several classification algorithms are introduced directly. Based on the two classifications, we propose an indirect multipurpose classification method and a multifunction classification method for two-pair two-Gaussian processes. Background. Sympathetic activation leads to elevated blood pressure. Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) inhibits sympathetic nervous system activity, thereby decreasing blood pressure (BP). nNOS is highly expressed in the arcuate nucleus (ARC) and ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (vlPAG), which play essential roles in the regulation of the cardiovascular and sympathetic nervous systems. Objective. This study was designed to verify the hypothesis that acupuncture exerts an antihypertensive effect via increasing the expression of nNOS in ARC and vlPAG of spontaneously hypertensive (SHR) rats. Methods. Rats without anesthesia were subject to daily acupuncture for 2 weeks. BP was monitored by the tail-cuff method. nNOS expressions in the ARC and vlPAG were detected by western blot and immunofluorescence. BP was measured after 7-Nitroindazole (7-NI), a specific nNOS inhibitor, was microinjected into ARC or vlPAG in SHR rats treated with acupuncture. Results. Acupuncture for 14 days significantly attenuated BP, and the Taichong (LR3) acupoint was superior to Zusanli (ST36) and Fengchi (GB20) in lowering BP. In addition, acupuncture at Taichong (LR3) induced an increase of nNOS expression in ARC and vlPAG, whereas microinjection of 7-NI into ARC or vlPAG reversed the antihypertensive effect of acupuncture. Conclusions. This study indicates that acupuncture at Taichong (LR3) induces a better antihypertensive effect than at Zusanli (ST36) or at Fengchi (GB20) in SHR rats, and enhancement of nNOS in ARC and vlPAG probably contributes to the antihypertensive effect of acupuncture. To accurately assess the state of a generator in wind turbines and find abnormalities in time, the method based on improved random forest (IRF) is proposed. The balancing strategy that is a combination of oversampling technique (SMOTE) and undersampling is applied for imbalanced data. Bootstrap is applied to resample original data sets of generator side from the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, and decision trees are generated. After the decision trees with different classification capabilities are weighted, an IRF model is established. The accuracy and performance of the model are based on 10-fold cross-validation and confusion matrix. The 60 testing sets are assessed, and the accuracy is 95.67%. It is more than 1.67% higher than traditional classifiers. The probabilities of 60 data sets at each class are calculated, and the corresponding state class is determined. The results show that the proposed IRF has higher accuracy, and the state can be assessed effectively. The method has a good application prospect in the state assessment of wind power equipment. Thresholding is an efficient step to extract quantitative information since the potential artefacts are often introduced by the point-spread effect of tomographic imaging. The thresholding value was previously selected only relying on engineering experience or histogram of tomographic image, which often presents a great challenge to determine an accurate thresholding value for various applications. As the tomographic image features often do not provide sufficient information to choose the best thresholding value, the information implicit in the measured boundary data is introduced into the thresholding process in this paper. A projection error, the relative difference between the computed boundary data of current segmentation and the measured boundary data, is proposed as a quantitative measure of such image segmentation quality. Then, a new multistep image segmentation process, called size projection algorithm (SPA), is proposed to automatically determine an optimal thresholding value by minimising the projection error. Results of simulation and experiment demonstrate the improved performance of the SPA-based tomographic image segmentation. Cutting mixed oil in product pipelines has a great influence on the economy of the pipeline operation processes. The reasonable prediction of CDMS (the concentration distribution in the mixed segment) is important for cutting mixed segments. The classical model cannot explain the tailing phenomenon well which should not be neglected during operation processes. Based on Fick's diffusion law, a new model for calculating the diffusion coefficient is proposed in this article, which originates from the essence of the diffusion phenomenon and considers the effects of both physical properties of oil products and the turbulence. At the same time, the dynamic fluid equilibrium model of CDMS near the pipe wall is given which has considered the adsorption effect of wall roughness. Based on these two factors, a novel numerical model for simulating the quantity of tailing oil is proposed, which is solved via the characteristic method and the finite difference method. The effects of different physical properties, as well as the adsorption, on both LFMS (the length of the front of the mixed segment) and LTMS (the length of the tail of the mixed segment), are analyzed. The comparison between the simulation results and the experimental data is utilized to validate the proposed numerical model. The simulation results show that the novel model can well describe the mixed segment tailing phenomenon and also explain the mixing essence of two miscible but dissimilar fluids in the pipeline more clearly. To sum up, this model can provide theoretical guidance for the prediction of CDMS and cutting process in practical operation processes; therefore, more economic benefit can be obtained. Chinese heritage timber buildings are of high historical and cultural values. The column footing joint is an important connection influencing the structural performance under dynamic load. The moment-rotation relationship of a column footing joint is studied and the effects of vertical load and ratio of column height to diameter on its rotational behavior are analyzed. A spring elements model is proposed to simulate the column footing joint and its stiffness matrix can be simplified to include only one stiffness parameter K with some assumptions. A component-based finite-element model of a timber pavilion is then developed to investigate the effect of rotational stiffness on the structural dynamic characteristics. Results show that a heavier vertical load may lead to larger ultimate moment capacity of the joint. The initial rotational stiffness and ultimate moment capacity decrease with increasing column height to diameter ratio. The modal frequency of the structure studied changes remarkably when the rotational stiffness K varies from 104 to 108 N▪m/rad. The column footing joints should be regarded as semirigid connections in the structural dynamic analysis. A field experiment was also conducted to further demonstrate that the rotational stiffness of column footing joint has notable influence on the dynamic characteristics of traditional Chinese timber structure. Abstract: Germinated adlay has gained considerable research attentions due to its improved texture and larger amounts of secondary metabolites than raw adlay. This study aimed to investigate the effect of acids pretreatments on the physicochemical and antioxidant properties of germinated adlay. Germination whether with or without acid pretreatment showed no significant effect on the Fourier transform‐infrared spectra and X‐ray diffraction patterns. However, acid pretreatment lowered the degradation of adlay storage protein and starch during the germination process. Citric acid pretreatment resulted an increase in the free amino acid content. The acid‐pretreated germinated adlay flour, especially the lactic acid‐pretreated, exhibited higher pasting viscosity than the control. Furthermore, pretreatment with citric acid significantly increased the phenolic (18.3%) and flavonoid (17.0%) contents as well as the antioxidant activity (39.1%) compared with the control, while lactic acid pretreatment significantly decreased these parameters by 14.9, 9.0, and 16.8%, respectively. Practical applications: Germination has been recognized as a cheap and efficient technology for improving the nutritional value and physicochemical property of adlay. Cereal grains demonstrate several types of physiological and biochemical responses toward environment stress, and some acids at the right concentrations are reported to enhance the germination. This study evaluated the effects of 1% (wt/vol) citric and lactic acids pretreatments on the physicochemical and antioxidant properties of germinated adlay. Based on long-term rainfall measurements (1956–2012), water level records (1956–2006), and aquatic plants field survey data (1960–2014), the relationship between precipitation and aquatic vegetation succession in east Taihu Lake, China, is studied. Neither abrupt changes nor any trends were found in the annual rainfall series in Taihu Lake during the studied period (1956–2012). However, for seasonal variations, statistically significant decreases are found in spring and autumn, while the rainfall in winter exhibits statistically significant increase. No significant trend was obtained in summer. A “dry” period was detected in our studied period (1963/1964~1978/1979). Total annual rainfall was significantly positively correlated to the number of rain-days (r=0.59) and the water level (r=0.84). Our results indicate that the variations of rainfall and water level may have an impact on the aquatic plants in Taihu Lake. The dry period may be not suitable for the growth of the aquatic plants. All aquatic plants in Taihu Lake were dramatically reduced in the dry period, especially for submerged macrophytes and floating-leaf macrophytes. With the intensification of human activities over the past three decades in China, adverse effects on river ecosystem become more serious especially in the Hanjiang River. Xiangyang site is an important spawn ground for four domestic fishes in the downstream region of Hanjiang River. Based on the field survey results of macrophytes during 1997–2000 and 2013-2014, community succession of aquatic macrophytes at Xiangyang site was evaluated and discussed. Two-key ecologic-related hydrologic characteristics, flow regime and water level, were identified as the main influence factors. The EFC (environmental flow components) parameters were adopted to evaluate the alteration of flow regimes at Xiangyang site during 1941–2013. Evaluation results demonstrate a highly altered flow process after being regulated by reservoir. The flow patterns tend to be an attenuation process with no large floods occurring but a higher monthly low flow. Furthermore, the water level decreased and fluctuation reduced after the dam was built, which caused the decrease of biomass but favored the submerged macrophytes during 1995–2009. However, with the water level increasing after 2010 and gently fluctuating, due to uplift by the hydraulic projects downstream as well as the flow attenuation, the dominant position of submerged macrophytes will be weakened. In order to improve the long-term prediction accuracy of feed grain demand, a dynamic forecast model of long-term feed grain demand is realized with joint multivariate regression model, of which the correlation between the feed grain demand and its influence factors is analyzed firstly; then the change trend of various factors that affect the feed grain demand is predicted by using ARIMA model. The simulation results show that the accuracy of proposed combined dynamic forecasting model is obviously higher than that of the grey system model. Objectives Inflammation after myocardial infarction ( MI) causes cardiac nerve sprouting and consequent ventricular arrhythmias ( VAs). Macrophages, as major immune cells, are involved in the entire inflammation response process and serve as a link between inflammation and sympathetic hyperinnervation by regulating nerve growth factor ( NGF) expression. Accumulating evidence shows that statins possess antiarrhythmogenic properties, and the aim of this study was to explore the mechanism by which atorvastatin ameliorates cardiac sympathetic nerve sprouting via regulating macrophage polarization. Methods Rat models of MI were created by ligating the left coronary artery. MI-operated rats received either atorvastatin or phosphate-buffered saline for 7 days. Immunohistochemical analyses and immunofluorescence staining were used to analyze macrophage infiltration after MI and to detect the distribution and density of growth-associated protein-43 ( GAP-43) and tyrosine hydroxylase ( TH) in nerve fibers in peri-infarct zones after MI. The polarity of the macrophages that were obtained from the rat peritoneal cavity was examined via flow cytometry. The protein levels of NGF were detected via Western blot analysis, and the concentrations of NGF in the supernatants were determined via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The mRNA levels of NGF, inducible nitric oxide synthase ( iNOS), Arginase-1 (Arg1), interleukin-1β ( IL-1β), and tumor necrosis factor-α ( TNF-α) were examined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The association between VAs and MI was evaluated using programmed electrophysiological stimulation. Results Macrophages were successfully induced to the M1 (classically activated) and M2 (alternatively activated) phenotypes by stimulation with lipopolysaccharide and interferon-γ ( LPS + IFN-γ) and interleukin-4 ( IL-4), respectively. Atorvastatin markedly downregulated IL-1β, TNF-α, iNOS, and NGF and upregulated Arg1, shifting the macrophage phenotype from M1 to M2. Moreover, atorvastatin significantly reduced TH levels and the density of GAP-43-positive nerve fibers and decreased inducible VAs. Conclusion Atorvastatin effectively ameliorated cardiac sympathetic nerve remodeling and prevented VAs after MI by significantly downregulating the expression of NGF, IL-1β, and TNF-α via together with the augmentation of M2 macrophage. This study explored the role of T cell subsets and the expression of related microRNAs in patients with recurrent early pregnancy loss (EPL). Fifty patients with EPL loss between May 2018 and May 2021 were randomly selected as the EPL group, and 50 pregnant women with normal pregnancies or normal delivery outcomes were randomly selected as the control group. The expression levels of T cell subset-related markers and T cell subset-related miRNAs, in addition to the frequencies of T cell subsets, in peripheral blood of the two groups were analyzed. In terms of T cell-related markers, the results showed that the expression levels of the transcriptional regulator TBX-21 (T-bet) and interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) were significantly upregulated in peripheral blood of the patients in the EPL group (P < 0.05), whereas the expression levels of GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) and glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor (GITR) were significantly downregulated (P < 0.05). In the EPL group, the expression of mir-106b, mir-93, and mir-25 was upregulated (1.51 ± 0.129 , 1.43 ± 0.132 , and 1.73 ± 0.156 , respectively) in regulatory T (Treg) cell-related T cell subsets, whereas the expression of miR-146a and miR-155 was downregulated (P < 0.05). The frequencies of Treg and exhausted T cells in the EPL group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The cell frequencies of T helper 17 (Th17) cells and exhausted Treg cells in the EPL group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Tibetan heritage building has attracted attention from many people who have interest in its historical and cultural value. Many of these buildings are opened to visitors in recent years, and the live load from tourist becomes a problem with increasing number of visitors. A monitoring system has been installed in a typical ancient Tibetan timber building to collect data on the material stresses and deformations of structural components. Based on the data collected, a strategy is proposed to evaluate the component of structural response induced by crowd load. A statistical relationship is obtained between the effective temperature change and the recorded strain increment. Results show that the measured strain is closely related to the number of visitors, and this may form the basis for a method to further evaluate the safety and integrity of the structure. The role of α-fetoprotein (AFP) in the surveillance and diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been questioned in recent years due to its low sensitivity and specificity. In addition to AFP, several new serum biomarkers, such as lens culinaris agglutinin-reactive fraction of AFP (AFP-L3) and des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin (DCP), have also been identified as useful HCC serological markers. However, the exact diagnostic value of the combinations of these biomarkers for detecting HCC in patients with liver disease remains unclear. Thus, we performed the current meta-analysis to assess performance of AFP+AFP-L3%+DCP for diagnosing HCC. Studies were systematically searched in PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, CNKI, and WanFang Data databases. After full-text evaluation, 13 studies from 11 articles focusing on the combination of the three serum biomarkers for HCC detection were enrolled. Random-effects models were used due to the presence of heterogeneity. The pooled sensitivity and specificity for AFP+AFP-L3%+DCP were 88% and 79%, respectively. The area under the summary receiver operating characteristic (sROC) curve was 0.91, and the diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) was 28.33 (95% CI 16.78-47.83). Subgroup analysis showed that the pooled sensitivity and specificity of AFP+AFP-L3%+DCP in the diagnosis of HCC versus cirrhosis patients were 0.81 and 0.82, respectively. Summary: A structural health monitoring system has been installed in a typical Tibetan timber building to measure the structural strains. In this paper, the singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is used for both the long‐term and short‐term forecasting on the structural strain variations. The optimal parameters of the SSA are selected according to the minimum mean square error of the prediction. In the 3 months forecasting, sequential prediction of 1 month could be achieved with the best result. For the 1 day forecasting, the data length in the forecasting model should not be less than 10 days. Results show that the SSA method could effectively forecast the long‐term trend and the short‐term fluctuation of the strains. Olver–Rosenau equations presented by Olver and Rosenau can be rewritten to the dynamic system by the wave transformation. The system is a Hamiltonian system with the first integral, and its phase-space and equilibrium point analysis are given in different parameter spaces in detail. On this basis, we can derive various solutions of the original equation relating these orbits in different phase-space planes, and the theoretical basis of the numerical solution is provided for engineering application and production practice. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and safety profile of the glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist, lixisenatide, for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2D) in pediatric individuals. Materials and Methods: In this Phase 1, multicenter, randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled, parallel‐group, ascending repeated dose study (NCT02803918), participants aged ≥10 and < 18 years were randomized 3:1 to receive once‐daily lixisenatide in 2‐week increments of 5, 10, and 20 μg (n = 18) or placebo (n = 5) for 6 weeks. Results: Mean lixisenatide concentrations generally increased with increasing doses irrespective of anti‐drug antibody (ADA) status; however, mean lixisenatide concentrations and inter‐subject variability were higher for participants with positive ADA status. Improvements in fasting plasma glucose, post‐prandial glucose, AUC0–4.5, HbA1c, and body weight were observed with lixisenatide. Overall, the safety profile was consistent with the known profile in adults, with no unexpected side effects and no treatment‐emergent adverse events resulting in death or discontinuation. The most common events in the lixisenatide group were vomiting (11.1%) and nausea (11.1%). No symptomatic hypoglycemia was reported in either group. No clinically significant hematologic, biochemical or vital sign abnormalities were observed. Conclusions: Mean lixisenatide concentrations generally increased with increasing dose, irrespective of ADA status. Lixisenatide was associated with improved glycemic control and a trend in body weight reduction compared with placebo. The safety and tolerability profile of repeated lixisenatide doses of up to 20 μg per day in children and adolescents with T2D was reflective of the established safety profile of lixisenatide in adults. Tibetan ancient timber structure has great historical, cultural, artistic, and scientific values. The structural configuration of members such as wall, roof, slab, and timber skeleton with semirigid joints is studied in this paper based on field survey results. The aseismic characteristics of Tibetan ancient timber structure have been summarized and introduced. One of the unique features of the Tibetan ancient timber structure is its special beam-column joint which has a semirigid behavior. Numerical simulations of a typical 3-storey structural unit in the Potala Palace are studied. The acceleration responses of the structure under the action of El-Centro seismic waves are studied. Results show that the arrangement of the joints is helpful for seismic resistance of the structure. Most Tibetan ancient timber structures are suffering from different types of damage to certain extent which is vulnerable to seismic actions. Typical damage problems of the structural components are summarized and the main causes of this damage are analyzed. Structures with negative Poisson's ratios have wide applications in automotive design, owing to their excellent mechanical properties and good energy absorption capability. This type of structure can be used to design lightweight components. We used a double-arrow negative Poisson ratio structure and embedded lock assembly process to design a 3D lattice structure with a negative Poisson ratio. Moreover, we selected different design parameters for a simulation analysis and experimental research. The performances of the lattice structures with different parameters were compared and analyzed under different test conditions, including out-of-plane compression, three-point bending, and low-speed impact. The findings reported here pave the way for the development of new 3D auxetic materials with significantly expanded design space and potential applications by reducing the difficulty of the manufacturing process. Objective. To investigate the value of transabdominal combined transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of uterine adenomyoma. Methods. A total of 80 patients with suspected uterine adenomyoma in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects. All of them were examined by transabdominal color Doppler ultrasound (TA-CDUS) and transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound (TV-CDUS), and the postoperative pathological examination results were taken as the gold standard to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of different examination methods for uterine adenomyoma. Results. By postoperative pathological biopsy, 46 cases (57.50%) were diagnosed as positive and 34 cases (42.50%) were diagnosed as negative, including 29 cases of uterine adenomyoma and 5 other cases. The sensitivity, accuracy, and negative predictive value of TA-CDUS combined with TV-CDUS in the diagnosis of adenomyoma were higher than those of TA-CDUS (P < 0.05), and the Kappa value between TA-CDUS and pathological diagnosis was 0.923, which was higher than the 0.615 between TV-CDUS and pathological diagnosis. TA-CDUS combined with TV-CDUS showed that there were significant differences in the distribution of Adier blood flow grades between patients with uterine adenomyoma and uterine fibroids (P < 0.05), and the Adier blood flow grades of patients with uterine adenomyoma were mainly grade 0 and grade I; and the resistance index (RI), peak systolic velocity (Vs), and pulsatile index (PI) in patients with uterine adenomyoma were higher than those in patients with uterine fibroids (P < 0.05). Conclusion. Compared with TA-CDUS, TA-CDUS combined with TV-CDUS is more sensitive and accurate in the diagnosis of uterine adenomyoma and has a good consistency with pathological diagnosis results. Background. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a multifactorial etiology. Recently, associations between serum homocysteine (Hcy) levels and inflammatory skin diseases, such as psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa, have been reported. However, no study has explored the levels of serum Hcy, folic acid, and vitamin B12 in patients with rosacea. Objective. To investigate serum Hcy, vitamin B12, and folic acid levels in patients with papulopustular rosacea (PPR), we characterized the association of these levels with PPR severity. Methods. This case-control study included 138 PPR patients and 58 healthy controls. The serum levels of Hcy, vitamin B12, and folic acid were measured. A correlation was assessed between disease severity and serum levels of Hcy, vitamin B12, and folic acid. Results. Serum vitamin B12 and folic acid levels were significantly lower in PPR patients than in the healthy controls (p = 0.011 and p = 0.0173 , respectively). Although serum Hcy levels did not significantly differ between PPR patients and healthy controls, PPR severity was positively correlated with serum Hcy levels (p < 0.001). Conclusions. Background. There is a positive association between serum magnesium and hemoglobin levels in the general population. However, no studies have evaluated the association between serum magnesium and hemoglobin levels in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). We aimed to investigate whether there is a relationship between serum magnesium and hemoglobin levels in the patient population with PHPT. Methods. This retrospective study included 307 hospitalized PHPT patients who were continuously admitted to the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, from January 2010 to August 2020. Laboratory and demographic data of patients were collected. Hypomagnesemia was defined as serum magnesium <0.75 mmol/L. Patients with a hemoglobin level below 130 g/L in males and below 120 g/L in females were accepted as the anemic group. Results. Among the 307 patients with PHPT included in our study, 77 (25.1%) patients (33 (32.4%) males and 44 (21.5%) females) had hypomagnesemia. A total of 138 (45.0%) patients (49 males (48.0%) and 89 females (43.4%)) had anemia. Compared with the nonanemic group, the anemic group had lower average albumin, eGFR, and serum magnesium levels in both males and females. In contrast, average creatinine, PTH, and corrected calcium were significantly higher in the anemic group than in the nonanemic group in both males and females. Lower serum magnesium levels were associated with lower hemoglobin levels independent of serum calcium, albumin, eGFR, and PTH in PHPT patients. Conclusions. Background. Radical gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy is recognized as the standard treatment for resectable advanced gastric cancer. Preoperative fibrinogen and albumin measurements may bring clinical benefits in terms of providing advanced notice of a poor prognosis or recurrence in patients undergoing radical resection. The aim of this study was to identify markers that are predictive of a poor prognosis prior to surgery. Methods. Eight hundred forty-two consecutive patients who underwent curative radical gastrectomy at our hospital between 2008 and 2012 were retrospectively reviewed. Based on plasma fibrinogen and serum albumin levels, preoperative fibrinogen and albumin scores (Fib-Alb scores) were investigated, and the prognostic significance was determined. Results. The patients were classified according to a Fib-Alb score of 0 (n=376), 1 (n=327), or 2 (n=139). When the correlation between the response rate and the change in the Fib-Alb score was investigated, the response rate was significantly lower in patients with an increased Fib-Alb score than in the other patients. In the survival analysis, patients in the Fib-Alb high-score group exhibited significantly worse recurrence-free survival (RFS) (P=0.030) than patients in the other groups. A multivariate analysis using clinical stage and the change in the Fib-Alb score as covariates revealed that a change in the Fib-Alb score (Fib-Alb score 1, HR: 1.31, 95% CI: 1.03-1.66, P=0.028; Fib-Alb score 2, HR: 1.61, 95% CI: 1.20-2.17, P=0.001) was a significant independent predictive factor for RFS. Conclusions. The prognosis of patients with high fibrinogen and low albumin levels is poor. Gestational diabetes (hyperglycaemia) is an elevated blood sugar level diagnosed during the period of pregnancy and affects the baby's health. Hyperglycaemia has been found within the gestational weeks between 24 and 28, and the foetus has also the possibility of getting out prior to this test frame; it causes excessive birth weight, early birth, low-blood sugar level, respiratory distress syndrome, and type-2 diabetes to the mother. It creates a mandatory situation to identify the hyperglycaemia at least during the pregnancy weeks from 18 to 20. Further, a continuous monitoring of the level of glucose is necessary for the proper delivery. In this work, a method is introduced for glucose detection at 0.06 mg/mL, assisted by gold nanorod (GNR)-conjugated glucose oxidase (GOx) on interdigitated electrode sensor. In the absence of GNR, GOx shows the limit of glucose detection to be 0.25 mg/mL. Moreover, with GOx-GNR the reactions of all the glucose concentrations have recorded higher levels of the current from the baseline. With the specificity analysis, it was found that the glucose only reacts with GOx-GNR and discriminates other sugars efficiently. Hypertension is a global health problem. It has been reported that acupuncture at Taichong acupoints (LR3) decreases high blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats. A transcriptome analysis can profile gene expression and its relationship with acupuncture. In this study, rats were treated with 2 weeks of acupuncture followed by regular recording of blood pressure (BP). The mRNA changes in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) were evaluated to uncover the genetic mechanisms of acupuncture by using a whole transcript array (Affymetrix Rat Gene 1.0 ST array). BP measurements showed that acupuncture significantly decreased systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), and heart rate (HR). In the bioinformatics results, 2371 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, where 83 DEGs were overlapped among Wistar-Kyoto rats (WKYs), spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs), and SHRs + acupuncture rats (SHRs+Acu). Gene ontology (GO) and pathway analysis revealed that 279 GO terms and 20 pathways with significant differences were related to oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular endothelial function. In addition, coexpressed DEGs networks indicated that Cd4 and Il-33 might mediate the cascade of inflammation and oxidative stress responses, which could serve as a potential target of acupuncture treatment. In conclusion, our study demonstrated that acupuncture is a promising therapy for treating hypertension and could regulate multiple biological processes mainly involving oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular endothelial function. Alteration of dopamine (DA) and noradrenaline (NA) contributes to cognitive function. Acupuncture has been shown to affect DA and NA in chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) rats. However, the effect of acupuncture on DA-β-hydroxylase (DBH), the biosynthetic enzyme of NA, remains unknown. In CCH rats we established chronic hypoperfusion by bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (two-vessel occlusion, 2VO) and treated them with acupuncture. Acupuncture displayed beneficial effects on hippocampus-dependent memory impairments, including nonspatial and spatial memory. That is also reflected in hippocampus long-term-potentiation (LTP). Moreover, DBH expression in the hippocampus and DBH activity in cerebrospinal fluid were upregulated after acupuncture treatment. In conclusion, these in vivo findings suggest that acupuncture exerts a therapeutic effect on hippocampus-dependent memory and hippocampus LTP in CCH rats, which may be partially related to the modulation of DBH in the hippocampus. Plants have evolved a variety of phytochemicals to defense insect feeding, whereas insects have also evolved diverse detoxification enzymes, which are adaptively induced as a prosurvival mechanism. Herein, Z-ligustilide in Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. was found to exhibit a similar trend in the accumulation from December to May as the occurrence of Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) larvae. Importantly, S. litura larvae feeding enhanced Z-ligustilide level in the stem and leaf (p < 0.01). Moreover, Z-ligustilide ranging from 1 to 5 mg·g−1 exhibited remarkable larvicidal activity, antifeedant activity, and growth inhibition against S. litura larvae. The LC50 values of larvicidal activity for phthalides in L. chuanxiong were compared as follows: Z-ligustilide > levistilide A > senkyunolide A > 3-butylidenephthalide > senkyunolide I, implicating the critical role of conjugated structure. Notably, there was a biphasic dose response for glutathione S-transferase (GST), cytochrome P450 (CYP) 450, Acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and Carboxylesterase (CarE) activities and GSTs1, cytochrome P450 (CYP) 4S9, and CYP4M14 mRNA expression. Particularly, low dose (0.1 mg·g−1) of Z-ligustilide conferred the resistance of S. litura larvae against chlorpyrifos (p < 0.05). Objective. To confirm the effect and safety of Xiao’er Biantong (XEBT) granules for treating chronic constipation in children. Methods. This randomized, double-blind, multicenter study enrolled 480 children with age of 1–14 years who had FC. All of them were randomly assigned to receive either XEBT granules or its placebo in the ratio of 3 : 1. The primary efficacy outcome was the frequency of spontaneous bowel movements (SBM) for 14 days, and secondary outcomes were effectual time, score of main symptoms, effect of constipation, disappearance rate of accompanying symptoms, and recurrence rate. We also observed the adverse event (AE) and adverse drug reaction (ADR) to evaluate safety. Results. The sociodemographic characteristics and efficiency data were comparable in the two groups at baseline. The mean values of SBM for 14 days were 8.89 and 5.63 in the XEBT group and the placebo group, respectively, and there were 86.87% and 30.91% subjects in two groups up to SBM ≥ 3/week, respectively. There were significant differences between the two groups. The effects in the XEBT group on median effectual time of defecation, main symptom score, disappearance rate of symptoms, and the differences were significant. The conclusions based on full analysis set (FAS) and per protocol set (PPS) were consistent. Nine AEs were reported, of which 7 were in the XEBT group (2.02%) while 2 were in the placebo group (1.77%). There were no significant differences in the occurrence rate of AE and ADR between the two groups. Conclusions. Cement solidification/stabilization is widely used towards contaminated soil since it has a low price and significant improvement for the structural capacity of soil. To increase the usage of the solidified matrix, cement-solidified contaminated soil was used as road subgrade material. In this study, carbonation effect that reflected the durability on strength characteristics of cement-solidified contaminated soil and the settlement of pavement were evaluated through experimental and numerical analysis, respectively. According to results, compressive strengths of specimens with 1% Pb(II) under carbonation and standard curing range from 0.44 MPa to 1.17 MPa and 0.14 MPa to 2.67 MPa, respectively. The relatively low strengths were attributed to immobilization of heavy metal, which consumed part of SiO2, Al2O3, and CaO components in the cement or kaolin and reduced the hydration and pozzolanic reaction materials. This phenomenon further decreased the strength of solidified soils. The carbonation depth of 1% Cu(II) or Zn(II) contaminated soils was 18 mm, which significantly increased with the increase of curing time and contamination concentration. Furthermore, the finite element calculation results showed that surface settlements decreased with the increase of modulus of subgrade and the distance away from the center.
