The production of peanut oil in the industrial sector necessitates the utilization of diverse raw materials to generate consistent batches with stable flavor profiles, thereby leading to an increased focus on understanding the correlation between raw materials and flavor characteristics. In this study, sensory evaluations, headspace solid-phase micro-extraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS), odor activity value (OAV) calculations, and correlation analysis were employed to investigate the flavors and main contributing amino acids of hot-pressed oils derived from different peanut varieties. The results confirmed that the levels of alcohols, aldehydes, and heterocyclic compounds in peanut oil varied among nine different peanut varieties under identical processing conditions. The OAVs of 25 key aroma compounds, such as methylthiol, 3-ethyl-2,5-dimethylpyrazine, and 2,3-glutarone, exceeded a value of 1. The sensory evaluations and flavor content analysis demonstrated that pyrazines significantly influenced the flavor profile of the peanut oil. The concentrations of 11 amino acids showed a strong correlation with the levels of pyrazines. Notably, phenylalanine, lysine, glutamic acid, arginine, and isoleucine demonstrated significant associations with both pyrazine and nut flavors. Multipath effects are the most challenging error sources for the Global Navigation Satellite System receiver, affecting observation quality and positioning accuracy. Due to the non-linear and time-varying nature, multipath error is difficult to process. Previous studies used a homogeneous indicator to characterize multipath effects and only revealed the temporal or spatial correlations of the multipath, resulting in limited correction performance. In this study, we consider the code multipath to be influenced not only by the elevation and azimuth angle of certain stations to satellites but also to be related to satellite characteristics such as nadir angle. Hence, azimuth angle, elevation angle, nadir angle and carrier-to-noise power density ratio are taken as multiple indicators to characterize the multipath significantly. Then, we propose an Attention-based Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (AT-Conv-LSTM) that fully exploits the spatiotemporal correlations of multipath derived from multiple indicators. The main processing procedures using AT-Conv-LSTM are given. Finally, the AT-Conv-LSTM is applied to a station for 16 consecutive days to verify the multipath mitigation effectiveness. Compared with sidereal filtering, multipath hemispherical map (MHM) and trend-surface analysis-based MHM, the experimental results show that using AT-Conv-LSTM can decrease the root mean square error and mean absolute error values of the multipath error more than 60% and 13%, respectively. The proposed method can correct the code multipath to centimeter level, which is one order of magnitude lower than the uncorrected code multipath. Therefore, the proposed AT-Conv-LSTM network could be used as a powerful alternative tool to realize multipath reduction and will be of wide practical value in the fields of standard and high-precision positioning services. In recent decades, the United States has experienced changing patterns of extreme temperature. Although much progress has been made, delineating the change in synoptic surface temperature variability (SSTV) and understanding its potential causes remain to be pursued. In this study, we seek to provide a quantitative description of the change in SSTV in the past seven decades across the US and its potential relevant physical factors. To achieve this goal, we develop a spatiotemporally local analysis method based on the ensemble empirical mode decomposition that bypasses the stationary assumption and makes it possible to continuously track the change in SSTV in the spatiotemporal domain. We have found that the change in SSTV across the US is spatially inhomogeneous and temporally non-uniform. The change in the SSTV amplitude ranges from −36% to 39% across the continental United States, Northern Mexico, and surrounding oceans. Higher altitudes and surrounding regions generally see an increase in variability, while elsewhere over land, a reduction is observed, creating a three-band zonal structure across the continental United States. Generally, increases in variability are observed in the subtropics. The year-to-year varying annual evolutions of the stratospheric polar vortex (SPV) have an important downward impact on the weather and climate from winter to summer and thus potential implications for seasonal forecasts. This study constructs a parametric elliptic orbit model for capturing the annual evolutions of mass-weighted zonal momentum at 60° N (MU) and total air mass above the isentropic surface of 400 K (M) over the latitude band of 60–90° N from 1 July 1979 to 30 June 2021. The elliptic orbit model naturally connects two time series of a nonlinear oscillator. As a result, the observed coupling relationship between MU and M associated with SPV as well as its interannual variations can be well reconstructed by a limited number of parameters of the elliptic orbit model. The findings of this study may pave a new way for short-time climate forecasts of the annual evolutions of SPV, including its temporal evolutions over winter seasons as well as the spring and fall seasons, and timings of the sudden stratospheric warming events by constructing its elliptic orbit in advance. The measurement accuracy of Brillouin scattering spectra is crucial for ocean remote sensing by Brillouin scattering lidar. Due to the limited resolution of ICCD cameras, the traditional processing methods remain at the pixel or partial sub-pixel level, which cannot meet the requirements of high-performance lidar. In this paper, to extract the frequency shift with high precision from stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) lidar, a novel spectral processing method with sub-pixel recognition accuracy is proposed based on the Hessian matrix and Steger algorithm combined with the least square fitting method. Firstly, the Hessian matrix and Frangi filter are used for signal denoising. Then, the center points of SBS spectra at the sub-pixel level are extracted using the Steger algorithm and are connected and classified according to the signal type. On that basis, the frequency shifts of Brillouin scattering are calculated by using the center and radii of interference spectra after through fitting by the least squares method. Finally, the water temperatures are inverted by using the frequency shifts of Brillouin scattering. The results show that the processing method proposed in this paper can accurately calculate the frequency shift of Brillouin scattering. The measured errors of frequency shift are generally at an order of MHz, and the inversion accuracy of water temperature can be as low as 0.14 °C. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) homeostasis plays a vital role in cell physiological functions. Various factors can destroy the homeostasis of the ER and cause ER stress. Moreover, ER stress is often related to inflammation. Glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78) is an ER chaperone, which plays a vital role in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Nevertheless, the potential effects of GRP78 on ER stress and inflammation is still not fully elucidated in fish. In the present study, ER stress and inflammation was induced by tunicamycin (TM) or palmitic acid (PA) in the macrophages of large yellow croakers. GRP78 was treated with an agonist/inhibitor before or after the TM/PA treatment. The results showed that the TM/PA treatment could significantly induce ER stress and an inflammatory response in the macrophages of large yellow croakers whereas the incubation of the GRP78 agonist could reduce TM/PA-induced ER stress and an inflammatory response. Moreover, the incubation of the GRP78 inhibitor could further induce TM/PA-induced ER stress and an inflammatory response. As a new surface treatment technology, laser shock peening (LSP) is a multi-point overlay process of single-point laser shock. In this study, the finite element method (FEM) was used to build a model of single-point laser shock, and the model was verified by experiments. The difference in residual stresses between the experimental and simulated results was less than 20%. Then, the effects of the stress field and deformation of 20CrMnTi with different laser shock parameters were simulated and analyzed. According to the mechanical response of 20CrMnTi to different laser shock parameters, the optimal shocking process parameters for single-point shocking via LSP were determined to be a shock energy of 5 J, a laser pulse width of 20 ns, and an impact number of 5. Lastly, a simulation of multi-point laser shock was performed with the optimal parameters, and the residual compressive stress values of multi-point impacts are close to those of single-point impacts under the same process conditions. AhFAD2 is a key enzyme catalyzing the conversion of oleic acid into linoleic acid. The high oleic acid characteristic of peanut mainly comes from the homozygous recessive mutation of AhFAD2A and AhFAD2B genes (aabb). However, even in high-oleic-acid varieties with the aabb genotype, the oleic acid content of seeds with different maturity varies significantly. Therefore, in addition to AhFAD2A and AhFAD2B, other FAD2 members or regulators may be involved in this process. Which FAD2 genes are involved in the regulatory processes associated with seed maturity is still unclear. In this study, four stable lines with different genotypes (AABB, aaBB, AAbb, and aabb) were used to analyze the contents of oleic acid and linoleic acid at different stages of seed development in peanut. Three new AhFAD2 genes (AhFAD2–7, AhFAD2–8, and AhFAD2–9) were cloned based on the whole-genome sequencing results of cultivated peanuts. All peanut FAD2 genes showed tissue preference in expression; however, only the expression level of AhFAD2-7 was positively correlated with the linoleic acid concentration in peanut seeds. These findings provide new insights into the regulation of oleic acid accumulation by maturity, and AhFAD2-7 plays an important role in the maturity dependent accumulation of oleic acid and linoleic acid in peanut. Accurate bathymetric data is crucial for marine and coastal ecosystems. A lot of studies have been carried out for nearshore bathymetry using satellite data. The approach adopted extensively in shallow water depths estimation has recently been one of empirical models. However, the linear empirical model is simple and only takes limited band information at each bathymetric point into consideration. It may be not suitable for complex environments. In this paper, a deep learning framework was proposed for nearshore bathymetry (DL-NB) from ICESat-2 LiDAR and Sentinel-2 Imagery datasets. The bathymetric points from the spaceborne ICESat-2 LiDAR were extracted instead of in situ measurements. By virtue of the two-dimensional convolutional neural network (2D CNN), DL-NB can make full use of the initial multi-spectral information of Sentinel-2 at each bathymetric point and its adjacent areas during the training. Based on the trained model, the bathymetric maps of several study areas were produced including the Appalachian Bay (AB), Virgin Islands (VI), and Cat Island (CI) of the United States. The performance of DL-NB was evaluated by empirical method, machine learning method and multilayer perceptron (MLP). The results indicate that the accuracy of the DL-NB is better than comparative methods can in nearshore bathymetry. After quantitative analysis, the RMSE of DL-NB could achieve 1.01 m, 1.80 m and 0.28 m in AB, VI and CI respectively. Given the same data conditions, the proposed method can be applied for high precise global scale and multitemporal nearshore bathymetric maps generation, which are beneficial to marine environmental change assessment and conservation. Due to its covert and real-time properties, electroencephalography (EEG) has long been the medium of choice for emotion identification research. Currently, EEG-based emotion recognition focuses on exploiting temporal, spatial, and spatiotemporal EEG data for emotion recognition. Due to the lack of consideration of both spatial and temporal aspects of EEG data, the accuracy of EEG emotion detection algorithms employing solely spatial or temporal variables is low. In addition, approaches that use spatiotemporal properties of EEG for emotion recognition take temporal and spatial characteristics of EEG into account; however, these methods extract temporal and spatial information directly from EEG data. Since there is no reconstruction of the EEG data format, the temporal and spatial properties of the EEG data cannot be extracted efficiently. To address the aforementioned issues, this research proposes a multi-channel EEG emotion identification model based on the parallel transformer and three-dimensional convolutional neural networks (3D-CNN). First, parallel channel EEG data and position reconstruction EEG sequence data are created separately. The temporal and spatial characteristics of EEG are then retrieved using transformer and 3D-CNN models. Finally, the features of the two parallel modules are combined to form the final features for emotion recognition. On the DEAP, Dreamer, and SEED databases, the technique achieved greater accuracy in emotion recognition than other methods. It demonstrates the efficiency of the strategy described in this paper. In terms of the teaching process of matte painting, it is essential for students to develop a sound understanding of the relationship between virtual and physical environments. In this study, first-person view (FPV) drones are applied to matte painting courses to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching, and to propose more effective design suggestions for FPV drones that are more suitable for teaching. This provides students with a better learning environment using a digital education system. The results of the study indicate that the flow experience, learning interest, and continuous learning intention of students who use FPV drones in matte painting are significantly greater than those of students who only utilize traditional teaching methods. Furthermore, the technology incentive model (TIM) was developed in this study after being verified by the structural equation model. The results demonstrate that the second-order construct 'technology incentive' comprising perceived interactivity, perceived vividness, and novel experience positively influence students' learning interest and continuous learning intentions under the mediation of flow experience. Magnesium alloys have been widely used as lightweight engineering structural materials, but their service performances are severely restricted by corrosion failure. In this paper, the influence of corrosive medium and surface defect energy on the corrosion behavior of rolled ZK61M alloy was investigated. The corrosion tests were conducted in different concentrations of sodium chloride solution for different durations, and the polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were reported. The surface morphology of rolled ZK61M alloy before and after corrosion tests were analyzed. The results showed that the corrosion tendency became stronger with the increase of the concentration of corrosive medium and the number of surface defects of ZK61M alloy. Moreover, the initial corrosion pattern was the pitting caused by micro galvanic corrosion at the surface defect, which gradually developed into uniform corrosion. Furthermore, the main damage occurred at the grain boundary, resulting in the destruction of grain bonding force and the removal of material along the rheological layer. Peanut is one of the most important oil crops in the world, the growth and productivity of which are severely affected by salt stress. 24-epibrassinolide (EBL) plays an important role in stress resistances. However, the roles of exogenous EBL on the salt tolerance of peanut remain unclear. In this study, peanut seedlings treated with 150 mM NaCl and with or without EBL spray were performed to investigate the roles of EBL on salt resistance. Under 150 mM NaCl conditions, foliar application of 0.1 µM EBL increased the activity of catalase and thereby could eliminate reactive oxygen species (ROS). Similarly, EBL application promoted the accumulation of proline and soluble sugar, thus maintaining osmotic balance. Furthermore, foliar EBL spray enhanced the total chlorophyll content and high photosynthesis capacity. Transcriptome analysis showed that under NaCl stress, EBL treatment up-regulated expression levels of genes encoding peroxisomal nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide carrier (PMP34), probable sucrose-phosphate synthase 2 (SPS2) beta-fructofuranosidase (BFRUCT1) and Na+/H+ antiporters (NHX7 and NHX8), while down-regulated proline dehydrogenase 2 (PRODH). Δ6 fatty acyl desaturase (Δ6Fads2) is regarded as the first rate-limiting desaturase that catalyzes the biosynthesis of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) from 18-carbon fatty acid in vertebrates, but the underlying regulatory mechanism of fads2 has not been comprehensively understood. This study aimed to investigate the regulation role of fads2 subjected to fatty acid in large yellow croaker and rainbow trout. In vivo, large yellow croaker and rainbow trout were fed a fish oil (FO) diet, a soybean oil (SO) diet or a linseed oil (LO) diet for 10 weeks. The results show that LO and SO can significantly increase fads2 expression (p < 0.05). In vitro experiments were conducted in HEK293T cells or primary hepatocytes to determine the transcriptional regulation of fads2. The results show that CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein α (C/EBPα) can up-regulate fads2 expression. GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) can up-regulate fads2 expression in rainbow trout but showed opposite effect in large yellow croaker. Furthermore, C/EBPα protein levels were significantly increased by LO and SO (p < 0.05), gata3 expression was increased in rainbow trout by LO but decreased in large yellow croaker by LO and SO. In conclusion, we revealed that FO replaced by LO and SO increased fads2 expression through a C/EBPα and GATA3 dependent mechanism in large yellow croaker and rainbow trout. Hydropower is a clean and renewable energy, fundamental to the attainment of a sustainable society. Despite its efficacy and success, there is a need to address the hydroelectric stations' oil throwing and mist leakage, resulting in the deterioration of the generating units, water, and biodiversity. The conventional engineering measures to deal with oil mist leakage include: the reduction in the operating pad and oil temperature, optimization of the oil circulation loop in the oil tank, improvement of the sealing performance, and design of the oil mist emission device. However, the problem of oil mist leakage of bearings is complex, intractable, and cannot be solved by only one method. Numerical simulation can help to solve the oil mist problem and make up for the shortage of engineering measures. Yet, the mass transfer, involving multi-component and multi-phase flow, becomes a limitation for many numerical studies. As a result, this paper seeks to integrate the solutions by reviewing two influences: the global measures of oil mist leakage proof in the oil tank of bearings in the past 40 years, and the views and experiences of engineering practices. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), as the third leading cause of death worldwide, is a major global health issue. The early detection and grading of COPD are pivotal for effective treatment. Traditional spirometry tests, requiring considerable physical effort and strict adherence to quality standards, pose challenges in COPD diagnosis. Volumetric capnography (VCap), which can be performed during natural breathing without requiring additional compliance, presents a promising alternative tool. In this study, the dataset comprised 279 subjects with normal pulmonary function and 148 patients diagnosed with COPD. We introduced a novel quantitative analysis method for VCap. Volumetric capnograms were converted into two-dimensional grayscale images through the application of Gramian Angular Field (GAF) transformation. Subsequently, a multi-scale convolutional neural network, CapnoNet, was conducted to extract features and facilitate classification. To improve CapnoNet's performance, two data augmentation techniques were implemented. The proposed model exhibited a detection accuracy for COPD of 95.83%, with precision, recall, and F1 measures of 95.21%, 95.70%, and 95.45%, respectively. In the task of grading the severity of COPD, the model attained an accuracy of 96.36%, complemented by precision, recall, and F1 scores of 88.49%, 89.99%, and 89.15%, respectively. This work provides a new perspective for the quantitative analysis of volumetric capnography and demonstrates the strong performance of the proposed CapnoNet in the diagnosis and grading of COPD. Central Asia is one of the most sensitive regions to climate changes in the world and the grassland degradation of this region has attracted considerable concern. Quantifying the driving force of grassland degradation is important for understanding the effects of climate variation and human activities on grassland. In this study, net primary productivity (NPP) was selected as an indicator to quantitatively evaluate the relative role of climate variation and human activities in Central Asia from 2000 to 2020. This study used the global NPP product MOD17A3 as actual NPP and estimated the potential NPP using the Thornthwaite memorial model. The potential NPP and the difference between the potential NPP and actual NPP were used to represent the influence of climate variation and human activities. The grassland degradation or restoration can be demonstrated by the slope of actual NPP (SA). A positive slope value (SA) suggested that restoration occurs, whereas a negative slope value suggested that degradation occurred. The results showed that 23.08% of the total grassland area experienced grassland degradation, whereas 2.51% of the whole grassland underwent grassland restoration. Furthermore, 53.8% of the degraded grassland areas were influenced by climate variation, and 14.5% were caused by human activities. By contrast, the relative roles of climate variation and human activities in grassland restoration were 25% and 47.9%, respectively. The NPP variation also could be calculated by assessing the effects of these factors and the results showed that 55.7% of the NPP decrease was caused by climate variation, whereas 9.6% was a result of human activities. On the contrary, climate variation and human activities resulted in 19.8% and 37.3% of grassland restoration, respectively. Therefore, climate variation was the dominant factor of grassland degradation, and human activities were the main driver of grassland restoration in Central Asia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Simple Summary: Priapulida form a small relict group of marine invertebrates characterized by a vermiform shape, an annulated trunk, and an eversible anterior part. Worms with a comparable body plan were diverse and abundant throughout the Cambrian Era, although uncertainties remain concerning their relation to modern priapulids. The problem lies in the lack of morphological detail (ornament, symmetry) available from Cambrian worms and the fact that a comprehensive phylogeny of Cambrian worms with a robust homology framework is not available to define priapulids. The exceptionally preserved worm Ercaivermis sparios, described here from the early Cambrian of China, displays an unusual octagonal symmetry, suggesting that different symmetry types may have co-existed in the early history of Priapulida, before five-fold symmetry was naturally selected to become overwhelmingly dominant. The vast majority of early Paleozoic ecdysozoan worms are often resolved as stem-group Priapulida based on resemblances with the rare modern representatives of the group, such as the structure of the introvert and the number and distribution of scalids (a spiny cuticular outgrowth) and pharyngeal teeth. In Priapulida, both scalids and teeth create symmetry patterns, and three major diagnostic features are generally used to define the group: 25 longitudinal rows of scalids (five-fold symmetry), 8 scalids around the first introvert circle and the pentagonal arrangement of pharyngeal teeth. Here we describe Ercaivermis sparios gen. et sp. nov., a new priapulid from the early Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstätte, characterized by an annulated trunk lacking a sclerotized ornament, four pairs of anal hooks and 16 longitudinal rows of scalids along its introvert and eight scalids around each introvert circle, giving the animal an unusual octoradial symmetry. Cladistic analyses resolve Ercaivermis as a stem-group priapulid. Ercaivermis also suggests that several biradial symmetry patterns (e.g., pentagonal, octagonal) expressed in the cuticular ornament, may have co-existed among early Cambrian priapulids and that the pentaradial mode may have become rapidly dominant during the course of evolution, possibly via the standardization of patterning, i.e., the natural selection of one symmetry type over others. HIV-1 vaccines have been challenging to develop, partly due to the high level of genetic variation in its genome. Thus, a vaccine that can induce cross-reactive neutralization activities will be needed. Studies on the co-evolution of antibodies and viruses indicate that mimicking the natural infection is likely to induce broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs). We generated the consensus Env sequence for each time point in subject CH505, who developed broad neutralization activities, and selected five critical time points before broad neutralization was detected. These consensus sequences were designed to express stable Env trimers. Priming with the transmitted/founder Env timer and sequential boosting with these consensus Env trimers from different time points induced broader and more potent neutralizing activities than the BG505 Env trimer in guinea pigs. Analysis of the neutralization profiles showed that sequential immunization of Env trimers favored nAbs with gp120/gp41 interface specificity while the BG505 Env trimer favored nAbs with V2 specificity. The unique features such as consensus sequences, stable Env trimers and the sequential immunization to mimic natural infection likely has allowed the induction of improved neutralization responses. Aerosol particles originated from anthropogenic emissions, volcanic eruptions, biomass burning, and fossil combustion emissions, and their radiative effect is one of the most uncertain factors in climate change. Meanwhile, aerosol particles in fine particle size could also cause irreversible effects on the human respiratory system. This study attempted to analyse the spatial and temporal variations of global aerosol optical depth (AOD, 550 nm) during 1980–2018 using MERRA-2 aerosol reanalysis products and to investigate the effects of natural/anthropogenic emissions of different types of aerosols on AOD values. The results show that the global annual mean AOD values kept high levels with significant fluctuations during 1980–1995 and showed a consistent decreasing and less volatile trend after 1995. Spatially, the AOD values are relatively higher in the Northern Hemisphere than in the Southern Hemisphere, especially in North Africa (0.329), Northern India (0.235), and Eastern China (0.347), because of the intensive natural/anthropogenic aerosol emissions there. The sulphate-based aerosols emitted by biomass burning and anthropogenic emissions are the main types of aerosols worldwide, especially in densely populated and industrialized regions such as East Asia and Europe. Dust aerosols are also the main aerosol type in desert areas. For example, the AOD and AODP values for the Sahara Desert are 0.3178 and 75.32%, respectively. Both black carbon aerosols (BC) and organic carbon aerosols (OC) are primary or secondary from carbon emissions of fossil fuels, biomass burning, and open burning. Thus, the regions with high BC and OC aerosol loadings are mainly located in densely populated or vegetated areas such as East Asia, South Asia, and Central Africa. Sea salt aerosols are mainly found in coastline areas along the warm current pathway. Genital herpes (GH) has become one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases worldwide, and it is spreading rapidly in developing countries. Approximately 90% of GH cases are caused by HSV-2. Therapeutic HSV-2 vaccines are intended for people already infected with HSV-2 with the goal of reducing clinical recurrences and recurrent virus shedding. In our previous work, we evaluated recombinant adenovirus-based vaccines, including rAd-gD2ΔUL25, rAd-ΔUL25, and rAd-gD2, for their potency as prophylactic vaccines. In this study, we evaluated these three vaccines as therapeutic vaccines against acute and recurrent diseases in intravaginal challenged guinea pigs. Compared with the control groups, the recombinant vaccine rAd-gD2ΔUL25 induced a higher titer of the binding antibody, and rAd-gD2 + rAd-ΔUL25 induced a higher titer of the neutralizing antibody. Both rAd-gD2ΔUL25 and rAd-gD2 + rAd-ΔUL25 vaccines significantly enhanced the survival rate by 50% compared to rAd-gD2 and reduced viral replication in the genital tract and recurrent genital skin disease. During the pandemic era, quarantines might potentially have negative effects and disproportionately exacerbate health condition problems. We conducted this cross-sectional, national study to ascertain the prevalence of constant pain symptoms and how quarantines impacted the pain symptoms and identify the factors associated with constant pain to further guide reducing the prevalence of chronic pain for vulnerable people under the pandemic. The sociodemographic data, quarantine conditions, mental health situations and pain symptoms of the general population were collected. After adjusting for potential confounders, long-term quarantine (≥15 days) exposures were associated with an increased risk of constant pain complaints compared to those not under a quarantine (Odds Ratio (OR): 1.26; 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 1.03, 1.54; p = 0.026). Risk factors including unemployment (OR: 1.55), chronic disease history (OR: 2.38) and infection with COVID-19 (OR: 2.15), and any of mental health symptoms including depression, anxiety, insomnia and PTSD (OR: 5.44) were identified by a multivariable logistic regression. Additionally, mediation analysis revealed that the effects of the quarantine duration on pain symptoms were mediated by mental health symptoms (indirect effects: 0.075, p < 0.001). These results advocated that long-term quarantine measures were associated with an increased risk of experiencing pain, especially for vulnerable groups with COVID-19 infection and with mental health symptoms. The findings also suggest that reducing mental distress during the pandemic might contribute to reducing the burden of pain symptoms and prioritizing interventions for those experiencing a long-term quarantine. Micro-light-emitting diodes (μLEDs), with their advantages of high response speed, long lifespan, high brightness, and reliability, are widely regarded as the core of next-generation display technology. However, due to issues such as high manufacturing costs and low external quantum efficiency (EQE), μLEDs have not yet been truly commercialized. Additionally, the color conversion efficiency (CCE) of quantum dot (QD)-μLEDs is also a major obstacle to its practical application in the display industry. In this review, we systematically summarize the recent applications of nanomaterials and nanostructures in μLEDs and discuss the practical effects of these methods on enhancing the luminous efficiency of μLEDs and the color conversion efficiency of QD-μLEDs. This study investigates the asymptotic synchronization in fractional memristive neural networks of the Riemann–Liouville type, considering mixed time delays and jump mismatches. Addressing the challenges associated with discrepancies in the circuit switching speed and the accuracy of the memristor, this paper introduces an enhanced model that effectively navigates these complexities. We propose two novel event-based hybrid impulsive controllers, each characterized by unique triggering conditions. Utilizing advanced techniques in inequality and hybrid impulsive control, we establish the conditions necessary for achieving synchronization through innovative Lyapunov functions. Importantly, the developed controllers are theoretically optimized to minimize control costs, an essential consideration for their practical deployment. The all-composite sandwich structure with the honeycomb core is a lightweight and high-strength structure with broad application scenarios. The face sheet and honeycomb core of the proposed all-composite sandwich structure in this work are composed of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites. The mechanical response and damage mechanism of the all-composite sandwich structure under out-of-plane quasi-static compression and out-of-plane impact are studied by numerical methods. The refined finite element models of the sandwich structures are built on the ABAQUS/Explicit platform. The micromechanics of failure (MMF) theory based on physical component failure is used to describe the intralaminar damage mechanism of the face sheet and honeycomb core, and the mixed-mode exponential cohesive zone model (ECZM) is utilized to simulate the initiation and evolution of interlayer damage. In addition, the cohesive contact approach is adopted to capture the debonding failure at the face-sheet/core. The numerical results show that the all-composite sandwich structure has the characteristics of large structural stiffness and strong energy absorption ability. The failure mechanism of the all-composite sandwich structure under compression is mainly matrix damage and delamination of the honeycomb core, with buckling and folding in appearance. Under out-of-plane impact, matrix damage and delamination arise on the upper sheet, little damage is observed on the lower sheet, and the delamination damage morphology tends to be circular with increasing impact energy. In addition, the interface failure of the upper-sheet/core is more than that of the lower-sheet/core. In addition, the matrix damage near the impact center of the honeycomb core tends to be consistent with the delamination contour, and a small amount of fiber failure is also observed, which manifests as a collapse morphology of the impact area. The research results enrich the understanding of the mechanical behavior of all-composite sandwich structures with honeycomb cores and provide theoretical support for their potential applications. Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted increasing interest as promising candidates for large-scale energy storage due to their low cost, natural abundance and similar chemical intercalation mechanism with lithium-ion batteries. However, achieving superior rate capability and long-life for SIBs remains a major challenge owing to the limitation of favorable anode materials selection. Herein, an elegant one-step solvothermal method was used to synthesize VS4 nanorods and VS4 nanorods/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposites. The effects of ethylene carbonate/diethyl carbonate(EC/DEC), ethylene carbonate/dimethyl carbonate(EC/DMC), and tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (TEGDME) electrolytes on the electrochemical properties of VS4 nanorods were investigated. The VS4 nanorods electrodes exhibit high specific capacity in EC/DMC electrolytes. A theoretical calculation confirms the advance of EC/DMC electrolytes for VS4 nanorods. Significantly, the discharge capacity of VS4/RGO nanocomposites remains 100 mAh/g after 2000 cycles at a large current density of 2 A/g, indicating their excellent cycling stability. The nanocomposites can improve the electronic conductivity and reduce the Na+ diffusion energy barrier, thereby effectively improving the sodium storage performance of the hybrid material. Spodoptera frugiperda has caused serious economic damage to various crops. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) can be used as biological control agents for many pests, including lepidopteran insects. In this study, 218 soil samples were collected from 46 sites in Guangxi, and EPNs were detected in 15 samples. The ITS region of the rDNA gene was used for the molecular identification of isolated nematodes. In total, four and eleven identified populations belonged to Heterorhabditis and Oscheius, respectively. A series of bioassays were conducted to examine the virulence of EPN isolates from Guangxi to control the larvae and pupae of S. frugiperda. The mortality of the third-instar larvae caused by EPNs was concentration dependent. The same dose of EPNs was used to control the third and sixth-instar larvae of S. frugiperda, and the virulence was lower in the sixth-instar larvae. S. frugiperda pupae were treated with different EPNs strains, and the adult eclosion rate of the treated group was significantly lower than that of the sterile water control group (93.3%). Therefore, EPNs could significantly inhibit the eclosion of S. frugiperda pupae. This study provides important information for the biological control of S. frugiperda with EPNs. The pentagon has been proven to be an important structural unit for carbon materials, leading to different physical and chemical properties from those of hexagon-based allotropes. Following the development from graphene to penta-graphene, a breakthrough has very recently been made for graphyne—for example, imidazole-graphyne (ID-GY) was formed by assembling experimentally synthesized pentagonal imidazole molecules and acetylenic linkers. In this work, we study the thermal properties and thermoelectric performance of ID-GY by combining first principle calculations with the Boltzmann transport theory. The calculated lattice thermal conductivity of ID-GY is 10.76 W/mK at 300 K, which is only one tenth of that of γ-graphyne (106.24 W/mK). A detailed analysis of the harmonic and anharmonic properties, including the phonon group velocity, phonon lifetime, atomic displacement parameter, and bond energy curves, reveals that the low lattice thermal conductivity can be attributed to the low Young's modulus, low Debye temperature, and high Grüneisen parameter. Furthermore, at room temperature, ID-GY can reach a high ZT value of 0.46 with a 5.8 × 1012 cm−2 hole concentration, which is much higher than the value for many other carbon-based materials. This work demonstrates that changing structural units from hexagonal to pentagonal can significantly reduce the lattice thermal conductivity and enhance the thermoelectric performance of carbon-based materials. Adaptive cellular immunity plays a major role in clearing microbial invasion of mucosal tissues in mammals. Following the clearance of primary pathogens, memory lymphocytes are established both systemically and locally at pathogen entry sites. Recently, resident memory CD8 T and B cells (TRM and BRM respectively), which are parked mainly in non-lymphoid mucosal tissues, were characterized and demonstrated to be essential for protection against secondary microbial invasion. Here we reviewed the current understanding of the cellular and molecular cues regulating CD8 TRM and BRM development, maintenance and function. We focused particularly on elucidating the role of a novel tissue-resident helper T (TRH) cell population in assisting TRM and BRM responses in the respiratory mucosa following viral infection. Finally, we argue that the promotion of TRH responses by future mucosal vaccines would be key to the development of successful universal influenza or coronavirus vaccines, providing long-lasting immunity against a broad spectrum of viral strains. The accuracy of the electric heating load forecast in a new load has a close relationship with the safety and stability of distribution network in normal operation. It also has enormous implications on the architecture of a distribution network. Firstly, the thermal comfort model of the human body was established to analyze the comfortable body temperature of a main crowd under different temperatures and levels of humidity. Secondly, it analyzed the influence factors of electric heating load, and from the perspective of meteorological factors, it selected the difference between human thermal comfort temperature and actual temperature and humidity by gray correlation analysis. Finally, the attention mechanism was utilized to promote the precision of combined adjunction model, and then the data results of the predicted electric heating load were obtained. In the verification, the measured data of electric heating load in a certain area of eastern Inner Mongolia were used. The results showed that after considering the input vector with most relative factors such as temperature and human thermal comfort, the LSTM network can realize the accurate prediction of the electric heating load. Current evidence suggests that skeletal muscle functional impairments present in emphysema and COPD patients may in part be a consequence of the disease condition per se. The mechanistic basis for these impairments is uncertain. Within the human population, it is difficult to control for confounding effects of concomitantly reduced activity levels. To explore this issue, malondialdehyde (MDA), a marker of lipid peroxidation, and enzymes of the glutathione redox system were measured in selected hindlimb muscles of Syrian Golden hamsters 6 months following intratracheal instillation of either saline (CON, n=7) or elastase (25 U/100 g body weight, EMP, n=5) in an accepted model where physical activity levels between control and EMP groups could be equated. Excised lung volume increased with EMP (CON, 1.3±0.2 g; EMP, 3.2±0.4 g, P<0.01). MDA was increased in the gastrocnemius (CON, 238±87; EMP, 371±122 nmol/g protein, P<0.05) of EMP hamsters. Antioxidant concentrations had a disparate response; glutathione (CON, 7.68±1.53; and EMP, 10.25±0.67 μmol/g protein, P<0.01) and the activity of glutathione reductase (GR) were increased (CON, 1.87±0.17; and EMP, 2.46±0.31 U/g protein, P<0.01) in the gastrocnemius, whereas the activity of glutathione peroxidase (GPx) was decreased (CON, 12.7±2.65; and EMP, 9.46±1.88 U/g protein, P<0.05) in the vastus lateralis of EMP hamsters. Arc discharge is traditionally used to synthesize randomly arranged graphene flakes. In this paper, we substantially modify it into a glow discharge method so that the discharge current is much more reduced. The H2 and/or Ar plasma etching of the graphitic electrode (used to ignite the plasma) is hence much gentler, rendering it possible to grow graphene in thin film format. During the growth at a few mbar, there is no external carbon gas precursor introduced. The carbon atoms and/or carbon containing particles as a result of the plasma etching are emitted in the chamber, some of which undergo gas phase scattering and deposit onto the metallic catalyst substrates (Cu-Ni alloy thin films or Cu foils) as graphene sheets. It is found that high quality monolayer graphene can be synthesized on Cu foil at 900 °C. On Cu-Ni, under the same growth condition, somewhat more bilayer regions are observed. It is observed that the material quality is almost indifferent to the gas ratios, which makes the optimization of the deposition process relatively easy. Detailed study on the deposition procedure and the material characterization have been carried out. This work reveals the possibility of producing thin film graphene by a gas discharge based process, not only from fundamental point of view, but it also provides an alternative technique other than standard chemical vapor deposition to synthesize graphene that is compatible with the semiconductor planar process. As the process uses solid graphite as a source material that is rich in the crust, it is a facile and relatively cheap method to obtain high quality graphene thin films in this respect. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a degenerative brain disease with a high and irreversible incidence. In recent years, because brain signals have complex nonlinear dynamics, there has been growing interest in studying complex changes in the time series of brain signals in patients with AD. We reviewed studies of complexity analyses of single-channel time series from electroencephalogram (EEG), magnetoencephalogram (MEG), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in AD and determined future research directions. A systematic literature search for 2000–2019 was performed in the Web of Science and PubMed databases, resulting in 126 identified studies. Compared to healthy individuals, the signals from AD patients have less complexity and more predictable oscillations, which are found mainly in the left parietal, occipital, right frontal, and temporal regions. This complexity is considered a potential biomarker for accurately responding to the functional lesion in AD. The current review helps to reveal the patterns of dysfunction in the brains of patients with AD and to investigate whether signal complexity can be used as a biomarker to accurately respond to the functional lesion in AD. We proposed further studies in the signal complexities of AD patients, including investigating the reliability of complexity algorithms and the spatial patterns of signal complexity. An accurate motion model and reliable measurements are required for autonomous underwater vehicle localization and navigation in underwater environments. However, without a propeller, underwater gliders have limited maneuverability and carrying capacity, which brings difficulties for modeling and measuring. In this paper, an extended Kalman filter (EKF)-based method, combining a modified kinematic model of underwater gliders with the travel-time differences between signals received from a single beacon, is proposed for estimating the glider positions in a predict-update cycle. First, to accurately establish a motion model for underwater gliders moving in the ocean, we introduce two modification parameters, the attack and drift angles, into a kinematic model of underwater gliders, along with depth-averaged current velocities. The attack and drift angles are calculated based on the coefficients of hydrodynamic forces and the sensor-measured angle variation over time. Then, instead of satisfying synchronization requirements, the travel-time differences between signals received from a single beacon, multiplied by the sound speed, are taken as the measurements. To further reduce the EKF estimation error, the Rauch-Tung-Striebel (RTS) smoothing method is merged into the EKF system. The proposed method is tested in a virtual spatiotemporal environment from an ocean model. The experimental results show that the performance of the RTS-EKF estimate is improved when compared with the motion model estimate, especially by 46% at the inflection point, at least in the particular study developed in this article. Simple Summary: Over the years, rumen acidosis is considered as the most common disease in ruminants, which affects animal health and brings huge economic losses of the ruminant industry. Antibiotic have been considered as effective to alleviate the occurrence of ruminal acidosis. However, antibiotic usage in food animals has been absolutely banned by European Union and strictly restricted in other countries. It is necessary to search for safe, effective and healthy additives alternative to antibiotics for ruminants. β-sitosterol is a plant compound known as phytosterol, which has many biological activities. In this study, sheep were feed four levels with β-sitosterol supplementation (0, 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 g/kg). We concluded that β-sitosterol could attenuate high grain diet-induced inflammatory response and modify ruminal fermentation. These findings provide updated insight for preventing the occurrence of rumen acidosis. β-sitosterol (BSS) is a plant-derived natural bioactive compound, its cellular mechanism of anti-inflammatory activity has been proven recently. Little information is available regarding the application of BSS on ruminants under high grain diet. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary BSS supplementation on inflammatory response, ruminal fermentation characteristics and the composition of the ruminal bacterial community under high grain diet. Eight rumen-cannulated Hu sheep (59.7 ± 4.8 kg of initial body weight) were randomly assigned into a replicated 4 × 4 Latin square design trial. Sheep were fed a high grain diet (non-fiber carbohydrate: neutral detergent fiber = 2.03) supplemented either with 0.25 (LBS), 0.5 (MBS), 1.0 (HBS) or without (CON) g BSS /kg dry matter diet. On day 21 of each period, rumen content samples were obtained at 6 h postfeeding, and blood samples were obtained before morning feeding. The data showed that compared with control group, Dietary BSS supplementation decreased serum concentrations of tumor necrosis factor, interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-1β. The ruminal pH and acetate concentration for BSS treatment were improved, while concentration of propionate, butyrate and lactate was decreased. The result of Illumina MiSeq sequencing of 16S rRNA gene revealed that BSS addition can increase the proportion of Prevotella_1, Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group, Prevotella_7, and Selenomonas_1, and decrease the proportion of Lachnospiraceae_NK3A20_group. These results indicated that BSS attenuates high grain diet-induced inflammatory response and modifies ruminal fermentation. Fried garlic oil has been widely used in traditional Chinese cuisine and, recently, has become increasingly popular in food manufacturing. In this study, the effects of different initial and final frying temperature on the flavor characteristics and sensory profile of fried garlic oil were investigated using solvent-assisted flavor evaporation (SAFE) combined with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Results showed that the content of flavor compounds changed significantly as the frying temperature was increased. The sample that was treated at an initial temperature of 115 °C and a final temperature of 155 °C contained the highest amount of thioethers and heterocycles, mainly comprising dimethyl trisulfide, diallyl disulfide, and 2-vinyl-4H-1,2-dithiin. Partial least-squares regression elucidated the sensory attributes of fried and roasted garlic, showing a high correlation with thioethers and pyrazines. Furthermore, changes in the 2,6-dimethylpyrazine, dimethyl trisulfide, and diallyl disulfide concentrations were detected every 5 °C during the frying process (initial temperature, 115 °C; final temperature, 155 °C). In maneuvering target tracking applications, the performance of the traditional interacting multiple model (IMM) filter deteriorates seriously under heavy-tailed measurement noises which are induced by outliers. A robust IMM filter utilizing Student's t-distribution is proposed to handle the heavy-tailed measurement noises in this paper. The measurement noises are treated as Student's t-distribution, whose degrees of freedom (dof) and scale matrix are assumed to be governed by gamma and inverse Wishart distributions, respectively. The mixing distributions of the target state, dof, and scale matrix are achieved through the interacting strategy of IMM filter. These mixing distributions are used for the initialization of time prediction. The posterior distributions of the target state, dof, and scale matrix conditioned on each mode are obtained by employing variational Bayesian approach. Then, the target state, dof, and scale matrix parameters are jointly estimated. A variational method is also given to estimate the mode probability. The unscented transform is utilized to solve the nonlinear estimation problem. Simulation results show that the proposed filter improves the estimation accuracy of target state and mode probability over existing filters under heavy-tailed measurement noises. This paper presents a comparative study on natural indigo and indirubin in terms of molecular structures and spectral properties by using both computational and experimental methods. The spectral properties were analyzed with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Raman, UV-Visible, and fluorescence techniques. The density functional theory (DFT) method with B3LYP using 6-311G(d,p) basis set was utilized to obtain their optimized geometric structures and calculate the molecular electrostatic potential, frontier molecular orbitals, FTIR, and Raman spectra. The single-excitation configuration interaction (CIS), time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT), and polarization continuum model (PCM) were used to optimize the excited state structure and calculate the UV-Visible absorption and fluorescence spectra of the two molecules at B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level. The results showed that all computational spectra agreed well with the experimental results. It was found that the same vibrational mode presents a lower frequency in indigo than that in indirubin. The frontier molecular orbital analysis demonstrated that the UV-Visible absorption and fluorescence bands of indigo and indirubin are mainly derived from π → π* transition. The results also implied that the indigo molecule is more conjugated and planar than indirubin, thereby exhibiting a longer maximum absorption wavelength and stronger fluorescence peak. Yield prediction is of great significance for yield mapping, crop market planning, crop insurance, and harvest management. Remote sensing is becoming increasingly important in crop yield prediction. Based on remote sensing data, great progress has been made in this field by using machine learning, especially the Deep Learning (DL) method, including Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) or Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Recent experiments in this area suggested that CNN can explore more spatial features and LSTM has the ability to reveal phenological characteristics, which both play an important role in crop yield prediction. However, very few experiments combining these two models for crop yield prediction have been reported. In this paper, we propose a deep CNN-LSTM model for both end-of-season and in-season soybean yield prediction in CONUS at the county-level. The model was trained by crop growth variables and environment variables, which include weather data, MODIS Land Surface Temperature (LST) data, and MODIS Surface Reflectance (SR) data; historical soybean yield data were employed as labels. Based on the Google Earth Engine (GEE), all these training data were combined and transformed into histogram-based tensors for deep learning. The results of the experiment indicate that the prediction performance of the proposed CNN-LSTM model can outperform the pure CNN or LSTM model in both end-of-season and in-season. Verticillum dahliae is a soil-borne phytopathogenic fungus causing destructive Verticillium wilt disease. We previously found a trehalase-encoding gene (VdPT1) in V. dahliae being significantly up-regulated after sensing root exudates from a susceptible cotton variety. In this study, we characterized the function of VdPT1 in the growth and virulence of V. dahliae using its deletion-mutant strains. The VdPT1 deletion mutants (ΔVdPT1) displayed slow colony expansion and mycelial growth, reduced conidial production and germination rate, and decreased mycelial penetration ability and virulence on cotton, but exhibited enhanced stress resistance, suggesting that VdPT1 is involved in the growth, pathogenesis, and stress resistance of V. dahliae. Host-induced silencing of VdPT1 in cotton reduced fungal biomass and enhanced cotton resistance against V. dahliae. Comparative transcriptome analysis between wild-type and mutant identified 1480 up-regulated and 1650 down-regulated genes in the ΔVdPT1 strain. Several down-regulated genes encode plant cell wall-degrading enzymes required for full virulence of V. dahliae to cotton, and down-regulated genes related to carbon metabolism, DNA replication, and amino acid biosynthesis seemed to be responsible for the decreased growth of the ΔVdPT1 strain. Simple Summary: Lack of a tumor-specific antigen as the target and an inhospitable tumor environment limit the clinical application of Chimeric antigen receptor-engineered T cells (CAR Ts) in solid tumors, compared with its unprecedented results in treating hematological cancers, while tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes (TIL) exhibit diverse T cell receptor clonality and superior tumor-homing abilities. In our study, we took advantage of the dual advantages of TIL-T and CAR T and constructed TIL CAR-T cells capable of MHC molecules and co-stimulatory signal-independent activation with tumor-specific broad-spectrum TCR expression. We innovatively constructed a humanized mouse colorectal cancer model, which provides an important platform for subsequent evaluation of human CD19-target CAR T cells. Mouse colorectal cancer CT26 cells expressing human CD19 (hCD19+-CT26) were developed to assess the anti-tumor activity of TIL CAR-T cells, both in vitro and in vivo. Compared with splenic CAR T adoptive transfer, TIL CAR-T administration showed superior tumor suppression ability in hCD19+-CT26 tumor-bearing mice. Furthermore, more T cells were found at the tumor site and had lower exhaustion-related inhibitory receptor (T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 3, Tim3) expression and higher immune memory molecule (CD62L) expression. Overall, we provided an artificial tumor-specific antigen in solid tumors and demonstrated that combined CAR-expressing TIL-Ts (TIL CAR-Ts) exhibited strong anti-tumor activity, with improved T cell infiltration and immune memory. In this paper, the PdOx nanoparticles modified SnO2 are prepared using sputtering and wet chemical methods. The SnO2 nanoparticles are separately added to a concentration of 0.75% to 10% PdCl2 to obtain a PdCl2/SnO2 composite material, which is calcined for 1 to 2 h at the temperatures of 120 °C, 250 °C, 450 °C and 600 °C. The PdOx/SnO2 nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Microstructural observations revealed PdOx with different chemical states attached to the surface of SnO2. Hydrogen response change tests were performed on the obtained PdOx/SnO2 gas sensing materials. The results show that the high gas sensing performance may be attributed to the contribution of the PdOx-loaded SnO2. In hydrogen, the best sensitivity response was attained at 80 °C, which is 60 times that of pristine SnO2. It clarifies the role of PdOx in the gas sensing mechanisms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effects of the addition of 0.29 wt% Ce on the high-temperature mechanical properties of an Al–Cu–Li alloy were investigated. Ce addition contributes to T1 (Al2CuLi) phase coarsening inhibition and Ce-containing intermetallic refinement which greatly improved the thermal stability and high-temperature deformation uniformity of this alloy. On the one hand, small Ce in solid solution and segregation at phase interface can effectively prevent the diffusion and convergence of the main element Cu on T1 phase during thermal exposure. Therefore, the thermal stability of Ce-containing alloy substantiality improves during thermal exposure at the medium-high-temperature stage (170 °C to 270 °C). On the other hand, the increment of the tensile elongation in Ce-containing alloy is much greater than that in Ce-free alloy at high temperatures tensile test, because the refined Al8Cu4Ce intermetallic phase with high-temperature stability are mainly located in the fracture area with plastic fracture characteristics. This work provides a new method for enhancing high-temperature mechanical properties of Al–Cu–Li alloy which could be used as a construction material for high-temperature structural components. Ultrasonic morphology modification of silver (Ag) nanowires and their applications in transparent film heaters for defogging in electric vehicles and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) detectors have been studied. With 10 min ultrasonic treatment of Ag nanowires, the electro-thermal conversion capability of Ag nanowire based transparent film heaters is efficiently improved (about 50% increase in temperature rise), which can be mainly attributed to the cross-section area reduction and the serious agglomerations of the ultrasonic modified Ag nanowire films. Furthermore, the bending or fracture caused by deformation of Ag nanowires after ultrasonic treatment provides more hot spots for SERS, and therefore lead to a significant SERS signal enhancement. This work not only greatly improves the performance of Ag nanowire based transparent film heaters and SERS detectors, but provides a new way for the functional modification of Ag nanowires. Micro-light-emitting diodes (micro-LEDs) are the key to next-generation display technology. However, since the driving circuits are typically composed of Si devices, numerous micro-LED pixels must be transferred from their GaN substrate to bond with the Si field-effect transistors (FETs). This process is called massive transfer, which is arguably the largest obstacle preventing the commercialization of micro-LEDs. We combined GaN devices with emerging graphene transistors and for the first-time designed, fabricated, and measured a monolithic integrated device composed of a GaN micro-LED and a graphene FET connected in series. The p-electrode of the micro-LED was connected to the source of the driving transistor. The FET was used to tune the work current in the micro-LED. Meanwhile, the transparent electrode of the micro-LED was also made of graphene. The operation of the device was demonstrated in room temperature conditions. This research opens the gateway to a new field where other two-dimensional (2D) materials can be used as FET channel materials to further improve transfer properties. The 2D materials can in principle be grown directly onto GaN, which is reproducible and scalable. Also, considering the outstanding properties and versatility of 2D materials, it is possible to envision fully transparent micro-LED displays with transfer-free active matrices (AM), alongside an efficient thermal management solution. Single LiNbO3 (LNO) crystals are widely utilized in surface acoustic wave devices, optoelectronic devices, and novel ferroelectric memory devices due to their remarkable electro-optic and piezoelectric properties, and high saturation and remnant polarizations. However, challenges remain regarding their nanofabrication that hinder their applications. The prevailing etching techniques for LNO encompass dry etching, wet etching, and focused-ion-beam etching, each having distinct merits and demerits. Achieving higher etching rates and improved sidewall angles presents a challenge in LNO nanofabrication. Building upon the current etching researches, this study explores various etching methods using instruments capable of generating diverse plasma densities, such as dry etching in reactive ion etching (RIE) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP), proton exchange-enhanced etching, and wet chemical etching following high-temperature reduction treatment, as well as hybrid dry and wet etching. Ultimately, after employing RIE dry etching combined with wet etching, following a high-temperature reduction treatment, an etching rate of 10 nm/min and pretty 90° sidewall angles were achieved. Furthermore, high etching rates of 79 nm/min with steep sidewall angles of 83° were obtained using ICP dry etching. Additionally, using SiO2 masks, a high etching rate of 108 nm/min and an etching selectivity ratio of 0.86:1 were achieved. Male hypogonadism arises from the inadequate production of testosterone (T) by the testes, primarily due to Leydig cell (LC) dysfunction. Small molecules possess several advantages, including high cell permeability, ease of synthesis, standardization, and low effective concentration. Recent investigations have illuminated the potential of small molecule combinations to facilitate direct lineage reprogramming, removing the need for transgenes by modulating cellular signaling pathways and epigenetic modifications. In this study, we have identified a specific cocktail of small molecules, comprising forskolin, DAPT, purmorphamine, 8-Br-cAMP, 20α-hydroxycholesterol, and SAG, capable of promoting the conversion of fibroblasts into Leydig-like cells (LLCs). These LLCs expressed key genes involved in testosterone synthesis, such as Star, Cyp11a1, and Hsd3b1, and exhibited the ability to secrete testosterone in vitro. Furthermore, they successfully restored serum testosterone levels in testosterone-castrated mice in vivo. The small molecule cocktails also induced alterations in the epigenetic marks, specifically H3K4me3, and enhanced chromosomal accessibility on core steroidogenesis genes. Osteoporosis is a chronic inflammatory disease that severely affects quality of life. Cornus officinalis is a Chinese herbal medicine with various bioactive ingredients, among which morroniside is its signature ingredient. Although anti-bone resorption drugs are the main treatment for bone loss, promoting bone anabolism is more suitable for increasing bone mass. Therefore, identifying changes in bone formation induced by morroniside may be conducive to developing effective intervention methods. In this study, morroniside was found to promote the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) and inhibit inflammation-induced bone loss in an in vivo mouse model of inflammatory bone loss. Morroniside enhanced bone density and bone microstructure, and inhibited the expression of IL6, IL1β, and ALP in serum (p < 0.05). Furthermore, in in vitro experiments, BMSCs exposed to 0–256 μM morroniside did not show cytotoxicity. Morroniside inhibited the expression of IL6 and IL1β and promoted the expression of the osteogenic transcription factors Runx2 and OCN. Furthermore, morroniside promoted osteocalcin and Runx2 expression and inhibited TRAF6-mediated NF-κB and MAPK signaling, as well as osteoblast growth and NF-κB nuclear transposition. Thus, morroniside promoted osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs, slowed the occurrence of the inflammatory response, and inhibited bone loss in mice with inflammatory bone loss. This study aimed to optimize machining parameters to obtain better surface roughness and remnant depth ratio values under dry turning of NiTi-shape memory alloy (SMA). During the turning experiments, various machining parameters were used, including three different cutting speeds vc (105, 144, and 200 m/min), three different feed rates f (0.05, 0.1, and 0.15 mm/rev), and three different depths of cut ap (0.1, 0.15, and 0.2 mm). The effects of machining parameters in turning experiments were investigated on the response surface methodology (RSM) with Box–Behnken design (BBD) using the Design Expert 11; how the cutting parameters affect the surface quality is discussed in detail. In this context, the cutting parameters were successfully optimized using a genetic algorithm (GA). The optimized processing parameters are vc = 126 m/min, f = 0.11 mm/rev, ap = 0.14 mm, resulting in surface roughness and remnant depth ratio values of 0.489 μm and 64.13%, respectively.
