In this paper, we present an underdetermined estimation algorithm for two-dimensional (2-D) direction of arrival (DOA) based on three-parallel co-prime arrays. By exploiting the correlation among the received signals in both the time and spatial domains, a conjugate augmented spatial–temporal virtual array is constructed, which significantly increases the degrees of freedom (DOF) and expands the array aperture, effectively filling the holes within the physical array. By vectorizing the covariance matrix obtained from the spatial–temporal virtual array, we can transform the 2-D DOA estimation problem into a one-dimensional (1-D) sparse recovery problem. Thereafter, the excellent gridless methods: sparse and parametric approach (SPA) and the matrix pencil and pairing (MAPP), are adopted to efficiently resolve the 1-D sparse recovery problem, enabling the automatic pairing of the 2-D angles. This paper introduces a novel algorithm for optimizing the coefficients of the digital filters used in incremental delta-sigma analog-to-digital converters (IDSC). This algorithm is modified from constrained linear least squares (LS) to improve the signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio (SNDR) of IDSC and minimize the oversampling rate (OSR) of the modulator, which enhances system speed and reduces power consumption. In the case of the same SNDR, the first-order IDSC with the proposed filter can reduce the OSR of the modulator by 50%, at least compared to the IDSC with the conventional filter. The second-order IDSC with the proposed filter can reach a higher SNDR of 106 dB with an OSR of 64. Considering the nonlinearity of the integrator, the SNDR of IDSC with the proposed filter is also 10 dB greater than that of the conventional filters and 3dB greater than that of the IDSC using the near-optimal algorithm filter. The controlled autoregressive autoregressive moving average (CARARMA) models are of popularity to describe the evolution characteristics of dynamical systems. To overcome the identification obstacle resulting from colored noises, this paper studies the identification of the CARARMA models by forming an intermediate correlated noise model. In order to realize the real-time prediction function of the models, the on-line identification scheme is developed by constructing the dynamical objective functions based on the real-time sampled observations. Firstly, a rolling optimization cost function is built based on the observation at a single sampling instant to catch the modal information at a single time point and a generalized extended stochastic gradient (GESG) algorithm is proposed through the stochastic gradient optimization. Secondly, a rolling window cost function is built in accordance with the dynamical batch observations within data window by extending the proposed GESG algorithm and the multi-innovation generalized extended stochastic gradient algorithm is derived. Thirdly, from the perspective of theoretical analysis, the convergence proof of the proposed algorithm is provided based on the stochastic martingale convergence theory. Optimal dispatch in power systems is a complex mathematical model of nonlinear programming with many physical constraints, which is difficult to solve by conventional methods. Thus, intelligent algorithms are now viable options for resolving the nonlinear scheduling issues of microgrids. In this paper, we propose a double-layer optimization strategy based on the multi-point improved gray wolf algorithm (MPIGWO). The inner layer optimizes load profiles with time-of-use tariffs. The outer one achieves a fast search for the optimal solution and prevents getting stuck in a local optimum, which improves the gray wolf algorithm significantly. First, the Bernoulli map is used to randomly generate the initial population. Second, the efficiency of optimization can be improved by modifying the attenuation factor based on the Sin function and then updating the exact weight factor of the position to reasonably select the best position. Finally, an improved dimensional learning-based hunting (IDLH) search strategy is employed to determine the optimal solution. The numerical case study shows that the proposed double-layer optimization strategy can implement dynamic scheduling for distributed power sources while lowering the costs of economic operation and environmental protection significantly. Mesh size dependency caused by strain localization is an ongoing problem in numerical simulations using the finite element method. In order to solve this problem, the concept of including the characteristic element length for regularization is used in the literature. The estimation of the characteristic element length is not a straightforward task since normally the characteristic element length differs from one element to another in the simulation and depends not only on element geometry but also on fracture plane orientation and material orientation. In this paper, an innovative method is proposed to estimate the characteristic element length which works on the orthogonal projection of elements on the fracture plane. The method is implemented in Abaqus/Explicit finite element solver and is verified using simple and more complex load cases such as tensile specimens, open hole specimens, and low-velocity impact. A good correlation between the numerical and experimental results in all of the studied cases was achieved and the proposed method proved to be effective in reducing mesh sensitivity. The use of the volumetric method from the literature for the simulation of open-hole tensile specimens led to more than 25% increase in the estimation of specimen strength while similar values of strength for different element aspect ratios were achieved with the proposed method. Because of the limitations of current PCB detection methods, such as low detection accuracy and high rate of false and missed detection, a PCB defect detection algorithm based on improved RetinaNet is proposed, that is, RetinaNet-line. Firstly, the algorithm uses PVT v2B2-Hi as the backbone network of the whole model, which can not only solve the deep feature redundancy caused by the residual network in RetinaNet but also improve the feature extraction ability of the network. Then, the CARAFE up-sampling module is used to enrich the semantic features of defective targets and promote the discrimination ability of the algorithm to defective targets. Finally, HSV color space is used to process the input feature image, and the color distribution is expanded by random perturbation in H, S, and V channels, with the data enhancement completed. In this paper, experiments are conducted on the publicly shared PCB defect detection dataset from the Intelligent Open Laboratory of Peking University, and the results show that the improved algorithm achieves 94.2% in the mAP index, which is better than other networks. Simon's problem is one of the most important problems demonstrating the power of quantum algorithms, as it greatly inspired the proposal of Shor's algorithm. The generalized Simon's problem is a natural extension of Simon's problem and also a special hidden subgroup problem: Given a function f : { 0 , 1 } n → { 0 , 1 } m , it is promised that there exists a hidden subgroup S ≤ Z 2 n of rank k such that for any x , y ∈ { 0 , 1 } n , f (x) = f (y) iff x ⊕ y ∈ S . The goal of generalized Simon's problem is to find the hidden subgroup S. In this paper, we present two key contributions. Firstly, we characterize the structure of the generalized Simon's problem in distributed scenario and introduce a corresponding distributed quantum algorithm. Secondly, we refine the algorithm to ensure exactness due to the application of quantum amplitude amplification technique. Our algorithm offers exponential speedup compared to the distributed classical algorithm. When contrasted with the quantum algorithm for the generalized Simon's problem, our algorithm's oracle requires fewer qubits, thus making it easier to be physically implemented. Particularly, the exact distributed quantum algorithm we develop for the generalized Simon's problem outperforms the best previously proposed distributed quantum algorithm for Simon's problem in terms of generalizability and exactness. One of the most popular techniques for changing the purpose of an image or resizing a digital image with content awareness is the seam-carving method. The performance of image resizing algorithms based on seam machining shows that these algorithms are highly dependent on the extraction of importance map techniques and the detection of salient objects. So far, various algorithms have been proposed to extract the importance map. In this paper, a new method based on Rényi entropy is proposed to extract the importance map. Also, a deep learning network has been used to detect salient objects. The simulator results showed that combining Rényi's importance map with a deep network of salient object detection performed better than classical seam-carving and other extended seam-carving algorithms based on deep learning. Remote sensing image fusion is dedicated to obtain a high-resolution multispectral (HRMS) image without spatial or spectral distortion compared to the single source image. In this paper, a novel fusion algorithm based on Bayesian estimation for remote sensing images is proposed from the new perspective of risk decisions. In this study, an observation model based on Bayesian estimation for remote sensing image fusion is constructed. Three categories of probabilities including prior, conditional and posterior probabilities are calculated after an intensity-hue-saturation (IHS) transformation is applied to the original low-resolution MS image. To obtain the desired HRMS image, with the corrected posterior probability, a fusion rule based on Bayesian decisions is designed to estimate which pixels to select from the panchromatic (PAN) image and the intensity component of the MS image. The selected pixels constitute a new component that will participate in an IHS inverse transformation to yield the fused image. As the terminal of the power system, the distribution network is the main area where failures occur. In addition, with the integration of distributed generation, the traditional distribution network becomes more complex, rendering the conventional fault location algorithms based on a single power supply obsolete. Therefore, it is necessary to seek a new algorithm to locate the fault of the distributed power distribution network. In existing fault localization algorithms for distribution networks, since there are only two states of line faults, which can usually be represented by 0 and 1, most algorithms use discrete algorithms with this characteristic for iterative optimization. Therefore, this paper combines the advantages of the particle swarm algorithm and genetic algorithm and uses continuous real numbers for iteration to construct a successive particle swarm genetic algorithm (SPSO-GA) different from previous algorithms. The accuracy, speed, and fault tolerance of SPSO-GA, discrete particle swarm Genetic algorithm, and artificial fish swarm algorithm are compared in an IEEE33-node distribution network with the distributed power supply. The simulation results show that the SPSO-GA algorithm has high optimization accuracy and stability for single, double, or triple faults. Furthermore, SPSO-GA has a rapid convergence velocity, requires fewer particles, and can locate the fault segment accurately for the distribution network containing distorted information. Due to the large computational requirements of object detection algorithms, high-resolution remote sensing vehicle detection always involves numerous small objects, high level of background complexity, and challenges in balancing model accuracy and parameter count. The attention mechanism and efficient architecture lightweight-YOLO (AMEA-YOLO) is proposed in this paper. A lightweight network as the backbone network of AMEA-YOLO is designed, and it could maintain model accuracy and ensure good lightweight. FasterNet is employed to accelerate model training speed. The enhanced deep second-order channel attention module (EnhancedSOCA) is utilized to improve the image high-resolution. In addition, a lightweight module is devised to further reduce the model's weight. The implementation of the HardSwish activation function improves model accuracy. Power system operators are faced with the problem of unit commitment belonging to mixed integer programming, which becomes very complicated, as units become large-scale and highly constrained. Because unit commitment problem is a binary problem with commitment and de-commitment, a discrete/binary optimization algorithm with superior performance is required. This paper proposes a novel hybrid binary bat algorithm for unit commitment problem, which consists of two process. To begin with, the proposed binary bat algorithm is applied to determining the commitment schedule of unit commitment problem. Specifically, an improved crossover operator based on exponential-logic-modulo map is proposed to enhance the convergence and maintain the diversity of populations. To prevent the algorithm from falling into a local optimum, a local mutation strategy performs local perturbation. Chaotic map is responsible for updating some parameters to increase the performance of the proposed algorithm. Furthermore, Lambda-iteration method is adopted to solve economic load dispatch in continuous space. Constraint handling is performed using the heuristic constraint produce. Nowadays, establishing security in data transmission is essential, and it is achieved by cryptography. Encryption of still or video images in specific applications such as Internet of Things, medical and satellite imaging, in applications requiring high-speed encryption, or even in applications where a personal computer is unavailable or cannot be used needs special hardware. In this paper, an image encryption algorithm based on chaos theory named Parallel Chaotic Checksum-based Image Encryption or PCCIE algorithm is proposed that has been able to provide a fast, efficient and secure algorithm with a hardware perspective on the design and parallel system structure. Using high-level synthesis, PCCIE is implemented on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The proposed algorithm using small and independent local image buffers solved FPGA internal memory limitation for encryption of large images. Ultimately, a Hexa-core crypto-processor with single-precision floating-point and fixed-point precision has been designed, capable of encrypting 256 × 256 and Full HD images in 2.13 and 59.52 milliseconds, respectively, at 469 and 16 frames per second. The sparse triangular solver (SpTRSV) is mostly used for scientific and engineering applications. The structured-grid triangular solver of regular dependencies (STRSV) is a special kind of SpTRSV. Some general SpTRSVs that disregards the regularity of the matrix are unsuitable for solving this problem. This paper proposes an efficient parallel algorithm for STRSV on the SW26010 (a kind of China independently designed many-core processors), namely swStructTRSV. The algorithm makes full use of the fine-grained and low latency communication characteristics of the SW26010 to reduce the waiting time for synchronization, maximizes the regularity of access to improve memory access bandwidth, and achieves overlap between memory access and computation simultaneously. Moreover, the idea of the algorithm can be extended to incomplete LU factorization (ILU factorization) because of consistent dependencies. The experimental results on a core group(8 * 8 network composed of 64 cores) of SW26010 show that swStructTRSV can achieve an average speedup of over 30 in the sequential version. swStructTRSV on SW26010 achieves solving speedups of 2.2 and 6.3 over the fast STRSV (fSpTRSV) previously implemented on SW26010 and MKL on Intel Xeon Gold 6132, respectively. swStructTRSV significantly outperforms cuSparse on NVIDIA TITAN RTX in terms of overall execution time. A neural network model needs to be manually designed for ancient mural dynasty recognition, and this paper proposes an ancient mural dynasty recognition algorithm that is based on a neural architecture search (NAS). First, the structural edge information of mural images is extracted for use by the neural network model in recognizing mural missions. Second, an NAS algorithm that is based on contrast selection (CS) simplifies the architecture search to an incremental CS and then searches for the optimal network architecture on the mural dataset. Finally, the identified optimal network architecture is used for training and testing to complete the mural dynasty recognition task. The results show that the top accuracy of the proposed method on the mural dataset is 88.10%, the recall rate is 87.52%, and the precision rate is 87.69%. Each evaluation index used by the neural network model is superior to that of classical network models such as AlexNet and ResNet-50. Compared with NAS methods such as ASNG and MIGO, the accuracy of mural dynasty recognition is higher by an average of 4.27% when using the proposed method. The proposed method is verified on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, ImageNet16-120 and other datasets and achieves a good recognition accuracy in the NAS-bench-201 search space, which averages 93.26%, 70.73% and 45.34%, respectively, on the abovementioned datasets. Asthma, a common chronic respiratory disease among children and adults, affects more than 200 million people worldwide and causes about 450,000 deaths each year. Machine learning is increasingly applied in healthcare to assist health practitioners in decision-making. In asthma management, machine learning excels in performing well-defined tasks, such as diagnosis, prediction, medication, and management. However, there remain uncertainties about how machine learning can be applied to predict asthma exacerbation. This study aimed to systematically review recent applications of machine learning techniques in predicting the risk of asthma attacks to assist asthma control and management. A total of 860 studies were initially identified from five databases. After the screening and full-text review, 20 studies were selected for inclusion in this review. The review considered recent studies published from January 2010 to February 2023. The 20 studies used machine learning techniques to support future asthma risk prediction by using various data sources such as clinical, medical, biological, and socio-demographic data sources, as well as environmental and meteorological data. While some studies considered prediction as a category, other studies predicted the probability of exacerbation. Only a group of studies applied prediction windows. The paper proposes a conceptual model to summarise how machine learning and available data sources can be leveraged to produce effective models for the early detection of asthma attacks. The review also generated a list of data sources that other researchers may use in similar work. The Manta Ray Foraging Optimization Algorithm (MRFO) is a metaheuristic algorithm for solving real-world problems. However, MRFO suffers from slow convergence precision and is easily trapped in a local optimal. Hence, to overcome these deficiencies, this paper proposes an Improved MRFO algorithm (IMRFO) that employs Tent chaotic mapping, the bidirectional search strategy, and the Levy flight strategy. Among these strategies, Tent chaotic mapping distributes the manta ray more uniformly and improves the quality of the initial solution, while the bidirectional search strategy expands the search area. The Levy flight strategy strengthens the algorithm's ability to escape from local optimal. To verify IMRFO's performance, the algorithm is compared with 10 other algorithms on 23 benchmark functions, the CEC2017 and CEC2022 benchmark suites, and five engineering problems, with statistical analysis illustrating the superiority and significance of the difference between IMRFO and other algorithms. The Feedback Vertex Set problem is undoubtedly one of the most well-studied problems in Parameterized Complexity. In this problem, given an undirected graph G and a non-negative integer k, the objective is to test whether there exists a subset S ⊆ V (G) of size at most k such that G - S is a forest. After a long line of improvement, recently, Li and Nederlof [TALG, 2022] designed a randomized algorithm for the problem running in time O ⋆ (2. 7 k) ∗ . In the Parameterized Complexity literature, several problems around Feedback Vertex Set have been studied. Some of these include Independent Feedback Vertex Set (where the set S should be an independent set in G), Almost Forest Deletion and Pseudoforest Deletion. In Pseudoforest Deletion, each connected component in G - S has at most one cycle in it. However, in Almost Forest Deletion, the input is a graph G and non-negative integers k , ℓ ∈ N , and the objective is to test whether there exists a vertex subset S of size at most k, such that G - S is ℓ edges away from a forest. Virtual Machine Placement (VMP) plays a significant role in improving efficiency of Cloud Data Center (CDC). With the dramatic increase in the use of cloud computing, it seems necessary to apply effective algorithms to reduce the power consumption of CDC. VMP is known as a NP-Hard problem that cannot be solved by deterministic algorithms in polynomial time. In this paper, an algorithm named Combinated Random Best First Fit (CRBFF) is proposed with the aim of increasing the Quality of Service (QoS), in which Virtual Machines (VMs) are optimally placed on heterogeneous Physical Machines (PMs). The effectiveness of CRBFF is evaluated by different metrics on Google Compute Engine (GCE), Amazon Web Service Elastic Compute Cloud (AWS EC2) and Microsoft Azure scenarios and the results show that CRBFF performs better than other common algorithms. The quantum phase estimation algorithm has been utilized by a variety of quantum algorithms, most notably Shor's algorithm, to obtain information regarding the period of a function that is appropriately encoded into a unitary operator. In many cases, it is desired to estimate whether a specific state exhibits a certain pattern quickly. In this paper, we exhibit a methodology based on the QPE algorithm to identify certain patterns. In particular, starting from a properly encoded state, we demonstrate how to construct unitary operators whose eigenvectors correspond to states with proper diagonals. QPE will then output an eigenphase equal to zero with certainty for these states, thereby identifying this class of matrices. For partial matches, our algorithm, based on the tolerance threshold used, will show areas of high similarity, and it will outperform classical ones when the number of mismatches defined by the tolerance is significantly low when compared to the size of the diagonal. The meta-heuristic algorithms require a lot of fitness calculations to get good enough solutions, which constitutes an obstacle to solving computationally complex practical problems. Recently, it has been found that surrogate-assisted meta-heuristic algorithms show potential in solving expensive complex optimization problems. This paper proposes an efficient surrogate-assisted Taguchi salp swarm algorithm (SATSSA) to solve expensive complex optimization problems. The SATSSA uses a combination of the local surrogate-assisted model (LSAM), global surrogate-assisted model (GSAM), and k-means clustering surrogate-assisted model (KCSAM) to fit the fitness function. To enhance the prediction ability of the model, an improved salp swarm algorithm with the Taguchi method (TSSA) is proposed to update and predict the model. GSAM is mainly used to capture the entire landscape of the search space. KCSAM is designed to capture part of the search space to improve the exploration capability of the algorithm. LSAM is used to capture the contours around the optimal individual. The proposed SATSSA is compared with other four excellent algorithms on 30D, 50D, and 100D benchmark functions. This paper presents novel way to achieve fast and accurate Artificial Neural Network (ANN) modeling of Radio Frequency (RF) front end Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). Multilayer perceptron neural network is implemented to model high gain, ultra-low noise pseudomorhic High Electron Mobility Transistor (pHEMT) based LNA. Datasets are developed for input and output that is obtained from the Electro-Magnetic simulator. Different neural networks such as PatternNet, FitNet, and CascadeForwardNet with different algorithms are trained, tested, and compared to learn the behavior of the amplifier, and the best model is analyzed. Neural networks are modeled for LNA S-parameters and NF. It is observed that greater than 99% accuracy is achieved for PatternNet Bayesian regularization algorithm with less number of hidden layers and also it is found that the simulation results are almost similar to the developed ANN. Internet of Things (IoT) as an emerging technology is widely used in various applications such as remote healthcare, smart environment, and intelligent transportation systems. It is necessary to address users' concerns about cost, ease of use, privacy, and comprehensive security to grow the popularity of this technology. Intrusion Detection System (IDS) plays an indispensable role in security and preventing unauthorized users to access authorized network resources through analyzing network patterns. Several techniques such as metaheuristic algorithms, machine learning, fuzzy logic, and artificial intelligence algorithms can be applied to increase the accuracy of IDS, feature selection, and network patterns classification. In this paper, a hybrid intrusion detection system based on Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) is presented that utilizes the advantages of these algorithms. In the proposed approach, the support vector machine has been used to train and differentiate anomaly records from normal records and grey wolf optimization has been used to find the kernel function, feature selection, and adjust optimal parameters for the SVM in order to improve the classification. This research paper proposes a novel technique of asymmetric cryptosystem to secure the digital color images using the QZS algorithm and random modulus decomposition (RMD). The QZS algorithm is performed on two color channels of RGB image and gets the single channel image which is randomized later by using the scrambling scheme proposed by us. RMD is performed on it to obtain the final encrypted image. Some statistical analyses like MSE, PSNR, SSIM, histogram, entropy, differential attacks and cropping attacks are performed to test the robustness of the proposed method. A secure encryption scheme, combining multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO), optical chaos, and DNA algorithm is proposed and demonstrated. In this paper, a secure encryption and decryption architecture based on optical chaotic synchronization system with injection-locking is analyzed. We prove that a main laser (ML) can drive two-pair secondary lasers (TPSLs) to generate the synchronized optical chaos with high complexity. The system employs the XOR operation between the Hash value of the initial image and optimized value by MOPSO, which modulates the bias current of ML, thus TPSLs are driven to generate two pair synchronized chaotic sequences, which combine the Hash value of the initial image to generate two keys through a certain algorithm. Furthermore, two keys are used to scramble the pixel positions of the image and diffuse image pixels through DNA rules, and then in receiving end, two same keys are used to unscramble and reversely diffuse the encrypted image. Besides modulating the bias current of ML, the other aim of MOPSO is to optimize the entropy of the encrypted image and the correlation between the adjacent pixels. In order to ensure the recovery of real image, we compute and compare the digest-message of two pair synchronized chaotic sequences by using Hash algorithm in two ends before transmitting the encrypted image over optical fiber link. By synchronizing with the lasers at the sending end, we obtained two same keys to decrypt the ciphertext image in the receiving end. This paper investigates the finite-time and fixed-time bipartite consensus problem of multiple Euler–Lagrange systems (MELSs) under directed interaction topologies, considering external disturbances. Two novel distributed hierarchical control algorithms are developed to address the challenging problems. Specifically, a new distributed estimator is designed to estimate the states of agents in finite/fixed-time. Moreover, based on the obtained estimations, the finite/fixed-time controller is presented to accomplish the bipartite consensus of the MELSs in the local control layer. By utilizing Lyapunov stability and the nearest neighbor-interactions theory, sufficient conditions for achieving the designed performance of the MELSs are derived. The performance of a narrowband active noise control (NANC) system can be significantly degraded due to the frequency mismatch (FM). In this paper, the statistical performance of a typical FxLMS-based NANC system in the presence of FM is analyzed in detail. Difference equations governing the system dynamics and closed-form steady-state mean-square error expressions are derived and discussed. The stochastic analysis results reveal that the FM introduces small troublesome sinusoids into the NANC system. The controller has to track these sinusoids to minimize the residual noise, which leads to a serious performance deterioration. As a by-product, the optimal step sizes that minimize the effect of a relatively small FM are also derived. The findings significantly enrich our understanding of the stochastic behavior of the FxLMS algorithm in the presence of FM and also provide some useful information for NANC system design. Effective resource allocation is a crucial aspect in improving the performance of visible light communication (VLC)/hybrid WiFi networks. This study presents a dynamic resource allocation algorithm for multiuser scenarios. A fuzzy logic technique is employed to select the network resources with higher scores for communication. In this sense, to ensure fairness in the hybrid VLC-WiFi network, an enhanced proportional fairness (PF) algorithm is utilized. The algorithm considers the access delay and the distance to the access point as users move, striking a reasonable balance between fair allocation of user resources and maximizing system resource utilization. Therefore, to enhance the user experience in real-time scheduling, a compensation factor is introduced to compensate users with higher latency, increasing their priority. A thorough analysis is provided for the throughput, latency, utility value, and fairness models of the VLC-WiFi heterogeneous network system. The algorithm proposed in this paper is simulated and compared with four traditional algorithms, namely the Round-Robin algorithm, maximum carrier to interference ratio (Max C/I) algorithm, modified largest weighted delay first algorithm, and PF algorithm, under different metrics. Simulation results show that the proposed method is effective, and the improved algorithm yields better fairness and higher throughput compared to the conventional algorithm. As the number of frames increases, the fairness index of the proposed algorithm increases the fastest and gradually converges to 1. The throughput of this method is significantly greater than that of previous algorithms, reaching a stable rate of roughly 1.3 Mbps. The suggested algorithm is approximately 150% higher than the throughput achieved by conventional PF algorithms. The algorithm improves user satisfaction in different regions, and the utility value remains around 0.975. The packet loss rate is approximately 75% lower than traditional typical algorithms, and the average latency is approximately 60% lower. Arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) is a meta-heuristic optimization method based on mathematical operators proposed in recent years. Although it has good performance, it can also lead to insufficient local search ability and falling into local optima when solving complex optimization problems. In order to make up for the above shortcomings, the optimization performance of AOA is further improved. This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm based on AOA and particle swarm optimization (PSO) called HAOAPSO. Firstly, a compound opposition-based learning (COBL) strategy is introduced to broaden the scope of finding optimal solutions to help the algorithm better jump out of local optima. Secondly, PSO is combined with AOA that integrates COBL to improve the algorithm's local search ability, so as to improve the overall search efficiency of the algorithm. In addition, experiments are performed on 23 classical benchmark functions with different characteristics and five engineering design optimization problems, and the experimental results of HAOAPSO are compared with those of other well-known optimization algorithms to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. This paper presents a massively parallel approach of the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (PMLFMA) on homegrown many-core SW26010 cluster of China, noted as (SW-PMLFMA), for 3-D electromagnetic scattering problems. In this approach, the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) octree is first partitioned among management processing elements (MPEs) of SW26010 processors following the ternary partitioning scheme using the message passing interface (MPI). Then, the computationally intensive parts of the PMLFMA on each MPI process, matrix filling, aggregation and disaggregation are accelerated by using all the 64 computing processing elements (CPEs) in the same core group of the MPE via the Athread parallel programming model. Different parallelization strategies are designed for many-core accelerators to ensure a high computational throughput. In coincidence with the special characteristic of local Lagrange interpolation, the compressed sparse row (CSR) and the compressed sparse column (CSC) sparse matrix storage format is used for storing interpolation and anterpolation matrices, respectively, together with a specially designed cache mechanism of hybrid dynamic and static buffers using the scratchpad memory (SPM) to improve data access efficiency. This paper considers Bayesian analysis of data from seemingly unrelated regression models whose errors have a distribution that is scale mixtures of normal distributions. A non-iterative Bayesian sampling algorithm is developed to obtain the posterior samples, which eliminates the convergence problems in iterative Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approach. The performances of the proposed algorithm are illustrated through simulation studies, and the results show that it appears to outperform the MCMC approach and is time-efficient compared to the existing methods. In this paper, a feasible expectation-conditional-maximization (ECM) algorithm is developed for finding the maximum likelihood estimates of parameters of the skew-normal based stochastic frontier model. It was recently shown that a large class of phylogenetic networks, the ‘labellable’ networks, is in bijection with the set of ‘expanding’ covers of finite sets. In this paper, we show how several prominent classes of phylogenetic networks can be characterised purely in terms of properties of their associated covers. These classes include the tree-based, tree-child, orchard, tree-sibling, and normal networks. In the opposite direction, we give an example of how a restriction on the set of expanding covers can define a new class of networks, which we call ‘spinal’ phylogenetic networks. This paper pioneers the application of semi-supervised clustering to probability density functions. In the field of machine learning, clustering has become an increasingly popular research topic due to its critical importance. Many clustering algorithms have been proposed utilizing a variety of approaches. This study focuses on clustering of high-dimensional data using the maximum margin clustering approach. In this paper, two methods are introduced: The first method employs the classical maximum margin clustering approach, which separates data into two clusters with the greatest margin between them. The second method takes cluster compactness into account and searches for two parallel hyperplanes that best fit to the cluster samples while also being as far apart from each other as possible. Additionally, robust variants of these clustering methods are introduced to handle outliers and noise within the data samples. The stochastic gradient algorithm is used to solve the resulting optimization problems, enabling all proposed clustering methods to scale well with large-scale data. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed methods are more effective than existing maximum margin clustering methods, particularly in high-dimensional clustering problems, highlighting the efficacy of the proposed methods. The location planning of relief distribution centres (DCs) is crucial in humanitarian logistics as it directly influences the disaster response and service to the affected victims. In light of the critical role of facility location in humanitarian logistics planning, the study proposes a two-stage relief distribution location problem. The first stage of the model determines the minimum number of relief DCs, and the second stage find the optimal location of these DCs to minimize the total cost. To address a more realistic situation, restrictions are imposed on the coverage area and capacity of each DCs. In addition, for optimally solving this complex NP-hard problem, a novel two-phase algorithm with exploration and exploitation phase is developed in the paper. The first phase of the algorithm i.e., exploration phase identifies a near-optimal solution while the second phase i.e. exploitation phase enhances the solution quality through a close circular proximity investigation. Furthermore, the comparative analysis of the proposed algorithm with other well-known algorithms such as genetic algorithm, pattern search, fmincon, multistart and hybrid heuristics is also reported and computationally tested from small to large data sets. The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) is a widely employed screening tool for the severity of cognitive impairment. Among the MMSE items, the pentagon copying test (PCT) requires participants to accurately replicate a sample of two interlocking pentagons. While the PCT is traditionally scored on a binary scale, there have been limited developments of granular scoring scale to assess task performance. In this paper, we present a novel three-stage algorithm, called Quantification of Interlocking Pentagons (QIP) which quantifies PCT performance by computing the areas of individual pentagons and their intersection areas, and a balance ratio between the areas of the two individual pentagons. The three stages of the QIP algorithm include: (1) detection of line segments, (2) unraveling of the interlocking pentagons, and (3) quantification of areas. A set of 497 PCTs from 84 participants including their baseline and follow-up PCTs from the Rush Memory and Aging Project was selected blinded about their cognitive and clinical status. Analysis of the quantified data revealed a significant inverse relationship between age and balance ratio (beta = − 0.49, p = 0.0033), indicating that older age was associated with a smaller balance ratio. In addition, balance ratio was associated with perceptual speed (r = 0.71, p = 0.0135), vascular risk factors (beta = − 3.96, p = 0.0269), and medical conditions (beta = − 2.78, p = 0.0389). This paper presents a fusion algorithm based on the enhanced RRT* TEB algorithm. The enhanced RRT* algorithm is utilized for generating an optimal global path. Firstly, proposing an adaptive sampling function and extending node bias to accelerate global path generation and mitigate local optimality. Secondly, eliminating path redundancy to minimize path length. Thirdly, imposing constraints on the turning angle of the path to enhance path smoothness. Conducting kinematic modeling of the mobile robot and optimizing the TEB algorithm to align the trajectory with the mobile robot's kinematics. The integration of these two algorithms culminates in the development of a fusion algorithm. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that, in contrast to the traditional RRT* algorithm, the enhanced RRT* algorithm achieves a 5.8% reduction in path length and a 62.5% decrease in the number of turning points. There are a series of challenges in microgrid transactions, and blockchain technology holds the promise of addressing these challenges. However, with the increasing number of users in microgrid transactions, existing blockchain systems may struggle to meet the growing demands for transactions. Therefore, this paper proposes an efficient and secure blockchain consensus algorithm designed to meet the demands of large-scale microgrid electricity transactions. The algorithm begins by utilizing a Spectral clustering algorithm to partition the blockchain network into different lower-level consensus set based on the transaction characteristics of nodes. Subsequently, a dual-layer consensus process is employed to enhance the efficiency of consensus. Additionally, we have designed a secure consensus set leader election strategy to promptly identify leaders with excellent performance. Finally, we have introduced an authentication method that combines zero-knowledge proofs and key sharing to further mitigate the risk of malicious nodes participating in the consensus. Theoretical analysis indicates that our proposed consensus algorithm, incorporating multiple layers of security measures, effectively withstands blockchain attacks such as denial of service. Recently, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted edge computing is proposed to improve the quality of service in some scenarios within sparse or unavailable base stations (BSs). Meanwhile, the caching technology is adopted to reduce the wireless traffic load and the data transmission delay. However, due to the limited storage capacity of edge nodes, the edge nodes cannot store all of the contents required by user equipment (UE). So, how to select the reasonable contents for caching on edge nodes to reduce the content delivery delay becomes a challenge in the UAV-assisted edge computing environment. In this paper, the Dijkstra algorithm based cooperative caching strategy for UAV-assisted edge computing system is proposed. Specially, the content transmission delay between two nodes is computed. Then, for each requested content, the weighted edge-undirected graph (WEUG), in which one vertex represents one node, is built. Furthermore, Dijkstra algorithm is adopted to achieve the minimal content transmission delay from the edge node caching the requested content to UE. Finally, the optimization problem of content caching is built, and the corresponding cache strategy is achieved by solving the optimization problem. The experimental results imply that the proposed cooperative caching algorithm can achieve better performance on the average content transmission delay, the average cache hit rate, and the total of hops, respectively, comparing with the benchmark algorithms. The back EMF-based sensorless control of PMSMs is widely applied to the blowers and hermetic compressors of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. For the sensorless control of PMSMs, a smooth transition from the I–f startup to the closed loop speed control with a rotor speed estimator is required. This paper proposes a smooth transition algorithm that can minimize torque and speed fluctuations under all load conditions. At the starting of a transition, the dq current based on the reference rotor position for I–f control is switched to the dq current with the estimated rotor position. The operating point of the dq current moves from I–f control to MTPA (maximum torque per ampere) operation, while the dq current follows a constant torque curve. Clustering, a well-studied problem in the machine learning community, becomes even more intriguing with the emergence of quantum machine learning. Specifically, exploring clustering techniques for quantum data, such as quantum states, holds great interest. This paper introduces a quantum state clustering algorithm that utilizes variational quantum circuits. Our algorithm transforms the clustering problem into a parameter optimization task involving parametric quantum circuits. Each cluster is represented by a variational quantum circuit (VQC), which learns to extract the distinctive feature of its corresponding cluster during the optimization process. To guide the optimization of circuit parameters, we design an objective function that encourages each cluster's feature extractor to produce features similar to states within its own cluster and dissimilar to states in other clusters. We construct four quantum state datasets for testing the effectiveness of our algorithm. The numerical results demonstrate that our algorithm can achieve satisfying performance. The application of autonomous driving technology in the field of transportation has become a hot research direction, and autonomous vehicles need to accurately detect and track moving targets around. As a kind of sensor widely used in the field of automatic driving, LiDAR has the characteristics of high precision and long distance detection. Therefore, this paper adopts a target detection algorithm based on three-dimensional LiDAR, which can identify moving targets accurately. Then the motion path of the detected target is captured and tracked by optical method, and the motion state of the target is monitored in real time. The experimental results show that the moving target detection algorithm and optical motion acquisition method based on 3D LiDAR can detect and track the moving target effectively, and capture its moving trajectory accurately. In this paper, we consider multi-objective optimization problems with a sparsity constraint on the vector of variables. For this class of problems, inspired by the homonymous necessary optimality condition for sparse single-objective optimization, we define the concept of L-stationarity and we analyze its relationships with other existing conditions and Pareto optimality concepts. We then propose two novel algorithmic approaches: the first one is an iterative hard thresholding method aiming to find a single L-stationary solution, while the second one is a two-stage algorithm designed to construct an approximation of the whole Pareto front. Both methods are characterized by theoretical properties of convergence to points satisfying necessary conditions for Pareto optimality. In this paper, we propose a Riemannian version of the difference of convex algorithm (DCA) to solve a minimization problem involving the difference of convex (DC) function. The equivalence between the classical and simplified Riemannian versions of the DCA is established. We also prove that under mild assumptions the Riemannian version of the DCA is well defined and every cluster point of the sequence generated by the proposed method, if any, is a critical point of the objective DC function. In this paper, we consider the matrix optimization problem with group sparsity and nonnegativity constraints. We analyze the optimality conditions and develop two matrix-based improved iterative hard thresholding algorithms for the problem, using the projected gradient method with the Armijo-type stepsize rule and the fixed stepsize, respectively. We then prove that the whole sequence generated by each of the proposed algorithm converges to a local minimizer of the optimization problem and establish the linear convergence rates as well as the iteration complexity results under mild conditions. This paper aims to globally solve a generalized affine fractional program problem (GAFPP). Firstly, by introducing some outer space variables and performing equivalent transformations, we can derive the equivalence problem (EP) of the GAFPP. Secondly, by constructing a novel linear relaxation method, we can deduce the affine relaxation problem (ARP) of the EP. Next, by solving the ARP to compute the lower bound, we propose a new outer space branch-and-bound algorithm for tackling the GAFPP. Aquila Optimization (AO) is a recently proposed meta-heuristic algorithm, which has been proved to be more competitive than other meta-heuristic algorithms in function optimization and practical applications. However, when solving more complex optimization problems, AO still has the shortcomings of local optimal stagnation and low solving accuracy. To overcome these shortcomings, an improved Aquila Optimization algorithm (IAO) is proposed in this paper. During the initialization of IAO population, a hybrid chaotic mapping mechanism was introduced to initialize the population, improving both the population diversity and the uniformity of the population distribution. The elite dimensional lens imaging learning strategy is introduced for elite individual to improve the optimization quality of the algorithm as elite individual has more useful information than ordinary individuals. Then the probabilistic jump mechanism of simulated annealing algorithm is used to select the position update mode to balance local development and global search. The experimental results on the CEC2005 test function verify the viability and effectiveness of IAO. IAO is used to the multi-threshold segmentation problem based on symmetric cross entropy to demonstrate its capacity to resolve practical optimization problems.
