The paper presents a computational and experimental investigation of integrated high-performance joints (IHPJs). The first type of the joints is presented by composite lugs and multiloop joints. Experimental and numerical stress analyses were carried out for single-loop specimens with different materials and geometrical parameters. Static and fatigue tension tests of IHPJs were also performed. The finite-element method and analytical methods were in good agreement in calculating the maximum tangential stress in the loop. Static failure criteria are proposed for the engineering design procedure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
