Aims: The extent of perihematomal edema following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) significantly impacts patient prognosis, and disruption of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) exacerbates perihematomal edema. However, the role of peripheral IL‐10 in mitigating BBB disruption through pathways that link peripheral and central nervous system signals remains poorly understood. Methods: Recombinant IL‐10 was administered to ICH model mice via caudal vein injection, an IL‐10‐inhibiting adeno‐associated virus and an IL‐10 receptor knockout plasmid were delivered intraventricularly, and neurobehavioral deficits, perihematomal edema, BBB disruption, and the expression of JAK1 and STAT3 were evaluated. Results: Our study demonstrated that the peripheral cytokine IL‐10 mitigated BBB breakdown, perihematomal edema, and neurobehavioral deficits after ICH and that IL‐10 deficiency reversed these effects, likely through the IL‐10R/JAK1/STAT3 signaling pathway. Background: Itch is the most common symptom of atopic dermatitis (AD) and significantly decreases the quality of life. Skin microbiome is involved in AD pathogenesis, whereas its role in the regulation of itch remains elusive. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of skin microbial metabolite propionate on acute and chronic pruritus and to explore the mechanism. Methods: Using various mouse models of itch, the roles of propionate were explored by behavioral tests and histopathology/immunofluorescent analysis. Primary‐cultured dorsal root ganglion neurons and HEK293 cells expressing recombinant human TRP channels were utilized for in vitro calcium imaging/in vivo miniature two‐photon imaging in combination with electrophysiology and molecular docking approaches for investigation of the mechanism. Results: Propionate significantly alleviated itch and alloknesis in various mouse models of pruritus and AD and decreased the density of intraepidermal nerve fibers. Propionate reduced the responsiveness of dorsal root ganglion neurons to pruritogens in vitro, attenuated the hyper‐excitability in sensory neurons in MC903‐induced AD model, and inhibited capsaicin‐evoked hTRPV1 currents (IC50 = 20.08 ± 1.11 μM) via interacting with the vanilloid binding site. Propionate also decreased the secretion of calcitonin gene‐related peptide by nerves in MC903‐induced AD mouse model, which further attenuated itch and skin inflammation. Conclusion: Our study revealed a protective effect of propionate against persistent itch through direct modulation of sensory TRP channels and neuropeptide production in neurons. Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) has attracted lots of attention in preventing the clearance of plasma low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C). PCSK9 inhibitors are developed to primarily reduce the cardiovascular risk by lowering LDL‐C level. Recently, a number of pleiotropic extrahepatic functions of PCSK9 beyond the regulation of cholesterol metabolism, particularly its effects on central nervous system (CNS) diseases have been increasingly identified. Emerging clinical evidence have revealed that PCSK9 may play a significant role in neurocognition, depression, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke. The focus of this review is to elucidate the functions of PCSK9 and highlight the effects of PCSK9 in CNS diseases, with the aim of identifying the potential risks that may arise from low PCSK9 level (variant or inhibitor) in the clinical practice. By resorting to the principle of remote activation, we herein demonstrate the first photoredox catalyzed (3+3) dipolar cycloaddition of nitrones with aryl cyclopropanes. Key to the fidelity of the reaction resides in a facile manner of substrate activation by single‐electron transfer (SET) oxidation with photoredox catalysis, and the reaction takes place through a stepwise cascade encompassing a three‐electron‐type nucleophilic substitution triggered cyclopropane ring‐opening and a diastereoselective 6‐endo‐trig radical cyclization manifold. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions with excellent regio‐ and stereoselectivity, nicely complementing the well‐developed Lewis acid catalyzed cycloaddition of donor‐acceptor cyclopropanes. Other merits of the protocol include wide scope of aryl cyclopropanes with diversified substitution patterns and good functional‐group compatibility. This article mainly discusses the problem for adaptive event‐triggered H∞$$ \infty $$ state estimation of semi‐Markovian jump neural networks (s‐MJNNs) subject to random sensor nonlinearity. To reduce the communication load, adaptive event‐triggered scheme (AETS) is introduced to decide whether to transmit sampled data or not. Also, considering the possible sensor nonlinearity, a new estimation error model is established under the framework of AETS. An appropriate Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF) containing the proposed adaptive event trigger condition is constructed, and sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the estimation error system. Then, through a set of feasible linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), the co‐design method of estimator and AETS is proposed. A synthetic strategy for the construction of 2,2‐disubstituted indolin‐3‐ones from 2‐alkynylnitroarenes and ketones has been described. The corresponding indolin‐3‐one derivatives were afforded in moderate to excellent product yields by using mild conditions. After a Wittig‐like process, the key intermediates 3H‐indol‐3‐ones were generated from 2‐alkynylnitroarenes, which could be further transformed to the desired products through a Mannich addition. Objective: To compare the outcomes of postacute care between home health (HH) and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) following hospitalization among Medicare beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia. Data Sources: 100% MedPAR data, Minimum Data Set, and Outcome and Assessment Information Set assessment data from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016. Study Design: Retrospective cohort analysis using an instrumental variable design to compare outcomes (30‐day readmission and mortality, 100‐day mortality) of HH versus SNF following acute hospitalization. We used the differential distance between patients' home and the closest HH agency and SNF to instrument for nonrandom allocation of patients. Data Collection/Extraction Methods: We identified hospital discharges followed by SNF and HH stays for Medicare fee‐for‐service beneficiaries with dementia. We excluded beneficiaries younger than age 65, admitted to the hospital from a nursing home, or enrolled in hospice. We identified dementia using validated diagnostic codes with a 3‐year look‐back. Principal Findings: Our sample included 977,946 beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia; 297,732 (30.4%) received HH, while 680,214 (69.6%) went to SNF. Overall, 16.8% were readmitted to the hospital and 6.1% died within 30 days, while 15.4% died within 100 days of hospital discharge. In the instrumental variable analysis, there were no differences in any outcome between the two postacute care settings. Conclusions: Medicare beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia receiving postacute care in HH or SNF experienced similar rates of readmission and mortality across settings. This finding raises important questions about current postacute care referral patterns, given 7 in 10 patients with a diagnosis of dementia in our sample were discharged to SNF. Objective: We aimed to investigate the clinical outcomes of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for the treatment of colorectal laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) and the factors related to technical difficulty. Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent ESD for colorectal LSTs between June 2013 and January 2019 were retrospectively included. Factors associated with difficult ESD procedures (defined as conversion to piecemeal resection or discontinuation of endoscopic procedure), and dissection with a slow speed (<8 mm2/min), were determined using the logistic regression analysis. Results: A total of 325 patients with 342 colorectal LSTs (median size 20.0 mm) were enrolled. The proportions of granular (LST‐G) and non‐granular LST (LST‐NG) were 62.9% and 37.1%, respectively. The overall en bloc and complete resection rates were 89.8% and 81.9%, respectively. The endoscopic procedure was discontinued in four lesions (1.2%), and 31 (9.1%) converted to piecemeal resection because of technical difficulty. Using multivariate analysis, positive non‐lifting sign (odds ratio [OR] 19.9, P < 0.001), tumor size ≥20 mm (OR 10.0, P < 0.001), and less experienced endoscopists (OR 3.7, P = 0.005) were independent factors for technically difficult procedure. Positive non‐lifting sign (OR 3.7, P = 0.004), lesion size <20 mm (OR 3.7, P < 0.001), LST‐NG type (OR 1.8, P = 0.034), and less colorectal ESD experience (OR 1.9, P = 0.016) were independent factors of slow‐speed dissection. Conclusions: ESD was feasible and safe for treating colorectal LSTs. Positive non‐lifting sign and tumor ≥20 mm indicated difficult ESD procedures. Technical failure was more likely to occur in lesions resected by less‐experienced endoscopists. Dissection speed might be improved with more experienced operators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We perform structural analysis and calculate the vibrational energy diffusivities, represented as heat‐communication map, between a carbonic anhydrase II and its binding inhibitor benzosulfonamide, to identify critical residues involved in the secondary and tertiary adaptations surrounding the active site, such as HID95, HIE118, HID93, THR197, and HIE198. Notably, the water molecules surrounding the active sites play an essential part in the energy flow. The stability of the docked ligand is assessed using its structural deviation and free energy calculation. Additionally, density functional theory calculations are used to evaluate specific binding energies, resulting in prominent residues such as THR197, THR198, and HIE118 with high binding potential to the benzosulfonamide ligand. With the development of smart grids, appliance‐level data information plays a vital role in smart power consumption. Nowadays, appliance signatures detected by non‐intrusive load monitoring (NILM) can be used for anomaly detection, demand response, and electricity management. These applications increase the requirements for the accuracy of appliance identification in NILM. And it has been proved that the voltage–current (V–I) trajectory can be applied as an effective load signature to represent the electrical characteristics of appliances with different statuses in previous researches. In this paper, a V–I trajectory enabled asymmetric deep supervised hashing (ADSH) method has been proposed for NILM. ADSH method converts load identification into the large‐scale approximate nearest neighbour search. Different from the existing methods, ADSH treats the query images and database images in an asymmetric way in order to improve accuracy. More specifically, ADSH learns a deep hash function only for query images, while the hash codes for database images are directly learned. The experimental results on REDD and PLAID datasets show that the proposed method significantly improves the accuracy of load identification compared with state‐of‐art methods. Background: More than 600,000 Medicare beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia are discharged to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) after hospitalization annually. However, it is unclear how their risks and benefits of a SNF stay compare to beneficiaries without a diagnosis of dementia. Design Retrospective analysis comparing SNF outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries with and without a diagnosis of dementia. Setting: One hundred percent sample of Medicare beneficiaries from 2015 to 2016. Participants: Dementia was identified using validated diagnosis codes. In beneficiaries who had an acute hospitalization followed by SNF stay, we used propensity score matching to balance demographics, comorbidities, characteristics of the index hospital stay, prior hospital and SNF utilization, and cognitive status on SNF admission. Measurements Outcomes included unplanned hospital readmission, community discharge rate, and mortality during the SNF stay. Multivariate models were adjusted for hospital and SNF characteristics. Results: Our sample included 2,418,853 Medicare beneficiaries discharged from hospital to SNF; 830,524 (34.3%) carried a diagnosis of dementia. Overall, 14.7% of the sample had a hospital readmission, 5.0% died, and 61.5% were successfully discharged to the community. In the propensity‐matched cohort, beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia had a lower odds ratio of mortality (OR 0.87; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.86–0.89), similar odds of hospital readmission (OR 0.99; 95% CI 0.98–1.00), and reduced odds of discharge to the community (OR 0.92; 95% CI 0.91–0.93). However, these findings varied by the severity of cognitive impairment on SNF admission: in beneficiaries with no impairment, those with a diagnosis of dementia had higher odds of adverse outcomes. In beneficiaries with severe impairment, beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia had lower odds of adverse outcomes. Conclusions: Cognitive dysfunction on SNF admission is a stronger predictor of outcomes than a diagnosis of dementia, suggesting the need to individualize decisions about the benefits and risks of SNF care in populations with cognitive impairment. Tailoring of organometallics structure toward desirable properties continues to be both fascinating and challenging in the field of materials science. Herein, a novel ferrocene derivative with long straight‐chain alkane mono‐substituent is synthesized and used as multifunctional organometallic additive in the base oil. This ferrocene‐based organometallic compound (MFc) is synthesized via the Friedel‐Crafts acylation of ferrocene with myristyl chloride, followed by reduction with sodium borohydride. The chemical structure, crystallizability, surface morphology, and the thermal properties of the as‐synthesized compound are systematically characterized. As the iron‐containing standard substance, the MFc was preferable dissolve in lubricating oil with the iron element content as high as 2*105 ppm. Resultantly, the MFc/oil solutions exhibited excellent stability even after high‐speed centrifugal treatment, long‐term storage up to 3 months, and ultra‐low temperature treatment at −40°C for 24 h. Moreover, the MFc as a functional lubricant additive could reduce the average wear scar diameter, wear volume, and coefficient of friction with 40%, 73%, and 18%, respectively, as compared to the corresponding pure base oil. This synthetic strategy provides a novel perspective for the design of functional organometallics, and the as‐synthesized novel ferrocene derivative may find a wide range of advanced potential applications in analytical chemistry, tribology, and interfacial science. Purpose: We investigated the role of farnesoid X receptor (FXR), a ligand‐dependent transcription factor, in renal ischaemia‐reperfusion (I/R) injury. Materials and Methods: We performed unilateral renal I/R model in FXR knockout (Fxr−/−) and wild‐type (WT) mice in vivo and a hypoxia‐reoxygenation (H/R) model in vitro. The pathways by which FXR induces apoptosis were detected using a proteome profiler array. The effects of FXR on apoptosis were evaluated using immunoblotting, TUNEL assays and flow cytometry. Results: Compared with WT mice, Fxr−/− mice showed improved renal function and reduced tubular injury scores and apoptosis. Consistent with the in vivo results, the silencing of FXR decreased the number of apoptotic HK‐2 cells after H/R, while FXR overexpression aggravated apoptosis. Notably, bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and immunohistochemistry experiments revealed the involvement of FXR in the tubular epithelium rather than in inflammatory cells. Furthermore, in vivo and in vitro studies demonstrated that FXR deficiency increased phosphorylated Bcl‐2 agonist of cell death (p‐Bad) expression levels and the ratio of Bcl‐2/Bcl‐xL to Bax expression in the kidney. Treatment with wortmannin, which reduced p‐Bad expression, inhibited the effects of FXR deficiency and eliminated the tolerance of Fxr−/− mouse kidneys to I/R injury. Conclusions: These results established the pivotal importance of FXR inactivation in tubular epithelial cells after I/R injury. Rationale: High‐resolution mass spectrometry based non‐targeted screening has a huge potential for applications in environmental sciences, engineering and regulation. However, it produces large datasets for which full appropriate processing is a real challenge; the development of processing software is the last building‐block to enable large‐scale use of this approach. Methods: A new software application, SPIX, has been developed to extract relevant information from high‐resolution mass spectral datasets. Dealing with intrinsic sample variability and reducing operator subjectivity, it opens up opportunities and promising prospects in many areas of analytical chemistry. SPIX is freely available at: http://spix.webpopix.org. Results: Two features of the software are presented in the field of environmental analysis. An example illustrates how SPIX reveals photodegradation reactions in wastewater by fitting kinetic models to significant changes in ion abundance over time. A second example shows the ability of SPIX to detect photoproducts at trace amounts in river water, through comparison of datasets from samples taken before and after irradiation. Conclusions: SPIX has shown its ability to reveal relevant modifications between two series of large datasets, allowing, for instance, the study of the consequences of a given event on a complex substrate. In this paper, the stability and synchronization problems of fractional‐order delayed multilink complex networks with nonlinear hybrid couplings are investigated simultaneously, where discrete time‐varying delays and distributed time‐varying delays are both taken into account. By virtue of graph‐theoretic approach and Lyapunov method, under feedback control, some criteria are established to guarantee that the underlying networks achieve stability and synchronization. The obtained criteria are related to topological structure of subsystems, control gain, and the upper bound of time‐varying delays. Furthermore, in order to show practicality, the obtained results are applied to fractional‐order delayed multilink competitive neural networks with nonlinear hybrid couplings and fractional‐order Lorenz chaotic delayed coupled systems with nonlinear hybrid couplings, respectively. Summary of main observation and conclusion: We developed a method for comprehensively profiling drug‐protein interactions using micro‐column affinity purification (AP) combined with label‐free quantitative (LFQ) proteomics as well as the statistical and bioinformatics analysis. FK506 was used as the experimental model for proof of concept. The true interacting proteins were distinguished from the background proteins by their fold changes of FLQ intensities combined with p‐values. Totally 116 FK506 interacting proteins including 5 known target proteins were identified. The method was validated by using the LFQ intensity of the endogenous known drug targets together with statistical analysis. We demonstrated that the micro‐column‐based affinity purification in combination with LFQ proteomics provides a highly reproducible and robust approach for profiling drug‐protein interactions. This study shows that Fe‐based catalysts with moderate Mn and Na contents are highly selective for CO2 hydrogenation to olefins, together with low selectivities for both CO and CH4 and much improved space‐time olefin yields compared to state‐of‐the‐art catalysts. Combined kinetic assessment and quasi in situ characterizations further unveil that the sole presence of Mn suppresses the activity of Fe catalysts because of the close contact between Fe and Mn, whereas the introduction of Na mediates the Fe–Mn interaction and provides strong basic sites. This subtle synergy between Na and Mn sheds light on the importance of the interplay of multiple additives that could bring an enabling strategy to improve catalytic activity and selectivity. Background: Major perioperative complications of stent‐assisted embolization treated for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients include the formation of thromboembolic events (TEs) and hemorrhagic events (HEs), for which antiplatelet protocols play a key role. Methods: We conducted a single‐center retrospective analysis to compare the differences between arteriovenous tirofiban administration with traditional oral dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT). A total of 417 consecutive patients were enrolled. General clinical characteristics, as well as the perioperative ischemic and hemorrhagic events, were retracted in digital documents. Logistic regression was conducted to identify both risk and protective factors of perioperative TEs and HEs. Results: Perioperative TEs occurred in 21 patients, with an overall perioperative TEs rate of approximately 5.04%; among these patients, the incidence of perioperative TEs in the tirofiban group was less than that in the DAPT group. Additionally, 66 patients developed perioperative HEs, with an incidence of approximately 15.83%; among these patients, the incidence of perioperative HEs was less than that in the DAPT group. No significant differences were seen between the two groups in terms of the mRS score at the time of discharge. Conclusion: This study indicated that an improved perioperative antiplatelet drug tirofiban was an independent protective factor for perioperative TEs in stent‐assisted embolization of ruptured intracranial aneurysms, but it did not impart an elevated risk of perioperative HEs and had no significant effects on the near‐term prognosis of the patients. Early embryonic arrest is one of the major causes of recurrent assisted reproduction failure. It is characterized by delayed embryonic development and failure to form viable eight‐cell stage embryos on day 3 of an assisted reproduction cycle. A recent study reported that biallelic mutations in NLRP5 can cause early embryonic arrest. NLRP5 is a member of subcortical maternal complex, which plays a significant role in embryogenesis. In this study, we described a female in a consanguineous Chinese family who displayed clinical features of early embryonic arrest and identified a novel homozygous variant c.1061C>T (p.Pro354Leu) in NLRP5. This is the second report of the biallelic NLRP5 variant that associates with early embryonic arrest in humans, further confirming the role of NLRP5 variants in early embryonic arrest and expanding the spectrum of known pathogenic variants in NLRP5. Motivated by Markovian regime‐switching diffusion (MRSD), time‐varying delays and non‐linear coupling forms, this study is concerned with stabilisation of coupled regime‐switching diffusion with time‐varying delays (CRSDTD) under periodically intermittent control. Compared with most papers investigating MRSD, a striking feature of regime‐switching diffusion is that in the two‐component process (x(t),α(t)), switching process α(t) depends on the diffusion x(t), which can be regarded as the x ‐dependent process briefly. It is worth mentioning that time‐varying delays and non‐linear coupling forms are taken into consideration when modelling, which makes their work more realistic. Moreover, a periodically intermittent controller is adopted to guarantee that CRSDTD can achieve the p th moment exponential stability and some sufficient conditions are derived by using the Lyapunov method and Kirchhoff's matrix tree theorem. Furthermore, to illustrate the applicability of their theoretical results, an application to regime‐switching coupled oscillators with time‐varying delays (RSCOTD) is presented and a stability criterion is given. This paper concentrates on the global synchronization of the fractional‐order multi‐linked complex network (FMCN) via periodically intermittent control. It should be stressed that periodically intermittent control is employed to the FMCN for the first time. Moreover, the network is defined on digraphs with different weights, and two situations on topological structure of the network are discussed, including each digraph being strongly connected, and the biggest one being strongly connected. Based on Lyapunov method and graph theory, some synchronization criteria are obtained under two situations. And, the obtained synchronization criteria have a close relationship with the order of fractional‐order derivative, coupling strength, control gain, control rate, and control period. Besides, for practicability, theoretical results are applied to studying the synchronization of fractional‐order multi‐linked chaotic systems, and some sufficient conditions are provided. For a special case, fractional‐order multi‐linked Lorenz chaotic systems, numerical simulations are given to indicate the feasibility of theoretical results and the effectiveness of control strategy. Pyridyl‐pyrrole ligands usually mimic the polypyridine ligand, and their metal complexes are interesting due to their rich coordination chemistry and their use in molecular devices, biological therapeutics, and catalytic transformations. Cs‐symmetric HL3 ligand Br‐substituted on one of the pyridyl rings was designed and synthesized by Paal–Knorr pyrrole condensation. Ligand HL4 was synthesized by Suzuki‐coupling reaction between HL3 and 2‐thiopheneboronic acid in the presence of K2CO3 and Pd(PPh3)4 in degassed THF/H2O solution. Zinc complexes 1–5 with HL1 to HL5 were prepared by treatment of the corresponding pyridyl‐pyrrole ligands with diethylzinc in toluene at 0 °C in high yield. Ligand HL3 and all zinc complexes are characterized by X‐ray diffraction analysis. The structure of free HL3 is planar. The geometries at Zn in 1, 2, and 5 are compressed octahedra, while in 3 and 4 they are perhaps best described as being between cis‐divacant octahedral and distorted tetrahedral. In these zinc complexes, shorter Zn–Npyrrole [1.878(5)‐1.950(4) Å] and longer Zn–Npyridine [2.108(5)‐2.509(3) Å], Zn‐Npendant pyridine [2.802(2)‐3.039(3) Å] bond lengths are observed. Complexes 2 and 3 were used as catalysts to promote the coupling reaction of CO2 and various epoxides under solvent‐free conditions, and the catalytic mechanism was investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Zinc complexes with tridentate pyridyl‐pyrrole ligands were synthesized and fully characterized by NMR, IR, and UV/Vis spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction. These zinc complexes were used as efficient catalyst for the coupling reaction of epoxides and CO2 to form cyclic carbonates with low catalyst loading at ambient temperature and normal pressure under solvent‐free conditions. Summary: In this study, we isolated a novel polysaccharide (YZ‐2) (molecular weight: 5345.3 Da) from Polygonatum odoratum (Mill.) Druce and investigated its physicochemical properties and antidiabetic effects in the type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) mice induced by a low dose of streptozotocin coupled with a high‐fat diet. The results showed that YZ‐2 had no triple‐helix conformation and was mainly composed of α‐mannopyranose, α‐glucopyranose and α‐galactopyranose residues. Moreover, YZ‐2 could significantly decrease the fasting blood glucose (Glc) level (P < 0.01), the serum TC, TG and LDL‐c concentrations (P < 0.05), as well as the fasting insulin level and improve the Glc tolerance capacity in the T2DM mice. Additionally, YZ‐2 could protect livers and pancreas by remarkably increasing SOD and CAT activities and GSH content (P < 0.05) in the liver of T2DM mice. Collectively, these results suggested that YZ‐2 could be a promising functional food supplement for T2DM treatment. In the Tongshankou porphyry deposit (SE Hubei Province, South China), three types of K-feldspars are recognized: (I) the phenocryst type in the porphyry that crystalized during the magmatic stage, (II) the megacryst type and (III) the vein type in the altered porphyry and orebody that was produced by hydrothermal fluids. A detailed in-situ analysis of trace elements and Sr-Pb isotopes was carried out on K-feldspars in an attempt to unravel their formation processes and to trace the element sources during potassic alteration. The Type III K-feldspars show lower Sr contents and Sr-isotope ratios but higher Pb contents and Pb-isotope ratios than the Type I and II K-feldspars, possibly reflecting a contribution from the country carbonate rocks with less radiogenic Sr but more radiogenic Pb sources, and indicate that the ore-forming fluids and materials may have been partially derived from external sources such as the host sedimentary rocks during the early potassic alteration stage. Ir species demonstrated a strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) with the CeO2 substrate. The chemical state of Ir could be finely tuned by altering the loading of the metal. In the carbon dioxide (CO2) hydrogenation reaction it was shown that the chemical state of Ir species-induced by a SMSI-has a major impact on the reaction selectivity. Direct evidence is provided indicating that a single-site catalyst is not a prerequisite for inhibition of methanation and sole production of carbon monoxide (CO) in CO2 hydrogenation. The photoinduced regio- and enantioselective coupling of naphthols and derivatives thereof is achieved in the confined chiral coordination space of a RuII metalloligand based cage. The racemic or enantiopure cages encapsulate naphthol guests, which then undergo a regiospecific 1,4-coupling, rather than the normal 1,1-coupling, to form 4-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)-1,2-napthoquinones; moderate stereochemical control is achieved with homochiral cages. The photoreactions proceed under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions but through distinct pathways that nevertheless involve the same radical intermediates. This unusual dimerization constitutes a very rare example of asymmetric induction in biaryl coupling by making use of coordination cages with dual functionality-photoredox reactivity and stereoselectivity. Systematic NMR characterization of 4-thio-5-furan-pyrimidine nucleosides or 4-thio-5-thiophene-pyrimidine nucleosides (ribonucleosides and 2′-deoxynucleosides) was performed. All proton and carbon signals of 4-thio-5-thiophene-ribouridine and related analogues were unambiguously assigned. The orientations of the base (4-thiouridine or its deoxy analogue) relative to the ring (furan or thiophene) are explored by a NMR approach and further supported by X-ray crystallographic studies. Current evidences show that copy number variations (CNVs) are linked to complex phenotypic traits. Leptin receptor ( LEPR) gene plays a critical role in energy homeostasis and fat development and re-sequencing of the cattle genome revealed the CNV region (herein referred to as 'I3 DNA') within the LEPR intron 3. In the present study, we qualified copy numbers of I3 DNA within LEPR gene in four cattle breeds (Qinchuan, Nanyang, Jinnan and Xianan) by quantitative PCR, and explored their impacts on LEPR gene expression and phenotypic traits in Qinchuan and Nanyang cattle. The results showed that more individuals in Nanyang are with loss of the I3 DNA copy number than that in the others. Additionally, I3 DNA CNVs exhibited a significant negative correlation with LEPR gene expression ( P < 0.05). Association analysis showed that gain/normal copy number types performed better traits of body weight, body height and body length than the loss type in Nanyang. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first evidence of the association between LEPR CNVs and cattle traits, and this may help deep understanding of the function of CNVs which may be promising markers for beef cattle breeding and genetics. © 2015 Japanese Society of Animal Science [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cyclobutanes and cyclobutenes are important structural motifs found in numerous biologically significant molecules, and they are useful intermediates for chemical synthesis. Consequently, [2+2] cycloadditions to access cyclobutanes and cyclobutenes have been established to be particularly useful transformations. Within the last 10 years, an increase in the frequency of publications for catalytic enantioselective [2+2] cycloadditions has occurred. These reactions provide access to a wide array of enantiomerically enriched chemical diversity that was not previously attainable. Research Objective: To compare the outcomes of post‐acute care between home health (HH) and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) following hospitalization among Medicare beneficiaries with dementia. Despite the fact that both post‐acute care use and dementia are highly prevalent in the Medicare population, very few studies have compared the outcomes of different post‐acute care settings for patients with dementia, leaving patients, caregivers, and clinicians uncertain how to make optimal decisions around hospital discharge. Study Design: Retrospective analysis of secondary data using an instrumental variable design to compare outcomes of HH versus SNF following an acute hospitalization. We used a 100% sample of Medicare inpatient, outpatient, and post‐acute care claims and assessment data from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016 and used differential distance between home health and SNF as the instrumental variable to account for nonrandom allocation of patients (F‐statistic: 26.5). Outcomes included unplanned 30‐day readmission, 30‐ and 100‐day mortality, and a composite measure of readmission and mortality to address competing risks. Our analysis adjusted for beneficiary characteristics and year of analysis, included fixed effects for hospital and year, and adjusted for clustering at the hospital level. Population Studied: We used MedPAR to identify hospitalizations and Minimum Data Set and Outcome and Assessment Information Set assessments to identify SNF and HH stays following hospital discharge. We excluded beneficiaries younger than age 65, admitted to the hospital from a nursing home, or were enrolled in hospice. We identified dementia using validated diagnostic codes with a three‐year look‐back. We also measured demographics, comorbidities, characteristics of the index hospital stay, prior health care utilization, and both cognitive and physical function on admission to post‐acute care. Principal Findings: Our sample included 1,369,192 beneficiaries with a diagnosis of dementia; 404,539 (29.5%) received HH, while 964,653 (70.5%) went to SNF. The cohort was older (mean age 83), approximately 70% were cognitively impaired on SNF admission, and only 30.4% of patients were independent in Activities of Daily Living. Overall, 16.1% were readmitted to the hospital and 5.9% died within 30 days, while 19.5% died within 100 days of hospital discharge. In the instrumental variable analysis, there were no differences in any outcome between the two post‐acute care settings. These findings were similar when the analysis was stratified by degree of cognitive impairment. Conclusions: In a sample of more than 1.6 million Medicare beneficiaries discharged to post‐acute care following hospitalization, use of home health services and SNF were equivalent in terms of unplanned readmissions and 30‐ and 100‐day mortality. These are important findings given more than 7 in 10 Medicare beneficiaries with dementia are currently discharged to SNF for post‐acute care at much higher cost than HH, and the prevalence of both dementia and post‐acute care use are increasing in the United States. Novel composite photocatalysts consisting of CdS and graphitic carbon nitride (CdS/g-C3N4) with different ratios of CdS were prepared. The CdS/g-C3N4 composite photocatalysts were characterized in detail and their photocatalytic activity was evaluated by using rhodamine B and colorless metronidazole as probes. Compared with pure g-C3N4, the CdS/ g-C3N4 composite exhibits significantly enhanced photocatalytic activity under visible-light irradiation. More importantly, g-C3N4 substantially reinforces the photostability of CdS nanowires even in a nonsacrificial system. The synergistic effect between CdS and g-C3N4 is found to be primarily responsible for enhancement of the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, which helps improve the photocatalytic performance. A probable photodegradation process of metronidazole was proposed based on an analysis of the degradation products. This study provides new insight into the preparation of highly efficient and stable sulfidebased composite photocatalysts and facilitates their application in a number of environmentally sensitive areas. The two-dimensional (2D) cluster-based silver(I) complex {[Ag2(μ3-L1)2(μ2-HL1)] ·H2O ·3NO3} n ( 1) was isolated under hydrothermal conditions using the multi-dentate triazole derivative ligand 4-(4-aminobenzene)-1, 2, 4-triazole (L1) and the corresponding silver(I) salts. The results indicate that 1 is constructed by tetranuclear AgI clusters as secondary building blocks. Each tetranuclear AgI cluster links four neighboring AgI clusters by eight bridging μ3-L1 ligands forming a two-dimensional (2D) microporous cluster-based framework. Compound 1 also represents a scarcely reported example of coordination frameworks with 4-(4-aminobenzene)-1, 2, 4-triazole. The solid-state fluorescence spectrum of 1 exhibits strong red-shifted enhanced photoluminescence emission in comparison with that of free L1. The versatile bidentate and tridentate coordination modes of L1 in 1 together with flexible dihedral angles between aromatic benzene and triazole rings also reveal great potential in the construction of functional frameworks with L1. Exposure to natural and human-made disasters is associated with long-term health consequences, including for mental health. Parents who have lost children, particularly their only children, in any circumstances are also at increased risk of developing mental health problems. The aim of this study was to review the available evidence about the psychological and social consequences for parents who had faced these circumstances simultaneously through losing children in a disaster. Systematic searching of the English and Chinese language literatures about the psychological and social functioning of bereaved parents after disasters revealed that a small number of studies met inclusion criteria. The results showed that bereaved parents had more mental health problems than bereaved spouses and non-bereaved parents, and mothers appeared to be more vulnerable to mental health problems than fathers. Potential protective factors for bereaved parents' mental health included having psychological interventions, having adequate social support, seeing their children's bodies and having a subsequent baby. Although the literature was modest and methodologically diverse, there was a consistent finding that parents who have lost children in disasters were at high risk of suffering mental health problems, especially bereaved mothers. As there was little evidence, further studies are needed to understand the best advice and interventions to offer bereaved parents and provide enhanced mental health care of such bereaved populations after disasters. An enhancement of the cardiac sympathetic afferent reflex (CSAR) contributes to sympathetic activation in renovascular hypertension. Angiotensin II in the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) augments the CSAR and increases sympathetic outflow and blood pressure. The present study aimed to determine whether endogenous hydrogen peroxide in the PVN mediated the enhanced CSAR, sympathetic activity and the effects of angiotensin II in the PVN in renovascular hypertension induced by the two-kidney, one-clip method (2K1C) in rats. At the end of the fourth week, the rats underwent sino-aortic and vagal denervation under general anaesthesia with urethane and α-chloralose. Renal sympathetic nerve activity (RSNA) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) were recorded. The CSAR was evaluated by the RSNA response to epicardial application of bradykinin. Microinjection of polyethylene glycol-catalase (PEG-CAT), an analogue of endogenous catalase, into the PVN decreased the RSNA and MAP and abolished the CSAR in both sham-operated and 2K1C rats. Microinjection into the PVN of the catalase inhibitor, aminotriazole, increased the RSNA and MAP and enhanced the CSAR. The effects of PEG-CAT or aminotriazole were greater in 2K1C rats than in sham-operated animals. The effects of angiotensin II in the PVN were abolished by pretreatment with PEG-CAT in both sham-operated and 2K1C rats; however, aminotriazole failed to potentiate the effects of angiotensin II. The catalase activity was decreased but the H2O2 levels were increased in the PVN of 2K1C rats. These results indicate that endogenous H2O2 in the PVN not only mediates the enhanced sympathetic activity and CSAR, but also the effects of angiotensin II in the PVN in renovascular hypertensive rats. The cyanobacterial gene cluster kaiABC encodes three essential circadian clock proteins: KaiA, KaiB and KaiC. The KaiB and KaiC protein levels are robustly rhythmical, whereas the KaiA protein abundance undergoes little if any circadian oscillation in constant light. The level of the KaiC protein is crucial for correct functioning of the clock because induction of the protein at phases when the protein level is normally low elicits phase resetting. Titration of the effects of the inducer upon phase resetting versus KaiC level shows a direct correlation between induction of the KaiC protein within the physiological range and significant phase shifting. The protein synthesis inhibitor chloramphenicol prevents the induction of KaiC and blocks phase shifting. When the metabolism is repressed by either translational inhibition or constant darkness, the rhythm of KaiC abundance persists; therefore, clock protein expression has a preferred status under a variety of conditions. In this research, we studied a roller‐compacted concrete (RCC) arch dam which was reinforced during the construction period to investigate the properties of mechanical parameters of the dam concrete after long‐term operation. Firstly, multiple methods involving core drilling, computerized tomography (CT), spectral analysis of the surface wave (SASW) of elastic waves, and an on‐site inspection were adopted to detect the quality of the dam concrete, which was followed by a forward‐analysis of the measured displacement of the arch dam and the water pressure component of the measured displacement was separated through regression analysis of statistical model of radial horizontal displacement. Subsequently, an optimization inversion of the elastic modulus of the dam body and dam foundation was conducted using a hybrid optimization method. The results showed that the compressive strength of the concrete in the body of the reinforced arch dam was over 30 MPa and the inversion results for the elastic modulus of the dam body were in the range of 30.1 ~ 33.3 GPa. According to the research results of multi‐source inspected and monitoring data during the operation period, the results suggest that the performance of the concrete of the dam body is in accordance with design requirements and the reinforced arch dam is properly operated. The freshwater crayfish Procambarus clarkii is native to North America and Mexico, and it was introduced to China in 1929. The production and consumption of P. clarkii in China are the highest worldwide, reaching 208.96 million tons in 2020. The white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is a major pathogen that affects shrimp, crayfish, crabs and lobsters, and it has caused widespread loss to the P. clarkii industry. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate (EGCG), a small‐molecule compound, has a multitude of biological functions and the ability to bind to the 37 kDa/67 kDa laminin receptor (LamR). EGCG has potential antiviral effects against WSSV. In this study, we evaluated the potential anti‐WSSV applications of EGCG in P. clarkii. We demonstrated that various concentrations (10 μg/g·bw, 20 μg/g·bw and 40 μg/g·bw) of EGCG can suppress WSSV infection in P. clarkii. Histopathological examination revealed no characteristic pathological changes due to EGCG administration in P. clarkii tissues. Furthermore, pharmacokinetics studies of EGCG in P. clarkii revealed its rapid absorption (Tmax = 2 h), and the peak concentrations of EGCG were 73.78 µg/g in the liver and 24.87 µg/g in the muscle. The excited state properties of thionated 5‐fluorouridine (2′,3′,5′‐tri‐O‐acetyl‐5‐fluoro‐4‐thiouridine; ta5F4TUrd), synthesized with Lawesson's reagent, have been intensively investigated with nanosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, time‐resolved thermal lensing, near‐infrared emission, and quantum chemical calculation. The intrinsic triplet lifetime of ta5F4TUrd was determined to be 4.2±0.7 μs in acetonitrile, and the formation quantum yield of the excited triplet state was as large as 0.79±0.01. The quenching rate constants of the triplet ta5F4TUrd by the dissolved oxygen molecule and by the self‐quenching process were found to be nearly equal to the diffusion‐controlled rate of acetonitrile. The quantum yield of the singlet molecular oxygen produced through energy transfer between the triplet ta5F4TUrd and the dissolved oxygen, ΦΔ, was successfully determined to be 0.61±0.02 under the oxygen‐saturated condition. From the oxygen concentration dependence of the ΦΔ value, the fraction of triplet ta5F4TUrd quenched by dissolved oxygen which gives rise to the 1O2* formation, SΔ, was successfully obtained to be 0.78±0.01, which was the largest among the thionucleobases and the thionucleosides reported so far. Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the survival rate of patients with different bone sarcomas and to investigate homogenous and heterogenous prognostic factors for different types of bone sarcomas. Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of records from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result (SEER) database. Clear information on the distant metastasis of cancer is provided in the SEER database for patients diagnosed between January 2010 and December 2016. Data for the four types of malignant bone sarcomas were extracted, including osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and chordoma. Patients with bone sarcomas originated from other sites, diagnosed at autopsy, or indicated in death certification were excluded. The overall survival was calculated for the entire cohort and across different bone sarcomas using the Kaplan–Meier method. A subgroup analysis of the different survival rates of four types of bone sarcomas in various levels of each variable was conducted and the differences were tested with the log‐rank test. Cox proportional hazard regression analysis was performed to determine the prognostic factors. Variables with P < 0.05 in the univariate Cox regression analysis were further analyzed using a multivariate Cox regression analysis. The prognostic factors in four groups of bone sarcomas were compared to determine the homogenous and heterogenous factors. Results: A total of 4732 patients were included with a follow up of 25 (0–83) months. The mean age of patients was 39.7 ± 24.1 years. The 1‐year, 3‐year, and 5‐year overall survival rate for the entire cohort was 86.2% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 85.2%–87.2%), 70.5% (95% CI: 68.9%–72.1%), and 63.0% (95% CI: 61.2%–64.8%), respectively. Factors including age older than 40 years, higher grade, regional and distant stage, tumor in the extremities, T2 stage, bone and lung metastases, and non‐surgery were significantly associated with the poor survival of the entire cohort. The mean overall survival duration of patients with chordoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and osteosarcoma was 66.86 (95% CI: 64.06–69.66), 63.53 (95% CI: 61.81–65.25), 58.06 (95% CI: 55.49–60.62) and 54.91 (95% CI: 53.14–56.69) months, respectively. Compared with chordoma, the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% CI for patients with chondrosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and osteosarcoma were 1.30 (95% CI: 1.04–1.62; P = 0.023), 1.69 (95% CI: 1.33–2.14; P < 0.001), and 2.00 (95% CI: 1.61–2.48; P <0.001), respectively. Different bone sarcomas showed homogenous and heterogenous prognostic factors. Conclusion: Different clinicopathological characteristics and prognoses were revealed in patients with osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and chordoma. To avoid dramatic economic losses and unrecoverable failures in offshore wind farms, it is necessary to accurately detect faults at the early stage of doubly-fed induction generators. The new extended Park's vector method is proposed in the study. The amplitude of the twice fundamental frequency component of the square of the Park's vector module is selected as the new fault feature to realise the early fault detection. The relationship between the extended Park's vector method and negative sequence current of the stator is also analysed in the study. The Fryze–Buchholz–Dpenbrock algorithm and the non-linear least squares method are applied to estimate the mathematic relationship among unbalanced stator voltage, load change and the negative sequence current of the stator. The experiments were conducted and the results showed that the proposed method is robust to the effects of the unbalanced stator voltage and load change. The Middle and Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River metallogenic belt (MLYMB) is one of the most important Fe‐Cu polymetallic belts in China. However, the mechanism and deep geodynamical process for the formation of this belt are still controversial. Here, we obtain the crustal and the uppermost mantle structures using ambient noise data from a dense seismic profile. A low velocity zone is revealed beneath the Moho of MLYMB, interpreted as the source of the deep mineralization materials. In addition, a low velocity layer (LVL) and a high velocity layer (HVL) are observed in the crust of the southern segment of the profile. The LVL is interpreted as a tectonic detachment layer between the upper and the lower crust, and the HVL is interpreted as the aggregation zone for mineralizing melts or crystallized magma chambers. Based on the observed velocity features, we propose a three‐stage model for the formation of ore deposits in MLYMB. Our model suggests that an upwelling of asthenosphere triggered by the delamination of a previously thickened lithosphere leads to the partial melting of upper mantle rocks, which eventually ponders under the Moho. The magma then infiltrates through the ductile lower crust and reaches a depth of ∼7–13 km, forming a minerals‐enriched magma chamber. Minerals‐rich hot fluids originating from the magma chamber continue to move upward along the pre‐existent faults and the minerals finally precipitate in dense veinlets when reaching shallow depths, forming the ore deposits in and around the MLYMB.
