Machine learning (ML), a form of artificial intelligence (AI), is being increasingly employed in neurology. Reported performance metrics often match or exceed the efficiency of average clinicians. The neurologist is easily baffled by the underlying concepts and terminologies associated with ML studies. The superlative performance metrics of ML algorithms often hide the opaque nature of its inner workings. Questions regarding ML model's interpretability and reproducibility of its results in real-world scenarios, need emphasis. Given an abundance of time and information, the expert clinician should be able to deliver comparable predictions to ML models, a useful benchmark while evaluating its performance. Predictive performance metrics of ML models should not be confused with causal inference between its input and output. ML and clinical gestalt should compete in a randomized controlled trial before they can complement each other for screening, triaging, providing second opinions and modifying treatment. Background: Dementia is a cognitive decline that leads to the progressive deterioration of an individual's ability to perform daily activities independently. As a result, a considerable amount of time and resources are spent on caretaking. Early detection of dementia can significantly reduce the effort and resources needed for caretaking. Aims: This research proposes an approach for assessing cognitive decline by analysing speech data, specifically focusing on speech relevance as a crucial indicator for memory recall. Methods & Procedures: This is a cross‐sectional, online, self‐administered. The proposed method used deep learning architecture based on transformers, with BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) and Sentence‐Transformer to derive encoded representations of speech transcripts. These representations provide contextually descriptive information that is used to analyse the relevance of sentences in their respective contexts. The encoded information is then compared using cosine similarity metrics to measure the relevance of uttered sequences of sentences. The study uses the Pitt Corpus Dementia dataset for experimentation, which consists of speech data from individuals with and without dementia. The accuracy of the proposed multi‐QA‐MPNet (Multi‐Query Maximum Inner Product Search Pretraining) model is compared with other pretrained transformer models of Sentence‐Transformer. Outcomes & Results: The results show that the proposed approach outperforms the other models in capturing context level information, particularly semantic memory. Additionally, the study explores the suitability of different similarity measures to evaluate the relevance of uttered sequences of sentences. The experimentation reveals that cosine similarity is the most appropriate measure for this task. Conclusions & Implications: This finding has significant implications for the early warning signs of dementia, as it suggests that cosine similarity metrics can effectively capture the semantic relevance of spoken language. The persistent cognitive decline over time acts as one of the indicators for prevalence of dementia. Additionally early dementia could be recognised by analysis on other modalities like speech and brain images. Underwater acoustic (UWA) channel prediction technology, as an important topic in UWA communication, has played an important role in UWA adaptive communication network and underwater target perception. Although many significant advancements have been achieved in underwater acoustic channel prediction over the years, a comprehensive summary and introduction is still lacking. As the first comprehensive overview of UWA channel prediction, this paper introduces past works and algorithm implementation methods of channel prediction from the perspective of linear, kernel-based, and deep learning approaches. Importantly, based on available at-sea experiment datasets, this paper compares the performance of current primary UWA channel prediction algorithms under a unified system framework, providing researchers with a comprehensive and objective understanding of UWA channel prediction. Finally, it discusses the directions and challenges for future research. The survey finds that linear prediction algorithms are the most widely applied, and deep learning, as the most advanced type of algorithm, has moved this field into a new stage. The experimental results show that the linear algorithms have the lowest computational complexity, and when the training samples are sufficient, deep learning algorithms have the best prediction performance. A deep learning-based Visual Inertial SLAM technique is proposed in this paper to ensure accurate autonomous localization of mobile robots in environments with dynamic objects. Addressing the limitations of real-time performance in deep learning algorithms and the poor robustness of pure visual geometry algorithms, this paper presents a deep learning-based Visual Inertial SLAM technique. Firstly, a non-blocking model is designed to extract semantic information from images. Then, a motion probability hierarchy model is proposed to obtain prior motion probabilities of feature points. For image frames without semantic information, a motion probability propagation model is designed to determine the prior motion probabilities of feature points. Furthermore, considering that the output of inertial measurements is unaffected by dynamic objects, this paper integrates inertial measurement information to improve the estimation accuracy of feature point motion probabilities. An adaptive threshold-based motion probability estimation method is proposed, and finally, the positioning accuracy is enhanced by eliminating feature points with excessively high motion probabilities. Over the years the number of research publications per year is growing exponentially. Finding research papers of quality from the massive literature of relevant articles is a challenging and time-consuming task. The approaches in the latest literature address citation recommendation by utilizing large bibliographic information and use machine learning and deep learning methods for the task. These techniques clearly require a large amount of training data as well as machines with high processing power. To overcome these issues, we propose a novel method by modifying the popular hyperlink induced topic search (HITS), a web page ranking algorithm, as citation recommendation using hyperlink induced topic search (CR-HITS) that works on a directed and weighted heterogeneous bibliographic network containing diverse types of nodes and edges. We define effective scoring schemes for nodes and edges based on basic bibliographic information like citations of papers, number of publications of an author, etc. Given a few seed papers, the citation recommendation algorithm CR-HITS is run on small neighborhoods of the seed papers and hence the time taken by the execution is very small to yield the final recommendations. To the best of our knowledge, HITS has been used for the first time for the citation recommendation problem. We perform extensive experimentation on DBLP (version-11) and ACM (version-9) datasets and compare the results with many baseline methods in terms of MAP, MRR, and recall@N measures. The performance of the proposed algorithms is superior with respect to the MAP metric and matches the second best for the other two metrics. Since the top two algorithms use deep learning methods and use much larger bibliographic information including abstracts of the papers, we claim that our approach utilizes very low resources, yet yields recommendations that are very close to the top recommendations. Emotion detection and Sentiment analysis techniques are used to understand polarity or emotions expressed by people in many cases, especially during interactive systems use. Recognizing users' emotions is an important topic for human–computer interaction. Computers that recognize emotions would provide more natural interactions. Also, emotion detection helps design human-centred systems that provide adaptable behaviour change interventions based on users' emotions. The growing capability of machine learning to analyze big data and extract emotions therein has led to a surge in research in this domain. With this increased attention, it becomes essential to investigate this research area and provide a comprehensive review of the current state. In this paper, we conduct a systematic review of 123 papers on machine learning-based emotion detection to investigate research trends along many themes, including machine learning approaches, application domain, data, evaluation, and outcome. The results demonstrate: 1) increasing interest in this domain, 2) supervised machine learning (namely, SVM and Naïve Bayes) are the most popular algorithms, 3) Text datasets in the English language are the most common data source, and 4) most research use Accuracy to evaluate performance. Simple Summary: The 2021 WHO classification of central nervous system (CNS) tumors is challenging for neuroradiologists due to the central role of the molecular profile of tumors. We performed a scoping review of recent literature to assess the existing data on the power of novel data analysis tools to predict new tumor classes by imaging. We found room for performance improvement for subgroups with lower incidence (e.g., 1p/19q codeleted or IDH1/2 mutated gliomas) and patients with rare diagnoses (e.g., pediatric gliomas, midline gliomas). More data regarding functional MRI techniques need to be collected. Studies explicitly designed to assess the generalizability of AI-aided tools for predicting molecular tumor subgroups are lacking. The potential of novel data analysis tools in neuroimaging must be harnessed to maintain its role in predicting tumor subgroups. We performed a scoping review to determine current evidence and research gaps. A comprehensive literature search was conducted regarding glioma subgroups according to the 2021 WHO classification and the use of MRI, radiomics, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms. Sixty-two original articles were included and analyzed by extracting data on the study design and results. Only 8% of the studies included pediatric patients. Low-grade gliomas and diffuse midline gliomas were represented in one-third of the research papers. Public datasets were utilized in 22% of the studies. Conventional imaging sequences prevailed; data on functional MRI (DWI, PWI, CEST, etc.) are underrepresented. Multiparametric MRI yielded the best prediction results. IDH mutation and 1p/19q codeletion status prediction remain in focus with limited data on other molecular subgroups. Reported AUC values range from 0.6 to 0.98. Studies designed to assess generalizability are scarce. Performance is worse for smaller subgroups (e.g., 1p/19q codeleted or IDH1/2 mutated gliomas). Environmental effects may lead to cracking, stiffness loss, brace damage, and other damages in bridges, frame structures, buildings, etc. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) technology could prevent catastrophic events by detecting damage early. In recent years, Deep Learning (DL) has developed rapidly and has been applied to SHM to detect, localize, and evaluate diverse damages through efficient feature extraction. This paper analyzes 337 articles through a systematic literature review to investigate the application of DL for SHM in the operation and maintenance phase of facilities from three perspectives: data, DL algorithms, and applications. Firstly, the data types in SHM and the corresponding collection methods are summarized and analyzed. The most common data types are vibration signals and images, accounting for 80% of the literature studied. Secondly, the popular DL algorithm types and application areas are reviewed, of which CNN accounts for 60%. Then, this article carefully analyzes the specific functions of DL application for SHM based on the facility's characteristics. The most scrutinized study focused on cracks, accounting for 30 percent of research papers. Finally, challenges and trends in applying DL for SHM are discussed. Among the trends, the Structural Health Monitoring Digital Twin (SHMDT) model framework is suggested in response to the trend of strong coupling between SHM technology and Digital Twin (DT), which can advance the digitalization, visualization, and intelligent management of SHM. As the scale and complexity of networks grow rapidly, management, maintenance, and optimization of them are becoming increasingly challenging tasks for network administrators. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) was introduced to facilitate these tasks as it offers logically centralized control, a global view of the network, and software-based traffic analysis, thus, it is widely adopted of SDN to manage large-scale networks. On the other hand, SDN is not immune to cyber attacks. In fact, its centralized architecture makes it more vulnerable to certain types of attacks, such as denial of service. Various attack mitigation strategies are proposed to strengthen the security of SDNs including statistical, threshold-based, and Machine Learning (ML) methods. Among them, Deep Learning (DL)-based models attained the best results as they were able to extract the complex relationship between input parameters and output that could not be achieved with other solutions. Hence, this paper presents a comprehensive survey of the literature on the utilization of different DL algorithms for the security of SDN. We first explain the types of attacks that SDNs are exposed to, then present papers that applied DL to detect and/or mitigate these attacks. We further discuss the public datasets used to train DL models and evaluate their advantages and disadvantages. Researchers have explored various methods to fully exploit the all-weather characteristics of Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images to achieve high-precision, real-time, computationally efficient, and easily deployable ship target detection models. These methods include Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithms and deep learning approaches such as RCNN, YOLO, and SSD, among others. While these methods outperform traditional algorithms in SAR ship detection, challenges still exist in handling the arbitrary ship distributions and small target features in SAR remote sensing images. Existing models are complex, with a large number of parameters, hindering effective deployment. This paper introduces a YOLOv7 oriented bounding box SAR ship detection model (YOLOv7oSAR). The model employs a rotation box detection mechanism, uses the KLD loss function to enhance accuracy, and introduces a Bi-former attention mechanism to improve small target detection. By redesigning the network's width and depth and incorporating a lightweight P-ELAN structure, the model effectively reduces its size and computational requirements. The proposed model achieves high-precision detection results on the public RSDD dataset (94.8% offshore, 66.6% nearshore), and its generalization ability is validated on a custom dataset (94.2% overall detection accuracy). Deep learning, which is a dominating technique in artificial intelligence, has completely changed image understanding over the past decade. As a consequence, the sea ice extraction (SIE) problem has reached a new era. We present a comprehensive review of four important aspects of SIE, including algorithms, datasets, applications and future trends. Our review focuses on research published from 2016 to the present, with a specific focus on deep-learning-based approaches in the last five years. We divided all related algorithms into three categories, including the conventional image classification approach, the machine learning-based approach and deep-learning-based methods. We reviewed the accessible ice datasets including SAR-based datasets, the optical-based datasets and others. The applications are presented in four aspects including climate research, navigation, geographic information systems (GIS) production and others. Ship fire may result in significant damage to its structure and large economic loss. Hence, the prompt identification of fires is essential in order to provide prompt reactions and effective mitigation strategies. However, conventional detection systems exhibit limited efficacy and accuracy in detecting targets, which has been mostly attributed to limitations imposed by distance constraints and the motion of ships. Although the development of deep learning algorithms provides a potential solution, the computational complexity of ship fire detection algorithm pose significant challenges. To solve this, this paper proposes a lightweight ship fire detection algorithm based on YOLOv8n. Initially, a dataset, including more than 4000 unduplicated images and their labels, is established before training. In order to ensure the performance of algorithms, both fire inside ship rooms and also fire on board are considered. Then after tests, YOLOv8n is selected as the model with the best performance and fastest speed from among several advanced object detection algorithms. GhostnetV2-C2F is then inserted in the backbone of the algorithm for long-range attention with inexpensive operation. In addition, spatial and channel reconstruction convolution (SCConv) is used to reduce redundant features with significantly lower complexity and computational costs for real-time ship fire detection. For the neck part, omni-dimensional dynamic convolution is used for the multi-dimensional attention mechanism, which also lowers the parameters. After these improvements, a lighter and more accurate YOLOv8n algorithm, called Ship-Fire Net, was proposed. The proposed method exceeds 0.93, both in precision and recall for fire and smoke detection in ships. In addition, the mAP@0.5 reaches about 0.9. Despite the improvement in accuracy, Ship-Fire Net also has fewer parameters and lower FLOPs compared to the original, which accelerates its detection speed. The paper presents an algorithm to approach the problem of Maximum Clique Enumeration, a well known NP-hard problem that have several real world applications. The proposed solution, called LGP-MCE, exploits Geometric Deep Learning, a Machine Learning technique on graphs, to filter out nodes that do not belong to maximum cliques and then applies an exact algorithm to the pruned network. To assess the LGP-MCE, we conducted multiple experiments using a substantial dataset of real-world networks, varying in size, density, and other characteristics. With the emergence and vigorous development of 5G technology, there is a significant surge in network usage and traffic, resulting in heightened complexity within network and IT environments. This exponential increase in activity produces a plethora of events, making conventional systems inadequate for the efficient management of 5G networks. In comparison to 4G technology, 5G technology brings forth a host of new features, one of which is the network data analytics function (NWDAF). This function grants network operators the flexibility to either employ their own data analytics methodologies based on machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) into their networks. In this paper, we present a dataset named "NWDAF-NFPP" for network function performance time series prediction, collected from a laboratory at China Telecom. The dataset is carefully anonymized to ensure maximum realism and comprehensiveness, while safeguarding sensitive information. It encompasses eight categories of network functions, with data collected at five-minute intervals. The availability of this dataset provides valuable resources for researchers to conduct time series prediction research on network element performance. Following data collection, a total of six models were employed for network element performance prediction, encompassing both machine learning and deep learning approaches. This diverse set of models was carefully chosen to ensure comprehensive coverage of different techniques and algorithms. Through the comparison and analysis of these models, we aim to evaluate their predictive capabilities and identify the most effective approach for network element performance prediction. Imbalanced image datasets consist of image datasets where there is a significant disparity in the number of samples across different classes. With imbalanced image datasets, learning algorithms often tend to be biased toward the majority class samples. This leads to poor classification of minority class samples as their training is not properly conducted. It becomes more complicated when the number of samples in the minority class is very low. In this paper, a novel hierarchical algorithm is proposed for generating new data using Capsule Generative Adversarial Networks (CapsGAN) to address the class imbalance problem in imbalanced image datasets. Unlike common GAN models, the proposed method incorporates an auxiliary CapsNet to identify high‐value images in both minority and majority classes. This identification is based on the ability to detect complex relationships between low‐level and high‐level features present in capsule networks. Furthermore, the proposed CapsGAN model is conditioned to generate minority class samples based on feature vectors of last capsule layer to achieve a more balanced image dataset. For evaluating the performance of the proposed model, an image dataset called CICS was collected and introduced. Extensive experiments were also conducted using various online image datasets from different domains, with varying numbers of classes and data sizes. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed model can generate high‐quality samples in cases where the image dataset or the number of minority class samples is relatively small. Hybrid approaches combining machine learning with traditional inverse problem solution methods represent a promising direction for the further development of inverse modeling algorithms. The paper proposes an approach to emission source identification from measurement data for advection–diffusion–reaction models. The approach combines general-type source identification and post-processing refinement: first, emission source identification by measurement data is carried out by a sensitivity operator-based algorithm, and then refinement is done by incorporating a priori information about unknown sources. A general-type distributed emission source identified at the first stage is transformed into a localized source consisting of multiple point-wise sources. The second, refinement stage consists of two steps: point-wise source localization and emission rate estimation. Emission source localization is carried out using deep learning with convolutional neural networks. Training samples are generated using a sensitivity operator obtained at the source identification stage. The algorithm was tested in regional remote sensing emission source identification scenarios for the Lake Baikal region and was able to refine the emission source reconstruction results. PCB defect detection aims to identify the presence of gaps, open circuits, short circuits, and other defects in the PCB boards produced in the industry. Designing effective deep learning algorithms is crucial to finding a solution. Previously proposed PCB defect detection algorithms are limited in detecting tiny objects in high-density. Directly applying previous models to tackle PCB defect detection tasks will cause serious issues, such as missed detection and false detection. In this paper, we present a detection algorithm for tiny PCB defect targets in high-density regions to solve the above-mentioned problems. We firstly propose a detection head to detect tiny objects. Then, we design a four-channel feature fusion mechanism to fuse four different scale features and add an attention mechanism to find the attention region in scenarios with dense objects. Finally, we achieved accurate detection of tiny targets in high-density areas. Experiments were performed on the publicly available PCB defect dataset from Peking University. Our mAP@.5:.95 achieves 48.6%, while mAP@0.5 exceeds 90%. Compared with YOLOX and YOLOv5, our improved model can better localize tiny objects in high-density scenes. Purpose: Artifacts in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans degrade image quality and thus negatively affect the outcome measures of clinical and research scanning. Considering the time-consuming and subjective nature of visual quality control (QC), multiple (semi-)automatic QC algorithms have been developed. This systematic review presents an overview of the available (semi-)automatic QC algorithms and software packages designed for raw, structural T1-weighted (T1w) MRI datasets. The objective of this review was to identify the differences among these algorithms in terms of their features of interest, performance, and benchmarks. Methods: We queried PubMed, EMBASE (Ovid), and Web of Science databases on the fifth of January 2023, and cross-checked reference lists of retrieved papers. Bias assessment was performed using PROBAST (Prediction model Risk Of Bias ASsessment Tool). Results: A total of 18 distinct algorithms were identified, demonstrating significant variations in methods, features, datasets, and benchmarks. The algorithms were categorized into rule-based, classical machine learning-based, and deep learning-based approaches. Numerous unique features were defined, which can be roughly divided into features capturing entropy, contrast, and normative measures. There are two basic modes for use of drone in case of military/surveillance: first is attack mode and defensive mode. Hence, this paper focuses on defensive mode as a scope of the proposed study. This paper provides significance of drone surveillance, a new artificial intelligence strategy to develop a predictive model based on the path planning. Further, based on the drone dataset, the UAV travel graph can be predicted and tested with a recursive machine learning algorithm. In recent years, various human action recognition algorithms have achieved excellent recognition performance based on a large number of labeled samples. However, in practical applications, acquiring training samples and their corresponding labels is time-consuming and laborious, which limits the actual implementation of the algorithm. This paper summarized the deep learning algorithms for action recognition under weak supervision and few-shot learning. Firstly, in the case of weak supervision, it classified and summarized the semi-supervised action recognition methods and unsupervised domain adaptation video action recognition methods separately. Then, it reviewed video action recognition algorithms based on few-shot learning in detail. Further, it summarized the relevant human behavior datasets and analyzed and compared the performance of various relevant video action recognition algorithms on these datasets. The clinical diagnosis of heart disease in most situations is based on a difficult amalgamation of pathological and clinical information. Because of this complication, there is a significant level of curiosity among many diagnostic healthcare professionals and researchers who are keenly interested in the efficient, accurate, and early-stage forecasting of heart disease. Deep Learning Algorithms aid in the prediction of heart disease. The main focus of this paper is to develop a method for predicting heart disease through Modified Rough K means + + (MRK + +) clustering along with the Restricted Boltzmann Machine (RBM). This paper is categorized into two modules: (1) Propose a clustering component based on Modified Rough K-means + + ; (2) disease prediction based on RBM. The input Cleveland dataset is clustered using the stochastic probabilistic rough k-means + + clustering technique in the module for clustering. The clustered data is acquired and used in the RBM, and this hybrid structure is then used in the heart disease forecasting module. Throughout the testing procedure, the most valid result is chosen from the clustered test data, and the RBM classifier that correlates to the nearest cluster in the test data is based on the smallest distance or similar parameters. Furthermore, the output value is used to predict heart disease. There are three different types of experiments that are performed: In the first experiment comprises modifying the rough K-means + + clustering algorithm, the second experiment evaluates the classification result, and the third experiment suggests hybrid model representation. After 70 years of intricate development, machine learning, represented by deep learning, is based on the multilevel structure of the human brain and the layer-by-layer analysis and processing mechanism of neuron connection and interaction information. The powerful parallel information processing ability of self-adaptation and self-learning has allowed for breakthroughs in many fields, among which the most representative is image recognition. Therefore, this paper proposed optimizing the RBF algorithm with machine learning (ML) to improve the recognition rate of spectrum sensing. The results showed that the average detection success rates of the RBF algorithm were 93.62%, 95.07%, 96.91%, 98.78% and 99.37% when the SNRs were − 8 dB, − 4 dB, 0 dB, 4 dB and 8 dB, respectively, and the other conditions were kept the same. The average detection success rates of the SVM/RBF algorithm were 97.65%, 99.63%, 99.76%, 99.91% and 99.88%, respectively. The average detection success rate of the SVM/RBF algorithm was significantly higher than that of the RBF algorithm. This indicates that analyzing the RBF neural network algorithm through ML can improve the success rate of spectrum sensing, which highlights a new direction for the application of ML and neural networks. The problem that I present in this paper concerns the issue of ethical evaluation of algorithms, especially those used in social media and which create profiles of users of these media and new technologies that have recently emerged and are intended to change the functioning of technologies used in data management. Systems such as Overton, SambaNova or Snorkel were created to help engineers create data management models, but they are based on different assumptions than the previous approach in machine learning and deep learning. There is a need to analyze both deep learning algorithms and new technologies in database management in terms of their actions towards a person who leaves their digital footprints, on which these technologies work. Deficits in social verbal communication in individuals with Social Communication Disorder (SCD) is of concern and SCD in the human community is prevalent in large population throughout the globe. Deficits in verbal social communication are prevalent in a large population. This paper aimed to propose internet connected multi-system architecture which is capable to support verbal communication in a social environment for individuals with social communication deficits. Implementation methodology was included with corpus collection for specific communication, deep learning based machine training for intelligent communication, and implementation of the trained algorithm on internet connected electronic multiple social communication devices. The implemented system is smart enough to initiate and maintain two types of communication; the first type includes communication between multiple individuals on the remote location and the second type includes communication with the individual present in the physical listening range. The system was investigated in terms of its algorithmic parameters and found 97% to 100% in terms of training and testing accuracy with negligible mean squared error. Vocal-Friend analysed results based on audio-bot simulative conditions provide more than 91% accuracy, interaction rate and fallback rate. On the basis of the satisfaction analysis, above average results were noticed. In terms of technical implementations and satisfaction analysis, results found acceptable with above average score. Proposed framework is easy to use by caregivers with even having little knowledge. Support individual with deficit to learn social verbal communication skill to survive in society. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the current state of AI-based techniques used in combination with non-invasive diagnostic imaging modalities including reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and dermoscopy. We also aimed to determine whether the application of AI-based techniques can lead to improved diagnostic accuracy of melanoma. Methods: A systematic search was conducted via the Medline/PubMed, Cochrane, and Embase databases for eligible publications between 2018 and 2022. Screening methods adhered to the 2020 version of the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Included studies utilized AI-based algorithms for melanoma detection and directly addressed the review objectives. Results: We retrieved 40 papers amongst the three databases. All studies directly comparing the performance of AI-based techniques with dermatologists reported the superior or equivalent performance of AI-based techniques in improving the detection of melanoma. In studies directly comparing algorithm performance on dermoscopy images to dermatologists, AI-based algorithms achieved a higher ROC (>80%) in the detection of melanoma. In these comparative studies using dermoscopic images, the mean algorithm sensitivity was 83.01% and the mean algorithm specificity was 85.58%. Studies evaluating machine learning in conjunction with OCT boasted accuracy of 95%, while studies evaluating RCM reported a mean accuracy rate of 82.72%. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate the robust potential of AI-based techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes through the early identification of melanoma. Further studies are needed to assess the generalizability of these AI-based techniques across different populations and skin types, improve standardization in image processing, and further compare the performance of AI-based techniques with board-certified dermatologists to evaluate clinical applicability. In this paper, the quantum technology is exploited to empower the OPTICS unsupervised learning algorithm, which is a density-based clustering algorithm with numerous applications in the real world. We design an algorithm called Quantum Ordering Points To Identify the Clustering Structure (QOPTICS) and demonstrate that its computational complexity outperforms that of its classical counterpart. On the other hand, we propose a Deep self-learning approach for modeling the improvement of two Swarm Intelligence Algorithms, namely Artificial Orca Algorithm (AOA) and Elephant Herding Optimization (EHO) in order to improve their effectiveness. The deep self-learning approach is based on two well-known dynamic mutation operators, namely Cauchy mutation operator and Gaussian mutation operator. And in order to improve the efficiency of these algorithms, they are hybridized with QOPTICS and executed on just one cluster it yields. This way, both effectiveness and efficiency are handled. To evaluate the proposed approaches, an intelligent application is developed to manage the dispatching of emergency vehicles in a large geographic region and in the context of Covid-19 crisis in order to avoid an important loss in human lives. A theoretical model is designed to describe the issue mathematically. Extensive experiments are then performed to validate the mathematical model and evaluate the performance of the proposed deep self-learning algorithms. Background: In silico testing of novel image reconstruction and quantitative algorithms designed for interventional imaging requires realistic high‐resolution modeling of arterial trees with contrast dynamics. Furthermore, data synthesis for training of deep learning algorithms requires that an arterial tree generation algorithm be computationally efficient and sufficiently random. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide a method for anatomically and physiologically motivated, computationally efficient, random hepatic arterial tree generation. Methods: The vessel generation algorithm uses a constrained constructive optimization approach with a volume minimization‐based cost function. The optimization is constrained by the Couinaud liver classification system to assure a main feeding artery to each Couinaud segment. An intersection check is included to guarantee non‐intersecting vasculature and cubic polynomial fits are used to optimize bifurcation angles and to generate smoothly curved segments. Furthermore, an approach to simulate contrast dynamics and respiratory and cardiac motion is also presented. Results: : The proposed algorithm can generate a synthetic hepatic arterial tree with 40 000 branches in 11 s. The high‐resolution arterial trees have realistic morphological features such as branching angles (MAD with Murray's law =1.2±1.2o$ = \;1.2 \pm {1.2^o}$), radii (median Murray deviation =0.08$ = \;0.08$), and smoothly curved, non‐intersecting vessels. Furthermore, the algorithm assures a main feeding artery to each Couinaud segment and is random (variability = 0.98 ± 0.01). Conclusions: This method facilitates the generation of large datasets of high‐resolution, unique hepatic angiograms for the training of deep learning algorithms and initial testing of novel 3D reconstruction and quantitative algorithms designed for interventional imaging. In this paper, we have designed an artificial neural network architecture to produce metric field of planar BTZ and quintessence black holes applying a data-driven approach andleveraging holography principle (according to AdS/DL (Anti de Sitter/Deep Learning) correspondence given by [1]). Data has been collected by choosing minimally coupled massive scalar field with quantum fluctuations and we try to process two emergent and ground-truth metrics versus the holographic parameter which plays the role of depth of the neural network. Loss or error function which shows rate of deviation of these two metrics in presence of penalty regularization term reaches to its minimum value when values of the learning rate approach to the observed steepest gradient point. Values of the regularization or penalty term of the quantum scalar field has critical role to matching this two mentioned metric. In sports, advance sensing technologies generate massive amount of unstructured telemedicine data that need to be refined for accurate diagnosis of underlying diseases. For accurate prediction of diseases and classification of athletes' data, deep learning algorithms are frequently used at the cloud. However, the transmission of raw data of athletes to the cloud faces numerous challenges. Among them, security and privacy are a major challenge in view of the sensitive and personal information present within the unstructured data. In this paper, first we present a data block scrambling algorithm (without key management) for secured transmission and storage of ECG (electrocardiogram) data of table tennis players at the cloud. A small piece of original data stored at the cloud is used for scrambling the massive amount of remaining ECG data. The secured telemedicine data is then imported into Hadoop Distributed File System for data management, which is read by Spark framework to form Resilient Distributed Datasets. Finally, a deep learning approach is used that extracts useful features, learns the related information, and weights and sums the feature vectors at different layers for classification. Theoretical analysis proves that our proposed approach is highly robust and resilient to brute force attacks and at the same time has a much better accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity as compared to the existing approaches. INTRODUCTION: An improved Yolov7 model. OBJECTIVES: To solve the weed detection and identification in complex field background. METHODS: The dataset was enhanced by online data enhancement, in which the feature extraction, feature fusion and feature point judgment of weed image were carried out by Yolov7 to predict the weed situation corresponding to the prior box. In the enhanced feature extraction part of Yolov7, CBAM, an attention mechanism combining channel and space, is introduced to improve the attention of the algorithm to weeds and strengthen the characteristics of weeds. RESULTS: The mean average precision (mAP) of the improved algorithm reached 91.15%, which was 2.06% higher than that of the original Yolov7 algorithm. Compared with the current mainstream target detection algorithms Yolox, Yolov5l, Fster RCNN, Yolov4-tiny and Yolov3, the mAP value of the improved algorithm increased by 4.35, 4.51, 5.41, 19.77 and 20.65 percentage points. Weed species can be accurately identified when multiple weeds are adjacent. CONCLUSION: This paper provides a detection model based on Yolov7 for weed detection in the field, which has a good detection effect on weed detection, and lays a research foundation for intelligent weeding robot and spraying robot. Simple Summary: Accurately grading gliomas, which are the most common and aggressive malignant brain tumors in adults, poses a significant challenge for radiologists. This study explores the application of Deep Learning techniques in assisting tumor grading using Magnetic Resonance Images (MRIs). By analyzing a glioma database sourced from multiple public datasets and comparing different settings, the aim of this study is to develop a robust and reliable grading system. The study demonstrates that by focusing on the tumor region of interest and augmenting the available data, there is a significant improvement in both the accuracy and confidence of tumor grade classifications. While successful in differentiating low-grade gliomas from high-grade gliomas, the accurate classification of grades 2, 3, and 4 remains challenging. The research findings have significant implications for advancing the development of a non-invasive, robust, and trustworthy data-driven system to support clinicians in the diagnosis and therapy planning of glioma patients. Glioma is the most common type of tumor in humans originating in the brain. According to the World Health Organization, gliomas can be graded on a four-stage scale, ranging from the most benign to the most malignant. The grading of these tumors from image information is a far from trivial task for radiologists and one in which they could be assisted by machine-learning-based decision support. However, the machine learning analytical pipeline is also fraught with perils stemming from different sources, such as inadvertent data leakage, adequacy of 2D image sampling, or classifier assessment biases. In this paper, we analyze a glioma database sourced from multiple datasets using a simple classifier, aiming to obtain a reliable tumor grading and, on the way, we provide a few guidelines to ensure such reliability. Our results reveal that by focusing on the tumor region of interest and using data augmentation techniques we significantly enhanced the accuracy and confidence in tumor classifications. Evaluation on an independent test set resulted in an AUC-ROC of 0.932 in the discrimination of low-grade gliomas from high-grade gliomas, and an AUC-ROC of 0.893 in the classification of grades 2, 3, and 4. The study also highlights the importance of providing, beyond generic classification performance, measures of how reliable and trustworthy the model's output is, thus assessing the model's certainty and robustness. Hyperparameter optimization plays a significant role in the overall performance of machine learning algorithms. However, the computational cost of algorithm evaluation can be extremely high for complex algorithm or large dataset. In this paper, we propose a model-based reinforcement learning with experience variable and meta-learning optimization method to speed up the training process of hyperparameter optimization. Specifically, an RL agent is employed to select hyperparameters and treat the k-fold cross-validation result as a reward signal to update the agent. To guide the agent's policy update, we design an embedding representation called "experience variable" and dynamically update it during the training process. Besides, we employ a predictive model to predict the performance of machine learning algorithm with the selected hyperparameters and limit the model rollout in short horizon to reduce the impact of the inaccuracy of the model. Finally, we use the meta-learning technique to pre-train the model for fast adapting to a new task. To prove the advantages of our method, we conduct experiments on 25 real HPO tasks and the experimental results show that with the limited computational resources, the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art Bayesian methods and evolution method. With ever-growing big data, tremendous undiscovered knowledge can be mined to be transformed into useful applications. Machine learning algorithms are taking the lead to achieve various target applications with formulations such as classification, clustering, regression, prediction, and anomaly detection. Notably, attention has shifted from traditional machine learning algorithms to advanced algorithms, including deep learning, transfer learning, and data generation algorithms, to provide more accurate models. With the gradual popularization of autonomous driving technology, how to obtain traffic sign information efficiently and accurately is very important for subsequent decision-making and planning tasks. Traffic sign detection and recognition (TSDR) algorithms include color-based, shape-based, and machine learning based. However, the algorithms mentioned above are insufficient for traffic sign detection tasks in complex environments. In this paper, we propose a traffic sign detection and recognition paradigm based on deep learning algorithms. First, to solve the problem of insufficient spatial information in high-level features of small traffic signs, the parallel deformable convolution module (PDCM) is proposed in this paper. PDCM adaptively acquires the corresponding receptive field preserving the integrity of the abstract information through symmetrical branches thereby improving the feature extraction capability. Simultaneously, we propose sub-pixel convolution attention module (SCAM) based on the attention mechanism to alleviate the influence of scale distribution. Distinguishing itself from other feature fusion, our proposed method can better focus on the information of scale distribution through the attention module. Eventually, we introduce GSConv to further reduce the computational complexity of our proposed algorithm, better satisfying industrial application. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed methods can effectively improve performance, both in detection accuracy and mAP@0.5. Recommendation algorithms save a lot of valuable time for people to get the information they are interested in. However, the feature calculation and extraction process of each machine learning or deep learning recommendation algorithm are different, so how to obtain various features with different dimensions, i.e., how to integrate the advantages of each model and improve the model inference efficiency, becomes the focus of this paper. In this paper, a better deep learning model is obtained by integrating several cutting-edge deep learning models. In this paper, we discuss applications of neural networks to recognizing knots and, in particular, to the unknotting problem. One of the motivations for this study is to understand how neural networks work on the example of a problem for which rigorous mathematical algorithms for its solution are known. We represent knots by rectangular Dynnikov diagrams and apply neural networks to distinguish a given diagram's class from a finite family of topological types. The data presented to the program is generated by applying Dynnikov moves to initial samples. The significance of using these diagrams and moves is that in this context the problem of determining whether a diagram is unknotted is a finite search of a bounded combinatorial space. In this way, this paper provides a foundation for further work where the neural network itself will learn to use the Dynnikov moves for knot recognition. In dynamic gesture recognition methods based on deep learning, aiming at the problems of large network scale, simple dimension of extracted spatiotemporal features, and insufficient extraction ability of effective features, this paper proposed a deep network framework. Firstly, this paper applied a novel spatiotemporal convolution module based on multiscale information fusion in the time domain to improve the 3D residual network structure, greatly reduced the size of the network and obtained rich spatiotemporal receptive field characteristics. Then it introduced a spatiotemporal feature channel attention mechanism with global information synchronization, and used a few parameters to construct the global dependency between feature maps, and the module could obtain the key features of dynamic gestures more efficiently. The experimental results on the self-built gesture dataset SHC and the public gesture dataset SKIG show that the proposed gesture recognition method has fewer parameters and more powerful multiscale spatiotemporal feature extraction ability, and gains a higher recognition rate than the current mainstream algorithms. This comprehensive review focuses on the Autonomous Driving System (ADS), which aims to reduce human errors that are the reason for about 95% of car accidents. The ADS consists of six stages: sensors, perception, localization, assessment, path planning, and control. We explain the main state-of-the-art techniques used in each stage, analyzing 275 papers, with 162 specifically on path planning due to its complexity, NP-hard optimization nature, and pivotal role in ADS. This paper categorizes path planning techniques into three primary groups: traditional (graph-based, sampling-based, gradient-based, optimization-based, interpolation curve algorithms), machine and deep learning, and meta-heuristic optimization, detailing their advantages and drawbacks. Findings show that meta-heuristic optimization methods, representing 23% of our study, are preferred for being general problem solvers capable of handling complex problems. In addition, they have faster convergence and reduced risk of local minima. Machine and deep learning techniques, accounting for 25%, are favored for their learning capabilities and fast responses to known scenarios. The trend towards hybrid algorithms (27%) combines various methods, merging each algorithm's benefits and overcoming the other's drawbacks. Moreover, adaptive parameter tuning is crucial to enhance efficiency, applicability, and balancing the search capability. Various machine learning based classifiers were proposed for intrusion detection in smart grids. However, each of them has respective advantage and disadvantages. Aiming to improve the performance of existing machine learning based classifiers, this paper proposes an adaptive deep learning algorithm with a data pre-processing module, a neural network pre-training module and a classifier module, which work together classify intrusion data types using their high-dimensional data features. The proposed Adaptive Deep Learning (ADL) algorithm obtains the number of layers and the number of neurons per layer by determining the characteristic dimension of the network traffic. With transfer learning, the proposed ADL algorithm can extract the original data dimensions and obtain new abstract features. By combining deep learning models with traditional machine learning-based classification models, the performance of classification of network traffic data is significantly improved. By using the Network Security Laboratory-Knowledge Discovery in Databases (NSL-KDD) dataset, experimental results show that the proposed ADL algorithm improves the effectiveness of existing intrusion detection methods and reduces the training time, indicating a promising candidate to enhance network security in smart grids. 【Objective】 Aiming at the problems of easy falling off and easy to cause pig infection in traditional pig breeding ear tag recognition, the paper used the improved YOLOv5s model to carry out non-invasive recognition of pig face.【Method】 Firstly, the distance of K-Means was changed to 1-IOU, which improved the adaptability of the target anchor frame of the model; Secondly, the CA coordinate attention mechanism was introduced to improve the model feature extraction; Finally, BiFPN feature fusion was introduced to effectively use the features to improve the detection ability of the model. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) play a crucial role in securing networks and identifying malicious activity. This is a critical problem in cyber security. In recent years, metaheuristic optimization algorithms and deep learning techniques have been applied to IDS to improve their accuracy and efficiency. Generally, optimization algorithms can be used to boost the performance of IDS models. Deep learning methods, such as convolutional neural networks, have also been used to improve the ability of IDS to detect and classify intrusions. In this paper, we propose a new IDS model based on the combination of deep learning and optimization methods. First, a feature extraction method based on CNNs is developed. Then, a new feature selection method is used based on a modified version of Growth Optimizer (GO), called MGO. We use the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) to boost the search process of the GO. Extensive evaluation and comparisons have been conducted to assess the quality of the suggested method using public datasets of cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) environments. The applied techniques have shown promising results in identifying previously unknown attacks with high accuracy rates. Objective: Automatic diagnosis of psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder (BD) through machine learning techniques has attracted substantial attention from psychiatric and artificial intelligence communities. These approaches mostly rely on various biomarkers extracted from electroencephalogram (EEG) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/functional MRI (fMRI) data. In this paper, we provide an updated overview of existing machine learning-based methods for bipolar disorder (BD) diagnosis using MRI and EEG data. Method: This study is a short non-systematic review with the aim of describing the current situation in automatic diagnosis of BD using machine learning methods. Therefore, an appropriate literature search was conducted via relevant keywords for original EEG/MRI studies on distinguishing BD from other conditions, particularly from healthy peers, in PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. Results: We reviewed 26 studies, including 10 EEG studies and 16 MRI studies (including structural and functional MRI), that used traditional machine learning methods and deep learning algorithms to automatically detect BD. The reported accuracies for EEG studies is about 90%, while the reported accuracies for MRI studies remains below the minimum level for clinical relevance, i.e. about 80% of the classification outcome for traditional machine learning methods. However, deep learning techniques have generally achieved accuracies higher than 95%. Conclusion: Research utilizing machine learning applied to EEG signals and brain images has provided proof of concept for how this innovative technique can help psychiatrists distinguish BD patients from healthy people. However, the results have been somewhat contradictory and we must keep away from excessive optimistic interpretations of the findings. Approximately one-third of the veteran population suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, a mental illness that is often co-morbid with social anxiety disorder. Student veterans are especially vulnerable as they struggle to adapt to a new, less structured lifestyle with few peers who understand their difficulties. To support mental health experts in the treatment of social anxiety disorder, this study utilized machine learning to detect anxiety in text transcribed from interviews with patients and applied topic modeling to highlight common stress factors for student veterans. We approach our anxiety detection task by exploring both deep learning and traditional machine learning strategies such as transformers, transfer learning, and support vector classifiers. Our models provide a tool to support psychologists and social workers in treating social anxiety. Most LLIE algorithms focus solely on enhancing the brightness of the image and ignore the extraction of image details, leading to losing much of the information that reflects the semantics of the image, losing the edges, textures, and shape features, resulting in image distortion. In this paper, the DELLIE algorithm is proposed, an algorithmic framework with deep learning as the central premise that focuses on the extraction and fusion of image detail features. Unlike existing methods, basic enhancement preprocessing is performed first, and then the detail enhancement components are obtained by using the proposed detail component prediction model. Then, the V-channel is decomposed into a reflectance map and an illumination map by proposed decomposition network, where the enhancement component is used to enhance the reflectance map. Then, the S and H channels are nonlinearly constrained using an improved adaptive loss function, while the attention mechanism is introduced into the algorithm proposed in this paper. Finally, the three channels are fused to obtain the final enhancement effect. The experimental results show that, compared with the current mainstream LLIE algorithm, the DELLIE algorithm proposed in this paper can extract and recover the image detail information well while improving the luminance, and the PSNR, SSIM, and NIQE are optimized by 1.85%, 4.00%, and 2.43% on average on recognized datasets. Irony recognition is an important research direction in text sentiment analysis, which contributes to discover ironic tone to judge text emotion correctly. The object of this paper is the application of deep learning to irony recognition, and the research aims to solve the problem that existing machine learning algorithms have difficulty in discriminating ironic tones. Aiming at the irony recognition of Chinese social comments, DC-BiGRU-CNN is proposed from the perspective of structural optimization rather than a text vectorization mechanism point of view, which is a dual-channel CNN combined with BiGRU, and incorporates attention mechanism and multigranularity convolutional neural network as the main framework. This paper first briefly discusses the difficulties of irony recognition and provides an overview of existing text sentiment analysis algorithms. This is followed by a detailed discussion of DC-BiGRU-CNN. Furtherly, it is compared with the main irony recognition methods on a social comment dataset containing Chinese ironic comments, and the experimental results show that DC-BiGRU-CNN can improve the accuracy of irony recognition. To accomplish the task of aerial manipulator’s autonomous grasping, it is very important to recognize and locate the object. At present, most of the recognition algorithms of aerial manipulators use traditional feature extraction methods. In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of object recognition and positioning, this paper designs a visual recognition and positioning algorithm based on YOLOv5 deep learning object detection algorithm and RGB‑D sensor. The algorithm can detect the object in real‑time and estimate its pose, which serves for the grasping task of aerial manipulator. At the same time, aiming at the problems that the deep learning algorithm has a huge amount of calculation and cannot achieve high‑performance real‑time detection in the embedded system, model quantization is introduced to optimize the algorithm, which can greatly improve the processing speed of the algorithm.
